b.katsuki x reader ; m.izuku x reader — bakugou cheats on his gf, with midoriya's girlfriend.
☆– warnings; ANGST. swear words, cheating.
☆– i got inspired to write this angst while i was watching Grey's Anatomy, SPOILER ALERT, the episode where Alex leaves Jo and goes back with Izzy.
☆– okay, so, in this blog, we support old, grown up, calmed down mineta. i read a fanfic once (i can't remember the name! ill try to find it🙈) where mineta had cooled down his thirst for women and became a great friend (still with the double meaning of things, but funny actually), and i thought "okay, if we accept redeemed bakugou, we can accept redeemed mineta". in fanfiction, cuz he's still a stupid, hormonal kid in the manga/anime. so expect more cool mineta bestie here, cuz i like and enjoy double meaning humor. if it's not your cup of tea, you're welcome not to read this🤍
Tumblr media
It takes a second, a breath, the entrance of air on your lungs to realize. To assimilate what happened, what it means.
"I brought a bottle of wine, some snacks and ice cream… Nothing heals the heart better than ice cream, talking about personal experience here," his voice says, but you're barely paying attention. You even saw him come into your apartment like it's his own, like he has done it thousands of times. But you don't leave your standing position by the door.
You saw the silhouette of Mineta, tall and broad shoulders through the peephole of the entrance door, and for a second you thought it was him. Even though they look nothing alike. But you thought… you wished it was him.
Bakugou Katsuki.
Reality hurts.
Reality… is a bitch.
It takes a second to blink, to watch how everything changes, how everything falls apart in the simple action of closing and opening one's eyes.
You never thought it would happen to you. You thought he was it for you. You thought Bakugou Katsuki was going to be the one true love of your life. You trusted him. You gave him years of your life. Years where you thought he was the most amazing thing that ever happened to you. Years where you gave up dreams to help and support him in his dreams. And how does he thank you? Cheating. Choosing somebody else over you. Choosing her over you.
"I also heard hooking up with someone else also helps," Mineta jokes, snorting at his own ridiculous words. You know he is joking, he is your best friend and he has always joked this way. You know it. But… the heaviness in your chest doesn't know it. The pain in your heart doesn't know it.
"I'm not offering though… Don't take it personal, love. I love you and you're one the hottest hotties around here, but you're not exactly my type." He chuckles, taking the things he brought on bags over the counter of your kitchen.
You can see him from your position because it's not that far away, your apartment isn't big. When you and Bakugou went apartment hunting two months ago, you didn't want anything big and ostentatious. You simply wanted a home, whether that be a one room apartment.
It had been a home... Or so you thought.
Now, this apartment feels like a prison. A cell where it doesn't hold enough oxygen to breathe. Where every single corner reminds you of him. Where every single item and thing picked to decorate or to use, spoke about him. Him and you.
And there wasn't a "him and you" anymore.
Everything was a reminder of what him and you were.
There fucking isn't a "him and you" anymore.
"He left me," you breathe out, hand trembling over the doorknob.
Mineta turns around then. He sees you, shaking by the closed door at the entrance of your apartment. Hand holding the doorknob with strength, like your whole body depends on that contact to not fall apart. But your face… He has never seen you like this.
It's blank. And it's full of sentiment, emotions that hurt to actually see. Dark circles under your eyes. The skin of your face is pale, almost like a sick person; and that worries him. You're barely holding everything inside.
You are barely looking like your usual self.
Your breathing starts to agitate when you let go of the doorknob and turn your body a bit towards his direction. Then, your eyes find his.
"He… He just left me… And I–... I can't… I can't breathe," you finally cry.
You haven't cried since he confessed he had cheated on you with his ex-girlfriend, Uraraka Ochako. And that he has been doing it for three months. You did cry in that moment, but you haven't done it again. Not even when you broke the news to Mineta two days after–if you could describe your best friend's reaction, it would be murderous. It had been the first time you had seen Mineta Minoru that furious–. And you haven't even cried when you told Midoriya Izuku about what his actual girlfriend had been doing with your now ex-boyfriend. You remembered watching clearly the slow break of the number one Pro Hero's heart right through his eyes.
You haven't cried again until now.
Why? Because today, you woke up to a message that said: "I'll pick up my stuff and leave the key at the apartment. I'll go in the morning when you're at work so I don't bother you." When you came back from work at 5pm today, Bakugou Katsuki had done as he promised. His clothes were no longer there, just more space for you to hang and organize your clothes. His computer set-up was no longer there, just an empty desk that you could use as your little home office. His shoes were no longer by the door, just empty space that you didn't know how to fill up.
The apartment is small, but it feels huge now that his things are no longer there.
You immediately texted Mineta: "S.O.S.", and it didn't take even an hour for him to appear with all this stuff he bought to make you feel better.
As you finally broke down on your knees, sobbing uncontrollably like you couldn't bring enough air to your lungs, Mineta knew any silly thing he could bring would be able to help you heal.
Because the only one able to heal this pain inside you… is yourself.
But you're broken now. And Mineta's heart breaks with yours.
As he kneels beside you and holds you in his arms, he prays his friendship is enough to help you put yourself back together. And if not, Mineta prays to whatever exists up there that they send someone that can help you heal your heart with the devotion you deserve.
As you cry in your best friend's chest, you don't hear the little sound of a new notification on your phone. It's a message, that says:
"Hi, Y/N. It's Midoriya… I was just thinking that… only if you want to, if not it's okay… we could go grab a coffee together sometime. Just if you feel like it. Just… let me know if you want."

