Descendants Fan Cast

I’m not recasting anyone from canon, just live action casting for Wicked World & Isle Of The Lost characters! If I’ve forgotten anyone, or if there’s any interest in parent-casting, lmk because I had a lot of fun doing this! Special shoutout to @humaudrey for helping me decide between a couple of options!

Feel free to use any of these ideas if they help you! I’d appreciate credit but it’s not really necessary, but if you do use them please tag me or send me a link so that I can see what other people come up with!

The Badun Detective Agency's First Laugh Fairies (Part 1);

Okay, since Neverland fairies are created from a babies' first laugh that means everyone who's ever laughed has one. Including the Badun Detective Agency so here we are.

Thanks @casinotrio1965 for both the idea and the help.

Might make a similar thing for the rest of descendants kids or the Hannah Hook crew if anyone is interested.

I'll also make Samantha Cove and the rest of the proteges' fairies later.

The Badun detective agency in the 1920 mafia AU

For @hannahhook7744 I hope you enjoy!

There is a child at Jace's doorstep.

A fucking child, looking up at him with wide innocent eyes, like a fucking cherub. His hair a wild mess flung around by the chilly wind, and their ends were dyed blue.

(Who on earth lets a child dye its hair?)

Jace slowly blinks and looks down again: the boy is still here. Well.

„What do you want, kid?“ he asks, hoping that the child might want, well, directions back to his parents? That would be nice?

„My mom has three disembodied corpses in her basement,“ the boy states blankly, a picture of perfect innocence. His eyes are suddenly mildly unnerving, and it takes Jace's brain a moment to catch up on him.

„…What the fuck?“ he mutters more for himself than for the child, who takes it as an encouragement to repeat its words anyway.

So Jace draws a sharp breath and yells down the hall at his cousin: „Harry! Come here this instant! And bring your gun!“

You know, just in case-

Harry Badun runs to the door in truly record speed, the weapon safely pointed down. He looks disappointed when he sees only a child.

„Tell him what you told me,“ Jace sights towards the visitor.

„My mom has three disembodied corpses in her basement. They talk to me when I sleep.“

Ok.

That is a new info.

This is cool. Totally cool.

Harry tightens his grip on the weapon and looks around the street, then up the roofs, which, you know, always a good idea.

They are clear, though. It doesn't look as if anyone is gonna jump them, much less some psychotic woman. Those don't tend to be too quiet, and the Badun cousins would know.

Oh, and by the way. That silhouette against that balustrade over there? That is totally Reza. Snogging Jade. Harry owes Jace for this one.

Anyway. Right, the corpses.

„Come on, kid,“ he says, „Go inside and then tell us what you know, yeah?“

The kid's eyes shine as he steps inside and exclaims: „Do I get to be a detective too? I have always wanted to be a detective! I would be an awesome detective, since I know how do bodies look how long after death already!“

This is not a worrying statement at all. Not at all.

A shadow peels off the wall. Hermie. She was listening the whole time, of course she was.

„Dead bodies?“

„What exactly do you mean?!“

The kid answers and Jace bites back the irrational need to scream his lungs out. A vein at his temple pulses as the kid starts describing a rotting corpse with freakish accuracy to way too interested Hermie.

„Quiet! I need to concentrate!“ shouts Yzla from upstairs, „This is a delicate process!“

„Stop painting your pretty pictures for a moment,“ shouts Harry back, „This is a bloody murder case!“

„I'm trying to recreate Renoir here, you ignorant simpleton-“

„A what?“

Yzla screams incoherently and Jace interrupts the argument before it can truly begin:

„We also have a kid that might be in danger and knows absolutely too much.“

„…I'm coming. But if the paint dries and I won't be able to get back to it, it will be all your fault.“

Jace doesn't even acknowledge that as worthy of an answer.

„Jace?“ Hermie nudges him slightly, while the kid infodumps at slightly traumatized-looking Harry about the different types of gunshot wounds, „Should I get Reza too?“

„…Nah,“ decides Jace, „He is snogging Jade right now, and we wouldn't want to interrupt.“

Hermie nods curtly and turns over to Harry: „You owe me and Yzla a bottle of cognac,“ she says, and Jace whistles. His cousin is losing in the big, today.

The kid tugs at his sleeve: „So what about my mom's basement, Mr Detective?“ the kid asks and he really should ask who his mom is. Also, what is his name?

So he asks, and when the child answers, looking at him with impossibly wide eyes, he almost gets an aneurysm.

