Together Again / Jimmy Keene x fem!reader
Part 1 here
Summary: it had been 13 months of Jimmy's sentence and working to learn about Larry's crimes so he could be out sooner, fearing for his safety even further. The thought of seeing you again reminds Jimmy of memories of your life together, pushing him to reveal the truth from Larry about his killings.
Warnings: 18+ NO MINORS mentions of crimes, mentions of serial killer Larry Hall, brief mention of sex, lmk if I missed anything.
Authors note: absolutely my love! I have noticed not a lot of people write for him and that makes me sad because I loved the series and the character! Thank you 😁 that means a lot. Of course, I like both ideas so I decided to incorporate both. I hope you liked it and it turned out the way you wanted. Liking, reblogging, and commenting really helps me out! Thank you and enjoy!

13 months. It had been 13 months since Jimmy had been arrested and taken from you. It had been the hardest 13 months of your life but you knew it had been even harder for Jimmy. When he had told you about the deal where he would be out in a year and a half but had to gather intel by befriending a suspected serial killer, you had disagreed. You felt it would be far too dangerous and mentally draining for Jimmy to deal with, potentially hearing confessions of horrific crimes against young vulnerable girls. The idea had made you feel sick inside. You knew Jimmy would be able to be a free man, back with you in a much shorter amount of time but still, at what cost? Potentially his life if Larry found out he was lying?
Jimmy had spent the whole phone call and the next meeting talking about why it was a good idea and why he should take the deal, trying his hardest for you to be okay with the idea. Eventually, you ended up caving, needing him back with you, in your shared home. A second chance to turn your lives around and be happy together. But that didn't mean you were any less terrified of him not turning up at your next meeting. The fear that Larry would figure him out and kill him for betraying his trust made your blood run cold every time, filling you with dread.
Jimmy would spend the majority of his nights in his cell thinking and dreaming about getting back to you, back to his girl. He missed his dad of course but you were the things that kept him sane through the whole process and what allowed him to get close to Larry, you were a very motivational thought. He would often spend hours lying awake thinking about your life together, reminiscing about the special moments you spent together and how much he truly missed them. Missed you. And of course, he missed the more intimate and sexual moments you shared together. He didn't exactly have freedom or privacy in here, people would be listening and that didn't appeal to him.
Jimmy thought about the first day he met you five years ago, he had fallen for you the second he saw you. You were so beautiful in your red polka-dot sundress and small white heels as you sat with your friends in the local diner, you were drinking a vanilla milkshake. The way you held his eye contact as he walked past with his friends drew him in immediately, especially as that little blush smile appeared on your face before looking away. After thirty minutes of stolen glances and flirty smiles, Jimmy finally got the courage to come up and talk to you. The conversation flowed so well and neither of you could seem to stay far apart from the other. It didn't take it long for him to ask you on a date.
He thought about your first date the following weekend, he wanted to impress you so he took you to a nice restaurant. You had blown him away when he picked you up, dressed to impress. You wore a black cocktail dress with a slit that came to mid-thigh and showed just enough cleavage to be tasteful, it hugged your curves perfectly. Jimmy had never seen someone so effortlessly beautiful before, you made him hard just looking at you. The date had gone better than either you had imagined, you had connected on another level, and everything just felt so natural between you both. As if you had known each other for years. As the night went on, you inched closer and closer to one another, faces inches apart until you shared your first kiss. It was gentle and passionate, just perfect.
He thought about the first night you spent together, a month after he'd met you. You were the first girl he wanted to wait to sleep with, to show you he was genuinely serious about you. He knew from the moment you first talked that you were the one, he just had this gut feeling that told him so. It was the same night he had asked you to be his girlfriend, you had said yes to being his and he could not have been happier. He didn't feel like he deserved you but he damn well would show you how lucky he felt. It had been a night full of passion and intimacy, gentle touches and taking everything slow. He didn't want to just fuck you and be done, no, he wanted to take his time and make you feel loved. Sex had never felt that good with anyone else, none of the others had mattered enough to take his time with them. But you, you were different, special to him.
