mash triad ski au - BJ and Peg go on vacation over Christmas of 1998, and meet another skiier when they all get trapped on a chair lift together 😉

triad wedding - I include this on every list (sigh) just because a whole draft exists, it just needs to be burned to the ground, chopped up with a machete and started from scratch and I burned out hard wriitng draft one. Anyway, final part of the first "arc" of Home verse. BJ, Peg and Hawkeye get 'married'.

Ambassador Spock - genuinely don't think I've touched this since 2021 but. Kirk is still captain of the Enterprise, charged with bringing the Vulcan ambassadors (Sarek and his son Spock) to a summit, "Journey to Babel" style only with more Spirk.

Hey, saw your Prsk Unit Shuffle AU and am very interested in seeing more.

In particular, I'm interested in hearing more about how the groups formed. It's always neat to see how these characters first meet and interact under different circumstances. And, as a little bonus, maybe what their "Untitled"/theme song is, because I feel like that's a very key part of a unit's identity that tends to be overlooked.

GASP HELLO I LOVE TALKING ABOUT MY UNIT SHUFFLE AU im so sorry this too forever to get u back on!! schoolwork is a pain and then i went SHOPPING (which takes forever :sob:)

okok so i haven't really thought about all the details of how they get together? so bear with me this is a rough draft lol

SSS: the idea at the core of this group is that its a family with different strengths coming together to make music. so tsukasa is the scriptwriter, saki is the lyricist, toya is the choreographer, and kanade is the composer! the group is headed by tsukasa, who's actually been putting on these shows for all of them since he was a kid. as he got older, he started taking stardom more seriously (leading into canon), but an incident in middle school ended up with the tenmas legally adopting toya, so that definitely shook things up for tsukasa (in a good way!). so i think that (+ l/n not reforming, which does happen in the SSS main story) allowed tsukasa and saki to consider banding their strengths together, since tsukasa loved putting on shows and saki loved seeing them, but she would also help put them on for toya (and later kanade, when she joins them not long after toya does). the two of them very quickly realize that they need more hands, and although recruiting kanade as composer is easy (bc 25ji never forms- dont ask why im still figuring that out lol) toya is a lot harder bc he's still active under BAD DOGS with akito. however, with akito picking up AWR around the same time (+ hatsune freaking miku appearing to toya), toya does join under their choreographer as for their untitled, their song is Wonderland and the Sheep's Song by Hachi, but I worked out their line distributions to this lovely KYO cover! you can see my color-coded lyrics for them here if you're interested :)

R/l: im gonna be 100% honest with you SSS and AWR are the only ones with any semblance of a plot rn LOL but here's the base idea around R/l: mizuki and rui both congregate on the kami school rooftop bc, yknow, loners (mizuki is never reached out to by kanamafu, so not 25ji on their part. tsukasa doesnt end up applying for phoenix so wxs doesn't have a chance of forming). at some point, i imagine they got talking about music, but never did anything concrete. but not long into the main story (probably the very start) an also joins them, her dream of surpassing rad weekend getting weaker as she struggles to find a partner (koha will be explained later) so she goes to hang with her friend on the rooftop. at some point, mizu and an both accidentally enter sekai, where they meet miku and len. those two tell them that there's still two others they need to find because they also made the sekai. mizu and an get.... maybe a little too excited over this. an takes this chance to invite her friend haruka over to kami (so she transfers) and join the group, but in their search for their fourth member they end up accidentally alienating rui (ironic). they fix that tho-- although HOW i dont know lol their untitled was one i went back and forth on (tbh only SSS and AWR i didnt lol), but i eventually decided on Untitled Hymn by shaito! their color-coded lyrics are here (i just realized you can barely tell where an is in lines but ehhh)

ATD: okay so. ATD is the group thats given the most gosh-darn trouble. ive revised their cast motivations like, TWICE now. but basically it goes like this: shizuku and mafuyu are both members of the archery club, with mafuyu trusting shizuku so much that her public mask slips a couple of times (against her will). shizuku's not dumb, but she doesn't say anything bc i think she understands that mafu has her secrets. after shizuku quits being an idol (on more of her own terms), she still wants to find a way to share the light she had before that seemed to reach mafu a few times. enter: accidental sekai trip! this trip both gives shizu the idea for an online group (which could sorta count as MMJ but i think the big distinction is they do more streamer/vtuber stuff and less purely idol stuff?? im still working on that) and lets her see mafu with her mask fully off. eventually, shizu drags nene into the business (nene never attends kami here, workin on that) bc shizu and mafu have no idea how streaming works and nene does, but nene likes hiding behind the camera but is still a part of the group bc who can say no to shizu? and hona joins at shizu's request bc they're both beautification members (and apparently hona+mafu are both honors students so i wonder if they have some overlap?? can you tell ive never attended public school lol) their untitled gave me SO MUCH TROUBLE. because ATD is supposed to be a weird mix of 25ji and mmj? but all of their songs get swiped by either R/l, AWR, or even SSS, so it was hard to find something that i thought could be specifically them. eventually, i finally decided on Common World Domination by PinocchioP! Their color-coded lyrics can be found here :)

MxC: oh boy this one's a doozy. so the idea here is like... there are underground music rings? which sounds wild but like if music is vaguely the lifeblood of this world i DONT CARE it can happen! i don't wanna make it life-threatening tho so its more like... you get blacklisted from everything. which for shiho--who got sucked into this world in an attempt to find bandmates--is VERY BAD. but shiho's given a little bit to find a band before their first performance, but with l/n definitely gone their separate ways (and she never wanted to involve them in the first place) she's kinda stuck. enter: airi and ena! both of them had been watching the music battles, unsatisfied with their current lives (airi having just quit idol/tv work, ena just frustrated over her art), but airi knows shiho thru miya, and when she heard about shiho's impending doom, she resolved herself to very quickly learn guitar and join her group, roping ena (who has a little bit of drum experience from akito and mom) into it as well. meanwhile, while all of this is going on, kohane (being the sweet soul she is) has been trailing shiho out of concern, but then is entirely horrified at the underground battles bc shes still pre-canon meek. but she really wants to help shiho, so she agrees to try and learn keyboard. after clearing the first battle, shiho and her group are safe--for now. they'll have to clear a lot more battles if they want to escape the underground their untitled is Hello Builder by UtsuP since i wanted them to have harsher rock songs than l/n (bordering on metal-ish)! color-coded lyrics here :)

AWR: funny story--all of the above units were made in the order listed! so i got to AWR and... i have ichika, minori, emu, and akito. and im like "NONE OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE ANYTHING IN COMMON". and then i went. "WAIT. THATS IT!" so here's how AWR goes: ichika still tries to reform l/n, but fails; minori is still trying to become an idol; and emu is still trying to revive the wonder stage. all three of them, all attending miya ofc, end up bonding over this and they start thinking. is there a way to satisfy all three of their dreams (band, idol, and show) at once? and at FIRST the answer is "no lol" so they go exploring. and somehow someway (workin on that) word finds out about this and some guy on vivid street dares akito to try and fix em into shape in a week. akito--being akito--accepts quite hotheadedly, then quickly realizes that maybe this wasnt a good idea?? because EVERYONE has a different music taste and its almost impossible to keep up with them all!!! but eventually they do figure it all out, and by the end none of them wanted to split apart or anything. AWR is i think the group that has the least amount of direction which might be on purpose. i think (again im rambling rn so) part of their story is figuring out what their direction is going to be! their untitled is Lip Sync by DECO*27, written as a part of holo*27 (hi no im not rlly into vtubers i just like their music) but i count it bc its written by a voca producer and this would not be the first time a non-vocaloid sung a unit song (cough cough mafumafu and tuyu). you CAN find my color-coded lyrics here.... but i did the translations. which means they're pretty much 98% google translated then bonked around to make sense. i dont know japanese please dont sue me

This was supposed to be posted forever ago but I just saved it in my drafts and never realized it.

