Don’t get me wrong I actually love mermaid dresses and I think it actually looks good on this rendition of Sally…but I’m bored. I think this is the fifth or sixth mermaid dress we have from monster high skullector dolls now and while I do still think it looks good on Sally, I feel like it’s not her.
Now let me start by saying I’m a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan so I was not happy when these dolls were teased because I had minimal faith (sorry mattel!) but I’m actually very very happy about these designs. Do I think they could be better? Yes and that’s what I’m going to talk about in this post.
First thing first. Mermaid dress. Nope. I actually wholeheartedly believe that the dress in the first image below is what inspired her Skullector dress (I also think that the figurine pulled it off better but I believe it’s because of the long skirt, I would personally not be a big fan if a collector doll had a long skirt that covered the shoes, especially for a brand like monster high who makes some of the most incredible shoes!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I believe all of these figures are official Disney figures, somebody please correct me if I’m wrong)
These bottom looks (specifically the last one) is what I really leaned into and would have preferred, I drew up a little sketch of a dress I think would have fit her better.
Tumblr media
I think her gown should have had a larger skirt, the whole reason that her original dress looks scrappy is because it’s literally made from scraps that she finds I think that they could have kept the scrap patter but given her more volume, the sleekness of her actual skullector dress seems like they’re trying to use minimal fabric which isn’t super fun for a collector doll. On the sides of her skirt I have her little fabric pieces that match Jack’s iconic pinstripe pattern and the tendril (?) bits he has on his skullector outfit, I think it’s a nice way to make them look cohesive instead of the orange and black striped thing they have going on.
I LOVE the mesh on the bottom of Sally’s skullector dress and in my reimagining of her that is still absolutely there but perhaps underneath the main skirt or even overtop where the spider web bit is at the waist.
The first thing I did when I saw this doll was zoom in and check for raw edges and I actually laughed when I didn’t see any. Mattel you have given us several skullector dolls with raw edges and the time that you actually make a rag doll character who has ripped and sewn fabrics YOU DONT GIVE HER RAW HEMS?? Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining but it’s just hilarious to me because this is the one time they could really get away with it and I would just shrug and not be able to complain.
Last things I would change about these dolls are; give Jack a little top hat or something, I think it would add a dramatic flare which is what we should expect, it might not stay on his very round head and I would not want them to use a peg of any sort though (seriously doll companies, think about utilizing magnets.) The red on their shirt and hair seems so loud it’s almost glowing, it’s a bit weird to me but it could just be pictures and contrast. And lastly …WE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN ZERO 🥲 imagine how cute a little see through Zero (think like Rhuen) would be!!!!

a bit anxious about posting this, but i wanted to show off my meeshell mermaid custom that i just finished!
i loved her design in the show, and was really dissapointed when the actual doll looked nothing like her, so i made my own !!
i also think mattel had a missed opportunity in giving meeshell a wheelchair instead of just having her magically able to walk on land even though she hadn't gone through her story yet!
more info about what i used/more rambling under the cut!
-i was not a big fan of the later ever after high face molds, so i used a legacy day ashlynn ella as a base! she had really similar eye makeup to meeshell, so it worked out great :)
-her face repaint just includes the stars around her eyes with glitter, purple eyebrows and a slightly bigger lip in that same color.
-i made her earrings and hair piece with floral wire and beads i got at michaels and a shell i had lying around.
-her hair is rerooted with a mix of 10mm curly blossom, ballet pink, and pink & silver tinsel from The Doll Planet Hair on etsy! i brushed it out a bit and cut it to length.
-her outfit is from the original meeshell doll with the top repainted with acrylic mixed with fabric medium. and for the little details painted on the plastic parts of her outfit, i used acrylic and some glitter paint.
-i made the mermaid fin using this no sew tutorial by TheDollBoy on youtube.
-her wheelchair is a barbie wheelchair with a shell pattern felt sheet and starfish that i got from michaels glued to the inside of the wheels.
-her hands are actually an extra pair of g1 lagoona blue hands that i had lying around, painted to match her skin tone! i also used a glitter topcoat over her face and body.
-the stand in the bottom middle picture is from the deluxe little mermaid halle bailey doll !

