Ok but the feeling of getting into something and then realizing that it’s… not quite your dream is relatable. Especially if you got to where you are by doing work that’s technically “better” and moving up the figurative ladder, only to realize that it’s not exactly what you enjoy. I really appreciated how grandma reacted to Sarang when she confessed this, and honestly think I needed to hear that too.

I absolutely loved the finale. I laughed and I cried... but I do have some notes.

I think it would've been better had we seen the process of her working on the B&B with the final beat being she's about to open, instead of fast-forwarding through a month of her successful business. Then, the night she opens, Won proposes to her. That feels like a cleaner way of telling the story, if that makes sense. It would've made more sense if the future of her B&B was uncertain and open-ended, given the themes of the story.

Like her grandmother said, she ought to live her life and if one falls, one can climb back up. Having Pyeong-hwa mention the business has been successful, felt a tad lacklustre.

Speaking of, Pyeong-hwa and Ro-un had a lovely, cute love story, but the sudden shift in tone of them visiting his mother's grave was a lot. Between all the sweet sentimentality, it was a punch in the gut. I liked it, but I think it would've worked better in the penultimate episode. (Which also means they could've gotten together quicker, but I digress.)

Da-eul's story was about becoming the boss that she is in her private and professional life, but I do still wonder if she really won by having her husband temporarily take on the housework. Until the very end, we didn't see a change in him, so we're not sure whether he and Da-eul can make it work in the future.

But other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The chairman's eventual acceptance of Sa-rang, Hwa-ran finally choosing love in the shape of her son, all the cute Sa-rang and Won moments, Won's mother meeting Ji-hu, the Wedding™, and the epilogue which was Completely Fan Service And I Live For It.

Without having watched Adventure Time?

Or maybe you watched up to like season 3 when you were twelve, or caught a few episodes while high in college. Regardless, you've seen images of that wet meow meow old man or the the cute sword chick or the gay vamp/sugar queen pair and you're curious. You want in, and you don't wanna slog through 10 seasons of TV first.

Absolutely valid. That said, I do think that Fionna and Cake is… nearly impenetrable if you don't have at least some grounding in the original series.

So here you go: a curated list of 19 episodes to get you more-or-less up to speed. Most AT eps are only 11 min long so it shouldn't take long to get through! And while you'll definitely still be confused about some elements in the series, i think sitting there going 'huh, wha?' is an important part of the Adventure Time experience.

how to watch Dominion SMP!

what's Dominion?:

Dominion SMP is a lightly modded, multi-POV lore series focused around the Origins mod! run by Legundo, who you might know for 100 Days Multiverse, most of the Dominion cast have long-running hardcore worlds and a good amount of overlap with the Deceit SMP. there's a focus on storytelling and characters first and foremost, with everyone's origin being the foundation for who they are and what they do.

i've seen it described as "Empires SMP but with origins" thanks to the entertaining characters, the frankly stunning builds, and everybody having their own storyline that intersects with others to create an engaging story. there's faction power struggles, there's musical numbers in Fixxitt's POV, there's attempted regicide, Legundo uses dark magic to commit a war crime as a comedy moment, there's possession, Sneve's made of butter... all around it's a fun time.

what's the story?:

to sum up the backstory: the land of Dominion was under threat from powerful entities and invasion from other dimensions, and so the king set out to put an end to it by slaying the dragon. he failed, died, and with the throne vacant several new players enter the scene with goals, schemes, and ideals. some want to start a business empire, some are undergoing a rite of passage, some are trying to find their lost memories, and some are just trying to find a new home.

and then a thief's crimes spiral out of control. and then something sealed in the End escapes. and then people start getting possessed. and then people start giving out IOUs they really shouldn't. and then there's an exorcism, the blood moon, and the end of the world.