„I'm detective Hadie, sir,“ the child reports proudly. Harry and Hermie just shrug – they don't know what is happening either. Nor does Yzla, who just appeared at the top of the stairs, wearing nothing but a negligee, and didn't she say she was working?

Oh, well.

Jace clears his throat.

„Right, kid. Hadie. And who is your mother?“

„But you are detectives!“ the child protests, „You gotta know that, no?“

„…Sure. We know that. Absolutely. And the bodies? Wait, no,“ Jace catches himself. This will certainly be a conversation, so:

„Let's go to the saloon first, shall we?“

Even if the saloon is just a fancy name for a room with a dining table and the kitchen counter, as he and Harry can hardly afford anything else.

They do have enough chairs, though, even if they are rarely used and mostly ignored: Hermie sits on the table, swinging her legs idly in the air, and Yzla plops herself down Harry's lap, setting his weapon aside. Fucking menace, that girl.

Jace himself takes the chair next to them and the boy stays standing.

(If Reza wouldn't be too busy with his current hookup, he would just lean against the wall and try to look very cool and intimidating, and smoke his cigarettes. Jace could do with a cigarette himself. Or better yet, a drink. The cigarette smoke reminds himself and Harry a bit too much of Cruella.)

„Now, tell us what you know,“ Jace asks the kid and damn. That kid. Does not shut up. Ever.

By the first thirty minutes, Yzla gets up and opens a bottle of wine to pass around, not even bothering with the glasses.

By an hour, Hermie is playing with her favourite dagger a bit too much and Harry has reclaimed back his handgun.

By hour and half, Jace is very ready to bleach his brain, thank you very much.

Hadie slows for a moment and Jace immediately stops him: „I think that's quite enough for today, Hadie,“ he says, „Thank you. Would you just step behind that door real quick?“

The kid pouts at him.

„Ehm… Me and my detectives need to discuss the evidence you just presented to us. And decide the, ehm, next course of action.“

Hadie finally steps behind the door when all present adults – including Eddie, who showed up half-way through – point at them.

And there is not much of a discussion, not really.

„Tell me we are taking that kid to Uma,“ blurts out Yzla before he can even speak.

„We could keep him,“ propose Hermie and Harry at the same time, and, yeah, no. As if Harry didn’t know they are barely staying afloat as it is, never mind, you know, not remotely responsible enough to raise a child?

…Yeah, it says a lot when a child would be safer on the streets, under the protection of one of the wildest Auradon City gangs, than anywhere else.

„We are taking him to Uma,“ decides Jace, and Yzla sights in relief. Eddie motions for her to pass the wine.

„You can come back, kid!“ Jace raises his voice, „We have decided!“

„Yay!“ the tiny disaster runs back to the room, „Do I get to be a detective too? Will we solve the case of my mother’s basement? Track down the victims’ family?“

Actually…

Jace knows how to get the kid to cooperate and go to safety voluntarily now: He winks at his associates, as to signal the general „don’t question me, I’ve got this.“

„Sure we are, kid. But, you see, right now we are working on another serious case, and we need you to help us. Will you be our eyes on the streets, detective Hadie?“

„Yes! I will, Mr detective sir! When do I start?“

„As soon as we can get you to the location. Now, let’s not lose any more time: We will debrief you on the way.“

That will hopefully give Jace enough time to come up with decent backstory, so, yeah.

With a yawn, Yzla gets up and sets off to her atelier, also known as the attic, not bothering to say goodbye, and Harry sets off to find his metal boxer and emergency knife.

„Reza is gonna be so mad he missed this-“ Hermie giggles, „It’s gonna be so much fun!“

And then, the Badun detective agency escorts its newest member, or, more accurately, adoptee, to Uma.

They don’t have any idea how much trouble they are causing Uma in the long run.

The Shattered Hope is the one of the oldest gangs on the Isle and the one with the most active hands in intergang relations, earning it the position of Council Leader.

How do you think Jade, The de vil cousins, The Badun cousins, Dizzy, and Hadie felt when the core four left?

On the one hand, they would be happy that their friends and relatives got off the Isle.

On the other hand, were they actually told what happened? Maleficent got a message from Auradon, she told the four, and they got sent to the limousine. They didn't have time to pack or leave messages or anything. So the first the others would have known of it was when they saw the whole crowd gathered watching the four of them go into the car.

