the only time i can vaguely get into love triangles is the idea of a doctor/companion romance thing (requited? pining? they’re just Weird about each other?) happening, and then when those two are at their most intense, that’s when the master shows up and it becomes very clear that. whatever is going on between the doctor & their companion. is not even a third of what is between the master & the doctor.

and then cue the angst because how. how. are you supposed to compete with someone they’ve known forever, who they’ve defined themself by for centuries, who knows every little detail about them and then some.

#polyamory wins everyday in my mind except in this specific scenario of a companion realizing that what’s going on over there is 20x wilder #than whatever they have with the doctor and they literally cannot match it. they can try. but they can’t. #its thinking you and the doctor shared a universe all your own only to realize you were a planet orbiting a binary star system. #and you didn’t even know it. #there’s just something so tasty about it. Vlad never really cared about clowns. He didn't find them funny, thought they tried so hard they seemed more scary to children than anything else.

And he would deny any self reflection at the thought of trying too hard and getting the exact opposite of what you want.

Aaanyway.. Masters mostly ignored the existence of clowns, until the day his kid, HIS kid, told him about how he died.

Let's just say it was a beautiful bonding time between him and Jason.. And one very unlucky clown.

The inmates within Arkam had been talking for a while about the fact that Joker had lost the last shred of sanity, shrieking about ghosts and Vampires, about whispers in the night and the dead having come back to haunt him.

No one had believed him until the Clown vanished one night.

Some thought he had escaped, but as he hadn't done anything even a long while after, they came to the conclusion that whatever had haunted him, seemed to have actually gotten the Clown in the end.

Vlad never cared about Clowns, and the new mounted clown head Jason wanted to hang up in the living room was definitly not to his normal tastes.

... But it did remind him of good bonding moments, so Jason could keep it if he wanted, but by the Ancients it was not going up in the livingroom.

Tormented will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on April 23 via Film Masters. The 1960 horror-thriller is perhaps best remembered for its appearance on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
