My favorite Monster High dolls (gen 1)

(this is a long post and i have to clarify that, while i think there are more designs i love so much, i don't think they look that good on dolls like they do on illustrations, ex: OG Abbey Bominable)

Clawdeen Wolf

My favorite, she is just iconic, THE werewolf ghoul, i love violet and golden together and boy their dolls make it work, also her brown skin makes everything better (special mention to her 1600 doll she definitly slay with that outfit)

Draculaura

She invented pink, never seen that color before the first Draculaura dolll hit the market, while she has a lot of dolls, i kinda prefer the ones that are more 'simple' but omg the Japan Exchange one? never seen something so pretty

Frankie Stein

Blue and silver neker look so great together until Frankie, i dont know how her style is called, but i love her academic chic vibe(? love her cold palette and her hair is my favorite thing ever

Cleo de Nile

THE QUEEN of Monster High, every putfit screems royalty and glam, turquoise and golden is just chef kiss, and personally i love when her hair is fully black

Lagoona Blue

Oh Lagoona i love you, her pink accents are so cute and her blonde hair with blue highlights, wish they focused more on her 'sporty laid back style' like her OG doll but he is so cute after all

CA Cupid and Viperine Gorgon

If someone says 'you can get 1 monster high, whatever you want' i would say CA cupid without doubt, everything about her is so delicate, precious and creppy and the same time, yeah she is cupid but also she has wings made with bones, how cool is that? and the black gradient? everything i ever dream in a doll

Viperine is so cool, i never pay atention to Deuce but the concept of a gorgon doll is so creative and so here is Viperine, while i always complain about the numerous dolls with pink accents or pallets, i think the pink looks so good on her and the texture of her skin and her glasses are my fav thing

Sirena Van Boo, Skelita Calaveras and Operetta

Sirena Van Boo, i fell in love with her design since i watched the movie, like i already said, i love black gradients and her hair? its perfect, i love her color pallet and her mermaid tal is one of the prettiest things i've seen in a mh doll

Skelita is a skeleton doll, a s k e l l e t o n d o l l, obviously i have to add her cause thats alone is madness, i chose this version of her cause i love the pink and turquoise together and her bad is so pretty

Operetta is one of my favs cause her concept is so cool to me, like she has a mask and yep she got me there ngl, her white, black and red style is everything plus her 60's vibes

Well I hope in G3 they don't clutter with new characters each TV special. I know you have underrated character that's your absolute favorite and wishes that character get more screen time but with MH cast is so big. You almost forgot who is who? You will see ..

in Scaris: They just stick with Jinafire, Catrine and Skelita. Sorry Garrott but the movie is about Clawdeen entering a contest to become Moanatella's "apprentice"... Besides Garrott isn't MH student and lives in Scaris. I bet you almost forgot that he and Rochelle still together...

In Frights Camera Action!: Can they just stick Clawdia, Elissabat and Honey Swamp. Sorry Viperine, maybe in Deuce's family reunion in Greece would be more appropriate to introduce her ( I can't believe that never once Deuce and Viperina got interacted together)

In Freaky Fusion: Stick with Neighthan and Sirena and replace Avea and Bonita with Deuce and Jackson/ Holt (MH writers just forgot that Deuce is half human/gorgon and Jackson is half human/monster/elemental)

In Haunted: Just stick with River, Porter and Kiyomi. Sorry Vandala but she seems out place in school setting. Perhaps in Shriekwrecked series would be perfect for Vandala

In Boo York: Just stick with Astranova, Luna and Mouscedes and replace Elle with Seth Ptomely.

Ghoulia Yelps, a zombie with very few words, is the smartest ghoul in Monster High. Calculated, creative, and always willing to help out, she is a ghoul any monster can rely on. Ghoulia, on top of being an undead genius, is also a big nerd-, I mean, comic book lover. She's a fan of the fictional hero DeadFast and is inspired by him

Freaky flaw: like many other zombies, she moves at a much slower pace and often speaks in groans and moans, which makes it hard for some monsters to understand her

How is your version of the Monster High movies different from the canon? Like, what’s your version of Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love, Escape From Skull Shores, Boo York, Scaris: City of Frights, Fright On, Ghouls Rule, Friday Night Frights, and 13 Wishes? I would LOVE to hear how you would rewrite them for your Reimagined series!! I also love how you have background characters like Invisi-Billy and Johnny become the main cast instead of just all girls. I also want to know what town Monster High is set in because they never said WHERE the movies take place.