My latest Monster High G3 custom... Lagoona Black.
Like... Black Lagoon. Only. Reversed. Yes, I think I'm funny ;)
She's originally the Fearidescent Lagoona... and I guess I wanted her to match her locker (black locker with pale blue doors). The only thing I kept was the shirt, hair, and icecream. Purple fur boa is from G3 Abbie. Skirt and shoes are from Shadow High. Hair clips from Dollar Tree. Seashell purse is from a different Lagoona, I think? Necklace and bracelet from a Mermaid High doll.
Shoutout to other doll customizers who mentioned that Rainbow High/ Shadow High clothes fit G3 Monster High dolls. And that nail art brushes are better for doing fine details around the eyes than craft brushes.
Here's the original for comparison, I plan on using the other outfit pieces and accessories on other dolls, I feel very mix-and-match about my growing collection:

Mart of Wal scroll - dolls on sale (May 19, 2024)
Mattel Monster High Draculaura and coffin caboodle (not really - that's just what I call it). It was $40 forever, but now it's down to under $20:
Tumblr media
MGA Entertainment Mermaidz Mermaze Nova with glitter tail, $9:
Tumblr media
I have one (not her). The stand is a most welcome addition. Do not get any part of that outfit wet unless you want a real mess on your hands.
MGA Entertainment (deep inhale) Rainbow High Rainbow Vision Shadow High Neon Shadow Uma Vanhoose, $20:
Tumblr media
Say that three times fast. I think the other two are on sale on Crapazon, too, but she's the only one I saw on Mart of Wal webbed site.
Mattel Barbie Mini BarbieLand Pop Reveal (blind box) dolls, 1.5 inches, apparently with slime, $3:
Tumblr media
I do love tiny things.
The Fresh Doll Marvel Wakanda Forever dolls are on sale again for $11. They have nice articulation. I need to post some pics. Okokye remains my favorite:
Tumblr media
MGA Entertainment costume dolls are finally starting to go on sale - Rainbow Vision COSTUME BALL (OK, MGAE, we hear you) Shadow High Lola Wilde is currently $25:
Tumblr media
A few of the others are under $30, too - but not the pink one (Bella) or Eliza McFee, which seems to be the one everyone wants.
Not on sale, but the new Barbie Mermaid with Odile closed-mouth face sculpt is available for $11. I'm having zero luck finding the Odile open-mouth sculpt, but I'm sure Mattel will make more:
Tumblr media
I have her. She really is that gorgeous in person. Angel Kent knocked the styling out of the park. The tail is just divine.

Monster High Skullector Nightmare Before Christmas Review Part 1 of 2
Tumblr media
I don’t know how I managed to snag one for my friend and me on that poorly done and hellish drop (it was also my first time I have ever tried ordering two Skullectors), but they came in and I finally had time to review my set.
The hand painted prototypes on the front of the box are so lovely (especially Sally’s delicate eyebrows and blush that are missing on her final doll).
Tumblr media
The back of the box sleeve: “J ❤️ S True Love Never Dies. Debuting in the fan-favorite film, Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pumpkin King Jack Skellington and dreamer Sally embark on a wild misadventure that capture the spirit of Halloween, Christmas and true love. This collector doll pack celebrates the moment that Jack and Sally realize they’re meant to be together forever. Dressed in a boospoke suit with a frightening skeleton print. Jack is ready for a haunting night with Sally, who is dressed in a creeptastic off-shoulder dress with a petrifying patchwork print.
The defrightful collector item captures the nightmarish fun that awaits every night in Halloween Town.”
……I always thought their romance was a bit slap dashed at the very end, but they are a hauntingly lovely couple.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their box with the sleeve off! It’s a very lovey set up. With the gate from the graveyard being shown, Zero (which I would have gladly traded for Sally’s purse), and a tombstone that has Frankie’s symbols, and the Monster High crest.
Tumblr media
The back of the box has another lovely photo of the dolls. I like the lighting on them in this photo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like how they made the artwork all scratchy and hatchy like Tim Burton’s art style. They also added some snowflakes, skulletes, Draculaura’s bat symbols, and a heart with Clawdeen’s G1 shirt pattern.
