Lu Ten benefits most in the stories where he dies from the Rashomon-effect and that Azula's voice is central where Zuko's is peripheral

In all truth he treated her with baseline dignity as a human being allowed to be human. He neither put her on a pedestal nor called her a monster and treated her accordingly, nor did he seek to weaponize her. He valued her as his cousin, no more and no less. This is a ludicrously low bar, and it's an indictment of the Fire Nation Royals that only Hino and Lu Ten actually manage to cross it in real time, as well as an illustration of how deeply enmeshed their toxicity actually is.

That is the Lu Ten that Azula sees.

The Lu Ten that went to war with his father and rose from Captain to general in the Fire Nation Army was an actually genuinely skilled and gifted Fire Nation Army officer who was ruthless to degrees bordering on Rough Rhinos/Marauder Army proportions. As Iroh is Grant, Lu Ten has shades of William Tecumseh "BURN BABY BURN" Sherman.

His approach to war would have seen scorched-earth campaigns directly targeting the willpower of their enemies to carry on the war and willfully unleashing vandalism on a scale to deliberately create and weaponize famines had he lived.

The Fire Nation also had a nasty habit of burning people as 'discipline', both in their Army and beyond it. By the standard of Army officers and in tune with Sherman Lu Ten is a hardass who did this more than usual, and relied on a bit of the old 'it would take a brave man to be a coward in my formations' methods. As he would see it he is saving lives by targeting the very marrow and sinew of their enemies' abilities to sustain a seemingly endless war.

As they would see it the only thing that kept him from becoming a second Azulon in the AUs where he dies is that he was slain in the Siege.

Lu Ten is also in his early 20s when he died and started his war service at 14, the same age that Azula was sent to fight. His meteoric rise from captain to division commander is partially nepotism, partially that in seven years he proved himself an effective officer and when Iroh ascended to the throne he would have taken his place as general in chief of the armies at the front. Which would be very largely nepotism, though Shermanesque ruthlessness would have done much to quash it, and unleashing the Kempeitai equivalents to take heads of people who protested too loudly would have done the rest.

Part of Lu Ten's greater empathy to Azula is that he is bisexual and polyamorous, having his girlfriend/future wife Naru (who in keeping with my naming theme is named after Sailor Moon's friend Naru Osaka) and his boyfriend Kenpachiro. And had he lived he would have directly collapsed the Sozin Laws for his own personal reasons. This is one of the areas where when he was alive Iroh flat out failed as a father, and created a lot of messy feelings between father and son that contribute to Iroh's grief. It was an unspoken secret in the family and Azulon essentially rolled with it under the basis that Iroh would successfully quash it or Naru would, and if he didn't he would have sought to correct Lu Ten personally and probably would have died in the effort.

Lu Ten is also an extremely powerful Firebender, with the main advantages that Ozai, Iroh, and Azulon having over him that they have more experience and that he in turn has an extra set of years on his cousins plus serving in combat for years instead of part of a year for Azula and just over a year for Zuko meaning he has a much bigger variety of nasty dirty tricks to pull that they're still blushing innocents with.

He was also/is also a sincere, genuine imperialist in a Gorbachevian fashion, which would be one of his problems in actual power as he would have operated under the completely sincere belief ala Sozin that the Fire Nation really is making life better for peoples incapable of ruling themselves and that its subjects endorse its empire and would do so with kinder rule within its dominions. On this score, at least, Sozin, Azulon, and Iroh were under no such illusions.

As far as my AU extended Fire Nation Royals are concerned, he was one of the most sincerely respectful to Princess Usaki and had the harshest view of Princess Jiren of anyone in the family, because he believed his own family experience was perfect until it abruptly wasn't and didn't turn violent because of issues. Which is another reason why he tends to benefit in the AUs where he dies from dying and not having to face a cousin with a violent streak who's completely uninterested in hearing why she was wrong to go full Lizzie Borden on people who 110% deserved it.

DinLuke 10. high school popular kid/nerd au

I've been sitting on this AU Fic request all week because High School was a long time ago for me and I have no idea what all you young people are doing these days. After talking to Dark, I finally came up with an idea based off what I remember from high school in the 1990s. Hence this is one of the more serious ficlets I've done, but then again I've never thought of the high school genre as a happy one? Unless we're talking about Sailor Moon or something (which trust me I WAS TEMPTED).

10. High school popular kid/nerd AU

Warnings: USA centric, Time period appropriate homophobia, homophobic language, school bullying.

This looked so easy in the movies.

Din squinted at his target, readjusted his stance and after a moment, let the small pebble fly from his hand. It made a graceful arch…and landed on the top of the roof instead of hitting Luke’s second floor bedroom window. Again. He groaned.

“I can’t believe you’re the Captain of the football team.”

Din yelped and spun around. Standing directly behind him was Luke’s twin sister, staring at him with an annoyed expression on her face. She was still dressed in the same white cardigan, pink spaghetti strap tank and skinny jeans he’d seen her in at school, and was carrying her silver JanSport bag on her back and her clarinet case in one hand. If looks could kill, Din would be….well. Not dead, but most likely wounded, since the look Leia Amidala Skywalker was giving him was one of distrust and utter annoyance.

A thousand different excuses flew through Din’s head, in one ear and out the other. Of all the things he could have said, what actually came out was, “I thought you had Jazz Band today.” Or was it Model UN? Was it Thursday yet?

“It was cancelled. Ms. Junda is out sick.” Leia used her free hand to push her glasses further up her nose. “Why didn’t you just use the front door like a normal person?” She shook her head at him and started to walk towards her front door.

Din hesitated.

Leia looked back and rolled her eyes. “My parents aren’t home. My mom has another fundraiser and my dad got dragged into helping. Doesn’t my parasitic twin tell you anything?”

Din frowned. He took AP Bio and that insult made no sense. “Did you two have another argument?”

Leia gave him an incredulous look. “We never fight.”

Not according to Luke, but Din wisely avoided mentioning that. “My pager got confiscated,” Din admitted. “It went off during history and Mr. Mundi took it.”

“You could have just talked to him,” Leia said. Then she used the palm of her hand to hit her head. “Oh duh, I forgot. You’re too cool to talk to Wormie and Squirmie at school.”

“Hey!” Din walked over to Leia. “I don’t call you guys that.” He hated Luke and Leia’s stupid nicknames. He couldn’t stand the way the other kids treated the Skywalker twins, especially Fett and his gang of morons.

Leia’s hand jingled as she pulled out her house key. “You don’t stop them,” she said quietly as she turned her back to Din. “It’s pretty much the same thing.”

