Series: Blue Eye Samurai

Pairing: Mizu x Widowed! Reader

Chapter Synopsis: Mizu takes notice of you.

Warning: SPOILERS on Episode 5

A/n & DISCLAIMER: I'm still establishing the connection between Mizu and Reader. But future chapters will soon have more interactions. Please bear with my grammar. I'll probably proof this sometime.

With one final release of air, you open your eyes as the small garden in front of you. A small butterfly flutters towards you landing on your nose for a few seconds making chuckle softly from the ticklish feeling. You exhaled and finally stood from your seat.

“Excuse me,” you hear a raspy voice call you. You turn to meet your awakened patient, still weak but seeing the spotless piles of plates by the tray was enough to tell you she had eaten well. You smiled as you entered back inside and went towards her.

“You’ve eaten, that’s good to see, I suggest not doing too much these next few days if you don’t want to rip stitches, ” you trail as you arrive at Mizu’s side. She adjusts herself to face you while still struggling, reflected in expression and tone but she manages. As your gaze met hers, you were finally able to get a good look of her blue eyes.

Blue wasn’t the best description but rather a reflection of the bright sky. That would have been the best description if it weren’t for the immediate glint of darkness that flashed. Her eyes reflected a submerged iceberg. You looked away, as you cleared your throat upon realizing that you might have been staring intently at your guest. Not that Mizu had missed the long gaze, she simply looked towards the open veranda. The sound of water running beside the zen garden followed by sweet chirps of perched up birds by the wall rang around the room as the two women sat casually together for a long while.

Mizu’s attention had shifted from the garden to scanning the very room she was in. There wasn't much furniture and neither were they sophisticated but rather functional yet each still carried a feminine touch. I didn’t take the blue-eyed woman to understand that she was resting on the very room and futon of the woman of the house and her savior.

“I’ll be heading out now, I have a bit more chores to do,” you inhaled as you lifted yourself from the tatami floors of your room beside Mizu who simply watched you.

“Do not rush your recovery and take your time, you can walk around the place to stretch some muscles and simply ask Midori if you need anything,”

Mizu was a bit appalled by such a humble host, your smile did not have any kind of hidden agenda no matter how much skepticism she presumes on your every exchange. She watches you nod off to her and head out to the door.

Mizu did spend the next few days resting and took the offer of scouring around your rather spacious yet one story Japanese home surrounded by rich and thriving vegetation. She found the rural beauty of your household surreal with how peaceful it was. Midori had shared that your land was indeed settled far from the confines of any busy village or town. You have lived your life in exile.

“The madame has been a wonderful and responsible head of this household, my husband and I have dedicated our lives to helping her around this lonely home,” Mizu listened to Midori intently as she ate lunch one bright afternoon. The kind woman had taken it upon herself to accompany Mizu and had been quite a talkative nurse much to Mizu’s expectation. But she wasn’t going to complain as she found it rather nice, the old lady’s gentleness was both foreign yet not, it reminded her of those moments where she was happy with her mother despite how few they were.

Mizu and Midori dined near the veranda of the center of the house that showed the landscape of vegetation that you have been tending and growing with Tanaka.

“I find it unusual how she has intentionally taken on the task of being the head of the house. Was this house from her parents that was passed on to her?” Mizu trailed as her gaze found you at the center of the vegetable patch from the house.

“Oh no, madame was married to a farmer who owned this land, sadly died from circumstance that I am not in the position to share, but they were a happy couple and immensely contented with this life style,” Midori’s tone lowered when she spoke of your husband but immediately raised back to lighten the mood. The last thing the kind old lady wanted was for an awkward meal. Besides, you were doing well.

For a farmer or a husband, with the kind of land your household has, Mizu assumed it was impossible not to gain some kind of higher status. Doing business with your husband and his thriving produce, you could have been living a rather rich life. Not to mention, your looks.

