Just realized Osk is going to light up seeing Zagreus for the first time.

Because she’s going to assume he’s half dead, like Hel.

So she’s just “nice, more people like my sister!” while Zagreus is nothing like Hel. Because Hel is a very brisk and humorless with anyone who isn’t her sister, but Osk doesn’t generally spend much time in Hel’s mansions enough to know that. She just thinks the half and half thing is Neat.

Honestly, she might well take to Hades given that she likes Hel so much and Hel is quite like Hades. The difference being Hades wasn’t physically forced to go take up stewardship of the dead, so much as told “someone has to do it” and pressured by Zeus until he took the position. And that Hades has no real reason to have casual conversation with her, where as Hel would chat with her about midgard and what their father was up to.

Actually, speaking of her siblings-- her siblings between Loki and Sigyn are probably a super fucking sore subject given what happened to them. To imprison Loki, they transformed one [Vali, iirc] into a rabid wolf which then turned on Narfi and gutted him. The asgardians then used his entrails--which hardened into iron chains--to bind Loki to the rocks in some deep cave. So like. Osk cannot possibly know about that or she would be 100000000% less chill with Freya and co.

What if that’s why she’s been fighting things in midgard’s current huge resource war going on? Freya is a war goddess, after all. If she sent Osk to go ahead of the Valkyries--either saying they’re overwhelmed by the sheer volume, or that this would earn her possibly becoming one--then she’d have been out of Asgard for the binding of Loki. She’d find out he was bound later, sure, but he DID get Baldr killed. It wouldn’t be until later that she found out about it being ‘until ragnarok’. Like, i cannot imagine Thor keeping the details under wraps if you paid him in ale, but i do think he’d keep the where secret. Ooh, and since the Asgardians raised Fenrir and only trapped him via trickery, it’s possible that her then trying to free him would be a big indication that--should she ever find out about WHERE Loki is bound and HOW he was bound--she could be a big problem. Not to mention she’s going to put together that she hasn’t seen her brothers in a while.

Which loops back to Freya binding her to Hades--another cage for another child of Loki.