Din felt his heart drop into his chest. That wasn’t true. Every time he heard his teammates talking smack about other kids he told them off. But apart from Football practice, he didn’t really spend time talking with Fett and his friends. He was too busy working his afterschool job at Blockbuster and helping his foster mom with the other kids. “I would,” he protested. “If Fett or anyone else ever said anything to my face about you and Luke, I would smack ‘em.”

Leia side eyed him, with her hand still clutching at her front door. “What about Han? Would you stand up for him?”

“Han Solo?” Din blinked. The infamous dropout of Coruscant High? “I thought he joined a biker gang?”

That was the wrong thing to say. Leia whirled around. “No he didn’t! What is wrong with you!” She swung her clarinet case at Din and he had to take several steps back. “I don’t know what Luke sees in you, you stupid jock!”

“HEY! Shhh! I’m sorry, I’m sorry ok! Calm down!” Din looked around nervously to see if anyone had heard Leia. He had no idea what he’d done to piss Luke’s sister off. They’d never had more than a few short conversations with each other ever since Din moved into town two years ago.

“What? You don’t want people to know you’re a homo?” Leia shouted at him. She had tears in her eyes. “You afraid you’ll stop being Mr. Popular if they knew you were a gaylord like Luke? Huh? You thick headed, scruffy looking….Neanderthal!”

“Leia!”

Din and Leia both froze. They hadn’t noticed the front door opening nor noticed Luke until he was standing right in front of them. His blond hair was all disheveled and he had an ice pack in one hand and the beginnings of an awful black eye on his swollen face. His lip was cut up and there was blood dotting his green t-shirt.

“What happened!” Din blurted out. He pushed past Leia to hover next to Luke. “Who did this?!”

Luke winced and pulled away before Din could touch his face. “I’m fine. Will you two get in here before you get outed to the entire town?”

Din opened his mouth to reply but was shoved into the doorframe by a furious Leia. “I didn’t know it was this bad.” She grabbed her brother’s hand and dragged him into their living room.

“I’m fine!” Luke repeated. “How’d you even find out?”

“Amy told me. She saw the fight.” She pulled Luke over to their couch and nudged her brother into sitting. Din quietly closed the door and watched the siblings from a safe distance. Amy must have been Amilyn Holdo, the school’s resident weirdo. She was one of Leia’s best friends and another frequent target of the meaner kids in their class.

“Ugh Leia, quit it! Did you skip Jazz Band for me?!” Luke tried to wiggle away from his sister as Leia fussed over his cut lip.

“I thought it was cancelled,” Din frowned.

“That’s what we’re telling my parents,” Leia muttered. “But I don’t think we can explain this!”

Luke sighed. “You know they won’t even notice.” He sounded so defeated that Din felt a surge of rage at Mrs. Skywalker and her busy city council career.

“Mom’s gonna notice a black eye!” Leia paused. “Eventually.”

Din counted to three just like his foster mother was always telling him to do. “Will someone tell me what the hell happened?!”

Both twins turned to look at him simultaneously, doing that creepy staring thing that made them frequent targets of the school bullies. “Greedo,” they both said at once.

Ugh. He really liked Luke, but that was just too creepy. It reminded him of the movie Village of the Damned. “Christopher Greedo?”

They both nodded. “He insulted Han,” Luke protested. “Spreading rumors about him and nobody was saying anything.”

OH. Now Leia’s earlier comments made sense. “You tried to fight Greedo?” Chris Greedo was infamous for his bad temper, a real ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ type of jerk.

“He keeps spreading that stupid biker gang rumor. Nobody knows what really happened to him.” Luke kept clenching and unclenching his fists--which also looked bruised. “I couldn’t take it anymore.”

Din slowly started to approach the twins, keeping one eye on Leia. She glared at him but still scooted over so that Din could sit next to Luke.

“What really happened?” He asked gently. He only hesitated for a moment before he reached over and grabbed one of Luke’s bruised hands.

“Han’s old man threw him out.” Leia answered instead of Luke. “He’s been homeless for the last four months.”

“He’s currently living with Chuy Baca’s family on the East Side,” Luke added. “It’s not fair! Han was so close to finally graduating this year but Leia and I can’t convince him to come back.”

“That’s messed up,” Din said as he looked at Leia. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”

It felt like he was being judged by Leia as her brown eyes peered into him. “It’s alright,” she said finally. “Now you do.”

There was a whole lot of school politics that Din didn’t understand, even though he’d been living in Coruscant for two years. He knew that Han, Leia and Luke’s nerdy group of friends were low on the social totem pole and by sheer luck Din’s athletic ability meant he was attractive to the popular group that ran the school. Boba Fett in particular acted like he was some sort of king and because Din was useful to him he had become one of the ‘cool kids’ for the first time in his life. Boba had some sort of grudge against the Church that Luke’s parents attended (Church of the Sith Eternal or something like that). The other kids also picked on Leia because she was at the top of their class and Luke because he was gay. It didn't matter that Leia had garnered enough votes from the underclassmen to become the secretary of the Student Council. She wasn’t liked by Boba, so that meant the Juniors and Seniors had it out for her.

Din had tried to stay out of the politics. He had his Senior year and then he was done--he would be finished with school and aged out of the foster care system. Maybe he’d go community college (if by some miracle he could find the money) but most likely he’d end up in the military like his foster brother Paz. He had so many other problems to deal with, from helping out his loving but overworked foster mother to his uncertain future. But now as he looked at the horrible bruising on Luke’s face and the tears that still lingered in Leia’s eyes, he realized he was making a huge mistake. Distancing himself from the twins and taking refuge in his own popularity wasn’t right. Somebody had to stand up to the ridiculous bullies of Coruscant High. Starting with that slimy bitch Greedo.

“Easy, Romeo.” Din felt a pillow smack the side of his head and he looked up to see Leia shaking her head at him. “I can feel the bloodlust from here. Punching Greedo in the face isn’t gonna help Luke and you’ll only get yourself detention.”

“I’m fine!” Luke insisted as he gingerly put his ice pack back on his eye. They ignored him.

“He can’t keep getting away with this,” Din argued.

“I agree but we have to be smart about this. I’ve seen your GPA Djarin, I know you’re not a moron.”

Luke frowned. “How did you see his grades? Are you hacking into Principal Windu’s computer again?!””

Din tilted his head. “You have a plan.”

Leia adjusted her glasses again. “I have several plans, ranging in severity. Some of which hinge on you.”

Luke groaned. “Oh no.”

“Me?”

“Amilyn and I have a plan to take out the worst of Luke’s tormentors…” Leia hesitated for a moment before continuing, “but it depends on if you’re willing to come out of the closet or not.”

