Are you named for anyone? Nope, not really. I have a name I might switch to irl, which is my name here, Lif. So really I just named myself after the human woman who survived Ragnarok by sleeping through it.
When was the last time you cried? Last night at midnight. I had to hold in my sobs so hard, and it was literally just over a character death. It really hits me.
Do you have kids? Does a very needy kitty boy count? I'm on mom duty with him for hours every day, and I lost sleep in high school doing all the mom stuff: feeding him, burping him, giving him medicine, giving him baths, reading to him so he could sleep okay, singing him to sleep (these were all vet recommended, and they helped his temperament a lot [he's mentally ill]). I do want kids someday. Almost had one in 2020. I still think about her, especially as May is coming up, and she was supposed to be born then. I don't bring this up to make anyone sad, or feel pity. It's just, part of my life, you know?
What sports do/have you played? Archery!! I haven't been able to do it since an injury in 2013 (yes, I realize this happened forever ago at this point), but it was fun. I should maybe try getting back into it. The lanes are expensive though, and I would need a lot of good places to sit down in between shooting.
Do you use sarcasm? That I do.
What's the first thing you notice about people? Same as sindar-princeling, I think. Probably the facial expressions. Next I look for something to compliment them on.
What's your eye colour? Really dark brown.
Scary movies or Happy endings? I feel like these are not opposite ends of a spectrum or anything. I want to say happy endings, but my favorite Star Wars movies are the tragedies: Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One, The Siege of Mandalore.
Any talents? Oh heck yes! I can play the clarinet, sing, compose, act, write, cat photography (trust me, it is a talent and a skill), edit pictures, and bake (I'm better than average at decorating though, but still kinda suck at it).
Where were you born? New England, USA.
What are your hobbies? Right now it's mostly reading, watching TV and movies, listening to music, playing video games, and writing.
Do you have any pets? I have 2! A maine coon girl named Alley Cat who will be turning 17 this Saturday! She's so silly, and a sweetie, and just full of love. Sometimes she annoys me because she thinks I'm her littermate (we were kids at the same time). She also still snurgles (suckling while kneading at the same time)!! And she loves food. She’s just so stunning and adorable. And then there's Loki! That's my baby boy. He picked me to be his mommy when I was 15. I've been there for him through almost everything (sadly couldn't be there for a scary hospitalization when I was in college a few states over). He's silly, he's lovable and loves giving love, he loves kissies, he likes to be brushed, he loves making biscuits. He loves playtime, and he loves getting into trouble. I have the best kitties.
How tall are you? 5'4 (I still want to cry about somehow growing an inch in my early twenties)
Favourite subject in school? PHYSICS AND BAND!!!
Dream job? I really don't know anymore. I wanted to be a professional clarinet player, but that couldn't happen, I wanted to be an actor, but that wasn't able to happen, I wanted to be an editor: again, nope. Screenwriter? Maybe? Author? I don't know anymore.
And here are my kitties!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alley is on the left, and Loki is on the right. I forgot to mention that he’s an American Ringtail.

I feel like... a lot of people, and a lot of therians, don't really understand cladotherianthropy. They know the definition because it's in all the glossaries and alterhuman dictionaries but they don't actually read about first-hand experiences of cladotherians and how our identities actually function. Beyond the definition.
This got away from me a bit so I'm putting a cut.
Cladotherianthropy, for a very large swathe of us, does not actually entail "identifying as every single species in a clade." I mean, it does, technically, but folks see the definition and think "oh, so like, a canine cladotherian equally identifies and labels themself as and has shifts of as literally every species of canine down to the most specific and obscure. So if someone is every kind of canine except a red fox, they can't call themself a cladotherian." And on a purely practical level, that's not really how it works for a lot of us.
