~
We recognized a need for an inclusive space for Pedro fans on Tumblr, so we decided to start a curated list of fanfics and fan art.
We carefully screen all reader-insert fic recs to avoid white-coded language (such as flushing/blushing, red marks on skin, white-coded hair, etc).
We also want to build a library of POC and other underrepresented authors and artists, and curate fics and fan art featuring Pedro characters with queer and/or POC OCs. (We do not read or reblog RPF about Pedro Pascal, we only accept fics about his characters.)
This blog is for 18+ friends only. Minors DNI. Thank you.
Asks & Submissions are temporarily paused while we get things up and running! Thank you for your patience! Please read the submissions guidelines before sending anything in!

what’s your opinion on writers who write x reader second person pov fic but the reader has a given name (that isn’t just like a nickname)… because in my opinion I feel like that’s an oc at that point 😭 like there are certain names that are inherently race coded and I feel like saying that just because it’s still written as x reader doesn’t mean it’s not an oc? idk maybe I’m being too harsh about it but like what about us readers with ethnic names 😂 there’s so many in the pedro pascal fandom it’s crazy
Honestly I totally agree with you.
The moment the character has a name, it’s an oc for me… and they’re almost always white too. Because you’re right, most of the names people pick are very Caucasian. Which if you want to write an oc, then fully commit and write an oc and keep it out of the reader tags. Nothing wrong at all with writing an oc fic. Do what you want. But I think part of why people do that is to expose their fic to more readers since right now reader insert is more popular than oc.
What really bugs me the most tho is when a fic starts out as more of a blank slate reader and then a couple chapters in, switches to a (white again usually) named reader/oc. It’s so exclusionary and it’s so frustrating to see it over and over and over again. Especially when writing an inclusive reader insert, even in a longer chapter fic, is not that hard.
Pedro fandom is way too white I totally agree. And I feel your frustration too cause my full name is very Latino so none of these named reader fics ever describe me at all either.

Dead Dove December
Tumblr media
Hello everyone! This December I’m hosting an event for the Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal fandom that I’m calling, Dead Dove December! From 12/01/2023 - 12/31/2023 I’m encouraging others to create something that expresses their deepest and (most importantly) darkest desires. I will be reblogging all pieces of art or fanfiction, and will post a masterlist in January.
Details below the cut…
Tumblr media
What is Dead Dove Do Not Eat?
Dead Dove: Do Not Eat, or DDDNE has its origins in one of my comfort shows!
The phrase comes from a meme referencing the 2003 Arrested Development episode "Top Banana", in which Michael Bluth opens a paper bag labeled "DEAD DOVE DO NOT EAT" and, upon discovering that there is a dead dove inside the bag, says, deadpan, "I don't know what I expected." - fanlore.org
In short, what you see in the tags is what you should expect to see in the fic. This can apply for any type of fic, including the fluffy ones, but it’s usually associated with darker themes. That being said, this is your warning that this is a DARK THEMED EVENT. If you aren’t comfortable with darker topics like non-con, excessive violence, blood/gore, death, toxic relationships, 18+ age gaps, and more, then I encourage you not to participate in this event.
How to Participate
For the month of December, post your Dead Dove fanfiction or fan art on your blog. Use the tag #deaddovedecemeber2023 and tag me. You can also send a link via ask or DM if you like! I will not be posting anything for you, just reblogging and linking. At the end of December I will post a masterlist with links to everyone’s works! Side Note - Since Tumblr doesn’t really allow for NSFW art, you can post your work on Twitter or any other site that allows it and just send me that link so I can add it to the masterlist.
Tumblr media
Rules
You MUST be 18+ to participate. I will be checking your blog/social media to be sure. Please make sure your age is easy to find. If I find that you’re a minor or if your age isn’t readily present I will be blocking you and you will be unable to participate. You can just add that you are over 18 if you don’t want your age out on the internet. As the creator and promotor of this event, I need to know I’m not interacting with minors given the nature of this event.
