Your headcanons for (very specific I know) Daddy Lawyer!Kylo Ren? Mean? Maybe stern and firm but still manageable and willing to give rewards left and right? Just imagine: this guys works too hard, always on a case and they are all important and media covered so there is always pressure on his shoulders, how is he like when it’s just him and his princess?

MY GOD. Daddy and a lawyer??? The sternness is off the charts and I am absolutely shaking at the thought.

I would say that for the most part, he treats you pretty consistently across the board. He's firm, most definitely stern if/when you act up but he dotes on you so much; the doting undoubtedly comes from a place of love, but I do think there's a small level of guilt he harbors with having to be so busy with his cases so that lends into the frequency in which he's buying you things and doling out rewards.

He doesn't particularly like to say this a lot mostly because he's not one to verbalize his feelings too often but his favorite moments are when he comes home from long nights and you offer to draw him a bath, to sit with him in the quiet and let him unwind in your presence.

There are other times though when he does like to be mean not that you mind either. These are the days that are particularly rough on him: days when he gets into nasty arguments with the defense attorneys or when he snaps at the judge in frustration. It's these days that he needs to take out his frustration on you, to be rough and you're so good at letting him handle you any way he sees fit. How can he not reward you when all's said and done?

Every day, Kylo has to leave at lunchtime. Mitaka, his personal assistant, cannot find out, althoug has tried in every way, what do these outputs mean, and what intrigues the young assistant most is seeing his grumpy boss come back from lunch with a bouquet of cherry blossoms. Mitaka has lost count of how many has taken home, or given to some of the staff. Why the hell does taciturn Kylo Ren need to bring flowers every day? Then he has one more idea and says to himself, that it will be the last try, and promises to leave this obsession. "Sir, may I ask you a question?" Mitaka ventures visibly tense, under the scrutiny of Kylo who hesitates a bit before answering. "Be quick, I can't be late." Kylo waits, growing impatient, as Mitaka swallows. "Yes sir, please, I would like to know where you buy these flowers, so that I can buy some." Mitaka is shaking inside because he was never so bold but, his efforts are rewarded when sees his boss, the mighty Kylo Ren, look away, blushing like a teenager. So he knows got him. "Huh... Yes... Of course... I... I'll tell you where it is." Kylo doesn't even look at Mitaka as reaches into his wallet, pulling out a card and handing it to his assistant. "Thank you sir." Mitaka holds back from laughing, when sees that big and feared man, fleeing his scrutiny, as the game flees from the hunter. The next day, he changes his lunch schedule and goes to that flower shop. The array of flowers is beautiful and he almost forgets why he's here when sees Kylo walk in. Mitaka hides and is perplexed to see his boss smile... Yes... Kylo is smiling. But then he sees why, when the gorgeous redhead emerges from inside the shop, bearing the well-known bouquet. The man is of a distinct beauty, and though both try to hide it, Mitaka catches it quickly, that unmistakable exchange of glances. There's also that subtle touch when the redhead hands Kylo the flowers, and both blush, smiling when the purchase is complete. Now all makes sense... However, the young assistant, can no longer bear to see so many bouquets being wasted and, suspects that his idiot boss, he has yet to make any attempt to invite the florist to dinner. That is inadmissible. Mitaka feels he has to do something and... It was with this thought that the next day, when Kylo leaves the flower shop, Mitaka runs to the place and luckily, he still manages to reach the redhead. "Could you please bring me a bouquet similar to the one my boss just brought?" Mitaka takes a chance and sees the redhead's subtle interest. "Yes of course. They're my favorite." The redhead comments while arranging the bouquet. 'Of course that would be' Mitaka almost rolls his eyes when the man in front of him starts talking again, failing to hide his interest. "So, Kylo is your boss... Do you... Do you know who the flowers he brings every day are? He... Is there anyone?" The redhead finally looks at Mitaka who suppresses a sigh. "No... He doesn't have anyone." Mitaka notices how subtly pleased the man is. "In fact, he is very shy and, I think he is interested in someone, but doesn't have the courage to talk..." Mitaka hints, watching the redhead work. "Serious? So that person needs to do something about it." The redhead squints and Mitaka knows he's got him too. "For sure. By the way, my name is Mitaka." He extends a hand with a First Order card, which has Kylo's number highlighted. "In case you need a good lawyer." The redhead takes the card and blushes. "Thank you Mitaka it's nice to meet you, my name is Hux." Finally with his goal achieved, the young assistant awaits the scenes of the next chapters, hoping his boss doesn't throttle him for giving out his personal number... 'Accidentally'. A few weeks later, Mitaka is called into Kylo's office, to organize new data from a process and, he is not prepared, when he enters and finds his boss, having afternoon coffee, together with a certain red-haired florist... But on the table, this time, there is a sunflower vase.

