This fandom is honestly...
Like, there is something to be said about fandoms in general and how they've changed as a whole generally but
There's also something about how the acotar fandom is especially toxic like
The idea that a post is surprised a murder hasn't happened yet and I found myself agreeing??? Is honestly telling
Like, also. A massive part of this is shipping and maybe it's because I have my corner of this fandom, but even then shipping the "wrong" thing in general has become something I honestly have to take in consideration when thinking of my mental health and if I can personally be prepared for any backlash??
This fandom at large doesn't feel safe and that's majorly concerning tbh
Maybe instead of saying shippers as a group are doing harm, we should just disavow harmful actions in general and not be complicit in it idk???

Session #15
Therapy, angst, past trauma, past dehumanization, implied past violence, bar fight mention, neonazi mention, referenced past character deaths, dubious psychology by fault of the author
[Follows Bared]
“It was fine until…until we got back to the house. It was late - everyone was asleep and we all went to our rooms and - ” East’s breathing shuddered. He wasn’t crying - not yet, an impressive 20 minutes into the session - but he was feeling the vice of terror squeeze his heart. “I just…I know he was an asshole, and he probably deserved it - or worse - but - I - I enjoyed it.”
“I probably would too; there’s catharsis in taking someone like that down a peg.” Judy hadn’t been critical of his parole violation - (he wasn’t actually on parole, he had to remind himself) - she was more interested in its aftermath. Which, for once, East wanted to talk about.
“It wasn’t just, as you said, taking him down a peg. It - it felt like before. When Smith would have me…y’know…” He trailed off, clearing his throat and reaching for a paper cup of water. Drinking helped him keep his voice. Judy nodded, brow knit in concern.
“Was it like a flashback, like you were feeling the way you did when he made you kill for him?”
“No - no, maybe?” East cringed, running his fingers through his hair. (It was getting long - he wasn’t sure he wanted a haircut. He wasn’t sure if he would like who he saw in the mirror after.) “It…felt safe - controlled?”
“Control I think is the right word. Smith never let you express yourself outside of when he made you kill for his entertainment. You were safe to do as you wished within the scope of his orders.”
(Except the one time he wasn’t. Except the one time he tried to be creative - to show mercy the only way he knew how - and oh, how that choice fucked him later.)
(…)
(Well, he was here, alive and free, wasn’t he?)
“I guess…yeah, the control part - controlling the situation, it felt good. But…” He bit the insider of his cheek, shame creeping up his throat. “The way he looked at me, at the end - I just - I know how that feels. And I don’t know how to feel about that.”
“Well, as much of a wanker as he is, that skinhead is still human. He still feels fear and pain and shame just like the rest of us.”
“That doesn’t mean - but he’s still a skinhead and, and I should feel good kicking the shit out of him, right? I just felt…dirty. The way he looked at me...”
East shuddered, remembering coming home that night, sitting in the dark quiet of the house. How quickly the ghosts came for him, how little sleep he stole away.
“Smith made me feel that way. And I made that piece of shit feel the same. I - I mean, like - I could have been that piece of shit, when Smith - y’know - and, and I just - I wonder if that was how Smith felt. When he hurt me. It felt good - being in control, knowing that punk was scared of me, wouldn’t look me in the eye. Wouldn’t fight back anymore.”
And that was the heart of it, wasn’t it? East wasn’t upset because he empathized with a pathetic dickhead he scared the daylights out of. He was upset because he empathized with Smith - the heady rush of power, the security of being feared.
“What was the goal of fighting him?”
“He…Alister wanted to be left alone and he wouldn’t leave. I needed to make him leave because nobody else would.”
“Did you want to kill him?”
“No - no, I only threw his knife after him to scare him.” The question startled East from his spiral. He didn’t kill. He didn’t have to kill anymore. He didn’t want to kill anymore. So he didn’t.
“Do you regret it?”
(Did he?)
“No…he was an asshole. He wasn’t going to leave without a fight, or Alister, or both.” East avoided eye contact, trying not to think about what would have happened if he wasn’t there. If all of Tierney’s 151 cm of fiery drunkeness was pit against someone as hateful and hungry for violence as that punk.
“You saw your friend was in trouble. You took control of the situation - not the person causing it. You created a situation where he chose to leave, and you let him leave.” Judy glanced up from her notes. “You are not Smith, East. You didn’t trap him there. Whatever hits you threw were precise and efficient; you could have kicked the shit out of him, beaten him to a bloody pulp, and to be quite honest I don’t think anyone in that bar would have had an issue with it.”