He thought about the day he first met your parents and you had met his, a day apart. Meeting your parents was something that genuinely terrified him when not a lot did, but he truly wanted your parents to like him and approve of you guys dating. It comforted him to know that you were equally as scared as he was to meet the parents, not that you had to be though because he already knew his father would love you. What was not to love? You were amazing. You even went as far as to get a gift for his father, you wanted to make a good impression. Jimmy himself had bought flowers for your mother and some beer for your father. Seeing how much each other's familes loved the other made you both feel so happy. Both days had gone so well that it solidified your relationship all the more, you were it for one another.
He thought about the day he had asked you to move in with him, it was about eight months after you first started dating. Nothing felt as right as the day he'd asked you to move in with him, he knew it was the right thing to do. Every day when he watched you leave his house would kill him, he didn't want to be apart from you. He felt completely and whole when you were near, he always had to touch you in some way. A hand on your thigh, his arm around your back or shoulder, his lips kissing your head or face frequently, he just wanted to always feel you close. You didn't mind, you loved it, your love language was physical affection and words of affirmation. So for you, it was perfect. So when he asked you to live with him, it just made sense and felt like you were serious enough to make that huge step.
He thought about the simple happy days you spent together over the years, enjoying one another's company. Being in prison made him miss the small stuff, things he realised he'd taken for granted before. Something as simple as cuddling in bed, being able to kiss you, say good morning, watching a film whilst cuddling on the sofa, the small things. He missed them so much, he missed you so much. Yes, he got to see you every few weeks but it wasn't the same, he couldn't touch you or spend proper time with you. It was absolute hell for you both, there was nothing more than either of you wanted than to share an intimate kiss or have some alone time.
The next time Jimmy saw you was a month later, 14 months of serving his sentence and 14 months of hell. He was beyond exhausted and mentally drained, he looked tired and a bit worn down but still as handsome as the day he left. He'd been working out plenty whilst inside you'd noticed, his arms visibly bigger than a year ago. Having to talk to Jimmy behind a glass wall with phones was torture, having him so close and yet you couldn't touch or speak to him properly without that weird muffled sounding voice. You placed your hand against the glass with a sad smile, watching intently as Jimmy sat down opposite you, the same expression evident on his face as his hand meets yours. The distance was getting to you both, that much was apparent.
"Hi." You say quietly, as each month passed, it become more and more emotional every time you came to visit Jimmy, you just wanted him home. "Hey sweetheart, how's my girl doing?" Jimmy wonders with a smile, he needed something to distract himself. You didn't really know what to say, how were you supposed to tell him you'd been utterly lost without him all this time, not really doing much of anything outside of keeping your shared home cleaner than it's ever been and visiting his dad a few times a week to try and distract yourself. Or how lonely your bed felt each night, especially as you found yourself waking up on Jimmy's side of the bed as you wore one of his shirts to sleep in.
"I'm okay, mostly worried about you. I'm spending loads of time with your dad though, so that's good. How are you holding up?" You lied because you needed to be strong for Jimmy, if he knew you weren't doing okay mentally or emotionally, he would be worrying himself to death inside every day and would be racked with guilt. More so than he already does, and you didn't want that. You saw a flash of some emotion you couldn't pinpoint in Jimmy's eyes before he smiled, you were never good at lying, so it wouldn't surprise you if he could see straight through your lie.
"Good baby, I'm glad. I'm hoping I won't be in here much longer, I feel like I'm getting close to Larry, I think he'll give up details soon. And then I can finally come home, and we can be together again... If you'll have me." Jimmy smiled hopefully as if he was expecting you to get fed up and leave him. He was surprised you hadn't, though he wouldn't have blamed you when his sentence was read out. 10 years was a long time to wait for someone. Yet you stayed faithfully by his side this whole time. He had some ass-kissing and making-up to do when he got out.
A look of hurt flashed across your face, "You know I will, of course, baby. You're my everything." It made you sad to think Jimmy believed you would leave him, you would never! Not that you could even if you wanted to, you were hooked and too deeply in love with Jimmy to leave now. He's your forever. He was the person you wanted to spend the rest of your life with, to be your husband and the father of your children.