“What! NO!” Luke jerked up before Din could say a word. “You can’t Leia, he’s gonna go to the army next year! They won’t take him if he’s out!”

Leia nodded. “We don’t have to use that plan--”

“--I never said I was going to enlist for sure,” Din interrupted. “I’d like to hear all your plans first.”

Luke turned to him with wide eyes. “No! I’m not worth it!”

“Don’t say that!” Leia scoffed. “If anything, he’s not worth it.”

“Hey.” Din frowned.

“He’s about to graduate!” Luke said to his sister. “Why would we drag him down with us when he’s close to getting out of this hellhole!”

“Because you still have one more year and I can’t take this anymore.” Leia was crying now, slow tears dripping from the corners of her eyes. “Luke, please. Let me help.” She turned to Din. “I know you don’t really want to join the army, I heard you talking to Fennec last week. If you’re willing to work on this with me and Amy, I’ll see to it my mom hires you after you graduate.”

Din hesitated. A promise of a job after high school, something that paid more than Blockbuster, would be a real life changer for him. But there was a problem. “Wait. Will this plan of yours out Luke to your parents? I thought they’d be against it because of their religion.”

This made Leia snort. “Please, my dad is the worst Sith in the world and my mom is only in it for him. The bonus is that this plan would convince dad to finally leave that cult.”

Luke shook his head. “If Aunt Ahsoka and Ben weren’t enough to get dad to leave, why do you think he’d leave for me.”

Din tightened his grip on Luke’s hand. “Your dad loves you,” he said quietly. “I’ve seen how he interacts with you. I’ve always thought you weren’t giving Anakin enough credit.”

Leia nodded. “We’re almost in the new millenium, lots of people are out now,” she argued. “It's not like how it was when Aunt Ahsoka was outed.”

“I don’t know, this is a lot!” Luke moaned. But he allowed Din to tuck his head onto his chest and to wrap his arms around him. Din was happy to see Leia smile at them instead of reacting with any sort of disgust.

“Why don’t we just take this one step at a time,” Din suggested. “Can you call Amilyn over to talk about all these different plans?”

Leia nodded. She wiped her face with the back of her cardigan sleeve and took a deep breath. “I’ll page her. Will you stay for dinner? We’re ordering pizza. Our parents will be out all night.”

“I need to call home, but yeah, sure.” He wasn’t one to turn down free food.

“Coolio. I’ll brb!” Leia shot up from the couch. She walked over to her brother and gave him a soft kiss on the head. It meant that she had to lean close to Din and he could smell something sweet and floral in her carefully braided hair. “We’re gonna be ok, little brother.”

“I’m two minutes older,” Luke griped. But Din felt Luke relax in his arms.

As Leia left to use the phone in the kitchen, Din slowly loosened his grip around Luke, enough so he could look at his eye. “I thought I taught you to duck.”

“I did! The first time.” Luke flinched as Din carefully applied the ice pack to his face again. “I tried to go low like you said, but then Greedo got me with his knee.”

“That bastard fights dirty,” Din growled. He was going to have to create an ‘accident’ for Greedo in the hallway tomorrow. If he called in his favor to Boba, he might even get one of his lackeys to do it for him.

Din felt Luke’s fingers twist into his plaid shirt. “Let it go. Please. It’s not right if we stoop to his level. And you shouldn’t come out for me, it’ll just ruin your senior year.”

“Who cares about senior year? Why does everyone make such a big deal about it?! Best years of our lives--that’s depressing as shit.” Din raised his hand to Luke’s chin and gently cupped his face. “I’ve been a big fat coward, ok? This is wrong, Luke. There’s nothing wrong with us.”

Luke swallowed. “There’s a big difference between everyone thinking you’re a fag and being in an actual relationship. I don’t know if you or I are ready for that.”

Din knew what Luke meant. He didn’t know any gay couples. Just rumors of various people, like Luke’s aunt, that existed in their town. There was a significant part of him that was terrified of the consequences of Leia’s plan. Would he still be able to play Football? Would his teammates be afraid of him? What if Leia was wrong and Anakin forbid him from ever seeing Luke again?

But then again, Leia was also right. Luke had one year left and what would happen once he was gone and unable to divert the worst of Luke’s tormentors from jumping him in the hallways? It wasn’t fair to let the injustice in Coruscant stand. Not while he was still around to do something about it.

“I want to take you to Homecoming,” Din admitted. “I want to see you in a stupid rented tux and make out with you in front of Mr. Windu.” Luke giggled, then winced as it made his lip hurt. “And Han should be there with Leia so she can finally make him slow dance.” Din’s hands wandered into Luke’s hair as he dragged him closer.

“Han dances like a penguin,” Luke sighed. He slowly rested his forehead onto Din’s. “He’s got two left feet.”

“Even better.” Din carefully kissed the side of Luke’s mouth, careful to avoid his cut.

“Promise me you won’t do something stupid,” Luke pleaded. “We can wait until I graduate and then we can both leave this trash town.”

Instead of answering, Din pulled Luke into his arms and held him close. He looked up and saw Leia return to the living room. He locked eyes with her and nodded.

“I won’t let them hurt you anymore.”

Some rough sketches of my OC version of Sailor Moon for a Mass Effect AU. (Please admire my inconsistency with drawing faces. It’s a specialty of mine) She’s lived rent free in my head for years and is now trying to escape. Basically the idea in my head was that Prothean Mini Mass relay teleporter Saren uses is pushin it a little too close for comfort to the space/time corridor for Sailor Pluto so she’s like “yo SM, girl, take this space time key n go stop that dude.” She’s like yeah, cool, solo mission (she got *just* a touch of ptsd from watching her friends and bf get blasted by Galaxia which is explored in ME2 #angst). But anyway, that’s how we join the Normandy. Then in ME3 she helps gather the Sailor Guardians from across the galaxy as war assets (think sailors Thessia, Sur’Kesh, Tuchanka, Eden Prime, Feros, and *gasp* the Geth have been keeping a small colony of Quarians on Rannoch to preserve the Sailor Rannoch line??? *double gasp* Aria meant it literally when she said she was Omega???) Umm.. what else... the original Moon Kingdom was the same time as the prothys, Beryl and the whole uprising was indoctrination, then they got reaped by the reap peeps. The Sailor Starlights, refugees on earth hiding from galaxia disguised as humans were Asari, Taiki was turian because she was super tall.)