She was no daft when it came to recognizing beauty. And like every beautiful provincial flower, she was sure that you could have found another husband to help you and provide you with a luxurious life. And yet here you were.

You, the lady of this household, dressed in a shade-colored tunic and long pants, your feet covered with a muddy enclosed straw slipper that you constantly submerged through dirt mud in your daily routine within the garden. Hair that was neither in a sophisticated style to be littered with elegant hair pieces, simply pulled together within your straw hat so that it cannot cover your face while you dig and pull the hoe in your hands to the soil. Your face was littered with dirt and sweat, yet exhaustion nor any sign of labored breaths was absent despite the fact the Mizu has been watching you word for more than an hour or two.

Mizu continues to reach full healing as days pass on, and as time passes, she has never once again had conversation with you as you were always occupied with your household and agricultural duties of your home. It was not really like Mizu has any business with your life but she's been rather curious of you. How you've chosen to live and devoted yourself to the responsibility of being the sole caretaker of your household, never bothering to find another husband and having to forever have your deceased husband's ghost of memories occupy the lost part of your heart.

Mizu came to you one afternoon as you were casually chopping each block of wood you pick up and chop and toss to a pile. A rather tall pile.

“Ah, you look like you're in good shape now,” you arched back as you watched Mizu approach you.

“I would like to thank you once again but I have to leave soon,” Mizu states firmly to you. You stared at her for a moment as her firm. Mizu bowed her head.

“I don’t think I can ever repay your kindness in not just tending to me but also being a most gracious host. But I will repay you someday,” she implores as your expression contorts to surprise and concern.

“P-please, there is no need for such a gesture,” you state as you placed your ax down and stepped towards her. You took in that her figure, her simple gray tunic that you have owned that you haven’t for a long time fit her frame perfectly, concealing her true figure from your two trusted people around your home.

Mizu took notice of this and looked down. Although your gaze wasn’t anything unkind or uncanny, it was still observant and a bit piercing through her thoughts. You did her a favor of not informing anyone of her true persona. And you know of the path she is currently walking on, she may be groggy that night but she didn’t miss your statement hurled towards her.

“If you have nothing more to say, I’ll wish for your safety, tell Tanaka to take you to my stables, take one of my horses,” Mizu’s eyes widened to this as but she never got to as Midori emerged behind her with a large bag. The kind old lady looked at her with a wrinkled smile.

You smiled at the scene and looked at your blue-eyed guest, “I highly suggest you take the horse, Midori isn’t keen on backing down on people not taking the dishes she prepares for them for travel,” you inform, Mizu looks up to meet your smile. Her chest warmed and as her lips curled in a small delight.

“You take care of yourself child,” Midori worries as she accompanies Mizu back to the main road. The female trailed beside the old lady, her hands holding the reins of her new travel company.

“I will. I’ll be forever indebted to you, Tanaka and your Madame’s kindness,” Mizu states as they stood facing each other at the side of the dirt road. The brown horse neighed beside the woman as it nudged her. Midori chuckled as Mizu smiled and continued on with her farewells.

But there warm conversation were soon to be cut short.

“Well would you look at that, you’re still alive,”

I love that no character is one-dimensional:

Sara is not goody two shoes protagonist with unwavering hope (I like Makoto it's not his slander I really promise I love kind guys), she has the highest chance of winning. It can't happen to ultimate cinammon roll. The balance between her caring side that wants to protect everybody and using charisma to her advantage is so tricky and yet it works (though I am a bit baffled at how she changes without Joe in AI simulations).

Joe is not only cheery cheesy best friend that dies just so you can cry about it (even if it's true as well). Joe is distrustful, he is scared and he kind of wants to escape with sacrifice card knowing what it entails. So he came up with a plan where good people being majority would live, and if not he can feel less guilt. Amazing idea! And we all know how he returns in second chapter. A sing of ungrounded guilt that doesn't correspond to reality whatsoever but can't be combated with logic alone. In best case scenario it is defeated with reminder of how real Joe behaved, showing how faulty our perception can get from trauma.

