So, I'm now going by the canon that, in my main nms save, my in base scientist, Mez and I are married illegally

Why?

It started with my friend jokingly responding to this

saying something like "maybe it's a sex thimg"

And then immediately after, Mez teaches me how to make lubricant. They also start saying they'll clean my windows and such (housespouse?), and then because of their close contact with me, the robot hivemind cut them out (cut out by their species for illegal marriage)

So, now I'm married to a nb (maybe? Can a robot be nb, since they are 1s and 0s? Ba dum tsss) robot scientist seemingly with seperation trauma

thinking about Korvax pirates. Nest has a few of them (oh that atrocity unfinished WIP that is Nest) and it's made me think about how big of a choice (if it was a choice) it would be for a Korvax to become a pirate. maybe i don't know enough about game lore, but it would probably mean disconnection, at least in part, from the convergence - that means giving up the chance of going to the echoes, and losing the connections that have been with you all your life. it means putting a target on your back - yes, you do that by becoming a pirate anyway, but this one is personal. you give up everything you've known.

and for what? violence? units? not always. perhaps Korvax pirates are looking for more than that. maybe it's the freedom of being a pirate - the ability to do as you like without thousands of eyes looking over your shoulders. or maybe they enjoy the thrill of independence and mortality. maybe they rejoice in being able to claim their life as completely their own.

idk it's just interesting to think about

What is the UFIPA?

The UFIPA - or, United Federation of Interstellar and Planetary Anomalies - is a player civilisation in the sci-fi exploration game No Man’s Sky.

We seek to gather a group of Travellers who share our interest in exploration, documentation and Sentinel Hunting to help build a community that will, hopefully, one day reach Hub status.

Though the wiki states a particular set of motives, our civ is governed mainly by our citizens, and we hope to deviate from our original incentive to something that our community as a whole has shaped and tailored to fit the needs of everyone within it.
