For those who have been around for a while, you may recognize that this is a remake of an old pmv, and for those who have been around for a VERY long time you may recognize that this is a remake of a remake of the second PMV I ever uploaded on my channel. Before I made stuff for this channel I was already making PMV's, just loose in my sketchbook and only shown to my twin.

I had the idea for Unfinished Business long ago, and it started out as loose drawings in a sketchbook. Eventually I drew it all, and when I started the channel I decided to upload it all. The drawings in that first video are sentimental, but also make me laugh now. Years after the original PMV I remade it, and this time not only was it drawn in a better style, but I colored all of them by hand with colored pencils. And then, when I went to photograph those drawings, the colors didn't come out right. I didn't have a good enough phone camera and I had a poor understanding of lighting. It was immensely frustrating to me to post the video with the colors I had painstakingly filled in butchered, and I was never happy with the result. So, all these years later, now that I work on an ipad, I finally remade it once again but sure that the colors would come out right. For those curious I still largely work traditionally, just not exclusively. For this video, like many of my videos, I drew the original pictures on notecards and then scanned those notecards and added the colors digitally. The lineart is all done in pencil though. I'm finally happy with the results of this project. It feels so good to at last have made this something that I can fully be proud of. I hope you all enjoy it as well. For those who are new, welcome and I am so happy to have you. For those who have been here since the original videos -- I cherish you more than words can say.

Hi!! thank you very much!! drawing lineart is incredibly frustrating to me so im very glad i was able to make the jump to mostly lineless artwork, tho im very much still at the beginning to learn how to do it xD

to answer your question, i .. cant say really, it depends on what is on the panel, and i always jump around when working on a page, i draw half of the very last panel, then jump to another, maybe i see something i want to change right away and work on the third besides i ... dont know anything about panel composition, i think in movies so i play it and try to pause it on a frame that could work as a panel, whichs is probably why it goes alot slower than normal comics, idk how much to skip gndfjknvgfdjk

im by no means an expert in making comics, you kinda have to find your own way of what works for you, i have done many in the past but all failed, i gave up before getting even one chapter done many times

general advice i can give you is, most importantly, dont wait, i know its daunting to start, but you have to start, even if you dont think you are good enough, you will always change and improve anyway, better start now or you might do it never, and remember, when a page is done its done, i know how tempting it is to go back and redo it, but if you start with that it will only lead to an endless cycle of remaking it over and over

a cause that made me abandon my old projects, was partly lack of support/recognition, but mostly that i was forcing myself to things that werent fun, like one i made in black and white bc i thought you had to do it bc color takes too long, but i live for colors, so it drained the fun out of it immediately

the only "rules" i have set for myself is that its understandable, the flow of the action doesnt flip around too much, speech bubbles are aligned in a way that guides you (of course im not perfect at that either and always learn); i dont jump between pages, i jump between working on panels, but i dont start another page before the previous is at least acceptable, otherwise id get ahead of myself and get impatient, just wanting to skip ahead and neglect older pages; and that i only work on a panel/page as long as it has acceptable quality and is fun to draw, when i notice im getting bored or frustrated i finish it quickly as best as i can and move on, otherwise it might drag the entire project down, which is why each panel or page in 'Destiny' varies alot in quality

i can barely look at the first pages .. or even at the last one i made for that matter, but its also fascinating, how much my art changes within even one update which takes me about a month for 4 pages, since i have set my 'fun' rules at least, it used to take much longer (i wish i was faster, and i could be, but i have a job, and have to look out for my health, both physically and mentally, so i take whatever time i need and draw however much i feel like drawing, no rushing)

my progress so far is that i write a rough script, what happens, what dialog, where it ends, and so on, it doesnt have to sound good, god knows mine are shitty xD but its a good guideline, even if rough! then i make a rough draft, basic panel layout, dialog (it always changes fro mthe script, again its more liek a guideline than a rule ;) ) then i start with actually drawing the first page, my art and way of .. art and writing changes incredibly fast (idk if its for the better lol) so .. by that point i redraw the rough draft version of the page if i see how it works better, rewrite dialog too, and even cut stuff from the rough draft

im not done with the first chapter (im slow af lol), but wrote the script for the second one when my hand was injured and i couldnt draw for a month, once im done with this chapter i will draw the rough draft for ch2, then write the script for ch3 then go and draw ch2 fully, at least thats the plan the more time passes the more i know what the next chapters are gonna be, tho i know the important points long before; right now i have the entirety of the first arc sepeareted into chapters, and the end of it all too, but between there its still a lil blurry and im adjusting everytime i think of soemthing better

anyway, sorry for that long ass ramble, its late and i thoguht about this ask bc im trying to get my want to draw back (not feeling well rn nkfdnkd) so i randomly decided to answer it .. probably in the most unhelpful way possible, alot of stuff noone aksed for lol