I am a Musteloidea cladotherian, and when I say that, people leave with the impression that I somehow juggle the shifts of all 89 extant musteloid species without getting overwhelmed, that I feel like and identify as and like being called all 89 competing labels equally, and there is not a one among those 89 that I feel like "less" than the others and especially not one I don't feel like at all. Because that's not what the dictionary definition says.
My musteloid identity is not 89 distinct little fully formed theriotypes. It's more like a big shape. I am a big, fluid, shifting shape of musteloid vibes, musteloid shifts, musteloid instincts, and musteloid identities. It spreads out and encompasses the whole clade, but that's why we have the word "cladotype" -- it's not 89 theriotypes, it's one, one animal. There are definitely, absolutely some species I don't really identify as. Most cladotherians would admit the same. It's a wide net but it's not gonna catch every fish in the sea. Example: I'm not really a kinkajou. (That's a type of procyonid, raccoon relative, for the uninformed.) Don't really have kinkajou shifts, don't really like the label as much as I like others I identify with stronger, don't really see myself as one or feel like one the way I feel like a raccoon or a coati or ringtail cat. I'm still a cladotherian.
I see variations of this question asked all the time: "I'm a [big cat/fox/echinoderm] cladotherian, but is it ok if I don't feel like I'm a [lion/Tibetan sand fox/cyrtocrinid]?" Most cladotherians have a few or, depending on the size of their clade, possibly many species they don't identify as or at least as much. If the fox cladotherian was every fox except a Tibetan sand fox, what are they supposed to do? Have 36 theriotypes? No, they are welcome in cladotherian spaces, they always have been. This even goes for if they only identify as 20 fox species -- if they feel like their kintype is cladistic in nature, they do not have 20 fox theriotypes, they have 1 fox cladotype.

Fifteen questions for fifteen mutuals - tagged by @slightnettles - sorry it took me so long to get to this! It's been a crazy past few weeks.
1. Are you named after anyone?
Not really, unless you count the Biblical character (which was a definite inspiration to my parents, but they were more set on the meaning rather than any namesakes).
2. When was the last time you cried?
Oh I don't remember honestly. Recently, but not recently enough for me to remember an exact instance. I probably have something pent up in here that I need to get out.
3. Do you have kids?
No. :) just three cats.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Nah /s (though I do use it less than I used to).
5. What sports do you play/have played?
None actually. I have really fucked up joints & my family weren't big on getting any of their girls into sports (boys played basketball). I did a bit of archery and also just the mandatory swim lessons as a kid. These days I do really enjoy outdoor activities like hiking but I don't do it as often as I'd like.
6. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Vibes first, usually how anxious or confident they are.
7. What's your eye colour?
Blue.
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
Both! Though I'm less of a horror person and more of a terror person. As for happy endings, I don't have a preference. I only ask that the ending is thematically satisfying.
9. Any special talents?
I make really good pickles.
10. Where were you born?
In hospital. I am capable of killing macbeth & was the smallest baby ever to come home from that particular hospital. Weirdly not early, just a lot of complications.
11. What are you hobbies?
Reading, writing, art, and gaming mostly -- anything with survival mechanics, or RPGs, but also a big fan of certain civ sims like Rimworld or Frostpunk.
12. Do you have pets?
Yes! I have an orange tabby, a grayish tabby, and a ringtail tabby (her tail curls over her back like a husky). I also would like to eventually get some fish.
13. How tall are you?
somewhere around 4'9"-4'10" (144-147cm. can't remember exactly which).
14. Favorite subject in school?
History, easy.
15. Dream job?
Author, eventually. I'd like to go the trad publishing route with some of my work, though maybe not all of it.

Hey beloved mutual I heard you were offering Lemur Facts? :3 What habitat/s are lemurs happiest in, and what are their favorite foods? I know they hang out in trees but not much else about them, so if you have any other random Favorite Lemur Facts that you know I'd be delighted to learn from you!