"Mr. Ren?… "

"Indeed. This is Kylo Ren. He hired me after he was wrongly accused of killing Han Solo who he doesn't event knew." Judge was looking at Hux with surprise and then at her documents.

"Mr… Ren? Do you know this man.?" Kylo looked at Hux with reserve.

"I… Yes. I did hire him."

"Well… This woman claim that you killed her husband and that you are her son." Kylo glanced at Leia. There wasn't hate on her face but there was fear.

And the long inciting crawl before the drop:

He was picked up by First Order Records, a mega-famous, albeit notoriously abominable, bloodsucking label, at Snoke’s behest. Snoke has a lot of power in the industry, a big string-puller, surrounded by goons and lawyers and goons who are lawyers. Legend has it, they didn’t want the rest of the band, at least not initially. Just Ben.

Ben accepted and signed a contract with profoundly shitty terms and not only urged but successfully convinced all his mates to do the same, you know, so that the band could stay together. To be fair, he didn’t know any better at the time. Later on, however, when certain strictures became clear, ‘Kylo’ shrugged off the band’s concerns. Things got ugly even before they got ugly

(Apparently, he never apologized to any one of them. And there were nine members at one point.)

Various incidents where this poor boy (nobody loves him) was a victim of sexual assault by gnarly, old Hollywood men. All horned-up aggressive men, at parties, you know, locker room behavior on designer drugs. Men who’d grab at him and tell him it was a good thing he was so big. Some women, too.

(Ben denies this. He’s also denied the existence of TMZ when they’re right in his face, so go figure.)

Some women threw broken Guinness bottles at ‘Kylo’ during a live performance in Michigan. Women with strong throwing arms. One bottle hit him in the pelvic belt… that was during a low-rise jean phase everyone went through. Probably would’ve been a nothingburger if he got offstage treatment. Everyone thought it was so cool the way this kid kept playing. A few shards got into his eye area, though. Then they had to take him down. And that was before the masks and uniforms.

Born in New York and raised all over the world. They really liked that line. It wasn’t Ben’s, but he wore it after a while. He would hate anyone to know, but if you asked someone from before the Knights of Ren, they’d tell you he grew up in North Wetyin, which never existed on a map, ever. He got the shit kicked out of him in school, too. He dressed kind of like maybe he was gay? Sure, he was a tall tree, but he looked weird and talked funny, and you could see how sad he was. It’s mean; kids get mean in middle school, but those kids he went to school with just didn’t like him, and they seemed to want him to know it.

Into the Reverb (Kylo Ren/Reader)

Chapter Twenty Four

After your little heart to heart, you wanted to spend the rest of the day in his arms, but then you remembered your place. Shit. After this morning’s excitement, you totally forgot about your to-do list and the mess that was your condo. You grimace at yourself at the thought of telling him, potentially ruining the moment. You sighed knowing you had to be a responsible adult and get over it, he would understand. When you finally told him, he simply smiled and said that it would be fine if he could come with you.