“But - ”
“East, you let him go when he wanted to leave. Would Smith have done that?”
(No. Never. Smith would have meted out a punishment. Nothing but immediate and complete surrender was good enough for Smith.)
“Still feel like shit about it.” He managed to mumbled, swallowing back tearful words.
“Smith was human too, East. He was a fucking monster, but still just a human, like you and me and that prick from the bar.”
“If this is supposed to make me feel better, it isn’t.”
“You’re human too, East. You're going to have moments of your life that you're not proud of. You're going to say cruel, thoughtless things and behave inappropriately and upset other people. You're going to do things that feel good in the moment that you regret later. That dickhead at the bar didn’t regret what he said to you and your friends in the moment because he didn’t see you as people entitled to basic human decency. Just because he learned to regret that choice doesn’t mean you did something wrong.”
East nodded, digesting the information.
“Smith didn’t regret what he did to you because he didn’t see you as a person. He didn’t treat you with any respect or basic human dignity because he thought you didn’t deserve it. He was wrong, of course, but he didn't regret it.” Judy’s smile was tinged with wry bitterness. “If you can look a skinhead in the eye after kicking his ass and still see that he’s still a human being, that he’s just a man, you’re not going to make the same mistakes Smith made.”
“Yeah, I’ll get to make new mistakes.” East grumbled, the retort slipping past his lips before he could catch the thought. But Judy just smiled, shrugging.
“We all do. It’s how we choose to learn from and react to our mistakes that lets us grow beyond them.”

While still on my 2HA high, I really want to talk about Chu Wanning's love for Mo Ran.
It is strange, isn't it? How deep his love goes when he only met little Mo Ran for a short while.
IMO, Chu Wanning is like Goj0 Sat0ru - the strongest but the loneliest. Everyone puts them on a pedestal which isolates them from building true connections with others.
For example, Xue Meng obviously loves and cares for Chu Wanning. However, he deeply respects and fears him too. He never sits beside his teacher when eating after all.
Coupled with Chu Wanning's temper and horrible social skills, he is an intimidating figure that would be really difficult to befriend.
Then little Mo Ran barges into his life. He disregarded all the social propriety bullshit and straight up demanded Chu Wanning to pay attention to him. He reached out and interacted Chu Wanning as a person - not some powerful figure to be revered and feared. For someone who has been treated as almost a "nonperson" because of his abilities for his entire life, that simple demand was special and kind in Chu Wanning's perspective.
So, imo, Chu Wanning is like Goj0 and Mo Ran is his "Get0". He loves him because, through sheer luck (aka fate), he is the first to see him beyond his powers and treat him as a real person.
So the next question then is when did Chu Wanning fell in love with Mo Ran?
I don't really know. In the beginning of the new timeline, Wanning is already in love with Mo Ran - he feels jealous of Shi Mei and feels wrong about having such feelings. I guess his love grew over time? Kinda like how Shi Mei and Mo Ran developed their feelings for him.
Maybe that's the case in 0.5 too but far more complicated. Chu Wanning loved Mo Ran. Fell in love with Mo Ran but never did anything about it because of Shi Mei. Probably fell out of love because of Taxian-Jun being Taxian-Jun. However, Chu Wanning's love for Mo Ran still endured despite everything especially when he realized his former disciple needed saving.
As for lusting after Mo Ran, I can only say poor Chu Wanning in the current(second?) timeline. The guy's already in love and ready to take his forbidden feelings to his grave. However, the soul fragment 0.5 Wanning put into him made him remember all his horrific experiences as an abused sex slave by Taxian-Jun... which he misinterpreted as wet dreams and triggered his lust. What a fucking mess. It would have been funny if it weren't so dark and depressing.

man okay so i’ve been thinking about the ending and the ways i think it’s flawed/my frustrations with it, but also why it does still work enough for me to at least not ruin the series as a whole/how it still tries to fit with the themes?? and i’ve also been applying headcanon to make it work better for me and to make me feel happier about the series overall, so if you’re curious!! take this post lol. (under the cut for length + manga spoilers for the whole series below!)