Okay, this is gonna be a long one. Let's start with the name of the town near Monster High. Old Salem. Cuz the human town in Ghouls Rule is named New Salem. That's all I could come up with.

New kids at School.

A new School year at Monster High. We get to see the first month of school for new kids, Frankie, Gil and Abbey. We also get to see Invisi-Billy dealing with his new roommate Johnny Spirit.

And if that's not enough, the so called "human-monster relationship expert" is actually planning on hunting them all down.

And what secrets does the office of former student, C.A. Cupid hold?

Hoodude leads Manny, Iris, Wydowna and Billy on "exciting" Island trips. Lagoona helps Gil with his fear of the ocean. And Frankie, Toralei, Cleo and Deuce go on a mystery boat trip and make a huge discovery.

Frankie gets upset over the incorrect presentation about Halloween. This is nothing like what she read about. She gets some surprising support from Johnny Spirit. He knows what Halloween is and this is wrong. But trying to show how humans really act during Halloween ends with Jackson and Holt getting arrested by humans! It's time for the Monsters to save them.

Meanwhile, Rochelle goes searching for her missing boyfriend Garrot with the help of Spectra and Operetta and the local street artist Catrine DeMew.

Howleen is going through a lot and the bullying from Gory Fangtell just sets her off. She ends up with a magical lamp containing a genie, Gigi Grant. Howleen, still in a fragile state of mind easily becomes manipulated by the shadow genie Whisp. Howleen's wishes end up making Gil a daredevil with no regard for his safety! And she erases Cleo from everyone's memory, almost everyone. Seems artificial minds are immune to genie magic. Clawdeen just wants to help her sister but things don't go well. Can Howleen be saved before it's too late?

They try to return but once they get back to the present, they experience some interesting side effects. They fused! Can the hybrids help Cleolei, Lagoonafire, Clawvenus and Ghoulankie to cooperate?

And poor Johnny literally gets dragged into the adventure leaving a distressed Invisi-Billy no other choice but to get Headmistress Bloodgood involved.

While they come up with a way to break the marriage, Catty's voice gets stolen by the werecat twins, employed by Nefera De Nile. During the chaos Johnny decides now is apparently the right time to confess his feelings for Billy. Also, there's a meteor. And it's a musical. Yay!

Scarily Ever After

During the great school clean up. Draculaura finds a magical book in the attic. Suddenly, she, Clawdeen, Cleo, Deuce and Johnny get pulled into a fairytale maze where they run into the students of Ever After High, Raven Queen, Apple White, Maddie Hatter, Briar Beauty and Sparrow Hood, trying to stop The Evil Queen, Raven's mother, from enslaving Monster High. As if that's not enough, a magical stream swaps the Monsters with the Fairytale students. And who's this mysterious Euna?

Ya wanna know one thing I do not have time for this weekend

Which may end up being the one thing I need to do: Going to the emergency room.

So rabbits, allergic reaction, kitten emergency, called in sick, came back to work, felt really good, worked on the van shell, felt bad, went to work, still don't feel good, but I'm going to work on the van as much as I can this weekend--lumber for the frame and my loft are my first priority. But I did buy the Sirena von Boo doll that I've been crazy for since I learned about it. I find my Posea Reef doll very interesting and wouldn't mind getting the whole Reef gang. I was also super-psyched about getting Avea Trotter and some of the Freaky Fusions.

I'm also honestly fairly excited about sculpting my own doll heads. It's been a while and I need practice. I should purchase some clay and either firm up my nice oil clay or make my own oil clay. I could probably grab some used wax from a foundry or use bees wax. I used to have a crapton of bees wax, but I might've jettisoned it when I couldn't figure out what to do with it. I think I would use bees wax if I was going to alter the nice oil clay I have. I have some shitty oil clay too though. It reeks, it's ancient, and it's far too soft to serve any practical function. That's the oil clay I would add some more clay and foundry wax to.

Here's a fun trick/lifehack: One part oil of choice, one part mineral clay, one part wax. Add more wax if you want it to be more firm; more oil if you want it softer. It can be a less expensive option than buying your oil clay, and it's good to know if you, like me, are too cheap to buy Monster Clay or Chavant, but want more firm oil clay.

Spectra Vondergeist, the face behind The Ghostly Gossip blog, is a very curious ghost. With a love of mystery and writing, she came to Monster High to share her passion with the school. Spectra is considered a "social butterfly", always keeping up with the latest trends and is all about being (and letting monsters) in on the known. However, she is against harmful and toxic gossip, realizing it could very much hurt the friends she has. Spectra is also a rather creative spirit and also enjoys sharing what she has to offer to other monsters.
