Metrolink in SoCal tips

I was wondering if anyone had routes or train trip itineraries to share for taking the metro around Southern California, specifically the regions below.

- Inland Empire

- Orange County

- LA County

I like to plan train outings for my friends and family, and was hoping to be recommended any interesting stops known to be off the metro or close to a metro line.

How are things holding up for you this morning??

Hello, thanks for checking in dude, you're really sweet. So, we're having light showers at the moment. Roads are good. Driving is good. Nothing scary is happening yet but I'm assuming it's going to get bad around 2:30/3 PM. It's 9 right now.

I got food and water for my mom and I. Charged everything. Put all the important paperwork in one filing box so I think we're good? The only thing I'm concerned about is the lack of batteries for my flashlight so I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

But everything is good so far. The showers right now are less than the shit show that was the beginning of this year.

Rightful Owners of Bruce's Beach Finally Get the Official Deed 98 Years Later

[July 20, 2022] In a celebratory and historic ceremony, Bruce's Beach, an oceanfront property was formally returned to the descendants of a Black couple in Southern California on Wednesday, nearly a century after being wrongfully stripped of the land.

The great-great grandson of the original land owners, Willa and Charles Bruce, was presented by the LA County Registrar-Recorder with an official deed marking the transfer of land.

Anthony Bruce smiled and held the document above his head as the crowd cheered and oceans waves crashed in the background.

The event is the final step in transferring Bruce's Beach from Los Angeles County back into the hands of the family heirs.

Known as Bruce's Beach, the resort had offered Black families a place to enjoy the California life and was a labor of love for the couple. They purchased the land in 1912 for $1,225 and built several facilities, including a cafe and changing rooms.

But harassment from White neighbors and the Ku Klux Klan tore away at their dreams.

The final blow came in 1924 when the city took the property through eminent domain and paid the couple a fraction of what they asked for. The city wanted the land for a park.

The property — now estimated to be worth $20 million -- was transferred to Los Angeles County in 1995. The houses directly next to the property have price tags of around $7 million each. Read the full article here.

Gabriel Fernandez case:

I can’t believe his own mother and step father murdered their 8 year old son. I cannot get my head around it. The whole case was brutal and so scary to listen and see how this young 8 year old boy suffered the abuse for months. The police failed him. The four DCSF workers failed him. He was tortured, bruised up, cigarette burned on his body. I can’t believe this little boy was fighting for his life for months. Now he’s dead.

How can they let this happened??

I know it happened years ago, but it still haunts me. Both parents deserve no mercy. Both parents should have the death penalty. Thats my opinion.