Hi! Pre-emptive sorry for the long ask- I don't know if you've answered this before but I was scrolling through your blog and in one of your posts you note that the brief bit we see of Akira's hometown has high rise buildings, which implies it's a city. I could've sworn there was in game dialogue calling him a country boy though or referencing him being from a rural area? Is there something in the Japanese text to suggest these are meant to be taken as jokes (I.E. protag is from a city, but it's not as big as Tokyo so he's playfully considered 'rural') or is this a case of the game devs simply not considering what buildings they had in the background of that scene?
Hello! First of all, I think it's insanely unlikely that the game devs just forgot Joker was meant to be from a shack on top of a mountain and accidentally put him in a city. Maybe they didn't have time to design a farm and shoved him in a random cityscape instead? Well, maybe. I would at least have pasted in a couple more trees.
So what do we know about this?
Sojiro calls Joker 田舎もん inakamon, short for 田舎者 inakamono—someone from the countryside; someone provincial. This is what's translated as "country boy", or "country bumpkin". Chihaya uses it about herself, and Chihaya I think is certainly meant to be very rural. The Adorable Woman and Rural Young Man in Shibuya Station use inaka a lot:
Tumblr media
His name did not originally use inakamono or similar, by the way—he's the 上京してきた青年 joukyou shite kita seinen, "the young man who's moved to Tokyo". Note the moving-up kanji there, 上, lol—this is not a sideways move, it's a definite move up.
so what is the inaka?
In short, the inaka can be the remote countryside—but it can also just be your hometown, of any description. It can be legit anywhere that isn't Tokyo. Here's Tofugu:
My mouth was hanging open and I know I was being rude, but it was really hard to pull myself together. The woman I was speaking with was from one of the top Japanese Universities. She has had international relationships, traveled the world, and done work that most foreign anime fans would kill to see. Someone with her experiences, to me, should be open-minded about other cultures and lifestyles. Just the same, I can't help but to be bothered by what she said: "I feel like anything outside Tokyo's 23 wards is inaka." [...] Often, people usually just use what they read in the dictionary, but I learned fast that "countryside" in American English is much different than in Japanese English. For me, countryside means farms. Countryside is driving to see your closest neighbor, riding tractors for work and pleasure, and being able to immediately tell who's from your town just by looking at them. When I say this to Japanese people and ask them to explain inaka, the joke is always the same: "Inaka is anything outside of Tokyo." Osaka and Kyoto, for many, aren't inaka, but Sapporo, which is one of the few parts of the country where this legendary thing called "insulated housing" exists, is inaka. [...] So you might be wondering how "bad" it really is out here. Truthfully, I'm living in a city, at least by American standards. Great bus and train systems, tons of malls and movie theaters, some of the major stores people visit Tokyo to see, game centers, golfing… and a few rice paddies. Not many, but there are some. Imagine a fashionable mall, famous manga store, well-respected school with a strong baseball team, and major supermarket, all within walking distance, with maybe one field of rice. Honestly, the place is so city that I don't think I would willingly eat any rice that grew in that field. I swear, it's in front of a bus stop.
So, tl;dr: if you aren't in Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto, you're probably in the inaka—at least to someone's mind. You can be somewhere that looks to us in every way like a city, and be in the inaka. And if you pick up sticks and move to Tokyo? Then you have a good chance of being jibed about being a "country boy".
so what is joker's inaka like?
[Joker] 田舎に帰りたい inaka ni kaeritai I miss the country... [lit. I want to go back to the inaka.] Ryuji ハハ、都会の洗礼ってか? haha, tokai no senrei tte ka? Hah. Not used to the big city yet, huh? [lit. Haha, so this is your first time in the city?]
We don't get a huge amount of detail in-game about Joker's home. Besides Sojiro's "country boy", Ryuji has a couple of comments. Here's another:
Ryuji あれ? お前ン家ってわりと田舎? are? omae n uchi tte wari to inaka? Wait a sec, your hometown isn't near the countryside, is it? [lit. isn't your place relatively countrified?] Ryuji いや、大自然でランニング練習とか気持ち良さそうだなーって。 iya, daishizen de ranningu renshuu to ka kimochi yasasou da naa tte I was just thinkin' it'd be great to run an' train somewhere out where it's all big, naturey open space. [lit. no, I thought it seemed like it'd feel great to train in the great outdoors and stuff.]
(I think something may be off here with that translation of daishizen, which seems to connote "the great outdoors", "a vast wilderness", etc, as well as just meaning "nature" (the sort you get out into) more generally". The word has been split up as if Ryuji was just saying "big nature" for some reason, like if you thought "the great outdoors" meant "the outdoors is great :D".)
But we can see from Ryuji's statement that Joker's home is wari to inaka, "relatively countrified", "kind of countrified"—it's more the country than Tokyo is, but it's probably not the ass end of nowhere, either. It's somewhere Ryuji pictures getting out into nature—but even if that's accurate and not just in Ryuji's city-boy head, that again doesn't connote "ass end of nowhere"; a lot of very built-up places are startlingly close to farmland or to nature, as with the putative rice field at the bus stop that we read about earlier.
the artbook picture
There is, of course, a picture of Joker's home in the artbook:
Tumblr media
That doesn't scream "rural" to me—though it's also not the built-up area we see him in with Shido. It backs onto a cliff, it's very green. It's clearly a row of houses on a street, maybe in a fancy suburb on the edge of the city?
It's a nice house, at any rate. Joker moving into Sojiro's attic, with his clothes in a box, will have been a harsh step down.
Another detail from this image before we move on:
Tumblr media
Look at this board. We can make out what it says. We can even, just possibly, make out a town name there...
日立自治会 掲示板 hitachi jichikai keijiban Hitachi Neighbourhood Association noticeboard
自治会 jichikai—neighbourhood associations. As you'd expect, they tend to be organised at the very local level—so Hitachi is likely to be a small district within a larger city, rather than (say) the city of Hitachi in Ibaraki Prefecture.
his city has a name guys i can't believe it lmao
the coup de grace
But there's one question I think really puts the nail in the coffin here: WTF was Shido doing in the middle of nowhere?
It's totally plausible that Joker came from a remote farm in the country, or a tiny village in far northern Honshu. But what is there in that to attract Shido? Like... Shido seems kind of an indoor guy, y'know?
He goes where his business is. He goes where the money is. It's difficult for me to picture him going to random rural areas with nobody to schmooze, with what I'm sure he'd consider to be poor facilities and shitty hotels.
Even if he did stoop to visit somewhere like that, by the time he was on his off hours getting pissed (in both senses) and attacking women, wouldn't he have gone back to civilisation?—back to the city?
conclusion??
This place Joker is wandering after dark doesn't look like The Country. It looks quite built up. I'd say it's the centre of a regional city or large town—with those nice houses we just looked at set off in suburbs along its edge. Look at this place:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It really does look like a less cramped version of Yongen-jaya, down to the trees. I don't think they spent too long on this area, but I also don't think it's inaccurate.
By the way, that "Hometown Neighbourhood" was originally 実家近くの住宅地 jikka chikaku no juutakuchi—"residential area near home". So this is not where Joker lived with his parents; it's an area close by. Like he says, he's on his way home late.
Where was he? We never find out. He has what looks like a school bag, well before his nasty crime days. Maybe he was visiting a friend we never hear about again. Maybe he was at cram school. But he's gone to this built-up part of town to do something there.
My guess would be that he lived in some prefectural capital or other. That's why Shido is there. I'd also guess that it's one of the Kanto prefectures, since the further you go from Tokyo, the less likely it becomes that Joker would have been sent to Tokyo for his probation, whether Sojiro was a friend of a friend or not.
As ever, all of this is for information only, and if you want to do something else superior in every way, you definitely should. At the end of the day Joker's a silent protagonist player insert, who can be from absolutely anywhere and as gay as you like. Let a thousand Jokers bloom.