So they would be happy for them, and worried for them ("Auradon's not going to execute you, are they?") and wondering what they were doing ("WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THERE WITH THAT WAND?!") and hoping they would hear from them ("Jay, you can't send a letter or something? You better have a valid reason for letting me think you just disappeared into thin air-") and that they would get off the Isle too. ("It has been ninety-eight days, sixteen hours, and twenty-three minutes since Carlos and the others left without a word, and now we have no clue what they're up to or if they've forgotten about us or if they're trying to help or what." "Diego, talking to the television isn't going to help.")

My headcanon of a VK hierarchy

(Thank you wikipedia list of Disney Villains. I will be listing canon VK's that apply where necessary)

Rank 1 (Reflections) Kids of the "13 reflections of evil" (the 13 villains that are used most often in Disney's marketing). Often these are gang leaders (or at least high up in the gangs). Messing with any of them is a really, really bad idea. You're going to end up dead, or, if you're lucky, severely wounded.

Evil Queen (Evie) Chernabog Queen of Hearts Captain Hook (Harry, CJ, Harriet) Maleficent (Mal) Cruella de Vil (Carlos) Ursula (Uma) Gaston (Junior, III, Gil) Jafar (Jay) Oogie Boogie Scar Hades (Mal again, Hadie) Dr. Facilier (Freddie, Celia)

While some with strong connections to these villains (such as Diego and Jade) will be elevated higher due to this, they won't be in rank 1. They're more likely to be somewhere in rank 3 or 4.

Rank 2 (Big-name VK's) Kids of villains that might not be part of the reflections of evil, but still have big name recognition. Think of a disney villain, which ones outside of the reflections of evil are likely to come to mind first? Yeah, those are in here.

Examples, but not conclusive: Claude Frollo (Claudine) Horned King Tremaine family (Dizzy, Anthony, unnamed cousins/siblings of these two) Madam Mim (Maddy) Mother Gothel (Ginny) Prince Hans Shere Khan Yzma (Yzla, Zevon) Shan Yu

Rank 3 (Small-name VK's) The villains that are in movies but that you're not likely to name if asked for a villain, or even have to check a list for in order to remember them. I'll be listing their movie with them.

Examples, but not conclusive: Amos Slade (Fox & The Hound) The Stabbingtons (Tangled) Edgar Balthazar (Aristocats) The Ringmaster (Dumbo) (Hermie)

I truly am not in the position to give more examples in this rank since it really depends on each individual person tbh, but you get what I mean.

Rank 4 (Protected) Sidekicks, family, gang members, kids; if they are under the protection of higher ranked VK's they go here. This is where Jace and Harry Badun, as well as Reza, would fall. Possibly the Smee kids, Diego, and Jade too, but those might be able to make it into rank 3.

Rank 4 might have a hierarchy within itself, but it's not as formal as the actual isle hierarchy. For most if not all kids on the isle, this is the highest rank that one can climb to; anything higher than rank 4 is unachievable.

Rank 5 and lower Honestly, these are harder to be specific about since we don't really have any examples. These kids aren't really VK's. Their parents were sent here for crimes, yes, but they're not villains the same way the above are. Crimes can range anywhere from minor offences to murder. There is likely a rank system between them too (which is why I listed it as rank 5 and lower) depending on the crime the parents committed, but ranks 4 and up don't often bother with them unless they're recruiting (in which case the ones joining go up to rank 4)

Who are the nicest guys in descendants from both books and movies?

I mean, the main ones in the movies all pretty nice. Objectively Gil and Carlos are probably the nicest.

Jay and Harry both have more of that isle boy "tough guy" exterior personality, but they are both very good to their friends. They would do anything for the people they love and to me that's nice enough.

Ben, he's sweet but I'm not putting him at the top of the list because of how long it took him to apologize to Audrey.

The boys in the books, most of them are pretty chaotic because most of them are from the isle. Harry and Jace badun weren't as chaotic I didn't think. But like... Idk if anyone else made the "nice" list.

Chad, well I don't think he's supposed to be nice but he was pretty good to Audrey. He was there for her when Ben wasn't, that has to count for something.

I definitely forgot some, but I always do when I start thinking about it. My mind just goes blank.

( reposted from my main blog now that I have a descendants specific sideblog, with some characters that I forgot the first time! ) – I’m not recasting anyone from canon, just live action casting for Wicked World & Isle Of The Lost characters! If I’ve forgotten anyone, or if there’s any interest in parent-casting, lmk because I had a lot of fun doing this! Special shoutout to @humaudrey for helping me decide between a couple of options!

I have my own collection of descendants characters ( part 1 / part 2 / desktop ) so some of my castings were based around my own collection of descendants kids (not reusing faces I used for mine & wanting them to work as siblings to some I’ve made) but without further ado, here we go!

