“Why’d we have to wear closed-toe shoes?” Colin is asking from the passenger seat.

Iggy chimes in, “Not like we wear anything else anyway.”

“You’ll see in like ten minutes. God, stop bitchin’!” Mickey is getting annoyed.

Mandy huffs out a sigh. They’ve been driving past industrial buildings for at least five minutes and it’s hard to imagine this turning into a promising evening. It’s uncomfortable stuffed in the backseat of this little Honda with Mickey pressed against her and Iggy to his right. They’re bundled up in their winter coats, heat building between them. She doesn’t want to ask, knows she won’t get an answer but impatience is getting to her, “Fuckin’ christ, Mickey. Where are we goin’?”

Mickey squirms and knocks his booted foot against hers, trying to spread his legs. “Patience, bitch. Not much longer.”

“Can’t you just tell us? I’d like to know why we��re in the middle of fuckin’ nowhere, too.” Colin asks.

Mickey is resolute, “It’s a surprise, asshole. Them’s the rules.”

The three of them grumble in response.

Their Lyft driver, Beth, laughs. “Honestly, I’m a little curious about this whole thing, too. What are the rules for?”

“Cause none of-“

“Without rules-“

“-these jerks-“

Mandy snaps. “Definitely all speak at once.”

“Alright something old, new, borrowed, and blue. What the fuck can I use for this?” He muttered to himself scribbling into his wedding notebook as Sandy sat across from him at the table looking through different wedding cake catalogues from the bakeries in town.

“Don’t forget a sixpence in your shoe.” She added in near disinterest as she flipped a page, “How about lavender flavored cake?”

“A sixpence in my shoe? And no, I don’t want to be eating something that tastes like perfume.”

“Yeah, a sixpence in your shoe, that’s the rest of that saying.”

“That’s fucking stupid.” Mickey huffed in annoyance, debating on writing “sixpence” under his “need” column in the notebook.

“So is the rest of it.” She pointed out with a smirk.

“Where the hell would I even get a sixpence?” Mickey asked looking at her incredulously.

She laughed, “That one isn’t as common as the other four, especially when currency changed it just became the old, new, borrowed and blue. What about orange blossom?"

Mickey wrinkled his nose in disgust, "No, how about some red fucking velvet? Or double chocolate?"

"What kind of cake does Ian like?" Sandy asked glancing up at Mickey, her tongue dabbing at her lip ring.

"He likes funfetti cake, the one with the fuckin rainbow sprinkles and chips in it." Mickey huffed.

Sandy laughed, "Well I shouldn't be surprised."

something i physically can’t get over with shameless is all the deleted scenes from season 4 which are SO IMPORTANT to Mickey’s character. like sure, we all talk about how important the ones from season 11 were as well and im not denying that - they’re literally some of my favourite scenes ever. but the season 4/5 ones??? the one where mickey tries to convince mandy to leave kenyatta?? the one where mickey says not to hit women?? the one where he announces he ‘got into it’ with kenyatta?? it seemed so out of character for him to just not care about mandy being in an abusive relationship - they so badly should have kept them in. it helps establish that although mickeys family is not the same as the gallagher’s, him and mandy are still close and love each other. ALSO- ian’s vision???? come onnnn you can’t leave that out it’s not fairrr

ultear is back to normal in this bc i make the rules

None of them are touchy feely types, but man would they die for eachother

Gray and Ultear get ‘mistaken’ as siblings constantly, and Lyon is absolutely not jealous of it, he swears!

They are both pretty protective of Gray for obvs reasons (little brother and he was technically both their turning points)

even more so after his death to the dragons

also stemming from their guilt

the reasons dont matter, but they would give him the world if he asked

Lyon Vastia, also known as the ‘Resident Drama Queen’

but theyre all dramatic

Lyon is just naturally extra

Ultear is allergic to cats

it was devastating to find out

Lyon and Ultear grew close during the 7 years Fairy Tail was missing, it made them gravitate towards eachother

they mourned Gray together (even though neither could fully accept he was most likely dead), spoke about their guilt (Ultear told Lyon about what she did on Tenrou, and her involvement in Galuna) and got to know one another

When Lyon found out Fairy Tail was back he dropped everything and booked the next train to magnolia

He tried to get in contact with her on the way there, but communication was always tricky with her job

After Ultear was like, reinstated (or whatever the word is) she dragged them both to a bunch random events and restaurants and just a lot of places