You were sitting at the dining room table in the dorm ,that you share with your boyfriend Jisung and three of his group mates, typing furiously on your laptop. You had several assignment deadlines all due within the next couple of days, including your 2 year long thesis. After 4 long years of university, you were finally graduating, if you managed ro get all your assignments in on time and your thesis submitted.
You’re not sure how or why you’re so behind on your studies. Sure, you weren’t the most organized person, but you you always did a little bit of work that way when you inevitably had to sit down and work on whatever assignment you procrastinated, you were ready to go. You pride yourself on “working well under pressure” despite it giving you major anxiety and a few minor panic attacks. Your thesis, despited being the culmination of your entire university experience, was no exception to that. You had done your research for your topic. Most of the first year you started working in it was spent collecting articles and data and saving it for later when you would actually start writing. You were supposed to start writing in January. But you kept pushing it off since the submission deadline wasn’t until April.
That’s how most of the semester went when you realized that none of your professors cared about when you got your assignments in. As long as you turned something in, and it looked like you put effort, you got an A. Unlike your assignments, your thesis had to be read and approved by academic readers before you could submit it and you had only emailed them twice the whole semester with 2 half asses drafts. You decided to pull several all nighters last week to get a complete 60 paged draft roughly two weeks before the deadline so you would have time for revisions. You managed to email it to them exactly a week ago today, now you were anxiously waiting for your feedback. The problem is, they were taking too long and the thesis is due Monday. Normally, they would email you back 1-2 days after you email them a draft, even with your longer papers. It scared you to think that they’re taking 7 whole days this time, leaving you roughly 5ish days to work on revisions, not counting the turn around time for them to send you more feedback. While waiting, you pulled even more all-nighters to catch up on your other assignments that got neglected of the past few weeks.
Jisung had been good with leaving you alone the past few weeks while you worked. All of your roommates were. Hyunjin mostly stayed in his room like normal, only coming out every few hours to eat and socialize before returning to his room. Changbin is gone most of the day, either working out or exploring the out world. The few time’s he’s been home he tried to stay quiet and out of your way. Chan also spends a lot of time either in his room or at the studio. He even offered to let you use his room to do your homework in while he’s at the studio so the others were less likely to bug you. Jisung, being a bit more needy than the other three men, stayed near you most of the time. Like reading manga at the table while you worked or watching something on his computer either at the table next to you on the floor. He also makes sure you eat and get some sort of snack. He often would have to come beg you to get some sleep, promising to wake you up at a certain time so you could get back to work. Right now, he’s at the convenience store getting lunch for the two of you.
Taking a break from writing, you check your email for the 15th time today. Seeing an email from your academic advisor at the top makes your heart drop. You waste no time opening the email, eyes quickly scanning the words. Making sure you were reading everything properly, you re-read the email.
“Hey, how are you doing with your homework?” Hyunjin pats your head as he walks by, finally leaving his room for the second time today.
“Everything is okay,” You mutter back, finally opening the comments that your readers left on your paper.
Hyunjin stares at you for a second. He knows that you definitely didn’t answer the question he asked. He debated if he should press you or continue on like nothing happened. He knew you were stressed, all of your roommates did. So he brushed it off as you being too engrossed in your assignments and continued on to the kitchen to make himself something to eat.
“Everything is okay,” You mumble to yourself.
Everything is not okay. Your advisors had completely torn your paper apart. You knew there were issues with it, it was only natural that you hadn’t written a perfect complete draft after multiple sleepless nights. You expected it. What you hadn’t expected was being told that your paper was so bad that there would be no way for you to fix it in time for the Monday submission deadline and you would instead have to work on it over the summer. It’s not good enough. You’re not good enough.
“Everything is okay,”
“Did you say something?” Hyunjin calls from the kitchen. He was debating if he should just give up on the idea of making something to eat and just order food.
You could feel your heartbeat getting faster at the notion that everything not being okay, like it would beat out of your chest at any second. You can feel your hands becoming cold and clammy. You slowly wipe your hands on you pant legs, trying to calm yourself down. If you don’t do something—anything to calm down, you’re going to have a panic attack. You need cold water. You quickly stand up, legs feeling like jelly, and make your way to the kitchen.
You walk straight past Hyunjin, who was now finishing ordering himself food, and grab a cup from the cabinet. He pays little attention to you as he focuses on the menu, debating if he should just order dinner as well. He doesn’t see your hands shaking as you take the cup to the sink and fill it with ice and cold water. He doesn’t even look up at you until the combination of your sweaty, shaking hands and the heaviness of the cup makes you drop it, shattering it across the floor.
“Everything is okay,” You can’t even get a cup of water.
Hyunjin rushes to get the broom while you drop to the floor and start picking up the shards of glass. Your heart is beating even faster now, you can feel it in your ribcage, and now you’re breathing quickly.
“Y/n, I got it, move,” Hyunjin playfully pushes you away with the broom except, you don’t budge. Instead your chest tightens and your breathing quickens even more.
“Y/n? Chan hyung!” Hyunjin drops the broom and come next to you as he watched you cut yourself on a piece of glass and still try to clean, finally understanding that everything is not okay.
Chan rushes out of his room at the sound of panic in Hyunjin’s voice. He stops when he sees you sitting on the floor, hyperventilating and holding glass in your bloodied hands while Hyunjin slowly rubs circles on your back. He kneels down on the other side of you and carefully pulls the glass shards you are holding out of your hands.
“What happened?” Chan doesn’t take his eyes off you.
“I don’t know! She dropped the cup and started having a panic attack.” Hyunjin says, standing up.
“Where’s Han?” Hyunjin hands Chan a towel for your hand. The cut isn’t bad enough for you need stitches, but it is still bleeding.
“He went out not too long ago.”
“Call him, now. Y/n, hey, let try to take a deep breathe…” Chan now focuses all of his attention of calming you down.
The boys know you’re prone to panic attack, especially when you're stressed. They also know that Jisung is the only one who is able to properly calm you down if you weren’t able to stop the attack from happening in the first place.
“…Don’t panic, but you need to come home right now…It’s Y/n, she having a panic attack…Chan hyung is with her right now but it seems really bad this time…Yeah, okay see you soon. Hyung, Han said to try that 333 thing.” Hyunjin slides his phone back in his pocket before picking up the broom again and trying to clean up the broken glass.