YES MORE LEMUR FACTS
I answered the favorite foods one in a previous ask and I'm too lazy to type it again (lo siento)
All lemurs are pretty solidly arboreal but Madagascar is Wild and has all sorts of biomes to choose from. Sifakas imo have the easiest time adapting because of the way they leap, they can still travel across flat land a lot faster.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favoritest fact is that Blue Eyed Black Lemurs (Flavifrons) are sexually dimorphic- the boys have black fur and the girls have reddish fur, and that fur color is entirely hormone based! The more estrogen a Flavifrons is producing, the lighter her coat will be! You can see with these two examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My other favorite fact is that Ruffed Lemurs make a sound that sounds exactly like ghasts from Minecraft, and Ringtail Lemurs sound like my cat Sophie. Also all lemurs grunt like little piggies when they're curious or interested in something.

Hello. I'm trying to figure out my friend's daemon. Could you highlight a few differences between the Cacomistle and Vontsira? He's an INTP 5w6 593. Thanks.
of course! i love doing comparisons. the vontsira and cacomistle are fantastic forms for the INxP 5/6. though these two species visually look very similar, they're phylogenetically quite distinct: the vontsira (all of its species, which i'll break down too) is feliform closely related to mongooses, and the cacomistle is a viverroid closely related to ringtails. nature loves a good noodley carnivore! the cacomistle is a single species (bassariscus sumichrasti) while the vontsira is a subfamily (galidiinae) that includes the ring-tailed vontsira, broad-striped malagasy mongoose, grandidier's mongoose, narrow-striped mongoose, durrell's vontsira, and brown-tailed mongoose. i based the vontsira result in the quiz on the ring-tailed vontsira (galidia elegans), but you may be interested in these others as well.
openness & conscientiousness the cacomistle is going to be rather flexible and open-minded, though only when they make the decision to be. they guard their routines and sense of independence, though they tend to be inventive and curious as well as willing to branch out when needed. in my opinion this is a cardinal musteloid trait: raccoons, coatis, and even kinkajous and ringtail cats are all adaptable and curious forms, and the cacomistle as well is going to be someone who's opportunistic and resourceful. they maintain rather large territories, have adaptable diets, and are comfortable in a variety of biomes within their limited range. cacomistles are also rather diligent and precise, the sort person who needs to do something right for it to be worth doing at all. they're patient and perceptive, sensitive to external factors forcing decisions or change upon them but otherwise logical and adaptable. to compare these to the vontsiras:
the ring-tailed vontsira is similarly adaptable within its comfort zone and is also an ambush predator, thus prioritizing patience and perception. their energy is more spontaneous rather than the precision and shyness of the cacomistle; the ring-tailed vontsira is going to be the most open-minded and flexible of all the vontsiras while still being rather environmentally sensitive. overall they're rather curious but uncommitted and the type of people who appreciate problem-solving and investigating issues. they're also quite bold and will readily raid human camps. honestly i see more INFP 6 in these guys, Fi/Ne does seem more fitting for them but i definitely wouldn't discourage your friend from considering them.
the others in this subfamily i think are going to better fit the INTP. the brown-tailed mongoose and durrell's vontsira, for example, are both going to be more aloof and selectively adaptable like the cacomistle. the durrell's vontsira is a marsh-dwelling species that has an adaptable but limited diet in their habitat; the brown-tailed mongoose is a forest-dwelling species that is predominantly and insectivore. both of these species are less of generalists than the ring-tailed vontsira and enjoy a degree of specialty; they're even less motivated to go outside of their comfort zone than the cacomistle, and overall are rather routine-oriented and appreciate depth rather than breadth. the grandidier's mongoose is going to span the range of these two. they're nocturnal foragers who adapt strongly to environmental changes; they may have more of a busybody energy and roll well with the punches in their comfort zone.