@darkchocolatekitkat 's Nitpick November about Dust in the show inspired me to explain how Dust works in my AU a little bit. I decided to drop some Dust types that weren't working for me and change some of their colors. I find Dust such an interesting part of RWBY's world because it gives you a good excuse for why the world's technology is so advanced, but they still haven't gone to the moon. I just feel like elaborating on this world building a little bit. For example, Dust isn't just a weapon, it's also used as a power source for household items and transportation, in the same way electricity is used. This is why the SDC has such a chokehold in the city, they've ensured that Remnant City literally cannot live without them.

Fire Dust is red and can be used for a number of attacks, explosions, flame throwing, regular old ammunition, but it also is used in central heating systems, ovens, microwaves, toasters, waffle irons, stoves, and sometimes will be woven into the insides of winter clothing to keep people warm.

Ice dust is light blue and used basically for long range stabbing, sheilding, and as a sort of grease trap substitute. Basically all the ways Weiss uses it in the show. It's also used in fridges, freezers, coolers and air conditioners.

These two types of dust are also used in lunchboxes to ensure the food inside either stays hot or cold.

Lightning Dust is yellow and used as basically a taser during battle, it's also used in all sorts of electrical items. Although now that I'm thinking about it, all of the items that are usually electrical can be taken care of by other types of dust. I'll figure this one out eventually.

Rock dust is black now so that three types of dust are team RWBY'S colors. In battle it can be used to change the battlefield's structure and create shields. It's primarily used as a mining and architecture tool and will sometimes be used for sculpting as well as being put in dust paint.

I changed gravity dust from purple to indigo blue because Ironwood uses gravity dust and I wanted it to fit into his color theme. Gravity Dust can be used in multiple ways on the battlefield, but its main purpose is transportation. It's used in airships and sometimes decorations.

When I saw that post and read the suggestion that hard light dust should be white, I kind of just ran with it. It makes sense since in the white trailer Weiss's rapier lit up as she was preparing her final move, (which I'm totally keeping) and it would probably get rid of the weird electric blue color all the screens in the show have. Which is a good idea to me because I want the background aesthetics for this AU to match the trailer style of the backgrounds being the main girls' colors, so white scroll and TV screens it is!

There's other things about Dust that I inferred from the show, like how if it's hit by something too fast or hard, it will immediately activate, but if it's slowly and gently ground down, it will become a fine powdery substance that can be activated with a gentle touch or prompting. When used in dust paint or woven into clothing, it glows automatically without necessarily being activated.

But so far this is what I've got. If anyone has any suggestions for what lightning dust can be used for, I'd be happy to hear them! So far all I'm thinking is maybe lightbulbs because hard light dust is usually just for TV and scroll screens and the occasional shield during battle rather than an actual source of light, but at the same time I feel like I'm only doing that just because I need to figure out what lightning Dust can be used for in this world.

3. What fandoms do you write for? TGCF obviously is the main one, and Tolkien fic is something I regularly write because it feels like going home. I dipped my toes into Genshin fic this year and I've been known to randomly drop one-off fics for other fandoms when the brainworms hit!

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

After Hours. The magnum opus. Deserves its place at the top.

I Want to Ki** You. I never expected this fic to get so popular so it amuses me that it's still near the top.

Further Precautions. Dumb humor win!

Carved in bone, heart engraved. The trope inversion amnesia fic!

Bet On It. So near and dear to my heart that I have spent the last two years trying to scrub off the serial numbers for publication and if that ever happens, it'll be amusing to see who recognizes it.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I used to, but then a depression era hit and now I have Inbox (666) and it fills me with dread to look at the number. I do read each and every comment and 9 times out of 10 I start tearing up even if it's something short like "loved this, thanks!"

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I'm too sappy to do actual unhappy endings, but Still Have Time sort of implies a cycle of toxic breakups that can't be fixed.

... I also forgot that I have that one Celebrimbor/Annatar pre-torture fic, which is objectively much worse than breakups now that I think about it. Does it count when Tolkien is the one who wrote the death-by-torture ending for Tyelpë, though?

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All of them!!!!! But I'll nominate Money Maker, because it's the only fic I think I have ever written, for any fandom, that involves the couple getting married at the end. I bullied them so hard in this AU that I decided they earned it.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Never in the comments themselves, but I saw people being dicks about my writing on Twitter every now and then, which is the unfortunate downside of having a well-known fic in fandom. Not everyone has to like my fics, but like... I can see what you're saying on the public forum in the community that I myself am active in, guys.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? *gestures at my AO3 profile*

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? The most I've done is throw in a cameo from other MXTX fandoms, and I guess that one self-indulgent Sk8/tgcf fic that lives in my drafts and will never see the light of day. I just don't find "they meet!" to be enough of a plot to be worth reading or writing. The thought of writing all that introducing sounds like hell, sorry.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yup, there was that time the person almost word-for-word replicated Still Have Time. They claimed it was an accident and apologized before taking it down when I commented, but that wasn't fun. I felt like a jerk for commenting even though it was blatant theft; they even left kudos on my fic :/

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, I have a handful of my fics translated into Russian thanks to some Twitter pals!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Sadly no. I always thought this would be fun, though, so if anyone wants to try it sometime... just sayin'........ my inbox open....

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? 300,000+ of my AO3 wordcount is for Fengqing and they're always going to be one of the most specialest ships ever for me for many reasons, but I also feel like I have to give a shoutout to Maedhros/Fingon in Tolkien fandom for being my longest-running ship? I got into them in high school and they're the ship that I feel I can just sit down and write something for them whenever I want.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? There was that Fengqing police AU I started and I thought it would be good, but it ended up not really feeling like them and that was part of what pushed me to focus on original writing instead of fanfic this year. Funnily enough, I Frankensteined some of the concepts from that AU into Constellate, which is to date my only unfinished WIP on AO3. I never really had a plan for what I was doing with that fic and I thought I could just power through it, which failed miserably.

16. What are your writing strengths? Humor, probably! It's hard to be funny in writing, but I do try.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? I have about a year's worth of fic that needs to be line edited and reposted because I was cueing--sentences like "He felt that he was afraid" rather than "His heart pounded in his chest" etc. A writing teacher pointed it out to me this summer and I've been consciously trying to fix it, but I know a lot of my fics are worse because of this.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I never see this done well in fic. Personally, if I'm writing Chinese characters in China in an English language fic, it's implied that they're speaking Chinese, so there's no need to stick "Hao jiu bu jian" in quotation marks, yknow? It only makes sense to change languages if it's implied that this section of language is different from the rest of the narrative, and even then it can be distracting in a bad way to have it written out rather than saying "'Hello,' he greeted in French."