A Strange Visit

Alright, so, as you know I don't really like to draw things myself and that it is not good to my mental health and blah, blah blah, so I am back with just another color in. Saw this base on deviantART and it instantly gave me Thabisa and Rastakah vibes, so why not? Let's go. I had to remake all the lineart because it was a Paint friendly base and I have no idea how to use Paint and I only work with layers. I had some time I decided to try to remake my first art I have planned for @adrienaugust again (for 2nd day prompt Ice-cream), since there's still August. My first attempt was total failure, so I haven't uploaded that. I tried to make it with my newest alcohol markers which didn't work. Yesterday I tried it again, but no matter how much I try, my the most fitting colors (of alkohol markers and my newest pens with dual tip with brush and fineliner) for white skin are always too dark and too bright. I tried even lighten water pens using wet painting brush, but I didn't like the effect too. So I gave up and made it using colored pencils (and fineliner for lineart) only also trying my new pad which is very good for colored pencils. I see a big difference, even coloring is more comfortable.  I bought lots of those pads since they were very cheap as for they great basis weight (250g/m2) at the supermarket. Because there's upcoming school year, you can find more art supplies (sometimes really nice and cheap) at the supermarkets, so I did lots of shopping in the last month.

This is just a redrawing of the show's scene with minor differences and my own Ladybug-themed ice-cream. I did it to save time to make it before the end of August, as I'm still not good enough at drawing humans so sketching them always takes too much time.

long post ahead!! just so you have an idea of what you're reading: this post is about an abandoned comic thingy about russian revolution stuff that i did with some people i know.

Y'ALL SO i won't put this in too many tags because i feel like it would bother some people that are actually looking for serious historical content.

but uhm

just before you read this, keep in mind that i mean AU as in Alternate Universe/Alternate Reality

my girlfriend, my ex best friend and i were planning on doing a modern AU comic about russian revolution people!! we didn't really know whether we should actually use russian rev or napoleonic wars, since both topics really interests us AND both have a ton of people to use as characters. honestly we pretty much preferred the concept of doing this with russian revolution people !! (we still designed how napoleonic wars people would look like in the modern AU thing though)

unfortunately my girlfriend is having tons of personal things to do and the production of the thing is on hiatus, + the other person working on this was the writer, which used to be my best friend, but we fought and she isn't working for us anymore, which means that we don't have any writers, aka we can't actually finish this anymore because neither of us actually knows how to write shit

i'm honestly just saying this because this might be interesting for some of you!! here's some of the little drawings my girlfriend and i did. she doesn't have a tumblr account, but her instagram tag is romanovff1942. she hasn't posted anything there because she's really shy, so im just using this as credits.

about the actual comic now,

so we started off with this little prototype just so that we could understand what we were going for in terms of artstyle/art in general!!

it's in portuguese, but i can try and translate it for you all.

(the artwork was mostly made by my girlfriend - she made the original sketch, i did the lineart and the text placement, and she colored the lineart and the actual colors of the thing)

so the dark haired dude is supposed to be felix yusupov and the light-brown haired dude is dimka. the background stuff aren't finished so :-/

i really just wanted to show y'all this!!! we might actually remake this part of it since this is a bit old and both of us have gotten a whole lot better at art, but at the same time, we don't rlly have the permission of reusing the writer's work since she basically hates me now so lmao

So an Anónimo sent me this question last night and since I had never updated my transparent Steampunk set I thought it would be a wonderful chance for me to make Steampunk!Nyaa transparent and show you guys how did I do it -- I suck at explaining things so there’s that.png

The Steampunk set has ALWAYS been a torture for me since the words in front of the sprite require me to both complete and finish drawing the sprite (back when you could only check the small flying sprites for reference).

But since the new gatcha screen shows the full sprite with this much detail that’s going to be our reference (actually that’s pretty much how I have been so fast finishing sets lately pls).

Knowing that I will have to complete both the bucket, and the broom later I made sure to make the canvas bigger -- but that’s not what matters right now.

Most transparents I make are of Category 1  (Category 1 - only remake the outside lineart for an easy crop-out. || Category 2 - I have to re-draw a part of the image OR add something that had been cut out by the original image. || Category 3 - I have to do ALL OF THE MENTIONED), so let’s get the easiest part out first.  How do I do it ??

By using the curve tool in Paint Tool SAI to make a close copy of the thicker outside of the sprite.  And yes, I do this with a mouse, 100%, you don’t need a tablet as long as you use the curve tool.