Chapter 3: Repeat after me: Homicide is not an option.

I can’t find the first chapters, so I’m just gonna post it here. Written together with @hannahhook7744 ♥

Jace was going to murder whoever was calling him this time.

It didn’t matter who it was. They were dead.

It was three in the fucking morning!

WHO CALLS SOMEONE AT THREE IN THE MORNING?!

"What the FUCK do you want—"

"Hey Jacey. Sorry, I know that it's late where you are but—"

Okay. Maybe murder was an overreaction.

"Oh hey Elle. What's up?"

Anthony snorted from the chair he was sitting in by the bar.

Jace decided to ignore him for now.

"Well, I was wondering where you kept Panos' insulin—"

"Oh did I forget to tell you about that? It's in a secret compartment in the chest under the hammock."

"Alright, thanks. Sorry for waking you—"

"No, no. It's fine. I was already up—"

This time, Sammy was the one to snort.

Jace shot him a glare but said nothing.

"Anthony?" Sammy asked with growing suspicion, "How come no one ever calls you?"

Disinterested Anthony Tremaine lifted his head from whatever pretentious novela he was reading at the moment.

"What are you talking about? Audrey calls me all the time," he said calmly.

"That’s not what I mean and you know it. She calls you to gossip, not to–" Not to ask for bail money or because of missing children or because they don’t know where the coffee is.

"I need to know what you did to make them leave you alone," decided Sammy.

"Burner phone, man. No one has the number. No one can call me but Audrey," Tremaine smirked, extremely self-satisfied and extremely punchable, "Now that we’re speaking about it, someone’s calling you."

Yes, Harriet. Who is still pissed about Anthony’s disappearance of the face of the Earth.

Sammy talked her through hopefully not killing anyone, and then turned back to Tremaine, who did have the decency to pretend not to eavesdrop. "One beautiful day, I’ll murder you," they promised him.

"Hmm, not if my girls do it first."

What an extremely normal and non concerning answer. But hey, at least it will be painful.

—Line Break—

Sammy's phone rang again.

And again.

"What the fuck do you want?"

"Hey Sam. Sammy. Sam the man—"

"What did you do, Harry?"

"Cj and I need bail money—"

There was a scuffle over the phone.

"Hey! No—I thought we agreed I was doing the talking?"

"You're making him mad! Give it—"

"No!"

Sammy would like to state here and now that they were not paid enough for this. And that they were on vacation. And that they really didn’t want to know what the younger two Hooks did.

"Call Harriet," Sammy said. He wished the jail would stop offering the one free call."

"I feel safer in jail" Harry deadpanned.

"For once I agree with him."

Yeah no Sammy couldn’t argue with that.

"Uma, then," they offered.

"Once again, I feel safer in jail," CJ piped up.

"Hey! That’s my Captain you’re talking about!" Harry argued, "But yeah. Jail’s safer."

"I hate both of you. Call Gil, then."

"He’d tell Uma!"

"As he damn well should."

"Please, Sammy, just send us the bail money! You’re basically my favorite

brother!" (CJ. Of course it was her.)

"Hey! I’m standing right there!" (Harry. Who else?)

Sammy was tired of it. "Please, don’t murder each other while in the police office. And, I don’t know. Try Ginny."

To the twin screams of "Have you met her?!", Sammy hung up.

—Line Break—

Jace growled in frustration as his phone rang yet again.

For the sixth time in the last hour and for the one hundredth and something time since he left for vacation.

He was definitely gonna commit murder by the time they got back from Tahiti.

"Hey Sam?"

Sammy hummed in response—not looking up from his newspaper.

"How long is a life sentence again?"

Line break

"Sammy! Just wanted to let you know that Claudine might or might not be attempting an exorcism right now! In Castle Beast or wherever the nice fairy lady with outdated costumes lives! I hope you remember this the next time I need a tiny little favor! Bye, love you!"

Sammy stared at the phone in silent horror, the name of Ivy de Vil still on screen.

They were starting to think that burner phones might not be a bad idea.

Finally, they broke out of their stupor: "What the fuck does she think I can do with it now?!" They hissed at the screen.

"Do I even want to know why you're making that face?" Jace asked, barely glancing up from his cards.

They had been playing poker when Sammy got the text.

"No."

"Okaaaaaay then…. I'm just gonna take your word for it. "

—Line Break—

Jace winced as his phone buzzed.

Wondering what he ever did to deserve this.

Whatever this was.

He dreaded finding it out.