19. First fandom you wrote for? Lord of the Rings probably. I'm not going to look at my FFN profile to check.

20. Favorite fic you've written? I have lots of favorites for lots of reasons, but I'll give a shoutout to No smoke without fire this time because it's my only OC-centric fic and I'm happy that people like it anyway even though OCs aren't really a thing in danmei fandom.

This is the version 2, but including version one just like as a reminder of what was which I’ll throw as a reblog onto this. As I’ve been trying to rehone things with this, and feel free to ask more questions, though I may take a bit to respond as I am sick right now and there are storms brewing in my area. 

Plus working on a sort of side blog about my original/inspired projects, that isn’t just daydreaming based but most are and just a general brainrot blog to work on the exclusive “mega paracosm” (daycosm 3) into a more defined version with only inspired characters and not straight up canon characters. 

The major locations of my paracosms like the previously mentioned version 1 are not consistent enough yet to talk a good chunk about, it’s kind of like a mmo or a first draft right now so going to go onto to talk about some paras, these aren’t all nor all main paras as the paras that are focused on change a lot, with new ones being added based on newer or even older interests coming back, and/or a hyperfixation. But as mentioned in version 1 they are super violetial and are prone to change.

Taking inspiration from @/Theaufaverse and their gangs/groupings of characters [their blog isn’t strictly daydreaming based], though this did exist in my paracosm beforehand I’m putting generally more focus on it and making it more obvious. But you’ll probably see other non-popular media/creations being used as inspiration like @/spherearc and the council of favorites [though this did exist beforehand in my paracosm it just was never named]

Though not going fully in depth about every para, I'm going to try to do an overview-ish about them. Feel free to ask more questions, and if anyone has old paras they want to see try to get used, or a paracosm they aren’t working on anymore feel free to talk to me. idk im bored.

Current system’s paracosms for those curious and general status:

Daycosm 3 - The system’s Centrecosm, it’s a blanket paracosm with various events and groups being their own subcosm. This paracosm is very much just primparas, various alter paraselves, and paratenres. This is a story about time loops and cycling, and how you can always give things a new try. But also about loss, forgiving and letting go.

Rpverse - This is a daycosm 3 “buddycosm” aka these two paracosms are so intertwined but Are Not subcosms of each other. This paracosm isn’t talked about much these days as it needs a lot more work than daycosm 3 to get presentable. A Lot of daycosm 3 paras have counterparts here. Active.

Into the flip pit - Active, a blanket paracosm which subcosms follow various groups. A collab paracosm by the system, which is mainly Fnaf & Dsaf based though there are non-fnaf related things included like Faith the unholy trinity and EcopportunityX, along with a small bit of pokemon.

Nightcosm -3 - This is just the blanket paracosm for various aus of daycosm 3, each au are typically their own subcosm. Though rpverse aus are typically lumped in here just for convenience. This paracosm is always active though what subcosms are is a different story.

Aether life - This is the current name of the cookie run paracosm, majorly inactive. This needs alot of reworking as we really want to strip the paracosm of all the cookie run barcodes as we’re so tired of the actions of the parent company devsisters.

Fallen hearts - This is a paracosm based on exomemories of various system members, this is an active paracosm but weary of sharing it. Because most paras are all paraselfs for various alters and a lot of them are fictive introjects with their canon source selves being commonly seen as sexy, hot, ect. Which most of the alters are weirded out about being directed towards them.

Minecosm - Dormant, this paracosm only gets mentioned as it was the system’s first major paracosm being based off of minecraft. Though there are some attempts to bring it back, though this paracosm was originally a sandbox paracosm which is why it’s not touched much.

Shape realmverse - Sorta active, a paracosm that’s a batshit insane rewrite of a silly roleplay the system got attached to but ended up hating how the source went down. This paracosm is technically a mutual paracosm as the original sources still give influence to this. Though this paracosm isn’t as developed as others due to how much effort it takes to rewrite the lore.

Three realms - Sorta active, Mutual paracosm technically, a paracosm I stole from my mutual after they stopped enjoying the og source. But I’m honestly scrubbing the barcodes of the source from this because I’m so tired of said source. 

Scorned Reverence Ava - Semi-Inactive, this paracosm’s activity really depends on drake as that’s his paracosm. This is an animator vs animation paracosm, though a lot of common fanon hcs are purposefully Not canon here. As this paracosm is lowkey also drake’s exomemories of his source.

Of Ash and Fire - Semi-inactive, a crossover of some daycosm 3 subcosms and a sort of friend’s story. Though this paracosm is likely getting turned into a subcosm for daycosm 3 and the fictparas having their barcodes scrubbed off.

Of Smoke and roses - Active, a hard to describe paracosm but I’d consider it a PAradaptive. It’s a super personal paracosm that is a personal crossover of 3 medias along with daycosm 3. This paracosm likely will not be mentioned further due to the personal details in it.

🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?

90% of the scene's I've drafted atm are on pen and paper and are too much of a mess (both literally speaking and in the sense that half the sentences are barely coherent at all) to bother sharing.

I DO, however, have a finished scene from chapter 3 of 'solid ground'. So I can share a (spoiler free) snippet from that if anyone is interested:

💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?

ONLY ONE....... I love this stupid show but there is so much I would change. Obviously there are more serious aspects of the show that I would change but I won't go into those right now.

I guess it's a toss up between the Snow and David 'we put our daughter's potential darkness in an egg' plot (because it's SUCH a disservice to their characters and it's just an awful, terrible plot all around, I think everyone in fandom will agree with that) and between....August (for extremely biased, obvious reasons).

NOT THAT I WOULD CHANGE MUCH ABOUT HIM, PER SE. But.... 👉👈 I wish we'd gotten more of him. He was a character, much like Ruby, that had HUGE potential to be a secondary main cast character! His reunion with his dad didn't have to be the end of his character arc! He had soooo much backstory to explore and was generally well received by fans and I'm still sad that the show felt the need to nerf him by turning him into a child. Like.... just because he had chemistry with Emma, it didn't mean that he actually had to be a love interest for her, you know?

THIRD thing I would change is Tamara's character + motivations, but we don't have time to get into that right now. (more thoughts on that and august HERE however)

I have two active WIPs that I'm actually working on (fake/real and mess is mine (the latter being much more active rn)) and one that I may or may not ever get back to (...the Bo Peep AU. aka, the AU where Lampwick was adopted at a young age by warlord bo peep. (it's a long story dw about it)) also, there's the xmas hallmark movie divorce AU but that's less of a 'wip' an more of an extended joke that me and @naivesilver talk about sometimes.

12 - How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?

i have... five wips in my docs right now! four i've been working on recently, and three of them that i'm more actively working on.

15 - What WIP are you taking into next year with you?

probably just the three in progress ones - overtime, scientific approach, and lost and founf, found and lost. i might come back to the other two wips if i get more inspiration to continue them, but we'll see! (they're both very chill and cute rivalshipping fics, probably one oneshot and one possible au series, so i might still get back around to poking at them again, but it depends on how many brainworms i get for those)

honestly, i think one of my favorite bits might be a section from a chapter draft that actually just never made the cut for overtime? which is a shame, because i did do some pretty good and fun writing in there imo 👀 i might have to reuse some of it as a oneshot... hmmm.

