Wearing Something of the Danny Boy's (Part 1)
More headcanons with our darling boys. I'm watching Rush finally so I can get Niki added to the roster but I must say I did not expect Daniel to sound like he does in it. Anyways, the boys covered here are Alex, Erik, Zemo, and István. I am working on a second enstallment of the dating headcanons so look out for that as well as a second enstallment of this one!
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Tumblr media
Alex Kerner
• You're hanging out in Alex's apartment when you spot it hanging from the back of his desk chair.
• Alex's blue denim jacket.
• You don't hesitate to grab it and immediately wrap yourself up in it. It's big and warm, but most importantly it smells like the cheap cologne Alex wears that you can't seem to get enough of.
• When Alex gets back from doing some shopping he wasn't quite expecting his partner to be looking absolutely adorable while watching some random Football game on the television.
• His jacket is huge. He likes having something that can feel more cozy in and so you seem to swim in the fabric. The sleeves covers most of your hands as you're curled up into a ball so it can surround you while wearing it.
• Alex sets the groceries down and watches you for a little longer before he joins you and the two of you end up snuggled together.
• "That jacket looks better on you than it ever has on me."
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Tumblr media
Erik Jan Hanussen
• Now it wasn't his signature fur coat you went for, but the monocle.
• The monocle Erik seemed to keep in the most pristine condition just like everything else around him. It fascinated you and brought plenty of amusement watching him fiddle with it throughout the day.
• And here you were now looking at the monocle resting on his desk while Erik had left the study to retrieve a book.
• When he returned he found you looking into a handheld mirror while holding the monocle carefully to one of your eyes.
• Erik wasn't upset by it. He was actually more amused than anything.
• All he could do was chuckle as he crossed the threshold back into the room and say with a voice light and warm, "Meine Maus (My Mouse), what have you found?"
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Tumblr media
Helmut Zemo
• It was always the coat that caught your attention when it came to his fashion choices.
• When Zemo had went to his study to take a call and left the coat behind you jumped at it.
• You had felt the coat before while cuddling with him but you hadn't had a chance to actually wear it so far.
• The collar is soft and the coat smells just like him. The warm hint of spice and tobacco smoke with something that's unmistakably Helmut about it. It's warm and you can use it as a blanket if you really wanted.
• So that's the option you went with.
• Zemo came back down with an apology already on the tip of his tongue but it seemed to die off back into his throat when he spotted you.
• He watched as you laid on your side flipping through a magazine on the spacious sofa. You nuzzled into the fur and happily sighed as you adjusted it to try and completely disappear under it.
• Zemo came to sit with you. "Would you like to lay on my lap draga?" You ended up with the coat still around you as you rested your head in his lap while he played with your hair.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Tumblr media
István Thurzó
• Like with Erik your interest laid with an accessory rather than just a piece of clothing.
• Seeing his golden necklace on him at all times made you in turn want to wear it.
• While István was bathing you were able to fully and finally hold that necklace. You had held onto it while you two cuddled but having it not attached to István was a new sight.
• It didn't take long for you to decide to clasp it around your neck and look in the mirror of the bedroom.
• "I see you have found my necklace."
• István looked in the mirror from behind you while he wrapped his arms around your waist.
• He thought it looked wonderful on you and expressed such with a bombardment of kisses to your neck, including kissing where the necklace met your skin with worshipful admiration.

The cosy town of Nyírbátor is situated in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. The settlement is well-known for its lay and religious buildings from the 15th-16th century and also the former lords of the land, the members of the Báthory family. In the mediaeval ages the city flourished as a cultural and trading centre, its heyday lasted for a long period of time. The first historical sources mentioning the keep dates back to the year of 1549, in addition, in the 15th-16th centuries when the construction was ended the building bared renaissance marks and so it became the most significant late gothic monument. An outstanding fraction of the settlement history is that István Báthori (1393-1444) magistrate was the member of the Dragon Order knighthood founded by King Zsigmond Luxemburg and his wife Queen Borbála in 1408. Regarding as a precedent, the Hungarian knights formed the Saint Gorge knighthood with the approval of King Róbert Károly in 1326 and vowed to protect the country and knightly virtue. Moreover, the events of the first part of the 15th century such as the Hussite War and increasing Ottoman threat led to the oblivion of the Saint George knighthood, however, King Zsigmond revived the order and ideal. Báthori Erzsébet countess, who was born here in 1560, possessed a great fortune for which she was arrested by György Thurzó palatine influenced by his hostility and the Hapsburgs, forced her to attend to a show trial in order to take away her wealth. The cousin of the countess, Gábor Báthory the Duke of Transylvania was considered to be the enemy of the Hapsburg. The chateau, which was renovated in 2006, awaits the visitors with its park. The friary of the Minorits houses the Báthori István Museum with its overall collection and exhibition of the town’s rich history.