“Yeah, right, okay, um… Y/n, can you tell me three things you see?” Chan was now sitting right in front of you, hands on your wrists stroking a finger back and forth trying to calm you down a bit.
“Everything…is…okay,” You choke out, tears now falling down your face. Chan starts to worry more now. In all the times he’s seen you have a panic attack, he’s never see you reduced to tears. He quickly shares a look with Hyunjin who was now done cleaning the glass and getting a mop for the water.
“Yeah, you’re right everything is okay. Why don’t you just tell me three things you can hear instead?”
“Can’t breathe,” Your breathes become shorter as the pounding in your chest gets even stronger, practically blocking out all outside sounds.
“Let’s just take one deep breathe. Can you do that for me? I’ll do it with you, c’mon,” You try to follow Chan’s lead and take a deep but choke instead and start crying harder.
“Hyung…” Hyunjin softly calls out. He’s one of your best friends and he hates seeing you in distress like this.
“Yeah, I know. Just go wait by the door so you can let Han in when he gets here. Y/n, it’s okay. Let’s try that again but slowly this time.” Chan was no longer concerned that you were having a panic attack, but that you might actually make yourself pass out this time. He slight moves his body so that he could catch you if you went down.
A few minutes later, Jisung runs into the dorm out of breathe. Hyunjin points to the kitchen and takes the bag that was in his hands. Jisung quickly kicks off his shoes and rushes into the kitchen where you were now full on sobbing on the floor. He wastes no time sitting in front of you and cupping your face.
“Sungie?” Your tearful eyes meet his concerned ones.
“Hey princess, what’s going on?” His thumb swipes over your cheek, briefly breaking the flow of tears. Chan finally gets up from the floor and leaves the two of you in the kitchen alone. He sits with Hyunjin in the living room, making sure to keep an ear out in case he was needed again.
“Everything is okay,” You repeat. At this point, you weren’t sure if you had been telling everyone else that everything was fine or if you were trying to calm yourself down.
“Everything is okay, let’s try to focus on your breathing so that everything can be even more okay.”
“I—I can’t, it hurts. Like my chest is going to explode. I think it actually might this time.” Jisung’s left hand leaves your face and gently lands on your chest with slight pressure. The fact that he could feel how hard your heart was working worried him. He quietly decided that if he couldn’t calm you down in 20 minutes, he’d call for an ambulance.
“You’re safe here. I won’t let anything happen to you.” He reassures you. Your eyes start to wander around the kitchen, remembering everything you had to get done today.
“I broke a glass…and I still have so much homework to get done.” Your breathing quickens yet again and you cry even harder.
“Hey, just look at me. Forget everything else. The glass is already taken care of and we can worry about your homework a little later. Right now, I just need you to touch my hand. Can you do that for me?” His right hand leaves your face. He holds up next to him, like he’s awkwardly waving hi, and waits for you to touch it.
“Ji, I can’t,” You whimper.
“Yes, you can. I know you can. Just listen to my voice. Take a deep breathe in and when you touch my hand, let that breathe out. Okay?” He slowly takes a deep breathe in and you follow suite. Your shaky hand meets his steady one and you let out the air you were holding in.
“Good girl,” He moves his hand to a new position, “let’s do that again.”
You repeat your actions, taking a deep breathe in and letting it out once you touch Jisung’s, until your breathing becomes less labored. His left hand never leaves your chest, acting like a weight blanket with the amount of pressure he was adding. He was afraid to actually put a real weighted blanket on you in your current state.
“Feel a little better?” Jisung asks, still continuing to have you follow his hand. You just quietly shake your head yes. Your breathing had regulated and your heart had slowed down to a normal pace.
“Can you get up?” You shake your head yes again.
“Okay, let’s get you up so we can take care of that hand.” Jisung gets up first and helps pull you up. He leaves out a hand for you to take. Instead you grab his sleeve and allow him to lead you out of the kitchen.
The two of you walk past Chan and Hyunjin who were quietly talking on the couch. Jisung quietly gives them a look of appreciation and that everything is good before taking you to the bathroom. Once inside he helps you sit on the counter, careful to make sure you don’t see yourself in the mirror. Worried that if you saw the state of yourself, you might start panicking again. You had calmed down significantly, but you were still crying and that worried him.
“Do…do you want to talk about what made you panic? It’s okay if you don’t.” He pulls out the first-aid kit and starts cleaning your cut.
“I”m not good enough,” You simply choke out.
“What makes you say that?” That’a one of the things you love about Jisung. He never jumps to reassure you when you doubt yourself, he tries to understand why you’re feeling a certain way first.
“My thesis is shit and my readers say there is no way for me to fix it in time for submission on Monday so I’ll have to do it during the summer. And I don’t know what that means for graduation next month because we’ve already booked the venue for the dinner and my family already bought their tickets and booked their hotel rooms and if I tell them I can’t graduate anymore then they’ll be disappointed and I’ll be proving them right about every decision I’ve ever made—”
“Breathe, Y/n, just breathe…” He doesn’t even look up as he wraps your hand with a bandage.
“Everything is falling apart, Ji.” He cleans up the first-aid kit and then grabs a clean wash cloth from under the cabinet, wetting it with water from the sink.
“Let’s just take everything one step at a time, okay? You already caught up with all your late work, right?”
“Yeah,”
“And you were just trying to get ahead on your last few assignment?”
“Yeah,”
“I’m sure they’ll still let you walk at graduation and just hold onto your degree until you turn in your thesis. Tomorrow, I will help you contact your school to figure that out. Today, let’s just focus on getting you better. You haven’t been sleeping much the past couple of weeks. Let’s just take the rest of the day to rest.” Jisung takes the washcloth and wipes your face, cleaning the tears.
“But Jisung, I can’t—”
“How about we take a small break and you take a nap? And then we can go from there? I know how much it drains you when you have a panic attack.”
“Okay, just a nap.”
“And lunch, you also need to eat too. We can eat in our room if you want. I got some gimbap and ramyeon.”
“Okay, food and a nap.” Jisung takes you back to your shared room and sits you on the bed. He wraps you in the weight blanket that you two use when one of you are feeling anxious. He kisses your forehead before leaving the room for a little bit.
When he comes back he’s carrying two bowls and the bag he had earlier. He carefully sets the food on the table that you bought so you could work while in bed before sitting down in front of you. He watches as your still shaky hands grab the chops sticks and fail to get any noodles before he slowly offers to feed you.
“Do you want me to help you with your homework? I know I’m not the best with school stuff but I’ll try to help you any way I can.” He says, taking a bite of his own food.
“I think I’ll be fine after some rest, but can you just sit with me later while I work maybe?”
“Of course, anything for you, jagi.”
Buy me a coffee?