Should probs also mention alterations to this SM background, we skipped the 2nd SM arc with chibiusa and the time traveling to the 30th century. Darien/Mamoru was just a normal guy, this version we don’t need no rose throwin dude to speak in prose to motivate us beat the monster of the day, galaxia kilt him and unlike the other guardians he did not come back. So corny, right? But the scene in my head, the mutual pining, the drama... it’s okay, you don’t have to like it. There’s more terrible stuff in my head, don’t know if I’ll ever get around to doing something about it but I needed to let some of it out.

My Sworn Brothers [Luffy x Crossover!Sister!Reader x Ace x Sabo]

A/N: Hey, so I want to write a High School AU of the many, many anime I have watched/ read. Bleach, Blue Exorcist, Devil is a Part-Timer, Durarara, Fairy Tail, Fullmetal Alchemist, High School of the Dead, InuYasha, Kill La Kill, Magi, My Hero Academia, Noragami, One Piece, Ouran High School Host Club, Pokemon, Saiki K, Sailor Moon, Seven Deadly Sins, Soul Eater, Sword Art Online, Vampire Knight, Your Lie in April, and Yu Gi-Oh. And I was wondering who would you like to be apart of your friend? And would you like to have a relation to any of the characters of the world.

Summary: [Y/N] is the oldest sworn sister to Luffy, Ace, and Sabo. And after finding Ace and Sabo aboard Luffy’s ship, the Thousand Sunny, she explains to them who she is, her other sworn brothers and sisters, embarrasses the three of them (a regular Tuesday for her), and threatens them with a chalkboard for interrupting her. Multiple times. In this story, most of the anime I am into is in the same world (Bleach, Blue Exorcist, Fairy Tail, Fullmetal Alchemist, InuYasha, Magi, My Hero Academia, Naruto, Noragami, Seven Deadly Sins, and Sword Art Online. I might do a part 2.

Warnings: spoilers for the above mangas and animes, also, even though this is along the timeline of after the time skip (at some point), I took the creative liberty to have Ace alive during this meeting for a quad family reunion, might be language

“How the hell am I suppose to believe that my three idiotic brothers would be in the same place at the exact same time I’m trying to find them?” the girl with [H/C] hair, old enough to be Luffy’s age, maybe a year younger or a year older than him.

“[Y/N]!!” the rubber boy flung himself at her in a hug.

She fell down on her butt from the impact of the hug. She groaned before pushing the boy off of her and standing up, dusting herself off. “Geez, Lu. I was on a job, just finished, and I heard something about a Straw Hat, a Fire Fist, and a blonde with a top hat that put the mad hatter to shame. I just came to see if the rumors are true.”

“What job did you have, sis?” Sabo said as he sipped a smoothie created from Vinsmoke Sanji.

“Well, you see. In the ten years I’ve been gone, I’ve been busy. Both with being lazy and being diligent.” the girl explained. “I am a member of Fairy Tail. Dragon Slayer Magic, particularly fire, water, earth, air, and plant. Requip the Knight. Some space jumping there and vortex opening here.”

“You got the two mixed up, kid.” Ace said from his spot next to Sabo.

The girl grinned an evil grin. “Oh, did I, Ace of Clubs?”

The raven haired pirate groaned at the nickname while Luffy’s crew members wondered after the nickname. Ace kept giving her the don’t-tell-them-anything look with a cut-it-out motion. She, like most people she knew, did not listen to reason.

“Well, when we were younger, I attempted to teach the pour unfortunate souls that you call Luffy, Sabo, and Ace golf. And we played mini-gold. First hole we went to, the club flew out of Ace’s hand and crashed into the window where the pour lady working the club stand was clonked on the head and fell unconscious. Another fun fact: I’m overly competitive and therefore master of mini gold. Luffy on the other hand... beat my bowling high score of just a little over four hundred points.” [Y/N] explained.

“THAT’S NOT HOW YOU PLAY GOLF, YOU IDIOT!” Usopp shouted at his captain.

“Ace was a lot worse. However, on the eighteenth hole, got a hole in one. Although with team sports, I always sided with Luffy ‘cuz he was the baby of the family.” she explained.

“Never play Volleyball with her unless you’re Luffy.” Sabo warned the Straw Hat Pirates.

“Could you... possibly.... explain who you are?” asked Nami.

“That’s an easy and excellent question, m’lady. I am [Y/N] [L/N], the daughter of the Demon King from the Demon Clan, Niece of Solomon, adoptive daughter of the great dragon, The Curse of Depravity, a mage of S-Class ranking, the best older sister anyone can have, a Shinigami, and the Pirate Fairy.” [Y/N] said with her hands on her hips like wonder woman.

“You’re not wonder woman, dumbass.” Ace muttered.

She scowled at the boy (who was now physically older than her). “I know that, asshole.” Ace shrugged his shoulders at that. “Anyways, I should get going. I’m here with my teammates. And Salamander will have a cow if he finds out I’m on a Pirate Ship. Which may or may not include Natsu asking you all to fight him at once for his sister.” [Y/N] shrugged.

“SISTER?!” Luffy screeched.

“YOU ALREADY REPLACED US?!” Ace and Sabo said in unison.

“This is why I never took you to Amusement parks or sat next to you on a ride.” she clenched at her swollen ears. “No, I was merely saying that I have something called [Y/N]’s Council of Brothers. They’re basically a band of boys I feel need my protection, wisdom, and power to embarrass them until they’re six feet under and rotting.”

“She’s dark.” Nami said. “But can you explain this whole Council of Brothers thing. Because I’m not sure they,” the ginger pointed to the three brothers, “understand.”

“Alright! I will go over a lesson here!” and suddenly a white board appeared by her side with writing already on it.

“Where did you get the white board?” asked Luffy.

“That’s not important right now.” she scowled. “Yes, Sabo.”

“Was that Whiteboard always there and we just never noticed it?” the blonde asked.

“No. Ace if this is a question about the white board, I will smack you with the same gold club that flew through that window. All questions about the stupid whiteboard will be answered after I explained everything. Got it?”

The three brothers grumbled out a, “Yes.”

“Good. Anyways, to start it off I have two half-brothers. Meliodas and Zeldris.” she slapped a pointer stick against the whiteboard.

“Did she always have that?” Ace asked, whispering it to his two brothers.

“I don’t know. I’m just glad someone noticed it besides me.” Sabo murmured back.

“SILENCE, YOU INSOLENCE FOOLS!” and she threw a frying pan which hit Ace in the head.

Why does she have a frying pan in her requips? Sabo wondered in his head, not wanting to get hit in the head with anything else she might have to throw at them.