The work MUST be dark in some way. There’s no limit to how dark your work needs to be or can be, but it needs to contain some sort of dark theme in order to qualify. If non con isn’t your thing, dub con via stockholm syndrome or brainwash can let you write a more comfortable scene while still remaining dark. Fics and art do not necessarily need to be NSFW.
Do NOT post anything before 12/01/2023. I will not count submissions prior to that date or after 12/31/2023. Masterlsit will be posted in January.
Your work MUST contain the proper tags. I won’t police how detailed your tags should be, but, for instance, if your work contains non-con, and you didn’t tag non-con then your work will not qualify. Please be inclusive in your writing where you can.
You may submit no more than two (2) pieces. This can include a fanfic and fanart, two fanfics or two fanarts. This is to allow someone to write a piece and make a work of art to accompany it.
I’m not going to yuck someone’s yum, but there are some things I’m just personally not comfortable with and since I’ll be reading/viewing all of these, I have a few things not allowed in the event. The list of what’s NOT allowed is shorter than the list of what IS allowed so here’s a list of the things that will NOT be tolerated in this event:
No underage/aged up minor content - To clarify, this includes things popular ships like - TLOU 1 or Show Ellie x Joel or Miguel O’Hara X Gwen Stacy. No "ageing up" minors for the purpose of a fic.
No Bestiality - To clarify, monsterfucking does NOT count as bestiality (at least to me). For example, werewolves, venom, Khonshu, e.t.c. are all allowed.
No incest - To clarify, step-sibling/step-parent relationships are permitted as long as everyone is 18+. Selfcest relationships are also allowed (like Moon Knight or Miguel with his alternate self, e.t.c.).
Tumblr media
If you’re unsure if something is allowed or not, you can send me a DM or an ask for clarification prior to posting.
You can use any prompts you want or none, you aren’t tied to any one idea but here are some to get the ideas flowing if you need them!
Also, you can absolutely use a fic to inspire your art, or art to inspire a fic! Your inspiration piece, whether yours or someone else’s does not have to be from December, but you MUST obtain permission from the original creator before I promote your work. Most creators are happy when their work inspires others, and all my fics are open to being used for inspiration, but please reach out to the creator first.
I’m very excited! I’ve never done anything like this before so things may be updated as I go so bear with me! Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!
Dividers and header made by the amazing @melodygatesauthor
Please consider reblogging to spread the word!

like I remember when i committed the grievous crime of saying that pedro pascal self insert fanfiction was both racist and annoying and for the next two weeks it became very clear to me that there was a group chat of some kind coordinating like half the self-insert fandom so they could all send me suibait and essay length anons about how I’m destroying the star wars fandom and censoring queer women and oppressing them from exercising their god-given right to be insanely racist and xenophobic on the internet because they were compelled to write dogshit self insert smut about an actor they loved to sexually harass on twitter, and I couldn’t get away from it no matter how many people I blocked or tags I blacklisted because these people would also constantly use my mando gifs on their posts so I would get notifications at least once a week that someone had added my gif to their fanfiction post and it was always titled some bullshit like din fingers you while you’re on your period🥴🥵 AN: hiiiii everyone the reader uses she/her pronouns and is afab but it’s vague enough to be inclusive to all women haha. anyway isnt pedro soooo hot and (insert slur against latinos that was invented in the 70s). and these people would not leave me alone and even sent vaguely threatening anons to the star wars charity zine I was running with mutuals. in conclusion yes this website has hate mail the likes of which you cannot even imagine and no it’s generally not that funny to be on the receiving end of it

FanFiction Recommendations
before I disclose my favorite Pedro Pascal character-related fan fiction here, a few caveats and disclosed biases: I’m a woman of a certain age.  I was your average English lit major.  I’m the dork who - upon listening to Jewel’s debut album and hearing the lyric “you can be Henry Miller and I’ll be Anais Nin” in the mid 1990s  - legit hauled my ass to the local public library and looked up Anais Nin - using the Dewey Decimal system - to read her elevated smut.  Right now I’m a content but exhausted, ragey American woman in a mid-life crisis.  I hate bullshit, I have an ok attention span, I scroll/read after the family’s gone to bed.