I swear I'm sick and tired of the "Just Listen to the Song" OS being used to attack people who dare to interpret Chainsaw Man.
As soon as a take exceeds 2,000 characters, it screams over-analysis, when every take I see systematically refers to a box, a line, a page, an event in the manga, and everything is sourced.
Analyses aren't blah blah disconnected from the work; they're debates ABOUT the work.
Fujimoto never said that his works shouldn't be interpreted; Just Listen to the Song is about the difficulty for a creator to convey a precise message to a precise audience.
That creating can be frustrating, that it's easier to reach the whole world than to communicate with precisely ONE person.
All Fujimoto is saying is that analysis shouldn't overtake experience, that reading is fun, that not everything has to be intellectualized.
This doesn't mean that Chainsaw Man is doomed to be a linear work, with no links to be made. Otherwise, why did Makima and Denji, when they were confronted, refer to the bad films, which had been introduced some sixty chapters before?
Interpreting is also about having fun, let people live.
Saying that CSM is just a fighting manga is as dangerous as someone going too far in their analysis.

Look, I'm not a Sebaciel shipper. I'm not an anti, but I just read the manga and enjoy what's going on without reading too much into it (I'm also old and come from a time where the master word was "ship and let ship"). And I can tell you, the antis are fucking annoying (it was not that bad in the beginning of the manga/and then anime.... I daresay it was almost non-existent, Sebaciel was almost a given at the time). They're the ones spamming the tags with their hate when I just want to look at fanarts, gifs, edits, analysis, etc.... I swear, I see the Sebaciel posts and it's (most of the time) not those posts written in big font about how a part of the fandoms is crazy or should die or whatever else (and those hate posts can be several times a day, it's exhausting). I could have send it to an anti but they would have dismissed this message as a Sebaciel sending them hate or something and hurled more insults and I'm not in the habit of talking to walls. Anyway, you guys are chills and I'm going to finally blacklist the anti tag, never thought I would see the day.
Hey Nonny!
I agree, it's horrible what fandom spaces have turned into. I gotta say, when I fist saw the notification for an anon ask, my first instinct was that I had finally annoyed the wrong person and gotten my first anon hate message. How happy I was to be proven wrong, but I'm also sad because that is what the current state of fandom has done to us.
I've been in fandom for a long, long time; I grew up reading and writing fanfic in the don't like don't read/no flames/ship and let ship era. However, this is really my first time being an active participant in a fandom community and it sure is...something. But that being said, I also sort of get it. Because I too very nearly fell down into that moral purity cesspool about 10 years ago. It's so easy to fall into when that's what you've either intentionally or unintentionally surrounded yourself with. I was lucky to notice before I got too deeply entrenched in it and stopped looking at that kind of content.
The antis would say differently, but I don't care how someone reads/interprets Sebastian and Ciel's (canon) relationship as long as they have evidence to back up their claims; literature is subjective but that doesn't mean you get to say whatever interpretation you want and have it be valid. (Fanfic is another thing entirely - do whatever the hell you want with them and have fun).
Anyway, all this to say: good for you, Nonny, in taking the appropriate steps to curate your online fandom experiences. Life is too short to purposefully expose yourself to things that upset you or make you angry. I think more people could stand to follow your example.

