how many people would read a chute from Wilson’s pov where he shows up to work with a new tie and House drives himself bonkers trying to find out who got it for him, and he has to keep visiting Wilson claiming that his patient has got cancer (patient is simultaneously deteriorating fast and team #2 is violently disconcerted by house’s lack of interest in any diagnosis’ not involving some form of ontological wonder) when it was actually just a set-up to see how far House’s irritability-masked-jealousy would go, meaning Wilson got the tie just to mess with his head and prove an already widely-accepted confirmation of House’s burning desire for James Wilson. They might be kissing and cuddling by the end idk.

Okay but if we really do lean into autistic, bi-and-out House

You grow up with rules that are arbitrary. Only you seem to see how arbitrary they are. You start learning to make your own rules.

You go off to college. LGBT acceptance is on the rise. You date around, multiple genders.

And then the AIDS crisis starts to hit. Two years into med school, you get kicked out. Was it because you were proving favoritism? Was it discrimination? You do everything you can to get back in but are denied. A permanent black mark on your record. Your community continues to die alone. You used to think that if you could just explain well enough, you could make them see. Not necessarily agree, but see where you’re coming from. For the first time since you left home, you are severely depressed.

You don’t call your girlfriend.

You cement your reputation as a brilliant, if prickly, diagnostician. You can’t tell if people are talking about your sexuality or if they just don’t like your anti-authority approach. They’re kind of one and the same, if you’re being honest. And you always try to be honest.

what i think happens after the end of house is that wilson inexplicably recovers and lives for years, possibly decades, but rather than continuing to ride off into infinite sunsets all this does is force them to confront how much they were ONLY ABLE TO BE TOGETHER because they thought it had a definite and tragic time limit. and now that it doesn't wilson has to deal with the fact that he's a lifelong serial cheater and there's nothing stopping him from flirting with waiters and waitresses at every single dive bar they visit from pennsylvania to oregon and house has to deal with the fact that he only thinks he can change when he's in the middle of a crisis of ego death but now that life with wilson is routine he's turning into an asshole again because it's his default and he's lazy .

or the mere improbability of wilson's being alive means that house expects him to drop dead every day and this turns him into the most devoted husband anybody ever had and wilson is so endeared that he quits falling in love with every single person he's ever met and spends the rest of his improbably long life being nauseatingly smug about his ability to Fix That Man without actually doing anything at all