Yugi moved like he belonged on the dance floor. Kaiba was captivated, watching him through the lights and the crowd, moving like a fluid, writhing mass. Even with his smaller stature, Kaiba was sure he could have picked him out anywhere. Dressed much differently than he did at the office, this was more familiar; the wider choker was more pronounced, and the darker, more provocative clothes were a stark contrast to the cleaner daytime look with the shirts and slacks and vests. Tight pants clung to his thighs and legs like they might have been tailor made for him - their leather-like look seemed to have some stretch, but the texture looked to be rougher than latex. Despite himself, Kaiba wanted nothing more than to run his hands over it, to feel it for himself. He’d have been lying if he’d said he’d only come there on a whim. As had become the regular routine, he’d kept half an eye on Yugi’s movements, more so than usual now that they were in more direct proximity again - he’d assumed Yugi would simply return to his apartment for the night after their work day ended and stay there, but instead he’d dipped back outside only an hour later, and Kaiba had been too intrigued to let the matter rest. There was a pattern to this, he was pretty sure. Yugi didn’t go out to the club district on his good days, and as often as not, he didn’t go home alone. The nightclub was… really not Kaiba’s scene, but he was well aware it was Yugi’s. This was hardly the first time the surveillance had picked him up in this district of the city, not by a long shot, though this was the first time he’d actually taken the time to come have a look for himself, and it was fascinating. Yugi looked to be a couple of drinks into the night alright, but it didn’t hamper his dancing; if anything, he seemed to relax more between each glass, losing himself in the rhythm and the neon lights obscuring much of the goings-on around them. Kaiba couldn’t stand to just watch for much longer. He walked over to the bar, taking a seat at the counter by where Yugi had gone to get his previous drink, ordering one for himself and another of what Yugi had just had. Before long, Yugi was by the counter again to order another, pausing when a drink was slid in front of him before he could speak up. A moment of dead silence passed, with Yugi staring at the drink in mild confusion, before he connected the dots and looked around to see who had bought it for him, and— froze when his eyes landed on Kaiba, who was still sipping the last drops of his own beer.

🌻 How often do you read your own fics?

oh, very often. the thing about me and my fanfics is that, while i don't post things much at all, i am always writing. i have sooo many first drafts lying around that'll probably never be seen by anyone but myself, some of them are even written longhand in physical journals.

for a long time, i've written with myself as my only intended audience. and i mean, most of the time i'm still my only audience, i have a very nervous personality and sharing things makes my brain itch a bit. (but y'kno, i am working on that.) (i've been doing six sentence sundays and wip wednesdays with the simon snow fandom the last two weeks and that's been a delight.) (a terrifying delight, but still a delight.) so yeah, i actually sit around and like… read my own fanfics for fun all the time, over and over again. i'm extremely fond of my own stories.

💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?

unrequited love diseases.

and i don't just mean hanahaki disease, although i do love writing hanahaki fanfics, i'm also really fond of star tears disease and forgotten love syndrome (and anything else in that general sphere).

i'm not working on it actively at the moment because i'm focused on a different story right now, but i actually have a draft in my gdocu for a simon snow fanfic about a fatal unrequited love disease i created myself called marigold's heart syndrome. i dunno what it is about love diseases that makes my silly brain light up like a string of fairy lights, but i find them so overwhelmingly tragic.

A cigarette hangs from between his teeth with a thin ribbon of white smoke twirling from the tip. He looks sad, Connor thinks. Lonely, and terribly beautiful. Light-eyed, olive-skinned. Long and lean and frayed at the edges like a sheet of weathered parchment paper. His waistcoat is unbuttoned and hanging open around his hips, while the rest of the first class maunders behind him like an expensive quatrefoil fog. “Connor!” Connor blinks, and the world comes tumbling back into focus. He looks down at his sketchpad, at the single dark, distracted line marring the outline of what should’ve been the little brown-haired girl, then back up at his brother. “What?” Silas cocks an eyebrow at him, knowing and unimpressed. “Don’t even think about it.” “I won’t. I mean, I wasn’t.” Connor sets his charcoal aside, turning to unfurl his pencil case. He could feel her magic in the room with them, and it was white-hot and ancient. Like something from the very core of the Earth. Two, Baz comes back, and Simon promptly forgets why he’d ever given half a shit about the toff prat being gone in the first place. They’ve worked out something of a truce with each other, (it would’ve been nice if Natasha Grimm-Pitch’s visit had only been a courtesy call, but of course things can never be that simple, so now Simon has gone and roped himself into solving her apparent murder,) but suppose that truce must not extend to Baz cutting back on being a right shit about everything because his mood is fouler than ever and, for once, Simon really doesn’t have the energy to deal with their whole bloody song and dance thing they do. Because he’s still sick. Because three, somewhere in the middle of scouring the Catacombs and razing the Wavering Wood and his sworn enemy’s dead mother appearing in his bedroom, Simon started coughing up flower petals. Baz likes to tell Simon he’s an idiot. And sometimes Simon believes him, but most of the time he doesn’t—because he’s not an idiot. (Also because Baz is a fucking twit.) He knows what the petals mean. He’s seen flower spitting disease before.

Where do you publish your work?

My fic is on AO3 and FFN. I'm slowly trying to get it all copied over to AO3 because FFN is just a disaster. I have two original short stories on AO3. Someday, I'll have another answer.

What medium/application/etc. do you write in or with?

Mostly scrivener.

Do you collaborate with others?

dulce-de-leche-go and I wrote a dark Voldemort wins AU together, and it was really fun, but every other time I've tried to collaborate with someone it hasn't worked out.

How much editing do you do before you publish?

I used to use betas for fic, and proofread. Now I mostly run anything I write to share through Grammarly and call it a day.

I do multiple drafts of original stuff before sending it off to be rejected lol - massive developmental retreads. polishing of characters arcs. Adding of foreshadowing. So much.

Do you listen to music when you write?

How do you decide what to write about?

My brain itches me until I write a thing down.

When do you write?

Usually in the mornings. Right now, I take my kid to weight training, sit on the lawn outside, and write or edit.

How often do you write?

As often as I can. Preferably every day. In my dream world, I'd have hours every day to only work. If I don't write for too long, I get squirrely and weird in a bad way.

Do you take requests? Why/why not?

Yeah, in theory, but I don't have a lot of time for fic right now, and am sort of out of fandom. Someone sort of randomly sent me four prompts via asks, and I'm still a little confused how that came out of nowhere. I don't even know them. Very confusing. Might do one of them anyway if time burbles up.

Is there any genre or type of story you want to write but are hesitant to?

Nah, I have no shame. If I want to write a thing, I'll write it.

Write 100 words, get up and do 10 small tasks. Like... very small. Putting one dish away counts as a task. After two hours, you have 1500 words and a cleaner house.

Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike? I go for it straightaway. When I get an idea and can't exorcise it due to things like Operating A Motor Vehicle it literally just churns inside of me until I can. I wrote 80% of Black Shore as jot notes in a parking lot while eating a burger with one hand. My ideas are less patient than me. which ha ha truly says a lot.

Do you share your fic ideas, or do you keep them to yourself? Oh, share for sure. If I ever manage to conceive, draft, and publish a whole entire story without telling anyone about it I want a PRIZE.

How many wips do you have? What fandoms/pairings are they for? I was like "two! wait three - no, four" anyways I went and looked in my one (1) fic drafting document (clocking in at a healthy 90K lol) and counting everything I've put words down for and intend to put MORE words down for it would be, uh, haha fifteen

Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time? I try to only focus on one but right now I have an overgrown drabble and a chapter for Oaths that I both equally want to have been done YESTERDAY so I have been bouncing between them both for a few days. I do think I could really dig doing drabbles THAT BEHAVED THEMSELVES in between longfic chapters though!

Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around? In order, but I have no qualms putting [thing happens] and moving on because I already have to consciously try so hard to keep momentum and not constantly faff about with wording as I go. I have slipped up with Oaths a couple times now because there's just SO MUCH to write for it lol

Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them? I was labouring for a while under the delusion I was 'outlining' but I have since realized I am actually just writing fics as fast as possible in a very loose way first before I forget anything, because apparently most outlines do not have, uh enormous chunks of fully-written dialogue, play-by-play actions, and detailed descriptions of scenes and character beats? the only time I do not do this has been prompt fills but it actively makes my brain ache a little to try and remember everything inside my head while my fingers slowly write it in full lol

Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles? Titles for canon fics have all come part way through. They just Show Up, and I know it's right when it Feels Right? I like punchy short titles that are outright utilitarian OR that you read after reading the fic and go 'HEY' because it was The Theme All Along. For AUs I am clinically incapable of thinking of them as anything other than 'Descriptor AU' which is why it took me over a week after posting it and two chapters in to title my Tam Lin AU

What’s your favorite fic you’ve posted? I am a terrible parent because I was going to say 'I could make a case for any of them' but it's actually any of them except Emissary of the Night. I wish I could even say I feel guilty haha. Nothing against it at all! I'm happy with it and proud of the response it's gotten, I'm just not attached.

What fic are you proudest of? Border Country. No matter what else I write, it will always be Border Country. If I publish a real life novel and it wins awards it will actually, still, be Border Country. And it will be Border Country because that was second story I wrote. Doing something previously unthinkable once is pretty wild. But I have been known to do wild shit! Doing it a second time, consciously, right after the first one went so well that a part of you is saying very persuasive unhinged things like: stop while you're ahead, lightning only strikes once, it likely won't be as good or as well-received and you won't be able to cope with that, better to not find out, don't make people have to humour you, Gloam, that's rude, be satisfied with this alone, was the actual wildest thing I've done. I started writing a second story immediately after Saint Morpheus because the response was overwhelming and incredible, and I knew if I didn't post something again within a week or two that would be the only thing I ever posted, probably. So I wrote Border Country in five days, posted it, felt like I'd defeated a curse, and I am so proud of me for it.

What’s your favorite writing compliment you’ve gotten? Black Shore getting printed, annotated, filled with marginalia and brilliant analysis, and being written an entire formatted essay in the comments about it. I wept! I literally wept and phoned my best friend about it. Literary analysis is a love language and getting that comment forced me to briefly realize that I am for the first time ever existing on the other side of the medium of written word that I have loved my whole entire life. surreal!! incredible!!

What do you tend to get complimented on the most about your writing? unsure! but I like it the most when people Have Strong Feelings @ me, quote lots of bits and pieces, or make any comment on Themes (see above lmao)

Hi there! 😊 First of all, it makes me so happy that you're interested and asking about my fics. It means more than you know to know that someone is actually interested in the reality TV premises and are excited to read something that I wrote.

To get a little personal, I haven't written much lately, or been very active on here for a while. We had a death in my family about a month ago, and then a friend of mine suddenly passed away at the beginning of October. So essentially I've spent this month in various states of grief, which as you can imagine, is not the best for fic writing, or engaging in 9-1-1 content in general. I have been slowly getting back into it though, trying to write a little at a time until I get my motivation back.

For more specific updates about each of the fics I'm working on:

🔪 Whodunnit — I'm taking a break from this one until death becomes a little less... topical in my life lol. I'm definitely going to come back to it at some point (I've actually been thinking up ways to change it so I don't have to make it include deaths of characters we all love), but I'm turning my focus toward other fics for now.

✈ Amazing Race — I don't want to promise anything since I don't know what my workload is going to be for the next few months, but I'm fairly certain that I will have this done by the end of the year, or end of January at the latest. This fic is either going to be a one-shot or a two-chapter fic, so much shorter than the others. I already have a lot of the meat drafted out, so most of what's left is writing up the last few legs and building out the connections between the "big" scenes. (I'm really, really excited about this one)

💖 Are You The One? — This one is a little tricky. I'm almost halfway done with this one (7 chapters written out of a projected 15). Problem is, I'm not super happy with chapter 7 and I've kind of been putting off editing it for that reason. I think I'll feel better once I just sit down and confront the issues I've been having with it head-on, but just finding the motivation to do it has been tough. I've been writing it in strict sequential order up until this point, but I have a really detailed outline for the rest, so I might just jump around to the scenes I've been wanting to write to get the creativity flowing and worry about the rest later.

🌴 Survivor — Ah, my beloved that also simultaneously makes me want to bang my head against the wall. I wrote about this in another ask, but there are a few reasons why this one has been taking a while and they pretty much just stem from the fact that I just want it to be really, really good. The first being that I've slowly kind of fallen out of love with Lone Star over time — I still plan on watching it and I don't think it's bad or anything, but it was getting really hard to find the motivation to write from the POV of those characters. So I changed the cast to all OG characters, which has been really exciting for me. It just feels better and it helps the story a LOT that not everyone in the cast is a character we're supposed to like. However, the downside to this change is I had 100k words worth of the fic with the old cast drafted out, so now I have to completely re-write a lot of the scenes and change storylines to get them to fit with the new cast.

Also, unlike my other fics, the Survivor one isn't completely focused on Buddie. It has scenes from everyone's POV, and each person in the cast has their own story arc throughout the game. Buddie will definitely be a big part of it, but there's also a fair amount that has nothing to do with them. I just love all the OG 9-1-1 characters and wanted to write something that gave everyone their time to shine — I also thought the actual Survivor game would be more fun and interesting if we hear what everyone's thinking along the way, rather than from just two people.

Full disclosure, I am in the middle of editing chapter 2 of this fic, so still a ways to go on that, but as the number of characters voted out increases, the chapters will become faster to write and edit. Also as I start finishing up stuff on my other fics, it'll open up more time for me to work on this 😄 I'm very committed to getting it done, regardless of how long it takes!

Tadpole, Hawk, Moth

Tadpolekit, Mothkit, and Hawkkit are born to Goldenflower and Tigerstar. [Tadpole is an almost black tabby, Mothkit is almost identical to her mother, and Hawkkit looks how Bramblestar does in canon]

They are still in the nursery when their father is exiled. The kits are notably hurt by him leaving.

When whispers about the kits start, Tadpolekit is quick to fight and kick and protect his siblings from any rumors, causing quite a ruckus. He's also close to his uncle, Snowkit, especially once cats start to realize the white tom is deaf.

Mothkit is clearly hurt the most by what's going on, feeling lost on why everything was happening. She sticks closer and closer to her brothers, though the words against her aren't as harsh as with Tadpolekit and Hawkkit.

Hawkkit is harder to read, as he acts like nothing is wrong and nothing happened, instead choosing to pretend everything is fine, though he slowly is less and less connected to his brother and sister as a result.

When Snowkit is grabbed by the hawk, Tadpolekit tries to save him. He doesn't, but he slows the hawk down enough for a warrior to snag the bird and save Snowkit. Tadpolekit and Speckletail become very protective of Snowkit as a result.

