Gonna go on a rant but honestly what annoys me the most abt the TBOI community is the constant weird ass double standards. For a game as graphic, gritty and dark as it gets people just love to stagger other's creativity on what you should and shouldn't be depicting for the game. Despite being a game depicting all kinds of gore, body horror, child abuse/trauma and other various dark topics suddenly a child being simply LGBT or being depicted with s/h scars crosses the line despite the fact the community also proceeds to sexualize a game centered around a child WAY too often. So I just want to say no you're not a fucked up person for having your own dark depictions of the game, that is literally the point of the game's existence, the game is literally a message abt childhood trauma and how dark and disturbed a child's mind can get due to it, it's considered a massive comfort not just for me but for many others in many ways, it's heavy depictions can help many others feel validated in their own personal battles just how Isaac has his own personal battles himself and allows others to process their own shit. Edmund literally leaves a lot of what goes on in Isaac's mind up to your own interpretation on purpose, because we can all see a little bit of ourselves in Isaac. As long as the content is properly filtered ofc you should be expecting heavy topics to arise in a game like this. Period.

can I make a formal request that people stop trying to add accents into their dialogue? I have no idea what accent you're even trying to accomplish most of the time AND it (at least as I've seen it lately on here) is like a shorthand for "not white" (with the only exception being some fucking white southern gone with the wind bs...). If you want to get another culture to come across in your writing, try slang or common sayings. Nothing makes me think southern like "y'all" or "bless your heart" (good and fine). And nothing makes me think that the writer is lazy like adding an accent when what you actually mean is "person of color" (bad and racist) because--even though you're writing fanfic, the reader apparently can't figure out who's talking unless you add that shit in

The AlliScIsaac is only one part of a greater whole, but the poses are all directly referenced from the official art from the game, and those three just fit the trio so well.

Ok, I'm ship neutral, so no ship hate, but I have never seen people absolutely denying reality and facts this hard and as a logic loving person I cannot stand this level of delusion.

Lokius shippers might as well argue the earth is flat in the main tags, that's what it feels like to scroll trough this weirdness.

So it's gonna be this one rant post, correctly tagged of course, to vent and then I'll have to blacklist this tag (which I have never done before with any tag, cause nothing was ever this bad) for my sanity.

Firstly:

Sylki is the canon relationship of the show.

Still, even if they've broken up.

So, if Loki is in love, it's with Sylvie.

That's that Isaac Bauman interview.

It is not in any way confirmation of lokius.

(Oh and the rainbow as a symbol of hope and new beginnings passes over everybodys face. Because Loki gives everyone hope. Rainbows did have symbolic meaning before the creation of the pride flag and by denying that, shippers sound like weird ass Karens claiming the fashion industry is pushing the gay agenda by printing rainbows on kids shirts.)

Now next interview, the Kevin Wright one:

He talks about Sylki as a romantic relationship and how much Loki still cares about her, even if there is no time to focus on that, and mentions that Loki was only able to do what he did 'because he cares about her, he cares about Mobius, more than anyone he's ever cared about.' Both of them!

So shippers actually took a Sylki interview to make it about Lokius.

The 'it's about who': there's an Eric Martin interview, where he explains that losing Sylvie was the last straw for Loki and then he started to control his slipping and it was about all of the people he cared about.

Which is logical, since he can slip if he focuses on a person. If it was about Mobius only, how would he end up in the citadel again.

And Loki does a full turn, then looks at the space where the audience would be, but not directly into the camera. Because it is about everyone in that room. Full turn.

Tom's interviews:

Tom calls both Mobius and Sylvie mirrors in an interview.

He uses 'passionate disagreement' for both of them.

He had to be informed about Lokius, because he wasn't aware of it, but is obvi ship neutral/ positive here, because he's a decent human being. That's still no canon confirmation.

Oh and the scrapped ep 5? There's no way it was simply 'romcom-like', as shippers love to imagine, that would have impressed nobody and Marvel already did that with WandaVision, so it would not have been a 'big conceptual swing.

It was most likely about Loki going back to the New York invasion, which is why B 15 is in 2012. Or slipping further back even.

That would not have fit the tone of the show and blewn the budget, so it got axed.

Now my inner virgo feels better.

Things that I am tired of seeing in the Peter Pan fandom:

Dark, edgy retellings with Peter as the villain. Been there, done that. It’s not new anymore. Be more creative.

Hook being turned into some goth Jack Sparrow wannabe. OUAT isn’t the only version that has done this, but it’s definitely the most popular. To be entirely fair, I enjoy OUAT…but Killian is NOT James Hook anymore than Rumple is Prince Adam. Also, just…Hook can be attractive while still actually looking like Hook. Case in point: Jason Isaacs in the 2003 film.

Sexually explicit retellings and drawings. I know everyone’s entitled to make their own fics and drawings, but please at least tag your stuff that’s explicit and stop making me need eyeball bleach. It’s a children’s story, and my mind would like to maintain the innocence. Barrie would be rolling in his grave if he saw some of the stuff out there.

Turning Hook into a pedophile. This goes along with the above but is even worse because YIKES. Hook is a lot of things, but a pedo he is not. There is literally no hint in the book or play that he feels that way about ANYONE, much less a kid, and it’s super gross. Just…no. There’s a quote from Disney’s Straight on Til Morning (Twisted Tale series) from one of the pirates talking to Wendy about Hook that I think about sums it up: “He might slit your throat, but the rest of you is safe.”