“Anyways, Meliodas and Zeldris are my half-brothers. Zeldris is the captain of the Demon Clan’s ten Commandments while Meliodas is the captain of Liones’s Seven Deadly Sins of which I am co-captain and the Phoenix Sin of Darkness. To be fair, I look more like my mother and I think the only thing me, Meliodas, and Zeldris share is our dumbassery we inherited from our father. Second off, my cousin is Magi Aladdin since my mother is his father, Solomon,’s sister. Now, that’s enough of my actual biological family. Now, I won’t go into detail about those three. Because you already seem well-acquainted with one another. Anyways, onto the next one. The next one on my list of brothers is a half-demon named Rin who is the son of Satan along with his younger brother, Yukio, but he doesn’t really need protection. next is Kazuto Kirigaya also known as Kirito. I prefer to call him that. He got stuck in a game where if you die there, you die in real life, but he defeated them. next, we have Satan himself, a king of demons, Sadou Maou. He works as a part-timer for a fast food chain which is sad to be honest. Next, we have Alibaba Saluja, a prince and a king’s candidate, also my cousin’s best friend. He wields the fire djinn, Amon. Also, he’s trying to be a gladiator while figuring out his feelings for Fanalis and former slave Morgiana. Next, we have actual God Yato who is a former god of calamity and a current god of war. I think. I’m not quite sure. But he and his two regalia, Yukine and a Nora named Kazuma, but also Kazune under Yato, must be protected by me at all cost. Then, we have Edward Elric, a alchemist missing both a leg and an arm because he wanted to see his mom’s smile again which kicks me in the heartstrings whenever I hear it. His brother, Alphonse, is an honorary member of the Council of Brothers. And he used to be entirely a soul attached to a suit of armor. No joke.”

“Does no one else notice that they are mostly raven haired or blonde?” Nico Robin commented.

The Straw Hat Pirates turned to the three sworn brothers who just shrugged their shoulders at that. “I admit I am guilty for that. But my actual brothers are raven headed and blonde, so that may be the reason. Anyways, off to the next people. Now, this person could make Luffy look like a genius. Sometimes. Natsu Dragneel, a salmon haired fire dragon slayer, is the brother of Zeref Dragneel, the black wizard, and also simultaneously END, the most powerful demon of the book of zeref which makes him one of the top fifteen most powerful demons. Next, we have strawberry boi, Ichigo Kurosaki, a shinigami who I’ve been helping train. He could see the dead and then he discovered his spiritual power, stole the shinigami powers of Rukia Kuchiki, and started to exorcist hollows and send souls to the soul society. Then, we have my favorite band of brothers since they could literally be in a band. Broccoli Boi, Izuku Midoriya, kinda has a power augmentation quirk, best way to describe it without giving too much away, Porcupine Katsuki Bakugo who can blow things up with help from his sweat. Zuko Wannabe Shoto Todoroki who can wield fire and ice. Also, his brother Touya may or may not be Dabi. Then, Pikachu Kaminari Denki who can utilize elctricity, but too much and he makes Luffy look like a genius. No joke. Well… maybe… I don’t really know. Anyways, then we have speedster Tenya Iida. Oh, there’s sharkboy Eijiro Kirishima. He can make himself go as hard as rock, but he has limitations. Then, we have spidertape Hanta Sero that can shoot tape out of his elbows. Then, half-demon InuYAsha who is the son of a dog demon and a mortal woman. There’s also Shippo who is an adorable little kitsune. And I think I got everyone.” the girl looked at her board before smacking it again as she noticed Luffy had begun to doze off while Ace had totally fallen asleep.

The action alerted the two boys to wake up at once and glare at their older sister. And then, a silver haired undead man with a flying blue cat landed on the floor of the ship. “Thank goodness we found you. C’mon. We got a mission and you and your ‘Team Natsu’ have a job request from the old man and a princess.”

“So Hisui and Bartra both agree to have us do something, but what is this so-called mission?” asked [Y/N].

Ban smirked. “We’re fighting slave-trading pirates.”

“I want in!” Luffy cheered.

Boogiepop phantom

ou ce qui a réveillé une passion en moi.

Bien sûr, avant d’être adolescent, j’aimais les dessins animés. Et il me semblait qu’il y avait comme une différence entre les dessins animés “normaux” et ce qui semblait se rapprocher des mangas. Cependant, des œuvres comme les Chevaliers du Zodiaque, Sailor Moon ou même Dragon Ball n’arrivait pas à capter mon intérêt. Certes, énormément de connaissances en parlait mais je ne me penchait pas personnellement sur le sujet.

Mais tout a changé la fois où je me suis retrouvé coincé chez mes grands parents en Argentine. Il y avait une chaîne télévisé qui ne diffusait que des animés. Et parmi eux un qui m’avait paru particulièrement étrange et peu digne d’intérêt : Boogiepop Phantom.

Certaines s��ries étaient diffusées à raison d’un épisode par jour, mais celle-ci avait une fréquence d’un épisode par semaine. Ce qui m’a tout de suite surpris c’était que chaque épisode semblait être centré autour d’un personnage différent, et que les liens entre chaque personnage n’avait rien d’évident. Il s’agissait en fait d’un véritable mystère qui n’était pas explicitement dévoilé. Il y avait pourtant une véritable intrigue qui reliait les différentes histoires révélés à chaque épisode. C’était aux spectateurs de trouver les différentes pièces du puzzle et de les rassembler en un tout cohérent. Un véritable travail de détective.

Dans ce billet je ne veux pas parler de l’intrigue dans son ensemble mais d’un épisode en particulier. Lors de la diffusion de cet animé en Argentine, un épisode semblait manquer : le deuxième. Pour certaines raisons, tous les autres épisodes étaient diffusés sauf celui là. Je n’ai franchement aucune idée du pourquoi ou du comment. Mais cet épisode est intéressant en soi.

Cet épisode se centre autour d’un garçon qui a soudain acquis une sorte de pouvoir. Il est capable de voir des araignées qui enserrent le cœur de certaines personnes. Au début il ne comprenait pas ce qu’il passait, mais il s’est vide rendu compte que c’était la matérialisation de la culpabilité de ces personnes. Une culpabilité qui ne cessait de les troubler. Son pouvoir lui permis de gagner la confiance de ces personnes et il tenta d’attraper l’araignée de la culpabilité.

Les personnes ainsi libérées semblaient être débarrassées d’un lourd fardeau. Et lui de son côté pouvait manger l’araignée.

Il se voyait comme une sorte de héros de l’ombre, rendant la vie meilleure pour d’autres. Mais petit à petit, ces araignées de culpabilité lui firent l’effet d’une drogue. Il était complètement accro. Ce n’était qu’une légère gène. Il n’allait pas s’arrêter de trifouiller le cœur pour autant (oui il y a aussi un certain implicite vu que la plupart des personnes qui se sentent coupable sont des femmes et je vous laisse deviner où se situe le cœur).