psst, hey kid *I slink out of the shadows from an alley you don't remember being there and open my trench coat, revealing manga volumes* Read Blue Flag. It's a gotdamn pinnacle of the graphic narrative medium. Some capital L literature. The way that Kaito fellow wordlessly expresses interiority and queer experiences through body language and paneling? Unparalleled. I swear it on me grandmamas' graves. Ya won't regret it, kid *I slink back into the shadows. You look down and volume 1 is in your hands*

hello fellow dungeon meshi fan. Do you know what age rating the manga is? Ive seen people say various things (such as 18+ 14+ 15+ and 13+) so im not sure.
Ive read the whole manga myself online, however im bad at judging stuff myself. I just want to get the physical copies but i wasnt sure. (Im 16, turning 17 this year)
I know its got the (semi?)nudity with some of the monsters. (Harpy, falin, mermaids, minotaur) but im fairly sure naruto does as well (i watched a few episodes of the anime years ago) but my memorys pretty bad so im not sure what it would be
(If you know the official rating please tell me orz)
Please and thank you :)
I think Yen Press rating it T (Teen) is fairly fitting, its has aspects of violence (though usually not excessive/realistic gore, the most you usually see are blood and bones, any time you see actual innards or anything is pretty much always in the context of taking them from monsters and cooking them), bad language (swearing and such), and some level of sexual content (though as you point out, its mostly some partial nudity and other instances where its not generally meant to be sexual (with a couple mild exceptions.) It certainly has its dark moments but in my experience its nothing worse than what you can potentially see in a lot of YA novels and other fantasy stories aimed at teens. Generally I think a 16/17 year old could read it without much issue as long as they know what they're getting into in terms of genre.

Sophina Bibilia
Height: 5’6/168cm
Age: 24
Birthdate: April 2nd
Sign: Aries
Gender: Transgender MtF
Pronouns: She/Her
Sexuality: Disaster Bisexual
• Oh Sophina is so prim and proper, one who detests vulgarity and only ever enjoys the fine classics of literature and study… WRONG. My girl’s favorite type of literature is the most trashy, schlocky, cheesy and cliche of romantic fiction.
• Although, of course, that’s her dirty little secret, and she INTENDS to keep it a secret. Has a whole hidden alcove somewhere in her personal library that can only be accessed through the most complicated of locking spells. The room itself looks like the most girliest of girl bedrooms you’ve ever seen that have trashy romance novels and manga alike lined across the walls. Diaries included with her own personal fictional works.
• Occasionally she’ll stop by public libraries to do live readings for the children who want to attend.
• Will absolutely go to town on a nice sherbet. Absolutely clean that bowl/cup and do a proper little dab dab of her mouth with a napkin like she didn’t just eat it like a savage.
• Favorite drink is a nice floral tea or dessert wine.
• She’s often found working alongside Tsurara and Renatus the most(the latter much to her dismay), since their roles often cross over into each others territories. With Tsurara’s experiments and research and Renatus’ confiscation of illegal grimoires used to tamper with bodies, she’s often the one who oversees and collects such information.
• She absolutely hates working with Renatus, she cannot STAND him or his crudeness. And he is the only one who is able to get under her skin and break her professional attitude with his impropriety. Renatus thinks it’s funny every time to hear her swear and be contradictory to her reputation.
• In terms of closeness with her coworkers, she is closest with Tsurara, friendly with Agito, Orter and Rayne, neutral with Kaldo and Ryoh, and on negative terms with Renatus.
• Really really really wants to get a cat or similar feline familiar but doesn’t want her bookshelves to get scratched or covered with fur.
• She’s debated on asking Agito what pet he’d recommend for her lifestyle but she’s worried about her reputation if she’s found being “soft.”
• Tried forming a book reading club with the other Divine Visionaries. It went about as well as you’d expect(bad).
• Owns a variety of hair accessories. On holidays she’ll change her headband based on the theme of said holiday.

attack on titan in hita (3)
If I had to choose a favorite part of the experience, it would be the aot museums. It was so fascinating, not only because of all the interesting info available there, but also because of the equally interesting goods you can find inside haha The first museum we went to was located next to a local farmers market, where they sell aot themed [insert everything here] kkkkk from ramune, to sweet potato, to instant noodles, liquor, tea, cookies, shampoo and conditioner, towels, and even survey corps geta (kimono sandals) among other things haha
Inside the museums, you could find Isayama-sensei’s life in pictures, a recreation of his workspace, recognitions he was awarded over the years, doodles and sketches, and my favorite: the curious facts and insightful explanations written below important panels of the manga. In one of them, he was discussing the meaning of attack on titan and it reads “I had this idea in my mind from the beginning when I was working in vol. 1. A boy, whose hometown is devastated by titans, swears revenge on his enemies, and becomes the very type of monster that he saw when he looked up at the titans the day of the attack […] you think it is a story about being attacked by titans, but it is actually a story about becoming a titan and attacking.” He really got us from the very beginning🥹 we stood no chance against the plans he had for us.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
About that scene where Reiner and Eren meet again in Liberio on the night of the attack, and Eren tells Reiner he is glad he was able to come back home, Isayama-sensei said: “Eren’s lines seem to be sarcastic, but I think he was actually truly happy that Reiner was able to return to the hometown he so wanted to return to.” And to me, someone who’s all soft for the bond between the 104th training corps kids, this piece of info was so🥹
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, he said he added the panel of the colossus titans crushing a place that looked like Japan, because he wanted Japanese audience to feel the horrors of the rumbling from a more personal perspective, and not as something that doesn’t concern them because it’s happening in a random faraway place that doesn’t exist, which I thought was super interesting.
Actually, I’m lying. My favorite part of the trip was obviously this life size cutout of Reiner😌