if you look at my semi-neglected Tumblr page, you’ll see I’m relatively new to the Pedro fandom.  What a privilege to dive into really superb writing.  This is clearly not an exhaustive list and reflects my tastes (and to each her/his/their own)!  But if you’re an exhausted parent in a mid-life crisis and have no time, this may be for you!
in no particular order...
@fuckyeahdindjarin - masterlist - Cee describes herself as a writer who pens romantic comedies - and she does a stellar job with them - but she sells herself short and fails to mention the sex scenes she writes are hot.  especially love the consent series (dieter bravo), the grays 2-part series (frankie morales), and of course, the ongoing joel miller/pin series.  a delightful mix of angst, sweetness, spice.  and a thoughtful writer with an inclusive mindset.
@absurdthirst - masterlist - if you told me Keri has a few stories published in several “best of erotica” anthologies, I’d believe you.  good smut is fucking hard to write.  this is great smut.  this is smut you read and then take a cold shower afterwards or do whatever it is you like to do to get yourself off.  it’s smut that even as a non-smoker and knowing all the terrible health risks you may think goddamn I need a cigarette.  I'm partial to a few Javier Pena and Agent Whiskey pieces, but you’d be satisfied reading any of her stories.
@something-tofightfor - masterlist - Rachael should give a master class on how to write the best slow burn.  Her Joel Miller stories stand out for several reasons including - 1) she thoughtfully incorporates elements of the original canon/game into her fanfic which is uncommon in the PP fandom (from what I’ve seen/read at least), 2) every Joel story/chapter is compelling and well imagined.  Her current series on Tim Rockford has me on the edge of my seat and I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.  And judging from the titles of her stories, we have similar music tastes (ha!).
@disgruntledspacedad - this writer hasn’t updated in several months, but their Javier Pena multi-chapter fic (and folks, there are MANY out there) called Better Love is the one that kept me going and going and wanting to read more (see mention of short attention span in a tired mama above).  being in the healthcare field, I also arch my eyebrows out of curiosity when someone weaves medical stuff into their writing and wonder what line of work they do.  (yes I'm a terribly biased nerd, I’m a sucker for when someone puts a f!physician reader into their PP-character related drabble).
@jomiddlemarch - she is a great friend and a gifted, amazing writer who always makes me wonder “how does she do this and how does she do this so well and so quickly while the rest of us plebes are just getting through our day.”  she writes for MULTIPLE fandoms (and judging from the notes on her posts, I think her readership is more into those than Pedro and the Last of Us but it’s ok!), and started writing Joel Miller and an OFC (she created!) named Grace Yang (NOT ME - but maybe there’s a chance she created this OFC to shut me up since I’ve been rambling on and on about how besotted I am with Pedro 😂).  If you’re into OFCs, read her stuff.  Check out the (ongoing) entire series on her AO3 here.  Here’s one story that you can find on her Tumblr.  Two of the five stories are Ted Lasso crossovers - all her stories are written so richly and so layered - she’s the star in your writing workshop who’s showing and not telling - I’m still thinking about how there’s so much to unpack in the latest one. :)

may's candid and personal take on fandom
On a more candid note, I’d like to talk more about my experience as a writer in fandom. I spent a long time thinking about this (a better part of the last six months, on and off) as I am usually trying to keep my opinions to myself due to events that are long ago now.
I really need you all to be kinder to writers.
I have been here since sometime around May 2020 and I think it is telling that the fandom circles around the same problems again and again and nothing ever changes.