extraversion & agreeableness the cacomistle is an independent and aloof individual, though they tend to be more unobtrusive than fiercely private and aggressive. their priority is maintaining a sense of comfort and they resist the idea of unexpected change; it's easiest for them to focus on their own needs and goals without integrating others. while normally they prefer to avoid conflict, a cacomistle individual will find their voice when under pressure and is willing to be communicative to protect their boundaries. these people may actually be surprisingly adamant and vocal when upset, contrary to how withdrawn they are typically. while cacomistles are solitary outside of the breeding season, we can translate this in human behavior to someone who's more introverted, typically private with their intentions, and feels most in touch with themselves when alone. however evidence from captive cacomistles and during their breeding season shows that these animals are also rather socially tolerant, indicating that perhaps someone with this daemon is more long-fused and flexible and communicative when pushed.
the vontsiras range in their social preference. the ring-tailed vontsira is more social and has a playful reputation; they engage in a variety of conspecific behavior, evidencing that the ring-tailed vontsira individual is going to be someone more gregarious even if they strongly value their personal perspective. they are solitary or will aggregate in family groups consisting of a monogamous pair and young offspring. they are therefore are likely rather devoted and even cliquish when it comes to their social circle, valuing consistency in their social group even if they prefer to work and plan more independently. this person is going to be comfortable alone or with a select group of others; they have a strong sense of self and are openly hierarchical and communicative.
the brown-tailed mongoose and durrell's vontsira are both more introverted while still sociable. there's relatively little research on the durrell's vontsira as a newly-discovered species, though if they're similar to the brown-tailed mongoose, they also hold tight home ranges and are found in pairs or more rarely alone. though more socially tolerant than the cacomistle, these two species are likely socially selective like the ring-tailed vontsira while also being more shy and independent. the grandidier’s mongoose also more social like the ring-tailed vontsira and displays a high degree of loyalty and dedication in its pair bond; if one grandidier's mongoose is caught in a trap, its traveling companion will wait for it and not move on. in summary, vontsiras are going to be more sociable than the cacomistle or at least more willing to cooperate and emotionally depend on others.
neuroticism neither the cacomistle nor the vontsira are known for their confidence, though i would hesitate to describe either of these species as overly anxious and ruminating. i would describe the cacomistle as well as the brown-tailed mongoose and durrell's vontsira as more guarded people; these three species are going to be more cautious, particularly the two vontsiras which are extreme specialists and don't do well outside of that immediate comfort zone. the environmental sensitivity of all of these species though particularly the madagascan vontsiras is going to lend itself to some degree of anxiety, though how these species mitigate everyday concerns is going to differ. as a musteloid, the cacomistle tends to be focused and resourceful, both sure of their strengths and perceptive enough that they can catch problems in advance and adapt. the ring-tailed vontsira is more of a bold generalist and good at picking up and trying different opportunities to make ends meet. the brown-tailed and durrell's vontsiras again have less research on them but appear to be avoidant particularly in the face of invasive threats like introduced species and feral cats/dogs, so these may be people who have that viverrid stubbornness but are more withdrawing and cautious. and the grandidier's mongoose is an interesting example as they are quite docile and tamable -- perhaps actually the most easygoing of the group, or are least secure in their adaptability.
overall the cacomistle strikes me as the most INTP 5w6: they value their own abilities, are open-minded problem-solvers, and tend to be cautious and survival-focused species. i see a lot of TiNe in their hunting strategies and adaptability, how they tend to be perceptive and curious while also showing flexible behavior to maximize outcome. however i'd love to know your friend's thoughts! :)

Have your sons ever thought of having a pet?
A dog or an active animal might nice for Bobby's chaotic energy 24/7 as it could keep up with him.
A cat would make a house a bit more quiet and calm which would relief stress that everyone has, scientifically proven that cats can relief stress.
A snake if you disagree with furry animals getting fur on everything, Hacker might like a long one to freak people out or a small noddle to pick in his pocket.
I'm just thinking that everyone should have a comfort buddy :]
Bobby adores cats. I have thought of him getting one actually, Hacker might own a snake. I haven't decided if I want one of those running around just yet.