They grow and become Hawkpaw, Tadpolepaw, Mothpaw, and Snowpaw - their mentors, respectively, being Firestar, Brightheart, Cinderpelt, and Brackenfur [with help from Speckletail]

Not long after they're apprentices, though, Mothpaw and Hawkpaw go missing and cannot be found. The Clan panics until the next gathering, where it's revealed Hawkpaw and Mothpaw were in ShadowClan.

Mothpaw isn't happy there, but she was pressured by Hawkpaw to go. It turns out, too, that Tadpolepaw knew about this, but didn't leave with them as he wanted nothing to do with his father. Mothpaw is now Littlecloud's apprentice and Hawkpaw is being mentored by Blackfoot.

Hawkpaw also makes a scene at the gathering, saying how ThunderClan chased them out because they kept judging them on their kin, and specifically says its Firestar's fault

The rest of the gathering isn't that pleasant

Time goes and when Tigerstar is killed, Tadpolepaw finds himself unable to feel sorry for his father and this angers Hawkpaw beyond belief.

Tadpolepaw asks Mothpaw to come back and Hawkpaw stops her from leaving, saying that Tadpolepaw abandoned them, too

Tadpolepaw is outraged that his brother feels this way, feeling more about this than he did his father's death, which only proves to piss off Hawkpaw more

Mothpaw apologizes to Tadpolepaw, stating she needs to be there for Hawkpaw.

He tells her she doesn't, but still watches as his sister leaves with their brother.

The battle against BloodClan happens about the same way, with all the apprentices - including medicine cat apprentice Mothpaw - coming together to kill Bone. Hawkpaw also attempts to ight Scourge, but ends up having half of his face ripped to shreds. He spends many days in the medicine cat den, seething.

As warriors they become Tadpolefrost, Snowheart, and Hawkclaw Mothpaw eventually earns the full medicine cat name Mothwhisper

Bramble, Tawny

Bramble and Tawny are born to Sasha after she returns to the forest. Sasha is weak and tired, but does her best to care for her two kits. [Bramble is a brown and cream tabby and Tawny is a seal point cat - both of them are massive kits, too, which was stressful for a lone molly giving birth]

Sasha eventually starts getting sick, but is afraid to turn to ShadowClan for help.

She eventually grows too weak and drags herself and her kits towards the Clans. She is taken in by RiverClan, but they are unable to save her in time and she passes away a few days later.

Bramble and Tawny, who are still young, are named Bramblekit and Tawnykit, and given to the queens, who all take turns taking care of the kits.

Tawny was eventually apprenticed to Leopardstar and Bramble was apprenticed to Blackclaw [it should also be noted that around this time is when Leafkit and Squirrelkit are born in ThunderClan]

Featherpaw and Stormpaw, who are young apprentices at this time, are curious about these new kits and are glad to have potential friends.

The two brother and sister duos become fast friends and teach each other everything they need to know.

However, Featherpaw feels a tinge of worry every time she looks at Bramblepaw, especially as he gets older. She brushes this off, but it doesn't stop the worried thoughts.

Tawnypaw and Featherpaw also get really close, even after Featherpaw becomes Feathertail, and the two are best friends. Tawnypaw also actively defends Feathertail while she works through her trauma and gives her her space when she needs it.

Bramblepaw had a harder time making friends, secluding himself for a bit as he felt a strange tugging at his dreams every time he closed his eyes. He did eventually become friends with Feathertail, Stormfur, and Dawnflower later on in his apprentice training.

Tawnypaw and Bramblepaw earn the warrior names Tawnyfang and Bramblefur

Where Their Stories Intertwine

The chosen cats for the journey are Feathertail, Crowpaw, Tadpolefrost, and Mothwhisper Stormfur and Tawnyfang refuse to let Feathertail go alone and Tadpolefrost gets joined by his apprentice, Squirrelpaw, whom he can be frustrated with, but he still thinks highly of her as he can't deny that her spunky attitude is refreshing.

Tawnyfang and Feathertail at this point are mates and openly so as they are rather affectionate

Things go as they do in canon, though with the new cast of characters and with new interactions. I have few memories of the journey itself, honestly, and will need to reread TNP once more fdksh

When they reach the lake, Mothwhisper pulls Tadpolefrost to the side and tells him that Hawkclaw is getting worse and she's worried about what he may do in the future.

Tadpolefrost wants to brush this off, but something deep down feels a familiar dread.

Back in ShadowClan, Hawkclaw is currently mentoring Smokepaw, becoming a model warrior and someone Blackstar clearly trusts, though there is the bias with the two being a former mentor and apprentice. Bramblefur finds himself jealous of the ShadowClan warrior, as he seems to be the star of that Clan, but he doesn't speak about his envy.

During a gathering, Bramblefur notices the ThunderClan medicine cat apprentice, Leafpaw, watching him. After the gathering, he confronts the apprentice, who apologizes and admits she didn't know she was staring. She admits he reminds her of someone, but before he can press for answers, she ends up being called away.

Returning to the journeying cats as they start their return, they come across the Tribe. When Feathertail almost sacrifices herself, Tawnyfang gets in the way. She doesn't die killing Sharptooth, but she is badly injured. Feathertail and Stormfur stay behind with her, leaving Tadpolefrost, Squirrelpaw, and Mothwhisper to return to the Clans.

Bramblefur and Leafpaw work together to save cats who are taken by twolegs, Bramblefur getting them out and Leafpaw treating them for their injuries.

But Tadpole is the one to kill Hawk, who almost became leader as he was actively trying to kill Blackstar after Russetfur's "mysterious" death

Tadpole did try reasoning with his brother, but after he realized there was no hope, he killed him

I don't even know which of the Tiger kids I want to have trained in the Dark Forest jakffds

And to get some side notes out

Squirrelflight doesn't have a planned mate, but she doesn't get with Ashfur

I'm not sure if I'd go with LeafCrow or LeafBramble [as they are close in this AU, but idk if they'd become mates], but one of those two toms is the father of The Three. Also, before anyone complains, there's only a 6 moon age gap between Bramble and Leaf and they wouldn't have feelings for each other until they're both older. Though, I can't imagine they'd run away together and split mutually because they can't manage to keep meeting when they're a whole lake apart.

Squilf still lies for her sister and raises Holly, Jay, and Lion as her own

If Tadpole ever has his own kits, he names one Hawkkit after his brother, though I don't know who he'd be in a relationship with [maybe he gets with Daisy instead of Spiderleg?]

While in the Tribe, Tawny and Feather find a Tribe tom willing to help them and they become the proud mothers of Stonekit/Stonesplash, Silverkit/Silverfeather, and Ravenkit/Ravenstep Stone is a brown and gray tabby trans intersex tolly [uses he/him] Silver is a pale gray and white tom and Raven is a black tabby molly

Stonesplash ends up the RiverClan medicine cat and has to be partially tried by the other medicine cats after Mudfur passes away. He tries to convince Leopardstar to let Willowpaw train with him, but is denied for a while. He eventually wins and Willowshine, as a warrior apprentice, trains to be a medicine cat. It's not until moons later that it turns out the two had been flirting since they were apprentices.

Chapter 2

Bugzapper⚡💔: i have a proposition to make. 

Jiro flashes Mina her phone as she sips iced coffee in the blessed air conditioning of the cafe.

"That's never a good sign." She comments, moon bright eyes glued to the phone as she thinks. 

"What's not a good sign?" Uraraka asks from across the table, the two girls fill her in. 