Knowing the people who had his number, it couldn't be good.

*Buzz*

The brunette sighed before deciding that things would go a lot smoother if he just answered now and not later. "Detective Jason Badun at your service. How can I be of service–”

"Detective Jason Badun," the voice was most definitely dripping with sarcasm and detective Jason Badun winced. He recognised that voice, unfortunately. He had just hoped that the god of the dead didn’t know how to use a phone.

"Care to tell me where my son is?"

Hadie. They lost Hadie.

First Chloe and now Hadie. He goes away for a day or two and this happens!

He breathed through his teeth slowly.

"Excuse me, I’ll be back with you in a second."

("Customer voice," nodded Tremaine approvingly, and nearby Sammy almost choked, trying not to laugh.)

Jace ignored both of them as he hung up and immediately dialed his cousin.

Harry didn't answer.

"That bitch!” Jace growled frustrated, ignoring the scandalized look another vacationer sent his way at his crude language.

Sammy did laugh that time.

"It's not funny, blondey! Hades is gonna murder me!”

"Not if you snitch to Persephone first” Anthony chimed in, drinking some coconut milk out of a straw. Looking bored.

Jace and Sammy stared at him.

Both clearly too stressed out to get his meaning.

The red head sighed. "Hades can't murder you for losing the kid he was supposed to be watching if you snitch on him to his wife for losing the kid.”

"... That… can work?” Jace asked, confused. As if the idea had never occurred to him before.

Anthony rolled his eyes. "Yes. It works all the time with my siblings and cousins. Whoever snitches to whoever is in charge first is the one who is usually believed. Soo.. get on that.”

The other two continued to stare at him.

It was starting to become creepy—so he clapped. "Chop, chop. You gotta call her first, remember?”

Jace shot out of his chair, muttering curses as he scrambled to find Persephone's number (which he had for when Hadie was being particularly difficult).

Anthony snorted. "And they saw I'm the airhead.”

—Line Break—

Sammy abruptly got up from their seat, where they were scrolling through their phone, which was, for once, not ringing. So, just a bit of mindless media consumption, as you do.

But no. It was a bad fucking idea.

Sammy cursed as they resisted breaking the bloody device and muttered something like "You leave them alone for a weekend–"

They stormed away to their room before anyone could ask what happened; for the rest of the night, sounds of packing could be heard, interrupted by agitated but quiet phone calls.

Chapter 4: Okay so maybe Homicide is an option—

"Uh… Sammy. You okay dude?” Jace asked warily, watching from the doorway as the blonde frantically threw his clothes into his suitcases.

"Obviously they're not.” Anthony snorted, rolling his eyes. Still sipping on his coconut milk. "Are you blind?”

"It’s called common courtesy, Tremaine, you wouldn’t know," replied Jace. Sammy ignored both of them, well used to Anthony’s constant bickering.

"Whatever," shrugged Anthony, "I just don’t care all that much." He turned to leave, only for Sammy to call after him.

"You should care. Beauty’s name leaked, and I’m willing to say it’s at least fifty percent your fault."

"I’m not even there, how can it be my fault?" Anthony turned his nose up, while Jace tried to figure out what exactly happened. He was fine with saying it was Anthony’s fault, though, whatever it was. That’s what he gets for being so annoying.

"You're the one who suggested the stupid name in the first place and you're the only one who writes the full name of the ship down everywhere! Well, you and Harriet.”

"That doesn't mean it's my fault!”

"Wha—that’s exactly what it means!”

"Nuh uh.”

Jace sighed. "You are aware that you sound like your little cousins when you do that, right?”

Anthony sputtered. "I do not!”

Sammy kept packing—ignoring the two of them as they started to bicker.

…. Only for the TV to cut them off.

"Breaking news, teenage sleuth Harry Badun is leading a non peaceful protest at Beast Castle—”

"GODS FUCKING DAMN IT, HARRY!” Jace snapped frustrated before going to pack his own bag. As it was obvious that he was gonna be needed to fix the mess his cousin had made.

"What? You're going home too? Booo. You guys are no fun” Anthony huffed.

Both ignored him now.

"Whatever, then. Enjoy being killjoys I guess, good luck keeping those morons back home alive. Sam, say hello from me to everyone on Dead Beauty."

Sammy stared at him for a moment, before shaking their head.

"You’re so fucking dead, Tremaine. You know that, right?"

"I'm only dead if they can find or catch me. Which they can't.” Anthony replied, smirking.

Jace threw a sock at him—which hit him directly in the face.

"Ew! What the fuck Badun—”