Keiji is not just sexy detective that supports Sara, oh no. This guy gets close to our heroine on purpose and I dare say kind of uses her for own gain. Then, his trauma doesn't equal all of his character nor it magically justifies killing Megumi, it simply explains his current actions. And of course I really want to believe that he is not some creep flirting with people in most suspicious way. He just needs excuse for evading akward questions. This man, deprived of sleep because of his sins, is both cunning and kind, capable of cruelty and striving to be like his idol.

Kanna and Gin are not annoying children that constantly need saving or exist to evoke sympathy. In Kanna's case sympathy is natural, but it is not the only thing going for her. Kanna is about giving a chance, letting go regrets, making thought-out sacrifice and when it fails moving on to make sure it doesn't have to happen. She develops constantly, bringing ideas to the table and trying to get all group stay united. Kanna makes conscious choice to spend time with Shin to get information, so while she can be manipulated it's not always the case and she's not all naїveness. Her arc of overcoming trauma and insecurity may seem familiar to characters from other media, but it is unique and distinctive.

Gin is autism representation without making him vilain or weird. He has some pecularities, for example, wearing animal-like clothes and repeating animal sounds, and yet nobody bats an eye, so surely he's no outcast or useless (on the contrary, he is quite useful remembering names in the bar, using scent, helping morally etc). Gin's the least morally gray of the cast, but it doesn't mean he is cardboard nice support kid either: he has his dislikes or his own thoughts (he is quite distrustful toward Kanna because he's younger and doesn't use age as justification for her actions).

Reko seems simple enough, a hot-tempered rock star, emo/punk lady many would like to date. Strict to the strong, kind to the weak. She had a lot of changing in the past and it continues here, she is becoming softer. But it's not her only trait: she's a talented singer that was interested purely in music and it's perfection. She ignored to some degree her happiness, her band, her beloved brother for the sake of art. She wasn't indifferent, but appeared as such. And now, finally having a better understanding of what's important and bright future ahead she ends up in a death game with Alice. Their plotline is prominent in second chapter and is devastatingly tragic.

Alice looks like comic relief with his exaggerated reactions and bizzare choice of words (personally I love this type of speaking it's cool). But he is actually not only a scaredy cat: he is a person without a purpose. He searched for it in a path with sister, but no happiness came, only murder of Midori. Alice hides his soft side to not be hurt, he on purpose builds a wall and appears so arrogant because when he was openly kind the close ones were indifferent (not to mention prison, I admire how Alice kept his sanity at all).

Shin is a prime example of morally gray character done right (majority here are morally gray but with him being antagonist it's far more prominent). I have seen various post about fandom interpreting him either as "totally evil manipulator", "Kokichi/Nagito kinnie", "cinnamon roll he did nothing wrong" or "what a loser". But he's not just good or bad, him having antagonist status doesn't make him Ouma copycat or Komaeda's successor, and while I get him being a loser is funny it's not the only thing to define him (though it's more of a joke than serious interpretation). Shin is very insecure and distrustful guy who "sees shadows where there aren't any" (quoting Sara) due to 0% and wants to live, using all methods... until he gets attached. He plots mainly against people he considers his enemies (to tell the truth, with 0% anybody could be classified as enemy), and I think he wouldn't abandon those close to him like Kanna, perhaps partly due to guilt of using her. In general, his actions, while obviously not the best (and he knows it perfectly well), come from fear of death and paranoia rather than pure malice or craziness.

Nao may appear as mentally weak girl you constantly have to help and can't rely on. Yes, Nao has problems with dependance on other, but she has her own aces up her sleeves. She's creative, smart, open-minded. For me her advantage lies in unexpectedness: who knew she saw through AI's lies? For her own sake and for the group Nao is capable of difficult actions like puching fake Reko. This girl is about growing more responsible, learning to trust your own judgement (she has great intuition by the way) and becoming independent.

