a bit anxious about posting this, but i wanted to show off my meeshell mermaid custom that i just finished!

i loved her design in the show, and was really dissapointed when the actual doll looked nothing like her, so i made my own !!

i also think mattel had a missed opportunity in giving meeshell a wheelchair instead of just having her magically able to walk on land even though she hadn't gone through her story yet!

more info about what i used/more rambling under the cut!

-i was not a big fan of the later ever after high face molds, so i used a legacy day ashlynn ella as a base! she had really similar eye makeup to meeshell, so it worked out great :)

-her face repaint just includes the stars around her eyes with glitter, purple eyebrows and a slightly bigger lip in that same color.

-i made her earrings and hair piece with floral wire and beads i got at michaels and a shell i had lying around.

-her hair is rerooted with a mix of 10mm curly blossom, ballet pink, and pink & silver tinsel from The Doll Planet Hair on etsy! i brushed it out a bit and cut it to length.

-her outfit is from the original meeshell doll with the top repainted with acrylic mixed with fabric medium. and for the little details painted on the plastic parts of her outfit, i used acrylic and some glitter paint.

-i made the mermaid fin using this no sew tutorial by TheDollBoy on youtube.

-her wheelchair is a barbie wheelchair with a shell pattern felt sheet and starfish that i got from michaels glued to the inside of the wheels.

-her hands are actually an extra pair of g1 lagoona blue hands that i had lying around, painted to match her skin tone! i also used a glitter topcoat over her face and body.

-the stand in the bottom middle picture is from the deluxe little mermaid halle bailey doll !

I unboxed 17 dolls today! 😥 they've accumulated over 2 years and my new adhd meds finally work

Man, comparing the 90s barbies with the Jane Goodall one makes me want to cry 😭 the quality drop is so severe! The older dolls have different textures and thicknesses of fabric, and all these wonderful details like the pearls and metal pieces. There's still a quality drop for the Ida Wells dolls, but at least her dress is a decent fabric and has some trim, and 11 points of articulation as compared to 5

what the FUCK? i finished a doll custom?? Holy shit it’s been so long.

I designed & started this in June 2020 and have been plinking away ever since. part of that was on me for deliberately doing things the hard way, like hand-sewing that little sunhat just to see if I could.  turns out you CAN, it’s just tedious!

Anyway, she’s finally done!  I may go back in later and make her some custom sunglasses with resin but actually no that is the devil talking. she’s done the end final concept

I present… Dolltavia. Of course I will be calling her Octavia, but I didn’t want to miss out on using that pun. I tried giving her emo/scene kid type hair as to emulate her feathered hair. I might need to do a few more touch ups on it. I also need to fix up her show outfit. - Faybelle got only one doll when she had other really cute looks I feel deserve other dolls.

Honestly, you know how Monster High is having those Haunt Couture looks and reproduction dolls? And other ones in the original packaging and style? I wish Mattel would do that just with these characters finally having dolls. I don't even want a continuation of the series or anything just give these characters some justice and give them dolls

Apple White's dress from the canceled crossover movie???

Recently, @dollsforthearchive (who had already shared prototypes of the Book To School line) had posted on Instagram pictures of a prototype dress that could be the Apple White's one from the crossover movie between Monster High and Ever After High (called “Feary Tale” or most known as “The Lost Movie”)...

PS: As I write this post, @dollsforthearchives just posted some pics of a jacket in Story, wondering if it’s supposed to be part of Apple White’s crossover outfit...

What do you think of these prototypes? I loooove the dress, it gives me new inspiration to draw some outfits for the characters from “The Lost Movie”. (I’m still working on the designs of Apple White, Draculaura and Madeline Hatter!)

More of Slutty Beachwear Plague Doctor: close-ups

Her mask is apoxie sculpt with a magnet embedded in the back corresponding to the one in her forehead. Instead of trying to hide it I thought it’d be rad to include it in her faceup design and it turned out pretty cool I think. Her gloves, ehh, not so much, but that’s mostly due to the glaze I used turning out to be garbage. The problem with this fucking doll is she took me 3 years from start to finish, long enough for parts of the custom to get old while the rest was unfinished.

She’s my first foray into head shrinking, and I also dremeled ashlynn’s terrible winter tights smooth. They’re still red, but at least it doesn’t read christmas.

Sandals and jewelry from brass shim, sunglasses stolen from a barbie extras mini. Hat, hand sewn from string.