Un jour il se rendit compte qu’une camarade de classe avait triché à un contrôle. Il comprit vite qu’elle n’arrêtait pas de penser à ce qu’elle avait fait. En bon samaritain, il voulu lui ôter ce poids de son cœur. Et elle pu reprendre sa vie avec plus de légèreté. Mais voilà le problème, la culpabilité n’est pas isolée du reste des souvenirs. Quelque jours plus tard, cette même camarade recommença à tricher et se sentit à nouveau coupable. Il ne dévorait pas la culpabilité mais les souvenirs liées à celle-ci.

Et pire encore, à la fin de l’épisode est dévoilé que tout son corps se retrouve recouvert de ces araignées. Autrement dit, il porte sur lui la culpabilité de toutes les personnes qu’il avait cru aider.

Ce n’est qu’un exemple d’un épisode. Il est question assez souvent de problème psychologiques. Les personnages de fiction n’ont pas forcément besoin d’une psychologie réaliste, mais cette série fait le choix d’explorer la psychologie des personnages par des phénomènes surnaturels.

Si vous avez lu jusque là, j’espère que je vous aurai convaincu d’au moins jeter un coup d’œil à cette série. Sachez que Boogiepop Phantom est basé sur une série de light novels (d’ailleurs c’est l’auteur, Kouhei Kadono, qui a inventé le format des light novels) mais ne suit pas vraiment son histoire. C’est en quelque sorte un spin off. Il n’y pas si longtemps un nouvel anime a adapté de façon un peu plus fidèle les light novel - Boogiepop and others (ou Boogiepop wa warawanai). Ce nouvel anime est disponible sur Wakanim (mais pas dans sa formule gratuite malheureusement).

Le premier anime, Boogiepop Phantom, est plus difficile à obtenir mais il avait été licencié par Dybex qui distribuait au format DVD.

1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?

Ten or eleven, when I first figured out it was a Thing. (Somewhere, buried in my boxes of Old Papers, there is baby!shadowsong’s attempt at writing something involving Padme turning up at Yavin but with the serial numbers very badly filed off, before I learned it was possible to just...write fanfic, lol.

5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?

Oh, Lord, why must you do this to me. XD

I mean, I like all of them for different reasons? Writing Precipice is almost like coming home, I’ve been living in that AU for so long; The Devoted was delightfully self-indulgent and a fun exercise in worldbuilding and I do plan to put more in that AU at some point, I swear; These Three Remain also had some super self-indulgent bits and some sweet cuddly fluffy bits and yep; Distaff is so much fun to work with Anakin’s characterization and her (in said fic) relationship with Padme; I have some WIPs that I’m super excited to get out...even going back to old fandoms, HoTM and Cartography!Verse and The Promises of Angels and Serenissima (ish; we were posting it as a series of vignettes rather than one long novel) and For Sorrow Sung and all my AtLA fic, and...

...yeah, I’m bad at picking favorites XD

11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it?

Not really? I’ve added extra notes and when I was a baby in the LOTR fandom I actually took a fic down because I got pounced on by a Canon Purist, but I...don’t usually change what I do have planned out in response to criticism? Sometimes I add in some filler/explanation, or comments inspire me to add thing, but...

I don’t plan things out in a whole lot of detail, but I do usually have a few Major Plot Points worked out, and I tend not to change them because criticism. I usually don’t go back and edit, either.

14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories.

18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?

Yep, a few. Mostly, I abandon WIPs because I drifted away or otherwise left the fandom (i.e., most of my SPN fic), or otherwise got stuck on a plot point (For Sorrow Sung, which I might rewrite, I got stuck on because I wasn’t sure how to write Roslin; Distaff has stalled because I have to do a Monster chapter next because I did some things out of order; etc., though I actually do intend to get back to Distaff at some point, and am considering rewriting For Sorrow Sung or getting back to some of my other BSG fic...). ...on that note, there are several Stalled WIPs that I don’t consider abandoned, I just get sidetracked by other things even if I intend to get back to them At Some Point (Auxiliaries, Masks, a few others.)

Also, a bunch of miscellaneous self-indulgent things that I never really intended to share outside a small circle of friends that I wander away from when my attention gets caught by a similar shiny self-indulgent thing I don’t really intend to share outside a small circle of friends...

27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow?

Moooostly go with the flow. Then again, I don’t formally outline most things, but I generally have an Idea of the Main Plot Points I’m working towards? But those are usually Super Major Things (i.e., with Precipice, when I was going into it, I had most of Arc 1 planned out ahead of time; I knew when and how Lavinia was going to be introduced; I knew most of how Rex got brought in and at least when Ahsoka came in; I knew Ahsoka was going to be Leia’s primary teacher; I knew when and how Specter was going to die; I knew that the reunion (and the attempt to kidnap Lavinia) were going to happen (though actually I was originally planning for Saw to be behind said kidnapping before realizing that didn’t make sense); I knew when Infernalis was going to be introduced and then die; and then some Spoilery Stuff for the next several arcs :)

So, yeah. I usually have a general notion of where things are going (...most of the time; I mentioned Distaff above, and I’m waffling on how I want things to end for that one...) but a loooooot of white space and things are in flux along the way.

33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten?

Honestly, probably the one I kept in my inbox to reread the most often was on The Promises of Angels--I got a very long comment about the things I’d done with both the focal character and other side characters and the way I’d handled the established lore (and places where canon had fallen short, re: ex-vessels and so on), and then saying they were going to rec it to other people. I’ve gotten other very nice comments since then, (Precipice gets a lot of comments, some of which are lovely, some of which are infuriating), but I think the reason that one sticks with me is because I worked on that fic for so long, and it was a 100k gen epic about a tertiary character who (at the time) had been dead for five seasons. So, a very niche-appeal fic, especially in a fandom that tends to be very shipping-focused, so the fact that it had that much appeal outside of my own brain meant a lot.

(Also, just...the fact that so many people have read and liked Precipice means a whole lot to me????? Was not expecting that for a long wandering genfic epic, lol. ...again, because the fandom I was most active in prior to that is very ship-focused; Star Wars tends to be more gen-friendly, at least that’s been my experience thus far.)

34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?

Maybe not the harshest overall I’ve ever gotten, but I mentioned earlier that I took down one LOTR fic because a Canon Purist complained about it to me--I mean, it might not have actually been that mean if I were to get it now that I have a thicker skin, but I was Little Shadowsong at that point and it hurt enough for me to take the fic down, and it does kind of linger in the back of my mind as my Worst Comment Experience.