What initially bugged me about the ending most of all, and I finally managed to put it in words lol, is that there was never an explanation for how Mikey and Takemichi managed to leap back in time and fix everything. Because of that, to me, the key message of “everyone can be saved” and more importantly/centrally, “rely on your friends/don’t try and take on everything alone” gets muddied a bit?? Because it feels more like luck that things happened to work out. Like, Mikey finally puts his full trust in Takemichi and as a result - he ends up killing him!! And seemingly only manages to go back in time due to “luck”/an unexplained miracle. So the message it seems to (accidentally) send is that Mikey was right to try and take on everything alone, because when he put his trust in Takemichi he like. ended up killing him/his worst fear was confirmed??
That perspective on it was enough to put me off the series for a bit ngl, but I still love Tokyo Revengers overall - it has so much good in it that I really wanted to keep liking it, and I do think that the series isn’t completely ruined by the ending! And the main reason I’ve come to think that is because despite everything I just said... even if it’s only indirectly, it is Mikey choosing to open up to Takemichi and trusting him (by releasing his dark impulses after Takemichi said he could handle them) that led to the chain of events that triggered the happy ending. Like, in the end, he believed in Takemichi and trusted him to save him, and was rewarded for that narratively by being given the chance to time leap along with him. The message of “trusting/relying on others” is still there, in the end, even if it’s not as strong as it could’ve been as a result of the indirect way it happens. Hopefully that makes sense, and I hope it can help people come to be at peace with the ending a bit more to think about how it fits the themes of the series!
But also, as for my own reading of the ending... I’ve applied some headcanons that make it work even better for me as well, without actually contradicting canon (I hope). Headcanons are as follows:
So in my mind, Shinichiro’s curse actually had two aspects to it. The first was the punishment for choosing to kill in order to gain the power - but that punishment was technically already paid when Kazutora killed him later on. So Mikey’s curse/dark impulses was, according to this headcanon, not actually a result of Shinichiro becoming a murderer at all - most likely it was just due to the old man’s malice, wanting to hurt the people around Shinichiro as well.
Shinichiro being punished was fair, Mikey being punished for someone else’s crime wasn’t. So maybe the universe (yes, i am giving the universe some level of sentience here lol) gave Mikey a chance to break that curse, if he chose to open up about his struggles and didn’t try and take everything on alone. That could’ve been the condition for breaking the curse for any number of reasons - Mikey has always had a fixation on being “strong” and a hatred of weakness, so maybe the universe just decided that that was a suitable condition, since he’d have to overcome his flaws to do so??
Of course, predictably, Mikey did try and take it all on alone and refused to open up. And I’m not blaming him for that! He clearly thought it was both the only way to protect everyone, and was also deeply afraid of rejection from the people he loved if he actually talked about his issues - on top of letting them down/burdening them. But the point is - if you interpret the curse this way, the final time leap at the end of canon makes sense - it was because Mikey choosing to trust Takemichi to shoulder his burdens fulfilled the condition for breaking the curse. That’s still sort of  the case even without headcanons, but here it’s much more directly a result of how the curse functions to begin with, so (at least to me) it feels much less like luck that things worked out??
Hopefully that explanation made some kind of sense LOL i might just be talking nonsense or being pretentious, and if so I apologize!! But for me, I like the concept because it’s just expanding on themes that are already present in Tokyo Revengers just a little more. Personally, if I had to rely too much on headcanon to fix everything, I’d still be super dissatisfied, but since I can tell what Wakui was going for/that message of the story is still present canonically to some extent, I’ve come to feel decently satisfied with the ending overall now!
On another note, I’ve also seen people complain that the show loses impact by making Mikey’s actions a result of the supernatural and not trauma, since it turns the show from an explanation of real-life issues into just a convenient curse that explains everything. I actually think this is a completely fair criticism tbh, but I tend to imagine that what drove Mikey to violence was actually a result of the curse AND his trauma mixing together. Specifically, the curse caused the violent urges, but it was his trauma that led to him being unable to resist them, and his views on strength and weakness that led to him being unable to manage them healthily, if that makes sense??