Gray pulls the ‘poor sweet little brother’ and ‘and here I thought you were a good older [brother/sister]’ card on them at every denial they give him

it works every time

Gray lets Ultear, Jellal, and Meredy crash/hide at his place if they want, it allowed him to get to know them, and for them to have a safe haven

Gray told Erza after a couple months of this going on and she started suspiciously visiting Grays house more often

They have a groupchat, Gray’ll bother the fuck out of them in the middle of the night bc hes bored and his sleeping schedule is shit

or he’ll send incriminating and alarming photos/messages and drop off the face of the earth for awhile

Lyon pretends its annoying and says as much but it finds it comforting to wake up with texts every morning

although, 47 separate messages from one person about the chronicles of a stray cat is a little excessive

Ultear indulges him since Crime Sorciere does most of their traveling at night

Lyon and Gray have a running bet on if she sleeps

they have a standing bimonthly meeting, sometimes they’ll meet before that but it there is always a fixed plan just incase

Sometimes I think about how Mickey & the Milkovich’s very first storyline is centered around them getting revenge on someone who they think hurt their little sister.

Mickey was just scouring the south side with a bat prepared to do ANYTHING for her without any question or need for proof, clearly so protective of her & his family. And the way no one’s even surprised by it shows that this isn’t the first time the Milkovich boys have gone after someone they think has fucked with Mandy.

They grew up in a house of horrors where all they had was each other, it almost seems like if they couldn’t protect each other from Terry, then at least they could do whatever they could to protect each other from everyone else.

And then that side of their dynamic which was set up as such a core element of their family was just forgotten about and never really explored again after, but I WISH we could’ve seen more of it.

I think mickey and mandy were close when they were kids. They would always be together, yk being the youngest siblings. It just makes sense to me that they are the kind of siblings that split apart with age. I think more than age tho, something bad probably something happened that made them drift apart. My guess is that it was when their mum died sometime between s1 and s2 cause they seem friendly enough in s1.

They went from kids who did everything together to hiding from each other. Mickey never officially comes out to mandy, and when mandy is being abused by her bf, she doesn't go to mickey for help. In s1 Mickey is read to kill Ian because he had done something bad to Mandy (obvs we know ian didn't actually do anything but still) but mickey doesn't do anything to kenyatta ?? I think that's just bad writing cause we all know how far mickey will go for the people he loves but it does kinda fit the idea that they ain't as close as they used to be.

The house they grew up in wasn't the kinda environment with love. The Gallaghers cling together as a way to cope, but the milkoviches ain't like that. They are unhealthily independent, they clean their messes on their own. So when they got older and the messes got bigger they started to go off on their own. No support system when they desperately needed it. But they are ain't kids anymore and Terry is dead, they don't have to be alone. I like the idea of them getting closer again and Ian being a lil confused. Yeah Ian knew they loved each other but he wasn't expecting them to have so many old inside jokes or the way they roll their eyes at the same time and look at each other knowingly when something they find interesting happens.

Mickey and mandy were pushed away from each other when they were teens, but they grow and they come back together and I love that.

I have a headcanon that the Milkovich siblings get matching tattoos. Just can't decide exactly what they would get. I like sunflowers for their Ukraine heritage. each others names? initials? Winnie the Pooh quotes? (I've been on a Winnie the Pooh kick and have quotes for the siblings). Maybe when Terry dies they get birds flying because they're finally free. Or maybe something minimalistic like four small circles.

new fanfic!!

canon divergent season 3 ep 5, when Mickey also yells at Lip for what he said to Mandy, because I rewatched the ep and just needed some protective sibling Mickey.

here's a snippet:

“I was. Until the asshole yelled at me and told me to fucking leave.” Mandy says bitterly.

“He said that?” Her brother asks, eyebrows raised menacingly. 

“Yep. But I’m over it. He’s a prick anyway.” She tries to sound flippant, but is fully aware that Mickey probably sees right through it.

“Yeah, sure.” He rolls his eyes and makes his way to his room. Mandy takes that as the end of their brother-sister bonding and leaves. 

As she walks down the porch steps, the front door opens behind her. 

“What are you doing?” Mandy asks, exasperation coating her voice. 

Mickey closes the door and looks at her smugly. There’s a bat clasped in his fist which she knows belongs to their dad and a cigarette dangling from his lips. 

“None of your business, bitch.” He tells her, walking past and making his way up the street. 

“Don’t kill him!” She calls after him and gets waved off.
