Rurouni Kenshin refuting the Cartesian view of the mind and advocating for Aristotelian hylomorphism. I think something can be said about how the Cartesian view of the mind is severing the progress in psychological treatment. Modern people tend to think that the mind and body are separate but usually what happens to the mind can affect the body. Somewhat who keeps thinking self-deprecating thoughts will naturally have less energy than someone who always have a positive outlook in life.

A Reincarnation Experiment

Bodies and brains experience space and time, since they are part of the physical universe and are subject to its laws.

But I believe that minds are eternal. They exist outside of time, which is why we only ever experience the subjective, eternal present.

Repeated studies have found that human actors can (slightly) alter random number generation in computers. This effect, while small, has been replicated over several decades under varied conditions.

I hypothesize that minds can imperceptively influence probabilities at the quantum level, but that it takes considerable practice to accomplish and is difficult for minds to do during the course of a lifetime while they are bound to bodies and brains. Even if successful, such manipulation would be virtually indistinguishable from random noise. We attribute it to "luck", and haven't we all known someone who seems to've been born with more/less than their share? Apart from "luck", it appears to require focused intention and affect for an embodied mind to pull off. This power to manipulate probabilities diminishes if it is overused, which is why statistical analysis can't pick it up from large samples except as a slight patterns of deviation from expected results over many repetitions. In other words, "luck".

Research on NDEs suggests that, in a crisis situation, an embodied mind can temporarily "step back" from the brain and slow down/speed up the perception of time. I believe that minds are able to do this because they exist outside of time. In a life-threatening situation your mind can review potential futures and select one. The mind then backs up the chain of causality from the desired future state to a critical earlier moment when the future is "set" by a chance set of entangled quantum outcomes. Your mind then makes the necessary quantum observations to ensure that the "right" outcome occurs at the proper time. If I'm correct that the physical Universe is superdeterministic, then hey presto the resulting quantum entanglement should ensure that the desired future event comes to pass. The physical Universe was created by minds to act as a stage where they could embody and shape Reality.

Minds that are unbound from brains and bodies (e.g., during the bardo state between lifetimes) are considerably more powerful than embodied minds, and can influence events more strongly. There are reports that individuals who are highly adept at meditation can influence the circumstances of their rebirth (e.g., the Dalai Lama is in his 14th reincarnation at present, and a centuries-old prophecy predicted that the 14th Dalai Lama would be very great as well as the last of the line.)

That is how I intend to test my hypothesis. After my passing, I will attempt to reincarnate as an orange cat with distinctive markings. Reincarnation research suggests that birthmarks can be passed on from one lifetime to the next. I've asked my husband to mark my deceased body with a large, easily recognized and visually distinctive pattern and document it with photographs. If successful, I will be reborn as a cat having a birthmark on its fur that corresponds to the marks left on my body at the time of my death. I will attempt to use the quantum entanglement idea to return to my husband as this cat. There is of course no guarantee that I will be able to do this, but if I do it will be strong evidence that my theory is on to something.