But a Cat would be nice for all three of us, considering Bobby likes cats and there maybe cats to hackers liking. I would personally prefer a big, fluffy one like a Mainecoon. I was thinking of getting Bobby a gray Ringtail and Hacker a tuxedo.

I'm asking about about your two kitties
Wow, there are so many places I can go with this question, mostly because I love my cats so much.
Okay, I have some window pics for you!
Here's Alley Cat! She's a 12 lb Maine Coon mix, and she's such a sweetie. She loves lap time, she loves to lick, she loves having someone pet her while she eats. Though she has been a bit crazy since she passed 13 years old (she's 15). Sometimes she just runs around the apartment and yells. No reason for it other than she wants to do it. She's really dramatic and tends to hate cameras. It's hard to get good pictures of her. She'll glare as soon as a phone comes out. Also, in that picture, totally weird that she went in my room. She never does that.
Tumblr media
And here's the boy! Loki! He's an American Ringtail, the runt of his litter, 9 lbs, sickly, but somehow buff, and he loves to play, and he loves kisses, and he makes sure everyone knows that his bedtime (and mine) is at 9:00 PM. His favorite food is salmon, he loves to play with bouncy balls, and this morning he bit me right under my nose instead of just giving me a kiss. It hurt! He still gave me kisses after though. (And then proceeded to give me another love bite.) He absolutely loves getting his picture taken. He'll do so many different poses. Oh, and great thing about him (and also weird for a cat)? He loves belly rubs and kisses!

It's weird how, since so many of my theriotypes eat fruit in the wild, different fruit will bring about different species feelings. There doesn't seem to be a rule about it. It gets so specific but always without reason.
Persimmons are a major raccoon food. I eat a persimmon and I'm completely a raccoon. Same with papayas. Kiwis and dragonfruit are ringtail cat fruits, but kiwi berries are coati. Cape gooseberries and bananas are both opossum fruits. Plums and blueberries are raven fruits. I haven't been able to make sense of it yet.

Loved the fic snippet! Interesting to think about how deamons would play into pro wrestling.
Please please please could you share you deamon headcanons
I'm super curious now ☺️
Sure!!! I love talking abt my ideas I’m gonna do some general stuff and then under the cut is a list of all the daemons I’ve matched so far but up here
- There’s a couple different camps in terms of daemons in wrestling: in earlier like hard kayfabe era in the states hardly anyone showed their daemon, this changes somewhat with the advent of the internet and social media making hiding your daemon harder.
- there’s some people who fully embrace their daemon as a part of the gimmick, I imagine Danhausen entering and opening his cape and his little bat flying out
- as I wrote there’s other people who prefer not to show theirs off, for any number or reasons.
- separation, while more common in the pool of people who wrestle than the rest of the population, remains sort of taboo, though people can be understanding with the nature of the job
Mox- Bulldog “Tegan”
Bryan Danielson- ball python
Wheeler Yuta- American marten “Andi”
Claudio- Lucerne gold collar dove
Danny Garcia- tarantula hawk wasp
Eddie Kingston-hyena “Lola”
Orange-ginger kitty “Julius”
Chuck- I’m always torn between a black bear and the most average medium sized dog you can imagine
Trent- green anole. Hear me out. Lizard that does push ups.
Kris- American alligator
Hangman- collie mix “Goldenrod”
Danhausen- hoary bat “Pantaleon”
MJF- sand cat (I like it contrasting his lion tatt and lion imagery with a cat that is much smaller but also much more effective as a predator than a lion)
Rey Fenix- domestic shorthair cat white with brown tabby patches
Penta- black jaguar
Pac- river otter
Matt and Nick intentionally obfuscate whose daemon is whose, partly because they’re brothers and they’re that comfortable handling the literal embodiment of their souls.
Matt- Jackrabbit “Reese”
Nick- ringtail “Eloise”
