"I'm not to be trusted in a book store with a credit card"
Photo of the front of Shakespeare and Co. Antiquarian Books. Shelves of colorful books in the windows flanking the door, a split Dutch door has more books visible inside the shop through the open top part and the bottom part has "trying God's patience" handwritten over the wood. Two benches flank the doorway and a curly haired person is bent over a book on the right bench, possibly writing.

If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle.

JEREMIAH S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 23
Thursday, 8/18/22
SCRIPTURE:
'“Am I a God who is near,” declares the Lord, “And not a God far off?
“Can a person hide himself in hiding places
So that I do not see him?” declares the Lord.
“Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the Lord . '
~ Jeremiah 23: 23,24
OBSERVATION:
He is the God of near AND "far off"...
He sees me wherever and no matter how I try to hide myself...
He fills the heavens and the earth - but my heart and mind and thoughts only if I allow Him in...
APPLICATION:
Remember where He is... especially when I feel like He is "far off..." He is, indeed, near...
Don't think He doesn't see and can't find me in my "private" hiding...
Allow Him to fill my heart and mind and thoughts...
PRAYER:
Father God - forgive my hiding - thank You for Your Holy Spirit's nearness in all things, reminding me to allow You into my minute-by-minute thoughts and feelings, and of Your forgiveness through Jesus for those times that seem to close You out for my own selfish reactions to things around me... In Jesus's Name, and in prayerful praise for what You have done and have yet to do that will show Your grace and glory...
For Him... for you... for yours... joyfully and gratefully...

I feel like people don't appreciate enough that Dandelion is a fast slippery little fucker. Granted we don't see this much since the books are heavily Geralt POV, but it's mentioned that a lot of his dalliances involve him scaling up houses, jumping out of windows, sliding down drainpipes, running along rooftops etc and that is hard as fuck to do
He's basically committing AssCreed level parkour and is able to outrun almost anyone who comes after him. When he's not travelling with Geralt, he has to be able to get out of trouble by himself somehow and since he's not a fighter that means being good at running, hiding and talking
Not only this but in Last Wish, as someone pointed out on my posts once, it's shown that when riding his horse, he can effortlessly lift one leg to hook over the pommel of his saddle while playing his lute at the same time the horse is moving. That's a lot of skill and balance and knowing your own horse's temperment and what they're willing to put up with. He's not just a casual rider he's an experienced rider pulling off shit that you'd only see from pros
Idk man it's just a little irritating how often he's reduced to "horny silly bard" when he has these skills under his belt too and is obviously capable of keeping up with hunting parties and actual warriors without much issue ya know?

Buggy leaned back against the alley wall and spread his legs wide to make himself appear shorter (and to be easier to hide). When Shanks didn’t seem to get the memo, Buggy rolled his eyes and tugged him closer, and closer, until Shanks was standing almost too close for propriety, the bottom hem of his cape hiding both of them from view.
His hands pressed to the wall above Buggy’s shoulders, Shanks stared at him intently, an eyebrow going up as they heard the Marines run past without giving their hiding spot so much as a first glance, let alone a second one. “Impressive,” he said.
i suspect i'm gonna end up saying something like this every time, but i just adore the art @midydoof made for this one. the lighting! the poses! the very clever way of drawing buggy when he's so well disguised he shouldn't look like buggy!
for any new readers: this is a little under two thousand words of post-roguetown, pre-canon shanks/buggy, once again involving disguises (though one of them was better planned out) and first kisses.