Interaction is really low and I am not the first writer to lament this, nor will I be the last one but maybe I have this naïve hope that if enough people read the same thing again and again, it will finally stick. I know I haven’t put out content on a regular basis for a long time now but while it is not directly related to the level of interactions these works get, that rhythm will for sure not improve if interaction stays as low as it is. It can be really disheartening to know you have over a thousand followers and the reblogs/comments on your works do not even exceed 50.
Obviously, the way tiktok and fast paced social media work have influenced how we interact with things on all kinds of platforms. But I really need you all to understand that a like on tumblr does not count the way it does on Instagram or maybe even tiktok. That is a bookmark at best. Do I mind if you serial like an entire series of mine? Of course not, I am happy to see that someone is actively reading something of mind and enjoying it. But please have the courtesy to maybe comment on the masterlist or the most recent part.
Fandom is taking and giving and I think it is unfair that it is somehow is expected of writers to pump out story after story without having to give them something (comments, asks, reblogs) for it. And when someone complains about it, suddenly we are deemed as ungrateful to the few that actually read our stuff.
Back in lockdown, there was more of a balance for obvious reasons. But now that I see that writers cannot post as much due to real life or maybe other reasons, it is like the number of notes has diminished across the board. Writers in fandom are people who are not (and cannot be) paid for their works. (Side note: If you accept fanfiction commissions or money for fanfiction, I will find you quicker than the mouse mafia because you will not ruin this for us.) On one hand, the expectation seems to be that writers should update ever single week without fail. On the other hand, it seems too big an ask of readers to actually comment/reblog the things that they read.
(Waiting for a new chapter for weeks, months, hell, even years, was never unusual in fandom spaces and I need this to be more common knowledge.)
Then again, the negativity in fandom has really fucking increased. It comes and goes in wavesand I will not pretend to be affected because I was so inactive this last year. (This is simply a side note but it is something that I think needs more attention: The way I see poc creators treated is despicable and while I do not write for PP characters anymore because of all the drama, people really need to reflect how they see Pedro Pascal as a human being instead of a sex object.)
For me, personally, I have noticed that if I get genuinely angry at something happening on tumblr, it is time for me to log off and really focus on real life and I think it is something that we all should take to heart. Sadly, the more time passes, the more I am convinced that this fandom might not even be worth it anymore and I genuinely understand many creators who decide to leave permanently. It often feels like people are just there to create drama or to vague or that important and serious posts about how we should treat each other and the actors we admire are simply ignored in favour of the “I don’t like drama.” line. Which, like, one is drama and one is not. (Spoiler alert: Discussions on fandom inclusion and racism within fandom are not drama.)
Anyway, Readers need to be more mindful of the power they have over writers and if you want to complain that so many creators have deactivated or become inactive, I would like to ask that you reflect on when was the last time that you commented on someone’s fic.

people would be calling din a child abuser if they weren't thirsty for pedro pascal
for real, the parasocial thirsting for pedro really gave brain rot to a number of his stans. i will never forget the people who tried using his ethnicity to derail posts from poc calling out disney's abysmal mistreatment of temuera in his own show. someone was literally like "why are you pitting two leads of color against each other?" no, we're fucking mad because boba was an indigenous leading man and his last episodes were taken over by the white guy who was created as a blatant rip off of boba. and yet boba is the one whose series was handled so poorly by disney. i will never forgive the showrunners for that. people are constantly bending ass backwards to make excuses for din while shitting on legacy characters who have been iconic for years, calling boba an inferior version of din or luke a baby snatcher or whoever else they need to throw under the bus to prop up their favorite mandalorian. i'm TIRED.
also as a poc, it's so funny seeing several white women in the fandom act like they are woke for stanning din/pedro the white latino. lmao shut up.