On your drive back, you talked about your options and what Kylo could remember about the party. It felt good to be able to talk and laugh with him again. When you reached home, he held your hands in the SUV and promised he would fully support you in any way you needed. It makes your heart happy to know you are not alone.

As Kylo took a much needed shower, you picked up and threw in a load of laundry. Your phone pinged again. Looking at your phone, you saw three more missed calls from unknown numbers. You sigh, turning your phone on do not disturb mode. As you shut the laundry door, your eyes catch a flash of pale skin. Your eyes widen as you see Kylo standing shirtless at your kitchen island, talking on the phone. His black lounge pants hang low on his hips, showing off his strong back muscles.

You smirk to yourself as you walk up behind him enjoying the view. As your eyes graze over him, you notice his side. He never told you he got a new tattoo. It is beautifully detailed, wrapped around the right side of his ribs. The tendrils of the lion’s mane looked almost alive as his muscles moved.

You run your fingers lightly over the lines, watching him involuntarily shiver. “Hold on a second” you hear him say as he faces you. He smirks as he raises his arm, beckoning you to his side. You snuggle in, enjoying his freshly showered scent.

“Yeah, I’m back Hux” he says, squeezing you closer. “Yeah, she’s here, oh ok, I’ll put you on speaker.” He turns on the speaker phone as he leads you to the couch, immediately pulling you into his lap. You squeak in surprise at his actions. “Kylo, focus please” you hear Hux say “you two can enjoy each other on your own time.”

“What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him” he whispers in your ear as he playfully rocks his hips. You can feel his hardening cock graze your inner thighs. You let out an involuntary moan as you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him closer. “Ren!” Hux snapped through the speaker “while Cassian and I are thrilled you both made up, we have to discuss some serious things please.”

You begin to run a hand through his damp hair, his eyes fluttering at your soft touch. “Okay, have you both decided how much access you will allow the media regarding this?” Hux asked. Kylo opens his eyes and nods, eyes full of love and support. You decide then and there if he is by your side, you can do anything.

“We’ve decided on doing a couple phone interviews and one in person interview, but I want it done with at least Chewie present” you answer, hoping you sound confident. “Ok, we can do that” Hux says. A familiar voice floats in the background on Hux’s side. “Cassian?” you say. Kylo's arms stiffen around you.

“Hola, hermosa” Cassian says over some interference “are you and Kylo good now?” You smile as you continue to run your hand through his adorable inky curls. You see him smirk and begin to lightly kiss your jaw and neck again. “Yeah, yeah we’re good” you say. “Good, good to hear, mi amor” he says as the sound of rustling gets louder. “Oh, what Armie? oh ok, cool. No, I haven’t heard from Phasma or Chewie yet…” Cassian says through the speaker. As the two lawyers talk to each other on the other side of the call, you shut your eyes, reveling in the feeling of his big body wrapped around you. You begin to roll your hips against him. He growls into your neck, nipping it lightly.

“Ky, are you really okay with this?” you sigh, trying your hardest not to get too worked up while on the phone. “Obviously” he mumbles against your neck, thrusting his hips up once more. You feel a flash of arousal flow through your body. You bite your lower lip fighting back a moan as a shiver wracks your body.

You grip his hair pulling his head up to meet yours. “Not that Ky, all of this, all this crap? Are you okay with it?” you say, holding his gaze. “Yes, baby girl, whatever you feel comfortable with, I’m totally okay with that. And before you ask, I’m totally okay with keeping us to ourselves like we discussed in the car. If you ever want to change that, just tell me, okay?” he says, kissing your lips lightly.

You hear the rustling lessen as the voices get closer to the speaker again. “Okay guys, sorry about that” Hux says “so, Cassian is on the phone with D’Kar now. If they agree with the plan, we will make an official statement acknowledging your professional relationship and your contribution to the album tonight.” “Sounds good” you say, nodding in confirmation.