A look of relief appears on Jimmy's face, "You're too good for me baby, I don't deserve you." He whispers into the phone, a longing and loving look in his eyes. You shake your head, disagreeing, "You're plenty enough and wonderful, and so deserving of me and my love." Your voice has a shake to it, tears brimming your eyes. "I really need you home." You whisper with a sigh, trying your hardest not to cry. Jimmy huffs, an intense gaze on his face, "I want to be so badly, hopefully, it won't be too much longer now and we can be back together again."
The buzzer goes off and the guards come along to escort you out, letting you know your time together was up. You look back to Jimmy and smile sadly, "I love you, be safe okay? Come back to me." You whisper with tears in your eyes. Jimmy nods, "I love you, I'll see you soon baby." He watches you stand and walk away, watching you leave broke his heart every time. He vowed from that moment that he was going to get those details from Larry and he was going to get out, back home to you.

You can't call Loki from the Loki tv series Larry bc that's using a real person's name to insult someone
In the nicest way possible...what? The point of calling the show character Larry is to differentiate him from Loki by giving him a different name in order to 1) highlight how wildly ooc the show character is to the point of being a separate character entirely who just happens to be played by Tom Hiddleston and 2) for my own sanity bc I refuse to refer to what is very evidently not Loki as "Loki." Larry was the first thing that popped into my head, probably because it begins with an L and maybe also because of Larry the clown from Veggie Tales.
Are you insulted that the Larry the clown from Veggie Tales is named Larry? Or speaking of Tom Hiddleston characters, are you insulted that in Crimson Peak the character of an incestuous serial wife murderer is named Thomas? Is that insulting to people named Tom? (Tom Hiddleston certainly didn't seem to think so given that he played the role). Or - Lucille is a real name. It's also the name of his abusive sister in the movie. Is that supposed to be a problem?
It would be one thing if I said I was calling him Larry because he sucks and so do all real people named Larry but I didn't say that bc that would be an insane thing to say. I might've just as easily called him Bob. But I didn't.
Larry is a common name in some parts of the world and many people have it - including Larry Hall the suspected serial killer and Larry Stewart the famed philanthropist. It's just a name. Neither good nor evil. It doesn't mean anything either positive or negative to call someone Larry or to have that name.
In this case I am using it to distinguish the ooc travesty in the Loki series from the character he was supposed to be. And honestly I find asks like this to be just another attempt at silencing criticism of the series - just like people saying that any criticism is "negativity" and didn't belong in the tags.

Black Bird (prod. Dennis Lehane).
Apple’s miniseries adaptation of James Keene’s autobiographical novel, In with the Devil, about his time in prison with suspected serial killer and rapist Larry Hill is a striking crime thriller series. Lehane uses the prison drama formula to create a chilling atmosphere around the gory crimes we never see. As Keene and Hall, Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser portray their real-life characters with a captivating presence.

THE AARONS 2022 - Best TV Performance
I don’t have a joke for this one either. I agree it’s not my best performance. Here is The Aaron for Best TV Performance:
Tumblr media
WINNER: Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler - Better Call Saul
Tumblr media
One wouldn’t have to try hard to make the case that lawyer Kim Wexler was essential to Saul’s success. Subsequently, one could easily wax on about Seehorn’s contributions to the series. From her ingenuity in the courtroom to her resolve in times of crisis, Wexler had throughout the series been its strongest character. In lesser hands, she would have come off as indestructible, but Seehorn never lost sight of the growing cracks in her facade. That dam finally burst in the penultimate episode ‘Waterworks,’ which hinged upon an unbroken take of Wexler’s complete emotional breakdown. The whole-hog heart-rending sequence by Seehorn was indisputable proof that the lawyer was television’s best character, bar none.
Tumblr media
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Bob Odenkirk as Saul Goodman - Better Call Saul
Seehorn’s win shouldn’t diminish the power of the show’s principal attorney; even as his character reached rock bottom, Oderkirk was never less than great, man.
Tumblr media
Sarah Goldberg as Sally Reed - Barry
Reed may be a struggling actor, but Goldberg is a star; the impact of her outbursts forces viewers to confront the true extent of Barry’s violent behavior.