Kai is quite too unique for stereotypes in my mind, a mysterious but awfully suspicious man. He looks so feminine but don't let that deceive you: he's assasin. Assasin that doesn't kill. Kai is the person escaping from his bloodied, horrible, traumatic past into right, calm, tranquil future with only householding chores and not killing attempts to protect... wrong people (Sara is not bad person, but her father is likely to be tied to Asunaro). So poor househusband is leaping from one abusive enviroment into another, but now being genuinely loyal and unaware of all skeletons kept in closet.

Q-Taro is certainly not only kindhearted big muscular guy (that dies in certain chapter) or stupid. Yes, he looks like parody on American, yes, all his accents make his speech a bit silly and stereotypical. No, he's not dumb. In fact, many plot twists involve him in some way (especially the banquet). Also, he could sacrifice his life for somebody, but he is equally capable of doing the opposite. Q-Taro is quite honest but not above tricks to leave this place, he cares for th group (taking into accout his team-spirited profession) but prioritises himself until later; he knows how sinful people are including him and that allows him to forgive quickly.

Finally, Mishima dies so early you don't hope to see him after 1.1. But if you think he's the shock value first victim that dissapears after, you are not quite right. Mishima, being dead, yet has influence on story as well, either through mystery of his head or AI that appear three times (maybe something is really up with him). Not to mention Ytts where his character shines and not burns. Him being almost perfect doesn't ruin anything, it motivates to become better as well because he wasn't always like this. Plus, he's no ideal, Mishima understands how world works but is passionate to a fault, not to mention his suspicious behavior. He is example of a person that matured, overcame his main faults and inspires the same in others.

Of course, everyone can interpret these characters differently and it's great, those perseptions can be true all at once. They are so interesting and captivating thanks to many layers of depth where everybody can see something unique.

god. the roommates situation just gives so much hilarity potential its one of my favorite things to think about. even more so after in private room when ibara went and fixed midori's panda footstool and later in a 3* story of his yuzuru hears of it and immediately suspects ibara tampered with it and was overly cautious and told him to avoid using it as much as possible. wyd the hellish instructor/mentee from your shared probably trauma inducing childhood gets chummy with this random kid i need to put these three in a room and observe them

The Question of Dark Aono's Role

I don't want to make any definitive statements towards Dark Aono's role in the story on either a literal or metaphorical level. It feels like there is still a lot Shiina is holding back about him; however, I feel like for all the terrible horrors he could represent, at this it is pretty clear Dark Aono is not just a simple abuse allegory

Like I get why it might appear that way early in the story, we don't actually know Aono that well, and neither does Yuri, and stories of men turning "into completely different ppl" once locked into a relationship do exist, what Aono does with his limited agency speaks in direct opposition to that. When he feels he crossed a line, he isolates himself from Yuri and tries to stay away from her. In the cannibalism dream sequence he begs Yuri to run away from him even when she is determined to feed herself. Much of his greatest conflict is about being stuck in this monstrous role and trying to self-sabotage himself.

And like perhaps this could be a seen as a messy representation of the honeymoon phase of abuse, where apologies are made and the abuser is extra affectionate to make up for it, but I lean away from that bc we have much better representations of that in the familial stages. Midori and Hitomi both tend to follow up the worst of their wrong-doings with explicit apologies and excess affection, sometimes immediately after the incident. The Aono to Dark Aono cycling doesn't hit nearly the same beats, even when taking into account the supernatural elements.

While I don't want to lock myself into one interpretation before the story is finished, I always come back to the stairwell incident. Where Dark Aono is shocked in Aono when Yuri informs him he sounds like Midori for saying exactly what his Mother used to tell him. I think of how when he regains control, it is usually followed by shame and self-loathing, sometimes simply saying that his behavior was "weird' or outright calling himself a conman.