Okay, enough of the box! Let’s open this sucker up!
……anyone else feeling a draft……?
Tumblr media
Well apparently Jack has too much booty for his pants to be fully closed in the back when they were packaging him. Haha!
More under the cut:
Tumblr media
The inside panel, sans the plastic and Jack and Sally. I love that they included the Spiral Hill, two trees featuring Halloween Town and the Valentine’s Day Town doorways (although the hinges seem to be missing), and Sally’s basket to Jack (something else that I would have preferred over her thread purse).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A closer look at the trees in the corner. Clever choices in trees: one representing Halloween and the other the love between the characters.
Okay dokey, now onto Sally. I thought I was going to like her less than Jack in this set, but she is actually a GORGEOUS doll.
Tumblr media
How they did her eyes, her eyelashes, her face stitching, and even her cooler blue body stitching is just so lovely. I AM SO GLAD they did not give her “regular monster high eyes.” I love it when the designers experiment and give their ghouls, boos, and mansters new looks while still calling back to their roots (she might have the Tim Burton inspired eyes, but her proportions are all Monster High). Her hair is also a really soft (Saran….?). It’s not overly red or brown, but a nice mix of the two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her stitching has been simplified, which is a shame, but expected. Her right arm should have had her stitches moved down, but I really like the stitching they kept on her legs and chest and neck.
Tumblr media
I actually like her mermaid gown more than I thought I would (Monster High really needs to try some new silhouettes). There is actual thread stitching going down the center of her top and around the collar. The spider-web like lace is also very soft and flowey and not at all stiff. The green skullete on her skirt is also not super distracting. It also lays very nicely around her shoulders and bust.
While the gown looks nice on her, I have seen cooler looking fan created dress/outfit designs for Sally than what they have here….but it does have some details I was just expecting to be printed on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her shoes are nicely detailed (duh, it’s Monster High), with the stitches in them looking like they’re actually pulling the different segments together (like movie Sally’s stitches do). The heels are a reference to some of the potions/ingredients that Sally uses in the movie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The font looks spot on, while the outside of the jars have been simplified.
Tumblr media
The soles of her shoes have more of that scratching ink pen texture that Tim Burton seems so fond of.
Tumblr media
I first thought she had a dead opossum/rat on her head band (like in the movie), but it actually is made up of vines, and several of the flowers Sally picks in the movie that foretells the future of Jack’s Christmas to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her bag is definitely a slightly altered model of G2 Beast Pets Frankie’s purse (on another note, I find it a fun coincidence that G2 Frankie has blue-ish stitches like Sally does). In my opinion, it is the weakest of her pieces….why couldn’t we have gotten Zero with that extra plastic?!? Mattel loves putting pets where they don’t belong in Barbie and other Monster High releases, why not this one (the answer is probably the extra cost of Jack’s new head and body sculpt).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her earrings are black cats, and look fairly similar to the black cat that shows up in the movie.
Tumblr media
Her body color is a much stronger blue than I originally thought (I was thinking it would be closer to G1 Frankie, Scarah, or Lagoona’s). But it looks closer to G3 Frankie’s.
Tumblr media
The second and last part of my review will feature a close up of Sally’s head sculpt and a full review of Jack, as I ran out of space for pictures here.

