TENI say:
We are conducting research into the experiences of trans people in healthcare settings.
This project addresses the lack of awareness on denial and mistreatment frequently occurring in medical settings and will provide robust data on the extent and scope of the institutional violence trans and non-binary people face when seeking gender-affirming or general medical care. Please complete the survey at the link in our bio by 26th November!
Me, asking my GP to refer me to one of THREE endocrinologists listed on the TENI website for HRT prescriptions, only for her to say "Yeah, you probably know more about this than me" and openly google him in front of me.
Irish doctors are wild because they will just diagnose you with something and never tell you, so you just one day bring up you have adhd, autism or something else and they go you I diagnosed you after the first session.
Honestly about to put medicinal care in lev's hands instead of doctors on this plane lmfao, he always Says psychiatric stuff isnt his specialty and therefore he always refers me to somewhere else for it but like. no. @ the lord of consciousness and master physician you can mix the two together, i know you
anyway. He brought me this oil for the skin to help me see better, especially because Im bringing those light eyes into Vahana form and... other reasons. and i convinced him to give me something for anxiety because its a dual-sided issue im having where eyes are closed AND im too anxious to see with them. well! it works better than any fuckin physical medicine ive ever had
always sad when an old lady dies but like i’m so glad everyone else on my timeline is also STEAMING about the amount of money that’s gonna be flushed away IN A COST OF LIVING CRISISSS
Got my HPV vaccine today and I was pleasantly surprised to see the forms I had to fill out beforehand were trans inclusive, with the sex assigned at birth question separate from the gender question, which had 'male (including transgender men)' and 'female (including transgender women).' Don't remember there being a non-binary option unfortunately, but it's a step forward at least.
Belong To are doing a survey about accessing Gender Affirming Healthcare for 14-30 year olds so if anyone can spare 20 minutes this would be a great help. As we all know the wait is long and the process is unnecessarily invasive so maybe this will help change that.
EDIT: the survey has now closed. Thanks everyone for your support! Hopefully it’ll help being about well needed change!
The fact that dyspraxia has zero medication treatment sucks. Like, ADHD medication works, but I hardly have €1600 lying around to spend to get a diagnosis.
Listen don’t let people make fun of your countries’ lack of healthcare/ shitty system. We have healthcare in Ireland and I still spent 15 hours in the emergency room last night, 8 of which were spent just waiting to be seen by a doctor despite me being there due to my serious health conditions.