With a heavy heart, you arrived home and helped Milo make supper for the family. The night went by slowly with Milo's sister on your mind, but recognizing that he didn't seem as heavily affected by it anymore did help soothe you.
That night, you all fell asleep watching a movie; you in Milo's arms while he petted your tentacles. It was difficult not to fall asleep with how gentle he was- he must've had lots of experience.
The following day, Tasha was cleaning her weapon when you noticed a furrow in her brow. She then quietly said that she would be going to stop by Sheldon's today. Ah, she must have noticed a scratch or something. Either way, you figured it would be a good opportunity to spend time with her, so you asked if you could tag along. With a soft nod, she told you when she'd be leaving. Sooner rather than later- she'd rather fix her weapon as quickly as possible. You figured you'd get your weapon checked too while you were there. Seemed convenient.
It didn't take long before the two of you left the house, Tasha making sure not to scratch her weapon further. She held it close on the subway.
Maybe today you'd get to find out why she took such good care of the thing- if a reason at all. You're sure there had to be one, though.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You gave your weapon to Sheldon when you arrived, and he seemed shocked.
"The ink isn't fully going through! How have you been battling like this?"
... you've been at a disadvantage this whole time? He compared it to missing multiple Ink Saver abilities- it was really confusing.
Finally, Tasha carefully handed Sheldon her E-liter, pointing out the scratch he had to buff out. With a pleasant smile on his face while he analyzed the weapon, he said;
"Pristine as ever, Natasha! I admire your dedication to your weapon! If only others were as diligent as you..."
You noticed how Sheldon was looking at you when he said that, and you looked away out of embarrassment. Well, hey- you're sure Leo was much worse; you once caught him using nail polish to repaint a scratch on his dualies after dropping them.
"...Told you not to call me that." She quietly replied.
The two of you left Ammo Knights shortly, making your way to the lobby. It was a hot day, that blazer of Tasha's was probably way too warm. She was about to take it off when you caught her freeze in place.
She appeared terrified. You followed her gaze- and it was at some octoling boy. His tentacles stood out- a sort of mohawk fashion going backwards. He toyed with his Nautilus 47. He wore a wicked smile on his face. His eyes were closed and his sharp teeth showed. He sat next to what you assumed was his twin; a matching forward mohawk and a big frown. An octobrush sat next to him. The first one- the smiley one had pink tentacles, the second, frowny, had blue. The first laughed like a hyena as some girl he sat with told a joke, his arm around her with a seemingly painfully tight grip.
..he seemed like he was holding her hostage. Damn.
You looked back at Tasha and she seemed to cower even further as she stared at him. She held her weapon with shaky hands- wait, Tasha? With shaky hands? What the hell happened between these two?
The two of you had to walk by them to get to the Subway. You slowly tried to reach for her back, gently rubbing circles as you guided her, placing yourself between her and the twins.
But you were still noticed. You suppose she does stand out a bit with her height.
The pink-tentacled one stood up.
"Hey there sweetheart! S' been a while, love. How ya been?"
He got much too close, breath mixing with hers. She held her weapon even closer. She kept her head down. His hand left her shoulder when she flinched and she quickly tried to walk off, and you heard him mumble under his breath; "Tch. Bitch. Got what you deserved anyways."
Her hand shook as she held it in front of her mask on the subway. She was still frozen and you could see her tearing up.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You trailed behind her as she rushed to her room. Despite what you may assume, she continued to hold your hand. She needed company. She didn't want to be left alone.
She took her mask off as she shook. She was so vulnerable.
That's right. Her scars.
Wait... is that how she got those?
What the hell did that asshole do?!
Sobs wracked her body as you held her free hand, her other thumb rubbing her weapon, soothing her.
Once you offered her a soft hug, and you got her to breathe properly again, she began to explain. You wiped her tears as she went on.
"My weapon malfunctioned once and only once. The night I ran away from him.
...the night he gave me these scars.
I couldn't defend myself."
You looked at her with sympathy, and rubbed your thumb over the palm of her hand to soothe her. You stood up once again and held her head close to your chest, resting your chin on her head as you pet her tentacles.
Milo heard from Leo that the twins were in the square. Trav n' Marx. Milo put two and two together and raced down to Tasha's room to try to comfort her. He wrapped her in a blanket and quickly let his motherly instincts take over.
According to all you've gathered, she had an abusive boyfriend.
Tasha of all people.
Goes to show it can happen to anyone.
Poor girl...

Accidentally skipped class today due to nerves/spiked anxiety, decided to read a fic to pass time, problem was the fic was horror (very well-written! the author was excellent at building mystery and tension— I only felt as gripped back when I watched Summertime Render but anyway back on track—) and didn't help at all with the nerves, couldn't put it down either but I think my anxiety might be worse, but anyways that's not what I wanted to say, what did I want to say? Oh yeah! The fic's horror “monster” or antagonist/villain gave me Thoughts™ about... about the creations of Team Zahhak. Okay, less coherent thoughts and more... vague feelings of repulsion and dread. But still. I'd imagine this would be what the ArSen cast felt whenever they encounter one of those creatures or a sorcerer or Zahhak himself. (Particularly for the clan who are more sensitive to this kinda stuff)
Oh I love horror! (One day I swear I will plan out the 'Zabul Fortress + zombies' AU that I've been thinking about on and off for years...) But yeah, seeing Zahhak's creatures for the first time is definitely a shocking experience and I do think in general they evoke a level of disgust and revulsion even after Team Arslan get used to fighting them.
The Team Zahhak mages specifically do have a kind of malicious presence that other characters pick up on. As you've noted before in the manga (but also supported by some novel scenes), it's no surprise that Farangis is particularly perceptive to it, and those who have the honed instincts of a warrior will sense them, but even normal people seem to get a sense of unease and 'wrongness' etc when they are around.
(Personal headcanon time: Hilmes is remarkably bad at picking up on this. It's partly to do with him becoming desensitised from spending time with Team Zahhak from a young age, and partly because of his tunnel vision focus on revenge and obtaining the throne.)
Zahhak's aura is like that of the mages x1000 and can easily induce terror in those who aren't mentally prepared to face it.

reading
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and the Amulet of Power by Mike Resnick. it was in a dollar book bin and i got it as a joke gift for a friend. mike resnick is a remarkably prolific writer who's done a lot of tie-ins. i don't have anything particularly notable to say about his star wars books but they are a sort of minimum viable product? they feel star warsy and don't annoy me on every page.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this book was published in 2003 and treats the people of the Nile delta and their beliefs with all the delicacy you might expect from a 2003 video game tie in novel. i do think the twist is being telegraphed way too hard. perhaps i should say instead of sending a telegram mr resnick has simply set the telegraph office ablaze as a signal fire. the titular triangle-pointed woman herself ms croft is VERY insistent she's just as good as the boys. this is pretty on par for my experience of 2003 empowering womens' feminism AND my experience in a male-dominated field so i can't really ding it too hard? aside from the racism, in the notably racism-free fields of archaeology and video games and archaeology video games, this book is aging a little strangely overall. i do not know if i will finish it before i mail it out to my friend, but despite its sins it is a very fast read.
watching
watched the four dungeon meshi episodes. it's cute! ProzD was an unexpected delight! it made me want to make something fancy for dinner but alas i still have to go food shopping!
Tumblr media
some posts on my dash were talking about how the episode with the mollusks inside the living armor really got them hooked and i have to agree. i also saw the full potential of the show's speculative biology unspooling before me. i don't know if i currently have the brainwidth for the manga but it is going on my reading list for after i finish berserk. which is kind of like saying i'm going to watch chopped after i finish up hannibal