My favorite Monster High dolls (gen 1)
(this is a long post and i have to clarify that, while i think there are more designs i love so much, i don't think they look that good on dolls like they do on illustrations, ex: OG Abbey Bominable)
Clawdeen Wolf
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favorite, she is just iconic, THE werewolf ghoul, i love violet and golden together and boy their dolls make it work, also her brown skin makes everything better (special mention to her 1600 doll she definitly slay with that outfit)
Draculaura
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She invented pink, never seen that color before the first Draculaura dolll hit the market, while she has a lot of dolls, i kinda prefer the ones that are more 'simple' but omg the Japan Exchange one? never seen something so pretty
Frankie Stein
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blue and silver neker look so great together until Frankie, i dont know how her style is called, but i love her academic chic vibe(? love her cold palette and her hair is my favorite thing ever
Cleo de Nile
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE QUEEN of Monster High, every putfit screems royalty and glam, turquoise and golden is just chef kiss, and personally i love when her hair is fully black
Lagoona Blue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh Lagoona i love you, her pink accents are so cute and her blonde hair with blue highlights, wish they focused more on her 'sporty laid back style' like her OG doll but he is so cute after all
CA Cupid and Viperine Gorgon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If someone says 'you can get 1 monster high, whatever you want' i would say CA cupid without doubt, everything about her is so delicate, precious and creppy and the same time, yeah she is cupid but also she has wings made with bones, how cool is that? and the black gradient? everything i ever dream in a doll
Viperine is so cool, i never pay atention to Deuce but the concept of a gorgon doll is so creative and so here is Viperine, while i always complain about the numerous dolls with pink accents or pallets, i think the pink looks so good on her and the texture of her skin and her glasses are my fav thing
Sirena Van Boo, Skelita Calaveras and Operetta
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sirena Van Boo, i fell in love with her design since i watched the movie, like i already said, i love black gradients and her hair? its perfect, i love her color pallet and her mermaid tal is one of the prettiest things i've seen in a mh doll
Skelita is a skeleton doll, a s k e l l e t o n d o l l, obviously i have to add her cause thats alone is madness, i chose this version of her cause i love the pink and turquoise together and her bad is so pretty
Operetta is one of my favs cause her concept is so cool to me, like she has a mask and yep she got me there ngl, her white, black and red style is everything plus her 60's vibes
Thats all! thanks for reading :)

MH G3 Frankie in Mermaid High Mari’s outfit. everything fits pretty good! the shoes are a bit small but work because of how flexible they are. Mari’s tentacle headband is a bit too big for MH heads but it could probably sit loosely on a doll with fluffier hair. I ordered a couple mermaid high dolls while they were on sale for $6 hoping I could steal the outfits for monster high and I’d say it was a success lol

Merliah dump lol
This is such a random-ass fixation but here we go lol While I was looking for older Mattel Ariel dolls for my collection on Facebook marketplace a few months back, I somehow managed to stumble across a used Mermaid Tale 2 Mini Merliah doll-one of my most random doll grails- for the very very low price of 5$ which began a renewed interest in Barbie in a Mermaid Tale dolls lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've always been a huge fan of the Mini Kingdom line but dissatisfied with the body they used (and the massive balloon hobbit-era head sculpt they switched to in 2008-ish), so I was pretty excited when the Mermaid Tale 2 mini dolls came out with not only a teeny tiny Belly Button body, but also a new miniaturized GG head sculpt! Sadly they were Wal-mart exclusive dolls and were sold in very limited quantities so I never had a chance to get them when they came out, and they have been nearly impossible to find secondhand since then so I have been searching for them for years to no avail lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(photos from google, pls let me know if they belong to you) this is also my obligatory plea for anyone to let me know if they have these for sale or find them anywhere because I still desperately want the Kylie doll and an NIB set of both lol After getting the mini doll, I thought it would be a good time to repurchase the deluxe Transforming Merliah doll I had when I was a teenager- one of my favorite dolls back in the OG doll Flickr days! I've always loved her face and the general aesthetic of the line (but not necessarily the construction..we'll get to that later) so she's always been a favorite of mine.
Tumblr media
(the time stamp is killing me lmao)
At first I decided to just get my hands on a singular used Merliah doll to reroot and a collection of all of her outfits from previous movies, but upon her arrival I was pretty shocked to open up the padded envelope and discover a completely squishy head with no glue!