See, this is how a sprite of Category 1 usually looks like.  I re-make the outside lineart and then it’s just clearing up the background and I’m good to go.  But as you can see, this is a Category 3 transparent, it’s not complete yet. I have to not only add the bucket and the broom but also finish the flying machine behind the font.

That’s why I will be using this reference screenshot to trace exactly what I need.  And yes, I’m a masochist so-

See, now it’s looking better, right ??  I completed the picture with some tracing magic(tm) and now we’re pretty much halfway done with our Nyaa-chan here.

Make sure you also try to mimic the thickness of the outside lineart for the parts you have added/fixed, use the reference if you are not sure of what you are doing.

Don’t forget to fix your lines so they look smoother to the eye (especially because it has to look like the original, we’re tracing and mimicking what’s in the picture, not many creative liberties here).

And now that the picture if fully linearted -- yeah, we gotta also finish coloring this thing.png  (I also gotta mention that I do NOT fuse any of my layers until I’m done cropping the original image out, you’ll see why later.)

I use the curve tool to add the lightning while the pen/pencil tools are there for the coloring.  No, I still don’t use my tablet for this, you can do this with a mouse with no issue, the wand tool is your friend.png

Nice, nice, it’s pretty much done, let’s just crop the image out like a Category 1 transparent and we can save and post this.

Remember to not fuse any layers until you are done so you can go to your lineart layer, use the wand tool OUTSIDE the thick lines, clean the original picture’s background out, delete the layers you no longer need and it’s  d o n e.

And that’s how I make a Category 3 transparent (the hardest type of transparent I can get my hands on).  Not sure if I explained myself properly but -- eh, I tried, the Anónimo wanted to see it and I made them the favor.

This took me around an hour to finish and I’m THANKFUL, because I still have sequels from the very last time I had to work in one only transparent for SEVERAL hours.

Our teenage years [GHOST TRICK SPOILERS!!!!]

So anyway, I was playing Ghost Trick again recently and I couldn’t help to fall in love (again) with Yomiel and his tragic backstory [OMG the feels T_T] And OF COURSE I remembered about my old headcanons I had about him and his past, how he met his fiancée, Sissel in their childhood and then they were separated because Sissel moved to another country and how they only met again at their teens and fell in love with each other  I need to make MORE drawings to better illustrate my headcanons about him and Fiancée!Sissel because at the time I did my drawings of him, I wasn’t THAT specific about his past and I was having plans of writing some drabbles and one-shot fics about him and Sissel in their childhood and their teens… I remember that in that time so many things happened and I had to stop my projects, but I can always come back to the GT fandom again and draw more of these two because they are just so adorable  

Anyway, enough of blablabla, this one is a remake of this [link] As I was looking through my old Ghost Trick fanart, I couldn’t help to notice this one, it was my favorite back then because I just LOVED how my design of Teenager Yomiel came out, with his rebel hair falling on his face  and I thought it was so cute that I just HAD to draw it again with my improved male anatomy and my better lineart (because at the time I used Illustrator Image Trace since I didn’t have a digital drawing tablet ) and so…. ta da! Here is the result! I’m really surprised at how much I’ve improved these last three years with my human anatomy, my coloring and of course my lineart    Of course I have noticed how much I’ve improved by making some remakes of some of my Yugioh drawings, but when I did this one, I was really, REALLY surprised at how much I’ve improved!  (and I hope I can continue improving ) I really like how Yomiel’s body looks more realistic (more anatomically correct, that is)  and how his clothes are looking more realistic on his body   (He looks taller in this one too ) And of course I just LOVED his crazy banana-like hair in this one  I just love the coloring I gave it  I’m just not TOTALLY satisfied with his expression though… I think he was looking more playful and flirty in the first one… In this one he looks more serious (but I blame Seto Kaiba for that one because I got SO USED at drawing serious expressions because of him! )  However, I still like it though… But I still think that his expression was better in the old drawing As for Sissel, she looks SO adorable her anatomy looks SO MUCH better, specially for her back and her chest and also her hair  I also love how her expression came out here, she looks SO MUCH MORE in love with Yomiel than in the first one  Her eyes says everything   OMG how much I love these two dorks I really need to draw more Teen!Yomiel and Sissel sometime   Well, as for my headcanon of Yomiel and Sissel, I imagined that they have met in their childhood. After so many years, Sissel finaly moves back to her home country and she and Yomiel met again at their teens when they fall in love with each other Yomiel continues being the nerdy teenager with awkward social skills while Sissel still remains the same playful girl she used to be  Yomiel is clumsy and awkward around her and he tries to hides his feelings because he is afraid this will ruin their friendship and Sissel always finds his reactions to her flirtings something really funny