Yeah it's incredibly transparent that a lot of star wars fans are racist. The shipping/fanfiction/tumblr side of fandom likes to think that we're so much less racist/sexist than the toxic cishet fanboys you find on reddit and YouTube, because many of us are queer and/or women, but we're REALLY NOT. I'd argue that the most egregious fandom racism against Finn (and John Boyega), Mace Windu, the clones, and Boba Fett has come from US, rather than the YouTube hot take guys. As white fans, it's our responsibility to actively work to make fandom inclusive, otherwise POC actors and fans get silenced or harassed over whichever white blorbo is the flavor of the month.
It's also very telling that Boba lost a lot of his popularity when Lucas revealed that he was a Maori man instead of a white guy. If you play internet fandom historian you can find a ton of racist meltdowns and people complaining that Temuera Morrison wasn't "cool enough" to be Boba Fett, that his voice ruined the character and the old voice was better (even though you could still find plenty of editions where there was no dubbing), etc.
Imagine if they created a replacement of a white character like Han or Anakin or Kylo instead of a brown character like Boba, and then had that expy take over their show halfway through. The fans would have LOST. THEIR. SHIT. Yet Boba, who was so beloved and hyped for so long, suddenly isn't cool anymore when we can see his skin and instead this irrelevant white guy they can more easily project themselves onto/fantasize about being with is just soooooo much more interesting. Never mind that he has his OWN SHOW, he's gotta take over the OG's too. And his job, because obviously Boba can't be a cool bounty hunter going on a lot of different episodic adventures anymore when DIN'S around to do that. Let's just shackle him to Tatooine and follow Din whenever we want to show bounty hunting badassery or Mandalorian culture (which was quite literally invented to be Boba's background).
Also how fucking cool would it be to see BOBA FETT with the DARKSABER. Fans have been fantasizing about Boba with a lightsaber since the fucking Christmas special. Get on it Disney!!!
Thank you for sharing your perspective, I appreciate it!

Drama in the Pedro P. Fandom (Again)
Apparently, there is some kind of drama that's been happening in one of the corners of the Pedro Pascal fandom and I, unfortunately, found out about it because a dear friend was attacked for no fucking reason whatsoever. So let's get a few things straight.
I'm not going to speak on behalf of the Latinx community because I am not part of the community and I have no right to talk on behalf of them so I'll speak as a POC who's part of a community that also tends to be fetishized.
There is a huge difference between fetishizing someone and appreciating them. There is a difference between someone thinking Egyptians and Egyptian Culture is 'exotic' and 'sexy' and 'sensual' and 'different,' etc. and genuinely looking at the many aspects of the culture and realizing how rich it is, whether in terms of religions, practices, clothing style, etc. It's the difference between The Mummy (1999) and Katy Perry's Dark Horse. One went out of its way to be accurate (although it missed some things) while the other was just created for views and because Egypt is exotic.
Now, let's apply it to what's been happening in the Pedro Pascal fandom. And please correct me if I'm wrong.
There is a huge difference between admiring Pedro, his career, his personality, his looks, AND fetishizing him. So far, I've only ever been around blogs that are the former (thankfully). I don't know why but there is this general belief that all RPF and the inclusion of Spanish in fanfiction means that Pedro is being fetishized. Again, someone, please correct me if I'm wrong because I could be and it's important that I correct my views if I'm wrong on something. But the way I look at it, it's a part of him. He's Chilean American. He speaks Spanish when he's angry, sad, happy, annoyed, etc. You can't just not include this in fanfiction. It's the same reason why people write Sebastian Stan speaking Romanian. It's a part of who he is I don't know how else to try and explain this.
So to go around and claim that fanfic writers that are including a part of an individual's trait in fanfiction is racist or allowing for fetishization is just bonkers.
Does that mean that I was fetishizing Ardeth Bay when he spoke Arabic and when I discussed his religion and the practices in Egypt and made him speak in his native language during the smutty scenes? No. You use your first language when you're having a multitude of emotions.