Tumblr media
(I also rooted extra hair into her head for thickness but that's beside the point lol) Turns out the earliest batches of the original Merliah doll (Including international versions) are glue-free, while later ones have gluehead. This is probably a result of Mattel not fully integrating the glue-head method for every single doll until about the middle of Monster High's original run, which is why certain batches of Mattel dolls from between 2008-2012 still have squishy heads despite glue head already being a thing. At this point I decided to start hunting for more glue-free Merliah dolls (going by vibes and prayers alone to figure out which ones had no glue) one for each outfit. Next up was an NIB Merliah that came in the international package (luckily also with no glue, especially because I paid an egregious amount of money to get her NRFB):
Tumblr media
I also started working on a set of two Merliah mermaid dolls, using multiple parts combined together and a set of rerooted Merliah dolls with solid pink streaks (instead of the color change ones that she comes with). The original deluxe Merliah dolls are pretty infamous for having some of the worst looking tail construction, so if I wanted a set of good mermaid dolls I would have to get creative lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Mermaid Tale 1's tail turns into a beach coverup and MT2's tail turns into a literal surfboard...bye) They also made a set of 'budget' mermaid dolls with more traditional fabric tails, which serve as the primary base parts for my versions:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MUCH nicer tails, but their fins are really dinky and flimsy and they could both use some more details, and the dolls are ofc way too basic lol
Mermaid Tale 2 Merliah was the first to get going because I found the pieces I needed at a lower price than the ones I need for the original Merliah, but she's also still unfinished while I wait for her rerooted head to come lol First I made a mockup, using the budget tail with the deluxe doll fin just to make sure the parts would fit together :
Tumblr media
Then my finished tail, with some added detail around the fin to look a bit more deluxe lol:
Tumblr media
Gorg! And very headless (for now) I also switched out her legs with the standard hollow plastic beach feet legs that the budget Merliah dolls have, because I hate the legs she came with lol Original Merliah is definitely my favorite though, and the one who cost the most for me to put together (and also got the most love lol) and also got finished the soonest. My mockup for her:
Tumblr media
Originally I planned to add a Fountain Mermaid Barbie fin to her tail in order to make it larger, but eventually decided on Secret Door Romy's fins for the bottom layer instead, because they look more cohesive to the rest of her tail/fin and look more 'official' instead of looking like...well a 1993 tail slapped on a 2009 doll lol Ofc she needed a reroot to start with (commissioned from 292millimeters on Instagram!):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then I (very reluctantly, because it was like 80$ lol) purchased the budget mermaid Merliah doll, a used Secret Door Romy outfit for the fabric fins and a bag of fuschia hotfix gemstones and put her together!
Tumblr media
I also switched the tiaras between the Original and MT2 doll because the pink tiara matches her better, and I think it makes more sense for the original mermaid form to be more muted and for the "upgraded" sequel form to be more colorful. The extra fin on the bottom really gives the tail that little bit of extra length it needed to look like an actual, legitimate Deluxe Merliah doll tail imo, as does the longer hair and the gem on her top! And if you don't think this is a vast improvement from the original Deluxe doll's outfit....well
Tumblr media
It was lowkey a little painful to put my stock Merliah back into her mermaid form for this comparison but it had to be done, it's just so ugly!!! This was a really random project resulting from a very spur of the moment purchase of a 5$ doll, but I really love these dolls and this line, and it felt good to fulfill the wishes of 15-year old me-and all of the other collectors on Flickr bitd who were absolutely livid about Merliah's original tail being so incredibly bad lol I've been having a lot of fun with these "what if" projects I've been doing recently, it's only further proven to me that I am a much happier collector when I actually take my own time working on whatever interests me in that moment and put everything I have into fully realizing my vision to the smallest detail (even if it's for something as niche as this, and even if it costs more money than it should) instead of putting so much emphasis on dealing with the hell that is trying to keep up with and purchase every new doll, even at the expensive of my financial and mental health and even if it personally does absolutely nothing to enrich my collection or my creativity to be constantly worried about missing out on whatever new RH doll is out lol

I know probably everybody knows about this but I wanna talk about it.