Anyway this post is already too long so. Share your thoughts and headcanons on the ending below, I’d love to hear them!! <3

ppl will just reblog posts w outright historical misinformation in them
#source: just trust me bro#text post#if a claim sounds strong and compelling you should still fact-check it#bc ppl will make very specific statements like 'oh this specific thing happened after this thing happened as a result of--' and#theyre getting the order of the timeline messed up#and no one is pointing that out. like. ok#i dont like to get my hands dirty on tumblr dot com so you know it wont be me doing that#it tends not to really do anything bc by the time it gets out there... it's already out there#there's already a mistruth on however many ppl's blogs. i've never seen someone directly comment misinfo on my dash#but ppl happily REBLOG it all the time.#and i get it like i get it we all wanna reblog stuff that affirms our world view#this is why i tend not to blog much about social/political issues very much anymore#bc this happens all the time when ppl try to make objective claims#or when they do cite sources the sources will often have their own problems and/or be misquoted#im very skeptical of information i find or see shared on here#which is not to say that my own personal politics are changed or even that theyre vastly different from ppl partaking in them on here#but. like. geez you know it feels like there's no way to win or participate in a useful discourse anymore#idk how to talk about serious issues online in 2024 and it's quite dispiriting honestly#there are no standards anywhere anymore.#everything moves too fast and we want easy satisfaction and that's a huge reason why misinformation is so effective#all across the political spectrum but especially on platforms where it's easy to form an echochamber

Okay, I like this maker. Here, ladies and gentlemen, we can see young Belial hitting on Simeon:
Tumblr media
I think when Belial and Simeon first met they were still teenagers by demon/angel standards.
It was a diplomatic trip that the Devildom's royal family (consisting of the Demon King, Diavolo and Belial) took to the Celestial Realm. For Belial, Simeon stood out to her as one of the youngest angels amongst his rank, and she immediately got captivated by his mischievous smile and intelligent eyes.
They both understood that she used her status as a royal guest on a diplomatic visit to approach him so that he wouldn’t be able to turn her down, but Simeon didn’t mind either way. He was curious too. Belial, delicately avoiding the sphere of politics and geography, asked many questions about the culture of the Celestial Realm and what it's like to be an angel, along with some more personal questions about Simeon himself (What does he think about humans and their world? Does he actually like the life of virtue? What are his hobbies? What kind of literature does he like to read?) Simeon, on the other hand, was interested in what life was like for a demon and carefully listened to all the comparisons Belial makes between Celestial Realm and Devildom, sometimes asking for details about what it’s like to be a royalty in hell and, by the way, how often does she visit Human Realm? Just asking because maybe they could meet again sometime…
But honestly, at this point other angels weren't even surprised that Simeon befriended a demon.
And that was the start of a millennia-lasting friendship that may have started with mere infatuation but grew to later become an actual romance.

(TMI physical health)
I officially had the WORST food poisoning I can recall in my life yet... Woke up at 3 AM and since then kept throwing up nonstop until 1 PM, including any water and meds I tried to eat. I swear I've lost way too much acid and bile, and it was painful..
Now, thankfully, it stopped, but I still feel absolutely weak and destroyed. I actually started to be nervous that I'd perish from dehydration, because, again, absolutely nothing would stay in my stomach. So yeah, sorry, I'm gonna be half-dead for a bit..

does anybody remember when I accurately predicted how game of thrones tv show would end bc I had a basic understanding of how the Tudor dynasty ended. lol.
#like genuinely the parallels in the book aren’t even slick#<-although again let’s hope the book series doesn’t end same as the show LOL#Robert = Henry viii#Joffrey and tommen as Edward vi (boy prince who dies young)#dare I say stannis = Mary I bc religious extremism#Cersei as lady Jane grey probably#or if you want the whole ‘named someone their successor in their will and got killed very quickly’ you could say that she’s Ned#although then succession order would be wrong#that does leave us without an Elizabeth though. renly is my Elizabeth I though 😞#and THEN you get James I coming down from#Scotland to sort out everyone’s mess 🥴#<- and that’s why I guessed a stark. and an unimportant one at that who hadn’t been involved in the fighting I argued. it’s funny that I was#except he was gay and everyone hated him and he set in motion what led to the civil war so 🤷‍♀️#anyway as a girlie with a history degree nothing in those books is insanely#shocking to ME personally. although it’s interesting to see how my opinions have shifted in the last 4 years#early modern U.K. isn’t even rly my era and I still know this sndjdkfkf#also I know#in theory everyone says the books are based on war of the roses but imho robs rebellion works better in that sense than anything else#so then I use the Tudors as my framing for what goes on during the timeline#but again it’s all circular bc you have the war of the roses and not too much later you get the English civil war so#anyway dynasties I actually studied at uni are like. the Carolingians and Capetians and Hohenstaufen’s / Holy Roman Empire#and then tang song and Sui . which all give me a lot of perspective on how these processes work#election based succession no look at Holy Roman Empire#‘best amongst brothers’ succession yes look at dynastic China#my conclusion here is that renly was correct rip 🫡#<- although I would be remiss to not highlight that several Chinese dynasties did practise primogeniture. but many of the most successful#ones didn’t#like I still can’t believe so many fans still think renly was insane like blood tanistry literally was such a thing historically that it#even has a silly sounding name. it was widely practised#him wanting to call an older brother is also what dany did and no one shits on her for that 🥴

Just wanted to say your knowledge of movies in general and Thor lore in specific in amazing!