forgot i had an original gen switch, given to me through a complex series in a complex series of friend barters back in uhhhh late '21? early '22? i got through 3/4 of the divine beasts the first time around and then could not crack the camel. it was well past time to create a new switch profile so i could start a new game without losing the old one.
omg twinnsssssssss

i did forget how goddamn big the map is. i have just now unlocked the camera and the memory quests, i have not really. done much more than basic tutorial and beginning of game stuff.
Tumblr media
making
anxiously junebugging between a whole bunch of shit. finally figured out the correct charger/extension cord setup for my bedroom. replaced all the fluorescent lightbulbs and took them to be recycled. fixed the hall door enough so it latches closed and an irritated cat can't claw it open. tidied up the balcony and patio and repotted the surviving houseplants.
in textile news, started this cross stitch. this is a Bless This Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy Star Wars themed sampler, i have made two as gifts and had to throw out a mostly-completed one i made for me bc of the moths. but i now know exactly where this will go in this apartment and i already have the frame and i bought all the floss pre-being fired, so might as well? the real bitch of the situation here is backstitching the buildings. it's so start and stop. it's so much tan. i talked about this on the weekly siblingchat facetime and now my brother has requested one lmao. that's his christmas gift settled. i suppose.
Tumblr media
i had somehow forgotten how loadbearing textile crimes are for me. i haven't done much of anything since the moth debacle, and that was almost two years ago. last night i found some suspicious holes in a camisole and i'm really really hoping it's just cat claws and not moths or carpet beetles or any other fun things that eat clothes.

writeblr intro
I seriously have no idea how to do this
Hi! I go by Nihil, I'm 17, I use he/him, and I'm an aspiring comic book writer! So some of the stuff I post about my WIP's might seem kinda weird since obviously writing a comic is different than writing a novel.
I currently have two WIP stories that I'm working on, and I hope to one day fully write and illustrate them and post them online!
Main WIP (Currently):
Blue Cataclysm (or BC)
"Eramos Varma, son of an important religious figure among humans, and Cyrus, a halfling spy working for elves, meet through a kidnapping and discover a cult among human elites. They need to work together to learn more about them, stop their plans, and maybe save their world."
Fantasy, mystery, action/adventure? And a good dose of a romantic side-plot.
Main character are Era and Cyrus, as mentioned. They're both halflings, living in a world where there used to be a massive fight between humans and elves. Never resolved, but things aren't quite as dire as they were some two-hundred years ago.
A lot of religious themes, queer stuff, coming of age crap, and a creepy secret society/cult!
Second WIP:
The Pandora Program (or TPP/Pandora)
"Varen Voclain, a recently turned 18-year-old boy, is enrolled into the Pandora Program after seemingly developing his power for the first time and killing dozens. His first assignment goes awry when they plan to interupt a meeting among ex-members trying to take down the program. Their leader, Vitri, is able to bend glass to his will, and he knows Varen."
Superpowers, action, and spy shit. Also a bit of romance, but it's not quite as important as the romance is in BC.
A world like ours, but where about 2% of the world develops special powers in their later teens. The Pandora Program is a program for juvenile criminals with said special powers working for the government to take time off their sentences.
Main characters are Varen and Nathair. Nathair has the nickname "Boy Medusa", with his power being the ability to turn anyone who makes contact with his skin to stone. Varen's power is... a secret lol.
A big theme in TPP is dehumanization, and thus humanity. Also stuff regarding discrimination and trauma. A bit heavier than the stuff in BC lol
My favourite of the two stories is actually Pandora, but because of that I'm writing Blue Cataclysm first to get more experience for it!
My favourite comic is the original Spiderman comics from the 1960's, and my favourite manga is Chainsaw Man (I swear I wrote Pandora before I knew what CSM was I SWEAR-)
Favourite anime is definitely Licoris Recoil. I will admit this time I did watch it before I wrote Pandora but it only kinda inspired it.
Other stuff I like is cooking and baking, drawing (duh), embroidery, reading, and science!
Also, this is my first time properly using Tumblr, if I do something wrong I'm sorry I swear I tried looking into the etiquette before joining lol

idk if anyone else experiences this, but im SO bad at like picturing a characters voice when im reading something, like i guess some people can just automatically hear character voices of what theyre reading but it doesnt happen naturally for me at all so i always end up reading everything in my own voice.. but if im reading fanfiction or a book with a show/movie adaptation, i like to look up clips and try to listen to the characters voice while reading it so i can picture it better, and suddenly the text has SOOOO much more impact with the right voice.. i feel like this is gonna sound stupid or like common sense but i swear i just feel like im missing out because it doesnt have the same effect when i read it how i normally do..
very specifically talking about saiki, because he has such a specific tone and i just can't replicate it in my head no matter how hard i try, so whenever im reading the manga or a fic, i gotta listen to clips of him talking because the experience is so. much. better.

I need to be a nerd for a second because did ANYONE else have the same childhood experience reading the Zelda mangas because genuinely so much of the reason that I ACTUALLY got into art instead of just kind of being a vaguely creative kid and then dropping it is because my parents knew I really liked Zelda, and they’d get these from the library or sometimes my dad would pirate fan English translations and let me read them on his PC, and I would read the shit out of them and spend ages trying to redraw the panels over and over again TAKE ME BACKKK I GENUINELY HAVE SO MUCH NOSTALGIA FOR THEM and for the Zelda franchise in general god damn it. 4 year old me would literally combust at the mention of Twilight Princess I swear to god