Above Supernova is seen talking to unknown people speaking about how “OMG Monster High really exists! Maybe the other schools exist too” then it’s revealed that they are no other than our beloved Raven Queen and Apple White
Okay so Supernova is friends with Raven Queen and Apple White??? Cool but also how?? This probably means she’s either from EAH originally or ended up in EAH through a different universe that wasn’t MH
But also like why was she in space for who knows how long then the first thing she does after nearly destroying an entire city on accident she calls Raven and Apple to tell them a theory of theirs has been confirmed??? Does this mean the reason she was in space was because she was looking for Monster High. Because if not I think it’s pretty weird she just accidentally stumbled into a new universe after possibly a millennia, accidentally discovers Monster High, aka something she’s probably studied previous to this to know what it is, then is like “I’m gonna call my besties because I just accidentally found something we’ve been theorizing that could potentially change the course of our reality🥰”
Like BRUH WHAT but also Apple and Raven were so chill about it probably bc they technically already of access to different dimensions (wonderland) so ig this isn’t new to them but the fact that they have access to different dimensions, evidently monster high too but they just haven’t found the opening yet is kinda cool. To me it feels like they may be, parallel wise, the next coming of the Grimm brothers. Two friends, turned enemies, turned friends again who explore beyond their world?? Sounds like a parallel to me
But I was also watching Haunted and it brings up an intriguing idea. The school for ghosts is something that exists within the very walls of monster high yet very few know about it?? Sounds familiar. But also vice versa. The school for ghosts didn’t know anything of Monster High until mentioned. But when this was mentioned to the headmistress, aka the ghost that literally has a famous ghost story of her and that has been around longer than undead teenagers, wasn’t phased by the idea of a different dimension but at the fact there were ghosts residing there
On top of that a common trope we see is outfit changes when inter dimensional travel is involved. Of course this is definitely just an excuse to make the dolls with pretty dresses but I still think it’s an interesting thing to think about. It happened when Spectra ventured to the ghost world, when Cupid went to EAH, and when the EAH cast went to Wonderland. I had a theory that maybe it’s because it differentiates between your home world and the one you came from. Spectra is from the ghost world hence the glow up, same for Cupid (I don’t think it’s technically confirmed if EAH or MH is her OG world but it makes more sense for it to be EAH considering her concept and the fact she had her storybook present when they tried to get the scroll). This wasn’t too prominent in EAH Wonderland because they all definitely had a glow up but IMO the ones from Wonderland had it the most (Kitty, Lizzie, and Maddie). The rest of the girls have a mermaid type dress with sone anti gravity vibe type decor and their typical color scheme while the 3 mentioned above have actual Wonderland themed outfits based on their background within Wonderland (Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter)
Don’t know how I got started on outfit changes, still think it’s cool to see how the universe will naturally differentiate you between your home world and new world via a really cool outfit. But back to Haunted. It kinda looks like the school is someone adjacent to Monster High, but like I said, alternate dimension. Same for Wonderland and EAH, possibly MH and EAH as well. All of these schools being intertwined by portals that basically lead you immediately to the desired location makes me feel like EAH and MH were built for that reason??
What would you do if you saw an inter dimensional portal in the middle of the woods? Mark it. Some put a flag, some build entire intricate gothic structures to hide it away maybe🤷
All this to say I think MH and EAH were built specifically where they were in order to mark a very special place. An opening to a new world. That’s how the Grimm brothers found Monster High, and how Cupid found EAH (or MH, still no confirmed home world).
One thing that’s still stuck in my mind though is Supernova. If her mission truly was to discover Monster High, why was she in space? Well do I (think) I have an answer for you.
Space is a wacky place, but so is our world. I think that with every portal jump it is landing you either in another variation of the world they came, or maybe another planet. Either way this speaks nothing to space. What if space is a neutral zone? The place that all planets/dimensions can be accessed just slower because of the travel?