“Okay. We will message you if anything changes. Y/N, just ignore any call, text, or email you get from anyone you don’t know. We will review them tomorrow at the studio so we can contact each one” Hux says. Your face warms at how amazing and caring they have been towards you.

“Thank you so much guys. I really appreciate it” you say. You feel Kylo hug you a bit tighter. “No worries” Hux says laughing “it’s well worth it in the end especially now I don’t have to deal with Kylo’s surly ass as much as I did before.” “Fuck you Hux” Kylo growls. “Fuck you too good buddy” Hux says, ending the call.

You drop your head onto Kylo’s shoulder, releasing a nervous breath. You can feel his hands on your back drawing light patterns. It’s grounding, someone to focus on rather than the life changing conversation you just had. “You’re thinking too loud, baby girl” he says. You look up at him, embarrassed of ruining the playful mood. “Sorry” you whisper, trying to extract yourself from him but he holds on tight.

“Baby, it’s just me okay; you can tell me” he says, running his fingers through your hair. “I just…” you start, pausing to take another deep breath to calm down “I thought I ruined the mood by talking about all this.” You hear him chuckle lowly as he grips your hip, making you fall onto his bare chest. Your hands meet his warm skin. “Baby you couldn’t ruin the mood even if you tried” he says, capturing your lips.

You never thought in a million years you would feel as safe and loved as you do right now. Being with Kylo like this made your heart flutter and sing. Is this what love feels like? You have never been in love before. You were too afraid before to let someone in like this. But Kylo has shown you nothing but devotion. He accepts you for the imperfect person that you are. You melt into him, not wanting to be anywhere but here in his arms.

“Kylo” you groan as he nipped and kissed at your collarbone. “Yes baby?” he whispers as he kisses right above your heart. “Take me to bed” you whisper back, gripping at his massive shoulders. He groans loudly into your chest as you lightly drag your short nails up his upper back.

You are suddenly airborne, his strong arms supporting your thighs and ass. You smile as you wrap your arms around his neck. He moved like a man on a mission, pushing your pillows off your messy bed. “I’m going to fucking ruin you” he growls as he drops you on the bed. You already have, you think, quickly losing yourself in his lips.

There's a modern AU kylux/benarmie fic that lives in my head rent free set to the album Simple Forms by The Naked and Famous, where Hux and Ben were in school together, and not friends at all until they were assigned some project together and realized how well they clicked. As Ben gets to know more about Hux, he starts to twig on to how abusive his father is. One night, Ben is coming over to work on the project and hears a gunshot - rushing into the house, instead of away from danger, Ben sees Armie standing over his father's body with a gun. Hux had finally snapped at his father's latest round of violence. They manage to call Hux's unofficial aunt Sloane, who works with his father but has always tried to protect Hux, and she manages the clean-up, sending Hux away with Ben to the big Homecoming bonfire the high school has every year to give Hux an alibi. His father was in with some sort of organized crime, so it's not hard to make it look like a rival took him out. They confess at the bonfire, and it's very sweet, teenage-romance vibes, but by the next morning, Sloane has packed Hux off to boarding school to keep him safe and away from the investigation, and Ben never hears from him again.

Until...Hux has to come back to the town to do something regarding the house that was still in his name, idk, legal things, and he's a high powered lawyer now, his life full of meaningless and risky hook-ups, back room deals, and too much cocaine. He's a mess, never dealt with his trauma, but he looks extremely put together. Ben, meanwhile, is ok with his life but /looks/ a mess. He never left town, goes by Kylo with his band, popular in the local scene, and is a bartender. Hux stops into the bar the first night he's in town, and it goes from there, with a lot of hurt between them to reconcile.

I've always visualized Hux burning down his childhood home at the end, holding Kylo's hand as he watches it crumble.

I also always wanted to write more with the Knights of Ren, maybe a sequel to Cause and End, but I never got a good enough idea for the plot.

I doubt either will get written, sorry!
