I've seen a meta about how the most misogynistic way Hori has treated his female characters and how Hori treated Todoroki Rei the worst in this regard.

So it leads me to want to ask you - which female character of Hori's do you feel has been treated the most misogynistically?

I'll list a few examples of who I feel have been treated poorly.

Midnight - was literally a walking talking bondage costume whose whole deal was about sex despite being a teacher. Was killed by a meaningless mook and her importance as part of the OG teacher friendship trio has been shafted hard with the Kurogiri reveal.

Toga - Her character is essentially a "blood themed yandere" when she could have been a really good explanation as to how a quirk can adversely affect someone's mental state.

Yaoyorozo Momo - poor girl has the highest intelligence of 1a and a super versatile quirk yet is never allowed by Hori to use those smarts or that quirk to the full potential.

Todoroki Fuyumi - like you I do see what Hori is going for with her wishing for a happy family. However, I don't like how Hori makes all the women in the Todoroki family willing to forgive Endeavor.

Your thoughts?

So I had to step back and really think about this and I think I have my answer.

It's actually a two way tie between Mirko and Hagakure.

Mirko: For being the only female hero with visible muscles and meant to be a kickass one at that, she's just female Bakugou. You would think she would take Izuku under her wing and train him since she might some of herself in him... but no she likes Bakugou instead. Not to mention how Hori went out of his way to make g*re p*rn of her and made that one image of her during the second war... Not a good for black people I'll say that much.

Hagakure: I feel like out of all the girls in 1-A, Hagakure has been treated the worst. Because of the fact that Hori's so hellbent on making her a gag character of running around in her birthday suit and even though she FEELS like she at least has a personality of a cheery bubbly girl, it's not enough for her to stand out. I wanna see how she feels about her quirk not making her visible, how she feels about her hero costume. But instead we get an illustration of her visible but naked.

Congratulations Hori, you've proven that you're a pervert that doesn't care about personality!

ya know what, my thoughts are:

- ive kinda conditioned my brain to see villain momo and then good person jirou but i have seen aus where theyre both villains??? dope.

- as for if the roles were reversed and JIROU was the villain and momo was the “good guy”

- if im being honest im struggling to come up with any proper reason for her to become a villain? she did have that whole arc where she was all mom dad i wanna be a hero thing, but fuck the canon sjsj i ship momojirou i don’t believe in canon 💕

- maybe she was bribed into villainy? completely unwilling participant but she grows to like it and completely converses?

- maybe she grew up hating heroes because she hates the idea of being higher up in the social hierarchy if youre a hero and being immediately shamed when you rebel or question it. because lets be fair, any system where there is a supreme source of power that is encouraged and anyone who has differing opinions is punished is inherently flawed.

- maybe she was like momo in my au, no where else to go but to the other side??

- but i have seen lots of takes that jirous a spy because of her quirk and theyre so fuckin cool

i mean those are only some of the possible motivation to why she’d turn to be a villain / chose to be a villain, but as for her design?

- definitely the dark purple aesthetic

- she uses a bat and you convince me otherwise

- definitely has montage music playing in her brain when she fights

- i love love love love the ripped shirt / scruffy outfit aesthetic she has. good for her

Awase Yosetsu’s quirk is the complete opposite of Shigaraki’s.

Not Momo’s ‘Creation’ or even OfA. Weld is the true opposite of disintegration.

Shigaraki- disintegrates things at a MOLECULAR level

Awase- ‘welds’ (cough cough joins) things together at an ATOMIC level.

Like for now Awase has to be touching both things to weld them together, but Shigaraki used to need five fingers. If Awase Yosetsu has enough training (and or a whole lot of trigger) he could stop Shigaraki’s rampage by himself. In this essay I will
