Opinions on Geoff Johns’ Connor Kent-Superboy?

Making Conner into a Superman/Lex test tube creation was brilliant, and I remain convinced that retcon is what's kept Conner from disappearing like the other 90s/00s era Superfamily members have. Conner becoming more serious and angsty makes sense as part of him growing up, especially given the events that happened towards the end of PAD YJ and Johns TT, but Johns should have ultimately given Conner back some of his cockiness. And I liked the Conner/Cassie relationship, which technically started with PAD, but Johns gave it a lot of focus.

Major gripes I have are swapping a costume for the t-shirt and jeans, and sending Conner to Smallville. I love the t-shirt and jeans look for Clark during his first year as he starts to create the concept of the superhero, but I've never loved it for Conner. Feels like a remnant of the 00s embarrassment over superheroes, and trying to make them more "realistic" and adaptable. Conner's 90s outfit is also dated and he needs a new one to mark this new era in his life. Can keep the jacket since the rest of the Superfamily have adopted that too for their team uniforms, but let's give him a redesign.

For Smallville I just hate the idea of the Superfamily members cribbing from Clark. Kara and Kon wearing glasses and having secret identities, getting raised by the Kents or by human adopted parents, working as journalists? Totally opposed to all of that. Despite Johns and Lemire telling good stories with that setup, only way it could really end is how Bendis handled it: Conner realizes he's not Clark and he doesn't want Clark's life, and then leaves.

Danny Chase????? I didn’t think anyone else knew about him

#I’m just wow that was sure a surprise and also he’s dead now. That’s sad #Dick was kinda just there this arc but we got Conner hallucinating him and we got the story of the picture. That part was so much fun and #Conner being like he’s lying is also fun because he knew his friend’s nature was that of a liar also M’gann knows!!! She knows about Conner #I’m excited for their reunion and Clark was so funny in it. He was like hey I’m lying and Jeff was like not this shit again. Jeff has had #To deal with too many liars I’m afraid and also Phantom Girl blinding trusting that it was Cham Irma and Bart well that was obviously a tra #Also we did not see enough trauma for the tagline which I do have to say was very funny #I also loved the team working together and the mind link. So much fun and that ending sure was something #Young Justice #YJ spoilers #YJ Dick’s arc

DC Comics Announces “G’nort’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition”

DC Comics has announced a Swimsuit Edition hosted by Space Sector 68′s Green Lantern G’nort. G’nort’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition will contain 48 pages of art by Amanda Conner, Paul Pelletier, Nicola Scott, Mikel Janín, Jeff Dékal, Daniel Sampere, Gleb Melnikov, Derrick Chew, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Emanuela Lupacchino, Joëlle Jones, Megan Huang, Terry Dodson, Babs Tarr, Pete Woods, Joe Quinones, Hélène Lenoble, Otto Schmidt, Michael Allred, Sweeney Boo, David Talaski, Jenny Frison, and more. Each issue will also include one of three potential centerfolds to be announced at a later date.

The edition will also include stories, like “Steve Orlando and Paul Pelletier’s Midnighter and Apollo story, "Out There," from _DC Cybernetic Summer, _a new 8-page story featuring The Penguin—clad in the tightest bathing trunks you can imagine—by Julie Benson and Shawna Benson drawn by Meghan Hetrick, and more.” (DC Comics)

I'm suprised this actually came out pretty good.. but yeah... some father and son bonding time we were robbed of.. think of this as a War of the Supermen Alternate Ending.. the Good Ending where Chris & Thara survive

The battle ended with Chris and Clark single handedly flying Zod into the source wall.. not the phantom zone as they did before.. the other kryptonian criminals are taken captive by OA and are held in a solar system with a Red Sun.. the kryptonians left on New Krypton who did not side with Zod were given a home on the planet Rokyn.. Chris' Nightwing powers are new.. and he is learning new things about them and himself everyday.. after a long day of war, turmoil... Chris and Clark catch up on lost time.. he has matured so much from this.. and Clark sees in him the potential to be a great hero.. and although zod, ursa and non are gone.. many of his followers are still on Earth Clark offers Chris to join the Supermen of America where he gladly accepts, Lucy is ridden of her powers with Sam Lane dead Lois comes to give her comfort, Mon-El.. after years of suffering from lead poisoning and being bound to the phantom zone.. is free.. free to go and do as he pleases.. Chris meets Conner... Thara and Kara reconnect and they quickly bond... in the shadows.. a new mysterious threat is lurking in the shadows.. ready to strike.. who it is we dont know.. that is for you to decide...

I’m really bored in class, and I said forever ago I might do this. So, here’s DC characters and my hcs for them (ethnicity, gender, sexuality, etc).

Bruce Wayne: Half-Jewish (mothers’ side, see Kane family). Pansexual. He/Him.

Dick Grayson: Romani. Bisexual. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them.

Jason Todd: Hispanic from his mother’s side (Sheila and Catherine). Unlabeled, but dates any gender. He/They.

Tim Drake: Wasian, Chinese from his mother’s side. Bisexual, leans towards men. He/They.

Duke Thomas: Half African American, Half whatever his dad (Gnomon) is. Demi bisexual. He/Him.

Damian Wayne: Jewish and Caucasian from Bruce’s side, Mixed Arabic and Chinese from Talia. Unlabeled, just likes whoever. He/Him.

Clark Kent: Kryptonian, though raised American. Bisexual. He/They/Ze. Though is open to most masculine or genderless pronouns, as krypton has a different expression of gender (this is a headcanon of mine)

Conner Kent/Kon-El: Kryptonian from Clark, has some German and American from Luthor. Homosexual. Genderfluid. He/Him or any masculine or genderless pronouns.

Jonathan “Jon” Kent: Kryptonian from Clark, some Latino and Caucasian from Lois. Unlabeled, just likes whoever. He/They.

Barry Allen: Might be Jewish (has described himself as an attractive Jewish boy). Bisexual. He/Him.

Wally West: Caucasian, American. Pansexual. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them.

Bart Allen: Caucasian, American. Omnisexual, but leaning towards men. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them or Xe/Xem.

Hal Jordan: Half-Jewish (mothers’ side) though raised catholic (fathers’ side). Unlabeled, just likes whoever. He/They/Xe, is fine with any masculine or genderless pronouns, as many alien languages don’t have multiple pronouns.

Guy Gardner: Caucasian American for the most part, but is a descendant of the space-traveling Vuldarians, so he’s part Alien. Queer. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them or many other pronouns used by alien species.

Oliver Queen: Caucasian, American. Pansexual. He/Him but is fine with They/Them.

Roy Harper: Caucasian, but adopted by and raised Navajo. Unlabeled, just likes whoever he likes. He/Him.

Michael Jon Carter (Booster Gold): Half-Jewish, through his Levin ancestors. (Confirmed by Jeff Katz). Omnisexual. Genderqueer. He/She/They, any pronouns, though used He/Him for the most part since its easier for others.

Ted Kord (Blue Beetle): Might be Jewish (Again from Jeff Katz). Demi Bisexual. He/Him, but is fine with They/Them.