Tumblr media
Paddy Considine as King Viserys I Targaryen - House of the Dragon
Considine’s exasperated monarch, scaling back infighting to his very last breath, was the crowning achievement of the spin-off’s first season.
Tumblr media
Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hall - Black Bird
After his hair-raising handling of serial killer Hall, Black Bird is sure to send Hauser’s career soaring to new heights.

NEXT UP: THE 2022 AARON FOR BEST SUPPORTING TV PERFORMANCE!

Did Larry Hall Raped His Victims? - Black Birds
Tumblr media
Apple TV+'s new true-crime show Black Bird examines the clandestine operation that tries to catch a serial killer: Larry DeWayne Hall. Taron Egerton stars as James "Jimmy", Keene, and Paul Walter Hauser plays Hall. The drama follows Keene's attempts to make friends with Hall and obtain a confession about his alleged murders. This is all you need to know about Hall the real person and where he is at present. "Black Bird": Larry Hall's Story and Where is He Now? An Apple TV+ investigator says they suspect Larry Hall of killing 14 women. However, they only have one body. There are still questions about Hall's grasp on reality. Hall is played by Paul Walter Hauser in one scene. Hall claims they are "just dreams", but insists otherwise. Prosecutors were concerned that Hall could be freed after his appeal conviction. To get a confession, they used Jimmy Keene, an ex-high school football player, to recruit. Keene would receive an early release from his 10-year-old drug-related sentence. The story unfolded in real life similarly. Hall was convicted in 1995 of abducting, sexually assaulting and strangling Jessica Roach, 15, and was sentenced. According to police, Hall spoke out about hurting other women during his interrogation. He also revealed information that led them believe he was involved in the 1993 disappearance Tricia Reitler (199) and other unsolved murders. Although Hall was later found with evidence linking him to both crimes in his home, he told investigators that he did it to get attention and feel valuable. Hall also retracted his confession to investigators, saying that he was only telling them about his dreams. CNN claims that this didn't happen. Roach's kidnapping at Springfield's United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners resulted in him being sentenced to life without parole. Police believed Hall had also killed 19 young women but didn't have enough evidence to convict him. They believed Hall knew the location of Reitler's corpse and sent Keene to maximum security prison to get a confession. This was to stop any appeal efforts that might have been made to free the serial killer. Keene reported that Hall gradually warmed to Keene and confessed Reitler's 1993 murder. Hall refused to reveal the exact location of her body. Keene later met Hall in prison and told him that he had a map showing red dots across Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. Hall claimed that he was making wooden falcons for "watching over the dead." Keene believed he had enough evidence to release Hall and confronted him. He was placed in isolation. Keene was able to escape and the map and falcons vanished, but Keene was still released by prosecutors in 1999.CNN/screenshot Hall tried to appeal, but it was unsuccessful. He attempted suicide as per the Black Bird Series. CNN was told by experts that Hall could have murdered up to 40 women, although he wasn't charged with any other crimes than Roach. The exact number of victims is not known as Hall has made many confessions over the years. However, he would later retract them. Hall confessed in 2011 to having been involved in the disappearance of Laurie Depies, 20, in 1992. However, officials did not charge him because of his track record and lack of evidence. Hall, 59, is still serving his life sentence at North Carolina's Federal Correctional Complex in Butner. Although it is unlikely that Hall will ever be freed from prison, his family continues to seek closure for the disappearing women he is suspected of murdering. Larry Hall Really Raped His Victims? Larry Hall told Gary Miller and Jessica Roach that he had raped Tricia Reitler during the investigation. He later denied these confessions, saying that he was only sharing his dreams. According to "In with the Devil", Randolph reportedly stated that he had sex with Tricia after stabbing Tricia. Miller claims that Larry forced Jessica into his van and abducted her. Miller discovered that Larry had stopped by a pond near which he raped and then murdered Jessica, according to "In with the Devil."Image Credit: Dateline NBC/NBC Larry was not tried for Jessica's murder, but her cause of death couldn't be determined. He was convicted of abducting and sexually assaulting Jessica. His confession in which he confessed to raping and strangling Jessica was read to the jury during the trial. Read the full article

BLACK BIRD: Review.
