Pre-reveal, post-relationship lovesquare is so insane if you think about it. You have Adrinette who are in a happy committed relationship but are both internally panicking about the fact that they keep a secret identity hidden from their beloved boy/girlfriend. You have Ladrien, where Ladybug is pining away secretly for the boy she’s already dating and Adrien can’t understand why his heart feels weird whenever he’s around his good friend and partner (that he definitely doesn’t have unresolved feelings for). You have Marichat where Chat Noir is struggling not to show his heart eyes to his girlfriend, while Marinette is doing her utmost to make sure she doesn't tell him she still thinks about their kiss (for absolutely no reason at all). And then you have Ladynoir who keeps having arguments over who has the better boy/girlfriend and who loves them more and at the same time are certainly not feeling jealous because they are very happy for their partner to be in a committed relationship with someone who isn’t them, yep completely and totally happy...

Summary for a fic I'd write if I were a writer:

Marinette and Chat Noir have a nebulous "let's just be emotionally vulnerable with each other, kiss sometimes, and not put a label on it because we're both in love with other people" thing going on but for Adrien the lines begin to blur. He starts offering to carry Marinette's bag, is always trying to give her a ride home, and other boyfriend-ly things, TO MARINETTE'S EXTREME CONFUSION.

One night she finally loses it and tells Chat that Buttercup is driving her crazy; he's there every time she turns around, and she keeps making a fool of herself! Of course she believes he's just trying to be a Good Friend and she's reading into it too much because of her feelings for him, but Chat is suspicious (and not a little jealous), leading to a situation where Adrien becomes single-mindedly determined to catch Buttercup in the act.

here’s a ranty explanation of the au LOL :

REVERSE AU ( so mari likes chat and chat likes mari but mari doesn’t like adrien and adrien doesn’t like lb (toxinelle in this au))

the au is that her and alya r besties OBVS but alya is also alr but more on the gothic/punk side and she’s a photographer and uses mari as a model and mari is only ok with alya taking pics of her

and she’s super nervous in big crowds but she’s kind of mean to people because she’s too awkward in this world and is used to getting made fun of because of her being more alt so she completely shuts down when she gets compliments or attention

and she’s a scene queen heehee and adrien LOVES her myspace like she’s his fav scenequeen and he tries hard to also be a scene king but his dad says “ew no be normal” so mari doesn’t know that and calls him a poser cause he’s a gorgeous model (all his jewelry is fake)

anyways adrien is always surrounded by paparazzi so when the news come to interview them mari (toxinelle) hides behind him OR runs away as fast as possible so HES seen as the main hero since she’s too shy to be the face (but she still is a bad bitch boss who solves problems)