The Countess (2009)
Tumblr media
If you’re going to bring a familiar story or well-known historical figure to life on the big screen, you’ve got to bring something new to the table. That's what The Countess does. You may not know Erzsébet Báthory, but you probably recognize "Elizabeth Bathory", the notorious 16th-century serial killer.
This psychological gothic horror/drama details the life of the countess (played by Julie Delpy), from her birth in 1560 to her death. After her husband’s passing, she rules over his estate. As her army keeps the Turks out of Hungary, the kingdom grows increasingly indebted towards her. Today, she is known for abducting, murdering, and then bathing in the blood of virgins to keep herself young. Were these accusations based on real events, fabrications by her political rivals, or somewhere in between?
Julie Delpy (who stars, writes, and directs) offers a wholly original take on the history of Bathory. I never thought twice to question the stories of the woman who lived in a castle and murdered virgins so that she could feed on their youth. Why not? Isn't it just as likely the stories we've heard are wild exaggerations or even full-blown folklore? Let's keep in mind the period. The 16th Century is not particularly well-known for its gender equality. Is it possible that a scheming, jealous rival of Báthory could have framed her and that other men joined in to remove a powerful woman from her position? It sounds more plausible than a real-life vampire, that's for sure. Alternatively, I'd believe Báthory did murder all of those young women but that her accusers wouldn't have cared unless they saw something to gain from her conviction. Complex ideas and differing interpretations can be drawn from individual scenes and the film as a whole. Once those floodgates are opened, you wonder what other historical monsters might've been created by those who outlived them.
This angle is the most interesting part of the film, but there is plenty else to like. This is a passion project; a great-looking period piece with elaborate, authentic-looking costumes and sets (I’m no expert on mid to late 16th Century Hungary). It gets ghoulish and unsettling, but never too much that someone who isn’t accustomed or drawn to horror couldn’t bear to sit through it. The characters are well developed and the relationships compelling to follow. I enjoyed seeing as Daniel Brühl as István Thurzó and Sebastian Blomberg as Dominic Vizakna. The way those two play in the story adds a whole lot of complexity.
Keep in mind, this isn't a documentary. Many events are depicted in a deliberately ambiguous way, and it's all told in flashback by someone who wasn't present for many of the events. You shouldn't criticize its authenticity. Actual flaws include the pacing during the early years of Báthory’s life and some of the performances by the young cast. There are extensive flashback sequences that could've been dropped for time, particularly when it seems like later years are merely touched upon, even when multiple murders are committed. Perhaps spreading those out to bridge the seasons would have worked better and made the film more digestible for audiences who are not familiar with gothic storylines. The bad acting is self-explanatory. Whenever you see a kid on-screen, get ready to cringe.
Small flaws aside, The Countess is a horror/drama with a brain. It's about much more than a singular character we're "getting to know for the first time"; it'll make you wonder about women of the past, and any historical figures that seem too good (or rather, bad) to be true. (On DVD, October 2, 2015)

FUCK, MARRY, KILL: Daniel Brühl Cinematic Universe Edition
Just for funsies. Don't have an aneurysm. Leaning towards Zemo, Laszlo, and Böse, in that order, at the moment. At some other point, I might have said Thomas Lang, Niki Lauda, and Erik Jan Hanussen.
Because of the 30-photo limitation, I removed his minor and/or underdeveloped roles and the ones that wouldn't be difficult to "kill". I also didn't include the ones I haven't seen, so you won't see Salvador on this list. p.s. if anyone has a copy/link to that movie with English subs, I'd be forever grateful!