Realistically speaking, can we expect to see Fosterson together again? I still have hope in my heart that we will.
Thank you, Nonny ❤ Your words are very kind! I'm lucky enough to have had some amazing teachers who were able to help me understand story fundamentals... so it's a topic very near and dear to my heart.
And my friend I have a twofold answer. Speaking optimistically, and betting on Thor's success as a standalone franchise, and as an avengers franchise, I do think it's possible. Or in the very least, it's surely possible to at least see Thor again for a fifth (and preferably final) standalone installment.
He's a consistent money-maker. Even Love and Thunder made about as much as the other films in the THOR franchise, with each film grossing about 3.75 times the production budget of each film. (Fun fact: Thor (2011) and Thor: Love and Thunder both made ~3.0 times the production budget, versus Dark World that did 4.3 times better, and Ragnarok that did 4.7.) Critically, his worst film is L+T at 63%. This is actually worse than Dark World which sits ~67%, and between the two it's pretty clear that L+T is not a fan-favorite, but he DOES make money, and continues to be incredibly well-liked regardless. Something that I'd wager Marvel's Phase 4+ needs. Thor has prestige, and people like him and his actor. He's consistently made profits for Marvel in ALL of his films, so Marvel would be pretty stupid not to double down for a fifth movie and the promise of "thor will return". (And as much as I loathe the film, L+T might have gotten some of the mcu normies to actually bother at least paying attention to Jane, whether it's for good reason or not.) So it's a bit of a no-brainer to bring back a character, and one of the last mcu couples, that is reliable. People like heroes and they like romance. Fosterson is both rolled into one.
Within this thought process, I do think that if Marvel knew what was good for it (...debatable... but again being optimistic) then they would reunite Thor with Jane and the rest of his family where he belongs. Give him that happy ending he so deserves as the final survivor of his original cast (discounting Sif), and of the Avengers' Big Three. No one in the whole of the Avengers franchise deserves a happy ending more than Thor does.
So with that in mind, for Thor's next appearance, either it's bring back Jane similarly to the end of the Mighty Thor comic arc, or have Thor end up in Valhalla where the whole rest of his cast is. Either way, Fosterston fans like you and me would ultimately get what we want (the two reunited). Then it's a matter of "but would it feel earned to the audience who's kept with Thor for the past decade"?
As it stands: Thor is in an odd position where his options are limited, but still technically open as a character. Narratively his story simply will not be finished until he's been put to rest one way or another... Ultimately he needs to find peace, and I think anyone in the MCU fanbase can at least agree that MCU!Thor won't be able to for as long as all of his castmates are dead or otherwise written out of the picture. (Thanks to the decision to write Thor out of Asgard by revoking his birthright he can't even at least have THAT as a reason to keep going.) Even Hemsworth feels as much, whether he'll say it so explicitly or not. ("Thor lost his mind that last one. He’s got to figure it out now.")
Really a reunion should be in a 5th installment, but if they wanted to play it cheap they could maybe wrap up Thor's story in a B Plot or a cameo in whatever they have lined up for Avengers: Secret Wars. Were it up to me I would argue ostensibly that it's a "pick one" situation at this point in time. (and given they might attempt to shoehorn TVA!Loki into meeting MCU!Thor at some point to call that a day, the most profitable answer seems pretty cut and dry.)
Realistically speaking within that...? I think that all depends on Marvel/Disney's budget, and ...honestly, probably Chris Hemsworth on the whole.
There are many shifting variables in Hollywood right now. Lots of budget cuts, cancelled tv shows and films, job losses, etc. While I think the big names and upper league of the industry are going to come out relatively unscathed, I do think that Disney/Marvel may need to slow its productions down, and greatly decrease the quality and quantity in order to survive. That, and, again, the fact of the matter is that the quality of Marvel's Phase 4+ has been pretty hot garbage.