And finally…Hook is a former Lost Boy trope. This one isn’t terrible. I don’t mind it all that much. It’s just been done so many times, and it isn’t really consistent with the book. Hook canonically attended Eton, and he couldn’t have realistically done so unless he either went to Neverland BEFORE he went to Eton or left Eton after having been there only very briefly. But most of the “Hook was a Lost Boy” retellings don’t allow any room for Eton at all and I feel like it’s a pretty essential part of who he is. It’s why he’s so hung up on “good form.” Expressing his loyalty to Eton is literally the last thing Barrie’s Hook says before he dies. (“Floreat Etona” - “May Eton flourish.”) You can’t take that part of his history away from him and have the same character.

Skye is very antisocial; she can’t stand to be around anyone that isn’t her siblings and her cheer squad at first

She loves to paint; if Allison or Isaac need her for something, they would normally find her painting a landscape with her headphones on

Not long after the Lewis siblings came to Narnia the first time, Skye decided to go out and explore. While she was exploring, she stumbled upon a weird-looking egg. Being a GoT fan, Skye immediately recognized it as a dragon egg. To make a long story short, when the mother didn’t come back to claim the egg, she took it back with her and raised it as her own. Skye named him Hephaestus after the Greek God of Fire because he was her favorite

You wouldn’t expect Skye to be a cheerleader because of her antisocial tendencies, but she loves the flips and tricks of it all. She also likes the close camaraderie of the team

Skye found out she liked girls over guys when she developed a crush on Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill and went on a huge rant over how horribly Lucas and Peyton treated her. She may have a similar personality to Peyton, but she would never treat her best friend like that

Her favorite band is The Bangles, which surprises people since the band is pop rock

Skye’s first meeting with Lucy was… interesting, to say the least. After hearing Allison describe Cair Paravel, she wanted to go and see it for herself. Skye snuck in through the gardens, where she got surprised by Lucy. The two of them just stared at each other, but when Skye heard the guards coming, she panicked, surprised-kissed Lucy to catch her off guard and ran off

She’s surprisingly a very picky eater, and mostly prefers to eat pasta

Skye LOVES The Rocky Horror Picture Show; she forces Allison and Isaac to go with her to see it every Halloween, and she would always dress up as Magenta

She would do anything for her siblings because they saved her from their parents and she got to live a normal life thanks to them

Okay, so the first story is about Felix Bentley and Isaac Milton and they live in this small town located in the mountains. A bit of a backstory on these two:

felix was bullied in school bc he’s trans and Isaac was bullied bc his grandpa supposedly killed his three brothers and now Isaac lives in the villa where his grandpa apparently hid the bodies. So they are both outsiders and start to befriend each other. Also they are obsessed with this card game that’s like dnd meets yugioh (kind of) (actually Isaac was the one obsessed with it but he kinda dragged felix into it).

Fast forward a few years the boys come back from college and open a record store until the day where they get the notification that they got the job at the graveyard and that from now on the have to take the graveyard shift there. Felix is not amused™️! But he goes bc Isaac does and by god Felix knows he can’t let that boy go there on his own.

So at first they thought that they just had to watch over the graves and light candles and make sure that no one vandalizes the cemetery, but soon they find out they actually have to guard the ghosts and stop them from leaving the cemetery to haunt the people in the town for revenge and well fulfill their last wishes.

Good thing, that they have magic that helps them to guard the ghosts, right? Right????

Now some facts about the boys:

Felix:

Isaac gave him the name

recently had top surgery (he’s not on T and doesn’t want to be)

He stool Isaac’s hoodies to hide his chest and still does it out of habit (and bc he has a major crush on Isaac but no one is allowed to know so pssssst!!!)

he’s the Spiritfarer in the card game they play: that means he’s a spell caster and can make deals with ghosts

He gets the aux in Isaac’s car bc his music taste is superior

Isaac:

kinda emo, kinda loud

he’s blind on his right eye

he always packs an extra hoodie for Felix

apparently his family owns the graveyard????

in the card game he is the ghost king: he can rule and judge over the ghosts, he’s also a good swordsman

Man never shuts up, he’s probably ranting about something to Felix right now

used to have a crush on Felix, but he’s over that now, he’s totally chill, absolutely not insane about his best friend, totally cool and collected yeah idk what you are talking about

And the second story that takes place in the same town in about Rocky (they/he), Checkers, Halvor and Fluffkins (Leo). This is the story about Rocky and Checkers who ran away to find the lead singer of their fav rock/punk band Kill Switch that disbanded in the 90s under mysterious circumstances.

I haven’t fully developed their story yet but!!!!

Halvor is the lead singer of that band and he kinda takes in Rocky and Checkers. Oh and on the run Rocky and Checkers actually kill a man, that apparently happened. Also Halvor becomes something like their dad. And Fluffkins (Leo) is Halvor’s cat which was actually named Leo but Checkers deemed the name as boring and renamed him to Fluffkins (Fluffkins also imprinted on Rocky so good luck with that).

Halvor also kisses a demon when they work together with Felix and Isaac. Halvor in general is the bi king we all deserve to have in our lives!!!