"Oh." She racks her brain on what that could be, "Okay well I'm dying to know, now." 

🎵Music to my soul 🎶 : What do you want airhead? 

Jiro's text sent a surge of excitement through Kaminari. It was exactly what he needed after three hours of begging and bribing Bakugou to allow the sorority in or at least invite them. His fingers fly across the screen setting up a date and time for a "meeting over lunch" to discuss the proposition in further detail.  

Meanwhile across campus, you huff, eyes narrowed as a rare emotion is pulled from your fingertips in the form of deadly ice. Pulling the moisture from the air to freeze it or pulling any water towards you to keep your flank safe as your opponent rushes you at breakneck speeds. 

You hated this fucking guy, cocky, brash, so God damn arrogant in the way he held himself, in the way he spoke. It made you nauseous just thinking of him.Had you known he was the male star of this university you wouldn't have transferred, yet you still needed to transfer didn't you? Anything to get out from under the shadow of a certain Todoroki. 

No one cared to admit or to notice, that your quirk was different from Shoto's. You could manipulate water towards you to freeze, and manipulate whatever was already frozen. Your ice was denser and more durable than his and dare you say it colder than his too. Yet no one gave a shit, his was ice AND fire. You were just a one trick pony and a trick they already saw. Your opponent's taunting doesn't help matters much.

"I've already seen this before Ice Brat. Did ya forget where I fucking went to high school?" His hand heats the ice as he activates his quirk before three deafening blasts ring out. 

As you allow him to break down the ice you act on pure rage, securing some revenge from the first time he signed your hair. Pointed icicles lie in wait and once the wall is fully down you give him a nasty smirk before sending the straight his way. 

You're supposed to melt your weapons before they hit your opponent, neither of you are supposed to go all out per the professor's and college's strict rules in the athletics department but Bakugou always does. Somehow his big stupid mouth spews something that eggs you on. As if someone were shoving bamboo skewers beneath your skin, under your nails, sending you into an unheard of rage. 

Normally you were as your quirk, icy, unbothered by the world but Bakugou, God you could wring his neck. Freeze his hot blood as you watch him turn into slush beneath your feet. 

He expects you to abide by the rules, to splash him with glacier water but he realizes it too late. That you won't he let's off a quick blast, shattering two of the four deadly points. One grazes his cheek as he just barely dodges while the other lodges itself into his arm. 

You have half a mind to twist it. You pull at his blood bringing it into your arsenal. Blood red needles and bullets surround Bakugou. 

"I don't think you've seen this before.." You say darkly ready to release your hold and shred him into, give him a taste of his own medicine. Maybe he would see how bitter and nauseating he was. He smirks, opening his mouth to retort but you send your ice his way aiming for non vital spots although the ice creeps closer to your heart begging it to hit something vital. The inside of your ice palace begins to reek of burning sugar and spice, he plans to let out an explosion to bring this whole place down from the inside out. 

Just as he is about to detonate and just as the blood and ice are about to pierce skin the professor bursts into the gym.  

"I step out for five minutes and this is what happens?!"

The ice and blood return to liquid splashing across Bakugou as his skin pops. The professor takes in the damage from your ice and his explosions, still better controlled than most of his other students quirks. 

"I gotta stop pairing these two together." He murmurs to himself before dismissing class. With a flick of your wrist the ice fortress melts, returning to the reservoir below the gym floor, ignoring the molten glare that is sent your way.

"You're such a bitch." Bakugou growls as you pass, flinging blood from his fingers as he wipes at his face. You offer him a fake pitying smile before heading into the women's locker room. 

"Fucking asshole." You hiss, forcing the sight of his garnet gaze out of your mind. Instead turning your attention to your buzzing phone in your locker. It's a few missed calls and some texts in the girl's group chat. Briefly you wonder if you ever should have joined that stupid sorority, it was small, non toxic, and would look good should you need to transfer again. 

Not only did you somehow get elected the president but you also became friends with the three other ladies despite your best efforts not too. 

Mins: Prez we might have a way to save the sorority...lunch after you're done with training? 

IceQueen ❄: Hope it's good, the Dean already put the house up for sale. Let me get ready and I'll be there shortly. 

Mina presents her phone to the crowd around her, Kirishima, Denki, Sero, Jiro and Uraraka do a small celebration. Denki more so than anyone else, he knows the combined car washes will be more than enough to fix up the house, he also recently learned that you had the power of negotiation on your side. Having just listened to Mina retell the story of how you got free food for a month from a bar for yourself and your friends. And not from some sleaze who wanted to sleep with you either, no it was from the owner himself. 

Denki is hopeful and so are the ladies indicating that this may be his best idea yet. 

You arrive at the small bistro early, spying your party on the front patio. The three men had seen you in person before, they knew you were easy on the eyes but up close you were breathtaking. Manicured nails but nothing gaudy, normally nude or soft shades, light makeup, mascara at most as far as they could tell and your outfit was well put together. You were what the world called plus size but everyone else called thiccc. Your confidence oozing in your light blouse tucked into your black skinny jeans, uncaring that you had a pouch. 

You needed that extra fat to keep from freezing by your own quirk. The only thing you needed society to worry about was your intelligence and your power. 

Both were SSR ranked so what did you fucking care that your body was ranked lower. They were stupid in thinking you'd skimp power in the name of vanity. 

You recognize everyone at the table and internalize the dread you're feeling. Scheming is afoot and you're the last to arrive. You can tell by their half finished drinks and picked over appetizer, still you sit and act unaware. Denki goes to hold out his hand first for a formal introduction causing a sly cat smile to settle over your glossy lips. 

"No need, I'm aware of who the three of you are. Sero we share our lingual class, Denki, our chemistry class, and Kirishima we share two classes, world studies and villain hero theory. Truly a pleasure." You tell then your name before ordering something to drink from the lingering waitress. Sitting stick straight with your shoulders backs has the men mirroring you. 

"Well ladies I take it the plan to save the sorority involves these fine gentlemen." You ask coolly and they nod. After a moment of silence Mina and Denki go to speak. Awkwardly encouraging the other to speak until Minai clears her throat. 

"As you know they are a newly formed frat with Sero as their president. They moved into their house about a month ago and they say it is quite large. So they have invited us to move in." 

"How do you propose we ask the college to have a co-ed house? What does this fraternity home even look like?" They knew you would be quick to ask questions Mina answers the first while Denki provides the answer to the second. 

"Union and Diversity. Forming close relationships now to carry over into our hero careers." 

"The house needs some work but looks a lot better than what it did." Denki shows you before and after pictures as you gesture for his phone. He passes you his electric yellow case with nervous hope tingling beneath his skin. You swipe through the photos. 

"You boys did a great job on the outside. Inside needs a lot of work. Hardwoods will be easy to fix, they are original but don't seen to be damaged, a good scrub will spruce them up. Wait, are those?" You zoom in on the photo of the living room, "Are those foldable camping chairs and a VHS tv?" 

They gulp loudly as they nod, your purse your lips in disapproval. 

"I can fix that." You pass Denki back his phone, assuming that all the roommates will be present, "I see the main focus was the kitchen but some of the appliances seem to be on their last legs. I can fix that as well." 

"Soooo….So it's a yes?" Jiro asks, feeling relief for the first time in months since they received the letter of eviction. 