Which then leads me back to the point that: Thor is a decent money maker. He's still got material to work with if they wanted to wrap him/Chris' iteration of him up as they did with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. And this is keeping in mind that Chris Evans, despite Steve's story definitely being wrapped, is willing to come back for cameos in future appearances out of respect and love for his character.
....That said, you'll notice that I mention "respect and love for his character" when mentioning Chris Evans. Frankly, Chris Hemsworth is a bit more of a wild card. I've mentioned it (here), but it seems as though Hemsworth has largely fallen out of love with Thor. Now, when I say that I don't mean that he hates Thor. Thor is a very special character to him. Something he has stated multiple times in interviews — especially since becoming Thor really helped launch his career forward.
... The GOOD news is Chris has commented on coming back for future Thor films.
“Yeah, I think [Marvel] always [teases the characters return in films]. Look, I’m completely open to it, [...] I’ve always loved the experience. I’ve been very thankful I’ve been able to do something different each time.”
The ... BAD news is he's also commented on being largely contented with the character as is (albeit wanting to move on from Taika's take) and otherwise finding him "boring", and that there is not a lot he'd want to do with Thor now that they've spanned the course of ... mostly everything.
“You look at Thor 1 and 2, they were quite similar. Ragnarok and Love and Thunder are similar. I think it’s about reinventing it. I’ve had such a unique opportunity with Infinity War and Endgame to do very drastic things with the character. I enjoy that, I like keeping people on their toes. It keeps me on my toes. It keeps me invested. I’ve said this before but when it becomes too familiar, I think there’s a risk in getting lazy then because I know what I’m doing. So I don’t know."
He, like Evans and Downey Jr. I'm sure, wants a happy ending for his character — and I would argue that absolutely includes Jane, but the course of Disney/Marvel's Phase 4 is uncertain, because they seem to have no plan. Or at least not one beyond "insert cool cameo here"
...And Chris' faith in the character that kickstarted a large portion of his career has seemed to have utterly tanked in recent years especially. (Particularly since it's been rather hot and cold for him. If a film does well and is written wonderfully, then there isn't enough Loki in it so the MCU fanbase decides to go nutty. If it's written poorly with an ill-cast director, it does well. But then when they double down on that ill-casted director people get fed up with it because the Russo Bros. did it better in Infinity War and rightfully so. Though Chris seems to favor the IW depiction too so even he isn't immune.) So it's hard to say whether or not Chris will actually take up another contract, fulfill any that he's (allegedly) previously made or make so much as a cameo appearance to fulfill that "Thor Will Return" we were promised at the end of L+T.
"I have no idea. I've said it before, it all depends on the type of story. It has to be something unique. What I don't want is to do the same with the character until the end, until there is a feeling of exhaustion in the audience. But if there is excitement for it, I am always willing to return. If there is a new story, it has to be something very special. I'm sure there's something exciting to tell, so we'll have to wait and see. You have to wait to find it." "Again, I don’t know if I’m even invited back. But if I was, I think it would have to be a drastically different version in tone, everything, just for my own sanity… (laughs) … Thor lost his mind that last one. He’s got to figure it out now."
I'm afraid that sounds rather dour... but unless we actually get confirmation of a Thor 5, or Thor appearance in the inevitable Avengers movies down the line, it's really just... hard to say. As ever this is all simply hypothetical conjecture based on sheer observation. Though of course, I don't work for Marvel. And even if I did, NDAs exist, so it's not as if I could confirm or deny anything anyways. We simply have to wait and see.
PERSONALLY if I were to take a crack at it, I'd at least give Thor a 5th movie, completely wrap him up in a way that is respectful to his character while also ... attempting to acknowledge and semi-respect what Marvel has already done thus far ... and then leave the rest up to cameo and side character appearances, like what they're doing with Evans and Steve Rogers.