Anyways none if this made any sense or maybe it did. Hope you enjoyed my rambling don’t forget to eat your worms
AN: I completely forgot that this could 100% be a catalyst for an EAH/MH x TWST crossover

monster high realized that people love it when you put a little plastic ribcage over a skullector doll and immediately pivoted to putting them on everything. not that im mad about it i think its cute its just that i know the dolls i own i hate taking the plastic parts on and off. like i have two serena von boo bodies and it was almost impossible to remove her from the chain skirt thing shes got on her tail. actually maybe the mermaid dolls just had serious outfit problems

So I posted some pictures a while, back of my holiday ariel dolls, which are a small part of my doll collection but I also kind of wanted to share some of the other dolls from my collection that I really love so I thought I’d start with the other dolls currently displayed on shelf
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is my Luisa Madrigal doll i pretty much fell in love with Luisa from the first time I saw her on screen. My sister had taken me to see it for my birthday and for the first time in my life, I saw a character on the screen and thought that me. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but I really resonate with her much like Luisa. I am a middle child who ended up with a lot of responsibilities and sometimes the weight of that just felt so heavy and on top of that I had a high pain tolerance and a tendency to be very rough and tumble as a kid so I got myself a bit of a reputation for being the tough one but being able to see somebody like Luisa meant a lot to me because usually these are the kind of roles that we give to oldest sisters and has somebody who isn’t the oldest but 100% understand this feeling it felt nice to see it represented
However, I do have to admit this is not Disney’s best work has anybody out there who owns this Luisa doll knows posing her is a pain 😩especially when it comes to the hip joints, which feel really hecking flimsy like I’m terrified that one of these days I’m gonna move her leg and it’s just gonna snap off and as you can probably tell her outfit is one dress rather than a top and skirt personally I find that a little frustrating considering this is supposed to be the deluxe set from the Disney store
But regardless I really love her 🥰 and she is one of my favorites, which is why she’s on display
Tumblr media
Bonus GIF of Luisa just because
also the flower in her hair came from a deluxe little mermaid set and I did my best to try and curl the little flyaways in the front of her hair

Helen's Uni Diary: Year Two
September - Back to Basics
Spill the beans, diary! Nikki and I plotted a full-fledged age regression for Jasmine. Imagined her as a teen, then slowly… even younger. September was teen vibes. Shopping spree for cute school-like outfits - think tartan skirts, knee-high socks, and adorable blouses.
October - Autumn Antics
October's treat? The age play went deeper. Got Jasmine hooked to cartoons and sleepovers. Nikki even did these hilariously juvenile braids! Picture this: Jasmine, in pigtails, clutching a teddy, having a Saturday cartoon binge.
November - Frosty Frolics
Snowy days are for young fun, right? Slid down the age slope further with Jasmine building her first snowman. In a kiddish red coat, mittens, and a beanie, she looked straight out of a children’s winter book.
December - Christmas Craziness
December had to be special. Painted Jasmine as a giddy child awaiting Santa. Her in fuzzy pajamas, leaving milk and cookies, and sleeping under the Christmas tree? Priceless!
January - Playtime Ploys
New year, new plot! Nikki and I pushed Jasmine into more childlike fun. Jump ropes, hopscotch, and dolls. Watching her jump in a poofy jumper with ankle socks and Velcro shoes? A trip down memory lane!
February - Valentine’s Ventures
Went all cupid-crazy for Jasmine! Arranged a kiddie Valentine's party. Picture a room full of hearts, giggles, and kiddish games. Jasmine, in a pink ruffled dress, was the centre of all mushy mischief.
March - Dressy Delights
Alright, diary, March was BIG! Sent Jasmine off to primary school. The hard bit? Convincing the school she was ‘special’. A bit of sneaky hypnosis, and voila! Took her shopping for her uniform - a pastel blue gingham dress, white ankle socks, and black Mary Janes. Getting her in the school spirit? Hypnosis played its part, making her believe she was the school's newbie.
April - Easter Escapades
Easter was classic kiddo fun. The garden was all eggs and giggles. Jasmine, in a bunny-themed dress, hunting with more enthusiasm than any kid on the block? Snap-worthy moments all the way!
May - Sun, Sand, and Surprises
Sun’s out? Beach day! Jasmine, playing with her pink mermaid bucket and spade, wearing a childish one-piece with ruffled edges? Oh, and let’s not forget that messy ice-cream face. She was the beach's darling cherub.
June - Festival Frolics
June’s jive? Making Jasmine the youngest at the summer fest. Dressed in a daisy frock with a matching sun hat, she danced around, spreading childlike cheer everywhere.
July - Movie Mayhem
July's jam? Kids’ movie marathons! Got Jasmine in a kiddie cinema, watching animated classics. Popcorn fights, laughter, and her in a polka-dotted dress? Cinema's tiniest diva.
August - Sweet Endings
August's endnote? Reflecting on the whirlwind year, turning Jasmine from teen to toddler. But hey, diary, the journey isn’t over. Nikki and I have wilder plans, trust. Stick around!