38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.

...to be honest, I don’t do a lot of collaborations overall, and most of the ones I do tend to be with people I’ve been friends with/RP’d with for a Long Time.

That being said, I’m possibly open to trying? Right now I have a lot on my plate, both fic and IRL wise, over the next couple months, but if anyone’s interested, hit me up and we’ll see if we can work together!

41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written?

In Star Wars? Probably Bo-Katan. I really do wanna finish/start posting our faces like a mirror before the Mandalore Arc actually airs (not that I care about jossing so much, but it’d be nice to Officially lock my canon there so I can point to it if anyone does the whole ‘but canon says!’ thing at me, lol). Also, I love writing Beru, at least the way I write her in Precipice.

If we expand to other fandoms...Nick in SPN, at least before canon brought him back wrong; for BSG...well, most of the ‘minor’ characters I like are really secondary and/or Major in one arc or two--i.e., D’Anna, Gaeta, Ellen Tigh is a lot of fun; in AtLA, I personally mostly wrote major characters and OCs (though some of those were...people who had definitely Existed, but were not named or explored in canon--i.e., Lu Ten’s mother), but my primary RP/writing partner and I worked a lot with Haru and Song and Teo and the Dai Li, among others...but said partner mostly handled them.

44) What is the last line you wrote?

“True,” Sabe said. “...are you sure you’re ready for this?”

“No,” Padme admitted, after a moment’s thought. “But I think if I wait much longer, I’ll...I’ll either start climbing the walls until I run out and do something righteous and half-planned and stupid, or I’ll...or I’ll never be able to figure how to start, and I’ll just...”

49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about?

I cannot, sadly. But it would’ve been 15-20 years ago, and probably either Star Wars or Harry Potter. Maybe Dragonlance or DBZ or Sailor Moon.

In the age reversal au you meantion a couple different prince and princesses, whats the royal family tree look like for this au?

Jiren is an OC I invented for my Continuation Verse as the comics’ supervillain Azula done right. As a deconstruction of the fanon/comics Azula she serves the role of being one of Azula’s foils down to incorporating a common AO3 trope with Ozai and Azula.

She is the direct line descendant in all AUs of Princess Sakura, daughter of Sozin’s second sister, who goes by a couple of different names. Her husband is a rather unpleasant fellow named Akira of a local royal line from one of the 29 islands.

Azulon had a sister and three brothers and killed the brothers Ottoman style while allowing his sister to live. She had a child by duty with one Master Piandao who went back to his preferred life and left Princess Usaki, the Grey Eminence who oversees most of the day to day government of the Fire Nation with massive amounts of daddy issues and being a flexible and amoral bureaucrat….who is based on the character Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon in design, at least. Her mother was Princess Wa, which literally translates to Serenity. So Princess Moon daughter of Princess Serenity.

Iroh’s wife also is a named character who’s a Fire Sage and seer who can see the future by Fire-sight. Her name is Hino and she’s based on Sailor Mars, because a Fire Nation Aunt Wu is a tempting character.

Lu Ten had a girlfriend and fiancée named Naru and a boyfriend named Kenpachiro. I write Azula as lesbian and Lu Ten is bi.

In all my AUs prior to Azulon from the time of Zoryu the Fire Nation opted for an Ottoman approach to succession. Anyone seeming to threaten the Fire Lord was murdered, the non threatening are insurance in case something happens to the Royal Family. Azulon broke this tradition with Ozai and Iroh, meaning traditionalists could easily blame the Fire Nation’s misfortunes on Azulon being too sentimental. They would be wrong but….

- Problem. No idea which one in particular you mean. There's a few you know of. My still unnamed Ninjago Fic that I may end up just using the OCs of to make a story all its own; Astronomical Magic, the Fairy Tail Fic; and I think I've talked about a couple others to you as well.

Also no fic is done development yet, sooo...

12. Who is your favorite author?

In Real Life- Rick Riordan. Percy Jackson books were my life- but Marissa Meyer and Marie Lu are also queen. Favorite Fanfic Writer at the moment is either TheRealNarnia, SailorSilverLadybug, Inadee, or Anickov on AO3. GaurdianDragon98 on Fanfiction.net is pretty great too.

13. When did you start writing fanfic?

with intent to post- last year. Unknowing of what it was called- since I was I think 12? So, 6, almost 7 years.

21. Is there an idea you’ve always wanted to write, but haven’t yet?

Honey my notes have 1,500 fanfic ideas and only maybe half of those belong to any sort of actual story idea. And thats not even including my Docs. I have so many ideas I dont know if I could fully flesh them all out even if food, money, school, job hunting, and sleep weren't problems.

36. What fanfic of yours has the symbolism you’re proudest of?

Any Nalu Fic ever. The Dragon and the Princess, the Fallen Star and the Demon, the Best Friends to Lovers, that ship is ripe with so much love based symbolism- from the greedy and protective rage Natsu exhibits to willful and neverending forgiveness that makes up Lucy- they're just *chef's kiss*.

37. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?

Absolutely, I'm actually co-writting two fics with one of my irl friends, a very big Crossover called The Deal to Save Worlds (FMAB, Miraculous Ladybug, Danny Phantom, Soul Eater, Winx Club, Sailor Moon, and Seven Deadly Sins) as well as a Miraculous Ladybug AU featuring a butt ton of OCs.

38. What story of yours are you surprised that people liked as much as they did?

Astronomical Magic, despite only having two chapters so far (I'm working on them- i have no time, college is consuming my soul but I'm trying)

39. What area of writing do you feel strongest in? Dialogue between characters i know well or have enough freedom with, and plot outlines are definitely my strong suit. As well as describing settings. (Greatest difficulties are definitely in balance and actually progressing the story.)

Nous referons peut-être un point plus général sur le lolita, en attendant le sujet est traité dans tous les sens et tous les formats un peu partout. Le sailor lolita, qu’est-ce que c’est?

C’est tout simplement du lolita qui incorpore des éléments issus de l’esthétique de la navigation et des marins (sailor en anglais). Voilà c’est tout pour moi merci d’avoir lu et à bientôt.

Commençons par le commencement:

Pourquoi le sailor lolita?

Ce n’est qu’une hypothèse personnelle, mais il n’aura échappé à personne que l’uniforme marin et surtout son col iconique est très populaire au Japon, de par son adaptation en uniforme scolaire (sailor fuku, seifuku). Il est devenu un symbole de jeunesse et d’innocence appuyé par l’utilisation en masse dans la pop culture, notamment dans les manga et animes qui mettent souvent en scène des personnages encore scolarisés.