I know it's a continuity error and she's canonically 18 in Scream 5, but based on the birthdate on Tara's hospital wristband, Tara would actually be 19

drawing is difficult for me and writing is something i’m considerably better at sooooo…
written list of ideas i have for a humanoid design for bellum bc i think im finally zeroing in on something after a few uhhh years of brainstorming
(if you read this and have like. some ideas you want to share or some possible [constructive] criticisms go ahead and share them if you want)
Not actually properly humanoid; he can take on a fully human look but it isn’t his default and requires a bit more energy
Therefore, he usually lacks ears (they’re just. holes), finger or toe nails, a navel, an adam’s apple, or basically any kind of human detail that could be easily overlooked at first glance (maybe leaning into a bit uncanny?). He does have these traits when he actually puts the effort in to pass as human
The traits shared between his usual humanoid form and the more explicitly human form are: an eyepatch over his left eye (he doesn’t have a left eye or eye socket in either form. it’s like one-eyed willy in goonies), yellow hair (actually the same color as link’s), a lack of a nose (effectively like it’s been torn off, just leaving the nostril lines/openings), and a lot of large scars pretty much everywhere (some are just normal looking scars, like one across his face that looks like items from a wound that cost him his nose, while others vaguely resemble the markings on his body when he’s in demon/normal form), so either way he’s going to draw attention
In his usual form (more obviously nonhuman) his left eye is his usual black and orange eye, and he has sharp teeth, but he can switch those to appear more human if he’d like
He’s below the average height and appears to be only slightly muscular, logically more built for flexibility or with the build of a dancer, but his demonic strength remains, though his speed and flexibility is limited by the form he takes
His hair is a mess and mostly short, and if he’s in the more demonic-leaning human form, it’s usually got streaks of black (black is in there in some way, how it appears is still a wip) in all of the yellow
Clothing can vary but most commonly he chooses something loose and casual, he doesn’t particularly value his clothes and doesn’t really have anything to hide and so pick stuff that won’t drag him down or get snagged in a fight, flimsy loose clothes are good
Other times he’ll wear boots and gauntlets and gloves in a more serious context, usually opting for designs and materials similar to what he gives his phantoms, he doesn’t fully lean into the phantom-style of armor or fighting unless he needs to focus on defense, however
In either of his human forms, he’s still capable of fighting (and in his more demonic form he can use his tentacles, the come from his back), and doesn’t so much as have a fighting style as he generally just kills with whatever seems most convenient or entertaining at the time, ranging from creating a weapon for himself to use to just bashing a guy’s skull in with his bare hands
He’s very violent but can talk just fine and can be just about eloquent if he wants but usually leans into being more chaotic and acting the part of a brutal ruffian if the job can be completed using force, so a lot of the time he doesn’t even bother with looking explicitly human most of the time
He greatly prefers his demonic form and uses the human form for specific reasons, and can’t actually use it if he’s too weak
#bellum height is weird bc my idea of a tall/short ph realted character got skewed bad when i decided linebeck is 6’ 8”#now that im writing this out ive realized that im reasoning thst bellum’s human form looks the way it does to lure in prey yknow#he tries to look normal and friendly and unassuming and then he fucking kills you brutally or just by turning you to stone#it’s less like. gijinka or whatever and more just a form he can temporarily take if he wants and half of the time doesnt bother passing#he takes human form to more easily communicate or to directly get info from people or if he wants to do some brawling or whatever#timeline of humanoid bellum’s nose: went from vague nose shape to missing half the nose to just missing the whole nose#bellum having the same hair color as link is something i use to my advantage. he absolutely abuses looking related to link#im mostly having fun with his human design but it is something i need to figure out bc he does use it in a lot of my aus#this is a mess but its fine just wanted to share what ideas i have bc good lord this is hard#its harder to create a design for an existing nonhuman than to just whip one up for an oc obviously but still. man#listen unconsciously assigning 21st century schizoid man as my bellum song was good and bad at the same time#amazing vibes for this character fantastic now i have to work on the now-inherent prog/jazz rock vibes bc that doesnt fit the setting#also mixed dirty little animals in there so now we’ve got this crude and raucous scrappy demon who starts bar fights to bare-handedly kill#this kinda just turned into 'bellum w/ a human form headcanons' but ig its hard to talk abt visuals without. visuals#he changes depending on au cuz its the idea of like. immortal being learning from and adapting to their changing surroundings kinda thing#i think my personal fears abt this stuff is that then bellum comes off as v. like. edgy#also might be a bit of over-designing or whatever but idk???? accepting constructive criticism for a reason#loz#legend of zelda#phantom hourglass#bellum#salty talks#really putting this out there huh. ew. lol.#shoutouts to bellum's human form and my oc damien fletcher for finally getting somewhat stable designs after actual years