"Gotta get the college to agree first." You think on it a moment, "But I'm sure we can arrange that. Uraraka can you draft an email to the Dean requesting an official meeting regarding our sorority? Be sure to explain in detail our situation, how we are being forced to disband by their account and the solution we have. Make sure it's an afternoon meeting too. The dean hates to miss golf with our rival university's dean." 

With the plan set in motion all of you return to your evening classes. Jiro nudges Denki in the ribs, listening to his heart race from their closeness. 

"When are we going to tell her about Bakugou?" She throws her almost lover a look that he seems to wither beneath. His jaw tics before he retorts. 

"I think we should wait to see if this even works first." 

After a week the important meeting arrives and as you thought the Dean is already exhibiting signs of impatience. He is more than ready to wrap this up and you already know his answer is going to be no. Already trying to get it out before the four of you can even have a seat. 

Still you weren't the Ice Queen on campus for nothing. You saunter into the room, mineola folder filled with your copies of counterpoints pressed firmly to your chest, you can already see he doesn't have the copies you sent him. You place the folder down and open it, leafing through the pages as you speak. 

"This request is going to be approved and here are the reasons why. An example of sexism could be made that a new fraternity was approved housing, new housing, after a decades old sorority was deemed "too small" both parties are similar in count. Second funding and donations are easily influenced with letters to alumni and especially by attendees to this university. My transfer from YAU has brought in revenue of roughly 2.6 million dollars, increasing your diversity for women when this is normally a male dominated school. I am aware that my transfer had even encouraged other students from YAU to transfer here. Which I'm sure is one of your favorite bragging points to tell Dean Fraunk during your weekly golf trips isn't it? So it would truly be a shame if these points would come to light in the investigation of my return to YUA just months before the university sports festival. I do look amazing in Ice Blue you know. Matches my quirk a lot better than Maroon." You put the ball in his court, he is visibly upset, eyes flying to the facts that you've presented. All important, viable facts. You were right MMU was known to be a male dominated school and the media would have a field day if they uncovered a mistake he happened to look over. Not to mention you were his main bragging point, Dean Yuzi always talked about how he had stolen you, the female star of rising heroes, from YUA.  The silence in the room is amplified by the ticking of the clock, seconds accumulating into minutes as it counts down his T time with his old college buddy and rival. He gulps nervously, knowing what he has to do in order to keep both his bragging rights and a law suit under wraps. He looks up to you as you wear your stone cold face, making him think of a loan shark who hasn't been getting their payments on time. He is fearful for your future boss.  

"I believe I have no choice but to approve." 

"Correct." You respond, "Now we have a bit more to discuss. I noticed that classrooms 456 and 215 are being remodeled. Those gently used flat screens will be given to our house since it is technically college property. Common space 3 and 1 are being renovated in dorms A and B. We will accept the leather arm chairs as they are in good shape but we demand a new couch. I know it is in the budget as I help plan the budget. I also believe it is time for an allowance for our hybrid house." The Dean shrinks away from your tenacity, nodding as that is all he can do.  

"Well this is a generous offer and should cover most of the basic necessities such as a new fridge and mattress. The aesthetic we will be raising funds for. Kindly spread the word, we don't want to take up more of your time and be late with your 'meeting' with Dean Fraunk." You place a flyer on his desk as you turn on your heel. The rest of the sorority, mouth agape following suit. Yuzi looks down at the flyer, head hung in a mixture of disbelief and shame as he reads over the neon paper advertising a co-ed car wash. 

He just hopes you and Bakugou are worth the trouble.

1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it? Oh YAY, I love talking about what I'm writing! Because everything I'm actively invested in right now is fanfic, I'm going to limit myself to that; I'll talk more about my original story the next time I come back to it (which I hope is soon, since I finally ironed out some hurdles). A Shifting Cadence is, of course, the Those Binary Stars: Parenthood Edition fic, which I've stalled a little on but I am still very committed to continuing with it. There's part of me that wishes I'd made the existing chapters into their own fic and then the other things I want to write could just be oneshots in that same AU, but... well, this is the structure I kinda backed myself into, so this is what we're going for. I'm looking forward to the challenge of writing interactions between the three Morse sisters, and Joan and Morse's reactions to their antics. The Sparky imprint fic has been where most of my writing energy is going lately. There's a mishap with an Ancient device and John sorta "imprints on" Elizabeth, and then there's all the lovely sci-fi can't-be-separated tropey goodness. I am most looking forward to some quality awkward moments and flirty banter. Even though I have a really good picture of the plot for this one, I'm struggling with the dialogue and interactions in the smaller moments, which is a complete reversal of what I'm used to and I am flummoxed. This is also shaping up to be a larger project than I really wanted to commit to right now, so it's possible I may work on this piecemeal over the next several months and aim to have it ready for Sparktober... but we'll see. Given that I'm stuck on the above, I'm thinking of pivoting to the Sparky colors fic. I thought it would be interesting to write a collection of scenes each inspired by a color of the rainbow, and since Stargate Atlantis is where my head is at most of the time these days, that's where that inspiration is going to be used. Based on the bits and bobs I have collected/drafted so far, I'm thinking it's probably going to be established relationship, which I am hoping will be a little simpler to write than the getting together aspect of the imprint fic. I have tentative plans for all the colors except yellow; the "latter half" of the rainbow (green/blue/purple) is generally more solid thus far. I also have two Community WIPs: one is a couple chapters of sickfic that reflects stages in the development of Jeff and Annie's relationship, and the other is intended to be a post-S6 "Jeff and Annie get together" masterpiece, but might end up just being a collection of smaller works all set in that same post-canon universe as the mood strikes. So far it pretty much just consists of a slightly drunk Jeff launching into an accidental Winger speech to Duncan about how much he's not-so-secretly in love with Annie. Then there's the Endeavour spy AU, which I'm contemplating breaking out into a collection of mini fics around a theme rather than one very plot-heavy larger fic. And I want to add one final chapter to You Know You Can't Chase the Stars Underwater, where Max comes over for dinner and bonds with Joan over gardening. I think that's most of the major WIPs, at least...

9. Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?

Answered here 15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)? Tags are the freaking worst. I've gotten much better at summaries, especially if there's a line or two I can quote from and then tack on a one-liner explanation. Titles are really frustrating sometimes, but at least I find them interesting to brainstorm (and worst case, I can default to a song lyric). Tags are hard mostly because I never remember trope names, and that always leads me down a rabbit hole. 19. Is there something you always find yourself repeating in your writing? (favourite verb, something you describe ‘too often’, trope you can’t get enough of?) I don't think you could get your start in fandom in the era I did without the lingering temptation to mention character eye color with unnecessary frequency. I was also perturbed to realize I mentioned a character's mouth being "curiously dry" while trying to talk to their crush across two fics for the same dang ship recently, so, ya know, I must have read that phrase enough that it's now implanted in my brain as the default response. Perhaps most of all, I freaking love writing (and reading!) literal sleeping together as a mechanism for comfort; I'm pretty sure I've gotten at least a chapter of it into every fandom I've written for in the last few years, and even have entire fics centered around it. Tbh I would not mind that being the entirety of my fannish reputation, it's good stuff. 22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them? Answered here 24. Would you say your writing has changed over time? I mean, yes, but I also don't see a huge difference in terms of the years I've been writing/posting fanfiction? My original writing has seen more growth, but that's because I've been doing it way longer. I will say that I am finally learning how to do a little bit of plot, which I consider impressive progress.
