Updates, Apologies, and Moving Forward!
Hello everyone! I am not dead, and this blog is not dead. I know I've been gone for a very long time again, and I'm very sorry.
I had to say goodbye to my cat, my emotional support animal, my baby. I won't say too much here, but she was suffering, and unfortunately there was nothing that could be done. My mental health is fragile at the best of times, and while I am okay and safe, it has been a difficult few months for me. I am also a full-time college student with a job, so all of my free hours were spent in grief.
It's taken me a while to feel alright enough to come back, but here I am. I'm still passionate about queer representation in media, and I want to continue to share queer characters with the tumblr community.
Starting tomorrow, I will resume the 8 times a day posting schedule that I was starting to utilize before my disappearance, as queueing posts makes my life much easier.
I'm sorry if I don't respond to notes or asks left during my break. It's a lot to sort through and I value community engagement on this blog more than anything but I am just one person and I can only do so much. Feel free to re-send asks!
Going forward, I'll be making a few changes. I am working on a publicly available google sheet of all characters that have been posted on this blog with results that I will link in a visible place so that people wanting to submit a character can (hopefully) quickly search to make sure that character hasn't been posted yet. I also will eventually be looking for another mod, although that will not be until the summer and I will make more posts when the time comes.
I will personally be awol for the last few weeks of may and the first few weeks of june due to a job opportunity out of the country, but I am intending to have queued posts continuing to upload at the regular schedule during that time. Unfortunately this means I won't be able to edit mistakes or answer questions, but hopefully any issues can be addressed when I return.
Thank you all for your patience, I'm sorry that this radio silence has gone on for so long, but I've thought about this blog a lot during my absence and I'm certain that it's not a project I'm giving up on any time soon.

Hey all!
It's been a very long time since I made a post on this blog (I do keep an eye on everything from afar) but I wanted to share something really cool and very special that happened!
Over the weekend I went to MCM Comic Con in London and I had the privilege of meeting Andrew Scott (I still can't quite believe it!)
He was so SO lovely and the entire experience was just amazing. I got to gush about how much I love his work and how much it helped me through some of my own life experiences being Bi and Trans - he listened so intently to everything I had to say and asked me so many questions, it was just wonderful to have that time with him and I feel very lucky.
After we had a chat he signed the beautiful print above for me and took such care in writing me a lovely message that just really warmed my heart. He really is just such a wonderful caring person and I will pass on to you all what he said to me as I left his table: "Don't stop making your tribe bigger." Surround yourself with people who can support you and who you can support in turn, love people and be loved because there can never be too much love in the world. I know how kind-hearted you all are, and I couldn't be more thankful for this little space we've created in our corner of the internet.
Thank you all.
Love and Hugs,
Max

MY BEAUTIFUL PROOF LIES ALL IN RUINS.
Headcanon ; a ( somewhat ) brief explanation on the work and pursuits of safin’s family
1960s: The birth of a pharmaceutical enterprise nurtured in the city of Kazan's lively industry was promising as soon as it was conceived. Gostan Safin, a young and passionate chemist, had built up a chemical enterprise after the ban on the private business sector in the USSR was lifted in 1964, leaving the field in shambles. Though it was a legitimate production cooperative on paper, much of Gostan's association thrived on the shadow economy and black market that had quickly inflated during the ten years that the private ban was in place. Gostan worked with other individual entrepreneurs in this cooperation and refined raw materials to be sold back to the state. The enterprise was unique in that it saw the product move through its entire life cycle: from the germination, growth and harvesting of the source plants to their refinement into several products of various uses.
/
1970s: The enterprise quickly rose to high prominence and prospered financially during its early years in the Brezhnev Era. Soon enough, due to policy changes, national stagnation kicked off in 1975 and Gostan and his associates made the move to begin producing not only medicines but now bio-weaponry for the state. This decision was made after they saw that the industry had been prioritised and military spending was skyrocketing as the Cold War continued. This is where he made most of his profit — chemical warfare. Around this time Safin began supplying SPECTRE, an international terrorist organisation, with various poisons and chemical products.
/
1980s: By the time Lyutsifer was a young child, the Soviet economy had taken a drastic dip to rock bottom. Failed reforms and political turmoil saw the USSR in its Era of Stagnation. Times were tough for the Soviet people, though it was especially difficult for industries that hadn't capitalised off the spike in arms and heavy industry demand. The enterprise's profits slowed, but, fortunately, it survived off its various connections as a weaponry supplier.
/
1990s: The USSR's turbulent history came to an end in 1991. The Russian Federation took its place and immediately began moving towards a market economy once again. Foreign trade was properly reinstated and the privatisation of state enterprises completely changed how the new Russian society would function. Assassinations and corruption became commonplace in Russian businesses after state enterprise stocks were released, essentially redirecting large sums of money that had once belonged to the community into the hands of a select few people. Gostan's former partners whom had primarily been involved with the business in order to avoid being prosecuted by the Soviet government seemed to either mysteriously fall ill or leave the country, fading into the background and leaving one man as the victor. Safin maintained his iron grip on the enterprise and remained in his position as the sole executive, immediately buying out the now available stocks and investing in foreign assets and watching as profits soared. Many of his produced poisons were used by the state in assassinations and cover-ups that occurred around this time of uncertainty.
Though profits were at an all-time high, inflation in Russia was as well. Gostan had become somewhat of a business oligarch, leading the chemical industry in Russia as profits landed in the billions and found himself with more power and influence than he had ever thought possible. Unfortunately, his reign came to a swift end as he and the majority of his family were killed by SPECTRE with poisons of his own creation under Ernst Blofeld's command in 1994. The murders were painted publicly as an accident, and Lyutsifer was left seriously damaged and hospitalized — the only one alive.
/
2000s: Lyutsifer Gostanovna Safin, having been sixteen at the time of the incident and hospitalized for nearly the entire year of 1995, was in no shape to continue his father's legacy, so it sat in limbo. Having been the youngest of four, he was never prepared for such a task, aspiring towards more academic and humanistic pursuits under the assumption that his older brother, Vadim, would take over the company when it was time. Unfortunately, it seemed that if Lyutsifer didn't take up his father's enterprise, the assets would be lost to someone else, essentially ruining what his family had dedicated their lives to. Pressured by this, in 2001 at the age of twenty - three he had formally become the company's overseer, just as his father had been.
It was obvious that running his father's company had never been his desire, and the enterprise adopted a group-based administration in order to let it function more autonomously. Investments were put back into chemical warfare and quietly produced for multiple foreign powers. All ties were cut with SPECTRE and it seemed that Lyutsifer had decided to cease any sort of involvement with the group. Their conflict would remain a secret.
Despite his introverted and idiosyncratic nature, the youngest Safin proved himself to be a calculated and effective businessman. His father had been a charismatic socialite, and it was to that of which he owed much of his success. He knew how to lead a group and turn a deal in his favour. His son would take an approach with less of a social factor, running the company covertly and making appearances only when it was needed. Instead of being respected for his confidence and likeable nature akin to the man before him, he was a quiet leader; not a necessarily meek one, but a sort of unseen draconian power that commanded silent respect.