TYPE: TV series. GENRE: Drama, True Crime. STARRING: Taron Egerton, Paul Walter Hauser. EPISODES: Six. LOCATION: Apple TV+
If you know me, you probably know I love a few things. One of them being true crime, another being Taron Egerton. So when you combine those things, surely it’s going to be amazing.
And I was right. Black Bird blew all of my expectations out of the park and left me speechless.
Black Bird is a drama that is based on the true case of serial killer Larry DeWayne Hall, and the bravery of James ‘Jimmy’ Keene that helped keep him in the prison he’s serving a life sentence in today. The adaptation is based on the memoir by Kenne himself, ‘In With The Devil’, and follows the story of how he ended up ‘befriending’ an inmate of North Carolina federal prison, a maximum-security prison in Springfield, Missouri. After being faced with a 10 year prison sentence for drug trafficking, Keene is offered a deal: get a body location, and walk free.
Evidently, Keene begins to become more emotionally attached to the case and victims he’s learnt about, and it erupts into a blazing need to get justice for the girls and peace for their families. Larry was in prison for the abduction and murder of a 15-year-old girl, Jessica Roach, but there was a concern that his appeal would be successful and he could be released, based on the fact that they didn’t have Roach’s body. The six episode series follows the journey of Keene balancing a friendship with Hall while trying to survive in a high stakes environment, desperate to get what he came for and get out. The rest of the story is for you to uncover and experience yourself.
This is the part where I have no idea where to even begin. Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser, you have created a masterpiece. While true crime isn’t something that everyone is interested in, there is no doubt in my mind that anyone who watches even one scene of these two phenomenal actors together will be stunned speechless by their performances. From episode 1, both actors had me on the edge of my seat, and they should be greatly applauded for their dedication to their characters. Both of their depictions are entirely raw and just straight up incredible.
Paul Hauser is one brave man. Taking on a role as intense as Larry Hall must’ve been daunting as all hell, but he laid everything out on the table when performing in Black Bird and I truly think no one could have done it like him. The relationship that he and Taron were able to develop and portray in just 6 episodes (1 of them in which they don’t even interact) is outstanding and I hope they work together again one day. Paul’s acting gave me chills, got under my skin and down right scared the crap out of me. I can still remember how gobsmacked I was after finishing the first episode, which ends with a scene of Hall being questioned that left me in awe of his talent and commitment. Everything from his mannerisms to his voice to the slow blinking, the smallest things made this show as astounding as it is, and it’s truly no wonder the ratings and views have gone through the roof.
Now to Taron. Again, if you know me, you know how much I adore this man. His talent is like no other, and ever since Rocketman I’ve been a fan and itch for more of his work- but this time we got more than his spectacular acting. Taron Egerton was also an executive producer for Black Bird, and I hope he’s as proud of himself as we all are. To balance being the main actor and an executive producer is already bewildering, but the way he did it with such care and grace in his first experience of doing so is just astonishing, as Paul so rightly expressed in his recent instagram post. Taron had thought out every single minute action in his portrayal. You could see the desperation in Jimmy’s eyes, and the conflict internally between being Hall’s friend and hating him all at once. The final scene between Hall and Keene left me with my jaw on the floor (no spoilers, I promise). The raw emotion left my heart heavy and essentially speechless. I am so entirely proud of him, and I hope he is too.
Listen, I could go on and on about this show, and I could do scene by scene breakdowns, but it will all have the same conclusion: Taron Egerton and Paul Walter Hauser, Black Bird was mind blowing, and you have shown everyone how it's done. Thank you, and congratulations. (And yes, yes I did subscribe to Apple TV just for this show). As someone who has been interested in true crime for a while, I’ve noticed how we occasionally start to get answers after a case is brought back into the light and a fire is lit under the police’s asses, and you just might have sparked a new movement to get the families some peace. Even if that doesn’t happen, you’ve made the victims be seen, heard and known, and thanks to you and the rest of the amazing team who worked on this show, they will never be forgotten.
I dedicate this, my first review, to the suspected victims of Larry Hall, and as a big fuck you to the man himself. These girls deserved to live a full life and experience everything it has to offer. Rest in peace,