J’ai lutté pour ne pas mettre une image de Sailor Moon. Il est porté même en dehors de l’école, et peut être à la fois source de fierté (sentiment d’appartenance, car chaque école à un uniforme différent), costume de scène ou simple déguisement et -malheureusement- source de fantasmes plus ou moins avouables.

Video: Sailor Fuku wo Nugasanaide par Onyanko Club, 1985, qui compile tout le côté mignon et ambigu de l’uniforme scolaire, repris par AKB48 plus récemment.

Fun fact: le sailor fuku fut aussi porté dans d’autres modes, comme par exemple les Kogals (sous-style Gyaru, à gauche), avec des jupes raccourcies et chaussettes démesurées, customisation très moyennement appréciée par les écoles. A l’inverse, les sukeban (membres de gangs féminins, à droite) portaient les jupes très longues.

Mais je m’égare.

De nos jours ce style d’uniforme tend à disparaître pour quelque chose de plus moderne, un peu comme les uniformes anglais.

Mais au fait, comment en est-on arrivé à porter des costumes de marins dans les écoles japonaises?

La réponse est assez simple finalement: La modernisation et l’occidentalisation du Japon après la première Guerre Mondiale. Au début du XXe siècle en Europe, le costume marin était très populaire pour les enfants riches. Pourquoi? Parce que c’est mignon, eh. Non, et oui: en 1846, la reine Victoria fit confectionner pour son fils, le prince de Galles, âgé de 4 ans, une version miniature de l’uniforme réglementaire de la marine anglaise. L’uniforme fut porté, gravures et portraits furent créés (image de gauche). Plus efficace qu’un influenceur le jeune prince lança malgré lui la tendance: à la fin du XIXe siècle, on voyait des costumes marins partout, et ça se fait encore de nos jours.

Le vêtement étant populaire et relativement facile à coudre, il fut adopté par quelques écoles de filles japonaises en 1920 qui laissèrent tomber le kimono et le hakama que les élèves portaient jusqu’alors, sur l’initiative d’une principale ayant étudié au Royaume Uni (Elizabeth Lee, de l’université Fukuoka Jo Gakuin) La version masculine de l’uniforme scolaire est quant à elle basé sur la veste de l’armée de Prusse.

D’où vient le fameux col?

J’étais curieuse alors j’ai cherché.

Certains affirment qu’il était détachable et servait en premier lieu à protéger la chemise blanche de la saleté, notamment des cheveux longs que les marins enduisaient de substances diverses et variées. Il s’agit d’une légende.

Quand l’uniforme avec le col tel que nous le connaissons a commencé à se généraliser dans les années 1820-1850, les marins portaient déjà les cheveux courts par mesure d’hygiène (depuis environ 1800).

Avant ça, il n’y avait pas d’uniforme, les marins portaient des chemises simples. Le col a été agrandi graduellement au cours des années permettant d’évacuer la chaleur et la transpiration quand on l’ouvre en grand.

La partie arrière sert à protéger les épaules et le dos des éléments (vent, pluie, soleil...)

Le foulard de soie noué autour sert à la fois à tenir le col fermé, à la fois de chiffon, et peut aussi être utilisé autour du cou pour se protéger du froid et absorber la transpiration.

De nos jours les bateaux sont plus confortables et cet uniforme est toujours d’actualité surtout pour l’apparat et la tradition.

Revenons à nos lolitas

Il est de notoriété publique que l’époque victorienne est l’une des inspirations de la mode lolita, il est tout à fait possible que les multiples photos d’enfants victoriens en costume aient contribué à amener le thème marin dans le lolita mais j’en doute. En revanche le traditionnel uniforme d’école et la pop culture y sont surement pour beaucoup. Je ne peux pas l’affirmer avec certitude, je n’ai pas trouvé de sources quant aux débuts du sailor lolita...

Concrètement, ça ressemble à quoi?

C’est peut être par là que l’article aurait dû commencer, mais il n’y a pas tant de choses à dire...

La silhouette peut être aussi diversifiée que dans tous les sous-styles lolita: OP (robe) complète, JSK+blouse, blouse+jupe, à la taille classique, babydoll, empire...

Les couleurs sont pratiquement toujours le bleu marine et le blanc, parfois noir ou gris, avec des touches de rouge. Mais concrètement toutes les couleurs peuvent être utilisée, y compris les pastels et les palettes plus naturelles de beige et marron.

La tenue comporte pratiquement toujours le fameux col en V, celui-ci peut cependant prendre des formes différentes: parfois pointu, carré, arrondi, parfois remplacé par un col bateau. Il comporte souvent des lignes et parfois de la dentelle, rappelées sur la jupe.

Il peut être agrémenté d’un foulard, d’un nœud ou d’un ruban.

On y retrouve aussi d’autres éléments qui font référence au monde de la marine: _ bérets, casquettes voire chapeaux de paille, _ marinières et rayures _ motifs, broderies ou ornements avec ancres, boussoles, roues, cordes, blasons et drapeaux, bateaux/phares... _ Mais aussi des motifs relatifs à la mer: poissons et coquillages, sirènes etc.

Le style est très facilement adaptable en Ouji, il suffit de remplacer la jupe par un short! On voit souvent des bretelles de chaussettes et parfois un côté un peu plus militaire, rappelant un peu Ciel dans Black Butler ou Donald dans Kingdom Hearts

Le sailor lolita peut être facilement mélangé avec d’autres styles et thèmes pour donner une ambiance différente à la tenue. On va avoir deux axes: le côté scolaire/étudiant et le côté mer et navigation. Par exemple:

Uchuu Kei: certaines collection de Angelic Pretty par exemple, s’y prêtent très bien, comme Cosmic ou Dreamy Planetarium

Mahou Kei et éléments magical girl pour un look à la Sailor Moon ou école de sorcellerie

Sirène: evidemment!

Pin up: Les lolitas peuvent avoir une relation conflictuelle avec le pin up, mais le fait est qu’adapté correctement ça peut donner des choses très intéressantes! Les thèmes marins sont très populaires dans la mode rockabilly.

Pour conclure

Le sailor lolita est un style assez ancien mais facilement adaptable pour suivre les évolutions et les mélanges. Il a des règles qui semblent assez rigides mais finalement on peut en faire pas mal de choses et s’amuser.

De plus on peut trouver des vêtements qui conviennent à prix très abordable et il est facile de se lancer dans une coordination conventionnelle sans trop de risque.

Le sailor lolita convient aux néophytes comme aux plus expérimentés. Ca vaut vraiment le coup de se laisser tenter.