And this is a little off-topic, but you can definitely have a conversation about this without calling names. Without being rude. Without being rude. Be an adult. People are more likely to listen to you if you are speaking in a respectful tone. So no need to be rude.
I'm not sure if I managed to say all of what i wanted to say on here but I'm really just hurt at all of this drama because none of the claims regarding my friend were true in any shape or form and it's disgusting to see how this whole cancel culture bullshit has taken over people's lives to the point where they want to cancel everyone and everything without any proof or any conversation.

Hi, love! You don't have to post this publicly if you don't want to, but I wanted to thank you for the way you answered that anon about Omera. It's something I've been wanting to acknowledge for a while but felt as if it wasn't my place to. You put it perfectly. It's been a shame to see a canonical ship not get its due acknowledgement just because of the self-insert culture surrounding Mando specifically and POC issues (meaning, white views of POC). Sending you so much love! 🤍
No problem! I think there is a big issue with the pedro Pascal fandom is having a very big self-insert culture around it. Which specifically isnt a bad thing! Nobody should be ashamed for enjoying and writing fanfiction, but the issues goes with ignoring the issues that creators of color have with the fandom so much to the point that many of them have begun to leave so the majority of those who stay in the fandom see no issue with alot of the problems others try to bring attention to, because those that try are often slammed with anon hate and told "its not a big deal" because they dont see it as such (ie are probably white so if it doesnt relate to them directly they dont care) because I've seen countless times when people in this group write something that is very out of line ajd insensitive, alienates reader when they claim do be inclusive or use phrases such as "jungle fever" and other racial-fetish terms to describe their attraction to pedro. And instead of acknowledging the issues with it, apologizing and moving forward to change the behavior, they make no comment or claim those pointing out the issue with this mentality is bullying and harassment, so that they never have to actually realize that they are capable of doing something wrong.

Thank you for all the recs and submissions! It’s how we keep our blog active and find new writers and artists to reblog.
Please just read over these quick guidelines before sending in anything!
We accept fic, art, author and artist recs! Recs can be sent in the inbox or feel free to tag us using our @ here (@inclusivepedrolibrary) and/or the hashtag #inclusive Pedro library
Please be and rec 18+ blogs only! We do not allow minors here!
Please only send in one fic rec at a time! If submitting short drabbles you can send up to 3, but since we take the time to read them to screen for inclusiveness and we do this on our spare time, multiple recs get very overwhelming very quickly. Also please be patient with us in posting your recs as well.
Any Pedro character is acceptable, including thruples with other characters. Reader insert, oc fics and ships are all welcome but No RPF (real people fic).
Please make sure any recs sent in are all correctly and completely tagged and labeled. Anything submitted without proper warnings will not be posted.
While everyone is more than welcome to send in recs from any blog, we highly encourage sending in recs from poc and other underrepresented groups.
Art is also accepted and welcome as long as it does not depict reader as white. Examples of inclusive art include: using a shadow to represent reader, using several different skin tones, not using skin tone or any indicators at all, or showing reader as poc or plus size.
Do not harass or send hate to anyone listed on our page. Anyone caught being racist/homophobic/etc will be blocked.
Please reblog writers and artists! Reblogging is how this site works and how posts get seen! We highly encourage to reblog a post for every rec you send in to keep posts circulating!
Please note we reserve the right not to share your submissions if they are found not to be inclusive.

Long time no see!
Sorry for the silence on this blog the last few months! The mods all got busy with life and stuff and this blog kinda fell to the side for a while but we want to get this blog active again!
We will start adding things to the queue soon and also post some inclusive resources and stuff for reference. There's also going to be a slight change to the blog so keep an eye out for that very soon!
Recs are now open as well, just please follow the submission guidelines for sending in any recs! Just to note though, while this blog will reblog and rec any authors/artists, we strive to focus on poc and queer writers/artists since they are more overlooked in the fandom.
Find a fic is also an option here too if there's a fic you lost or anything and want any help finding it!