It is such a tricky situation bc to me Dark Aono has distinctive quirks and differences from our Aono in attitude/speech/everything, even when both characters try and manipulate others, they do it in very different ways. Yet for as drastic as the switch can be, he is never so clearly an alternate personality or entity taking over. Aono has stated outright that the further in the story he goes, the more aware he grows during this shifts, and many take place specifically due to Aono's emotional state rather than any outside taboo breaking. Dark Aono is both something alien, something intrusive, yet also a painfully familiar thing that clearly originates in himself

In the end I am reminded much more of how the aftereffects of abuse haunt even relationships formed years after escaping the situation. Aono was taught love is choosing one ultimate idol and doesn't realize how fucked up that is until he finds himself parroting the same words back to Yuri. Aono reverts to a child-like state and tries to prove both to others and to himself he is worthy of love when he realized he fucked up in some way. He excuses all his self-destructive self isolating coping mechanisms as necessary even while calling out those same traits in others

But as man-painy and gross the premise of "guy keeps hurting his gf even though he doesn;t want to bc mommy issues and that makes him sad" could be, what makes Shiina's writing compelling is she makes it clear that the one suffering the most here in the present is Yuri. Having sympathy for Aono doesn't make her situation any less worse, and from where volume 10 ends off, there are things Aono needs to answer for that can't be explained away by spooky occult shenanigans. I feel like Aono's ultimate role as either ally or antagonist will be determined by his choices in the end, no matter how many or few he has. There haven't been any easy answers in the story and so I don't except to suddenly discover them this late in the game. But regardless of how it plays out I can't help but already praise her for putting such an interesting and unpredictable spin on "dark alter egos" in a genre that can be overstuffed with them.

Oh a bit of a challenge! I'll gladly take it since I'm always happy to indulge in YTTD related stuff!

Abnormality Dancing Girl - This is such a Shin song. It's about changing who you are and feeling as if you're going crazy while doing so! I think the lyrics that most back up my choice to pair this song with him is: "I can't go on like this. Constantly being manipulated by useless measures of worth. I've already come to hate this life. So, I think I'll restart my life.

The Rest Undercut

Meltdown - I'm going with Sara for this one! I interpret this song to be about haunting grief, which is something Sara has felt since the death of Joe. She feels guilty like she caused it, which how the lyrics "In my dream I strangled you. In the languid afternoon light. I watched your throat, thin and twitching. I watched your throat, thin and twitching." could come into play.

ECHO - This is so Maple core. The lyrics "What the hell's going on?! Can someone tell me please? Why I'm switching faster than the channels on TV? I'm black, then I'm white. No! Something isn't right! My enemy's invisible, I don't know how to fight!" match so well to when she's freaking out in the pink room.

Appetite Of A People Pleaser - Maybe Ranmaru for this one? The song could be about his need to make Sara happy despite how self destructive it is to himself. The lyrics I think most back up my choice are: "Maybe if I try a little harder, it will be okay. One day. Keep on eating more and more. Divide my life away into servings. And go beyond the point of no return."

Kakakuri Pierrot - This is another Sara mourning Joe song to me! Mostly because of the multiple references to being a clown, and I consider the Joesara theme of the game to be "Clown Song." The lyrics I think most back up my idea are: "It's so easy, and yet so difficult, for I can move on as soon as I accept reality. Unable to believe it, not wanting to believe it, I must be a clown inside your mind, aren't I?"

BETTER OFF WORSE - This gives me Alice during the band era vibes. The song is more overdramatic then what he probably felt about the situation, but I do think it has some basis! The lyrics that make me think this are: "Bleed out for audience approval Tragic, but perfectly on schedule. You think by now that we would have learned. Behind every piece of art is a human to be heard. Rejecting change to keep you there."

Non-Breath Oblige - I think this fits Shin the most since the lyrics all seem like a long winded rant he'd go on! For example: "I'll raise the white flag to the tyranny of the majority. Suppress my ill feelings and say cheese." Plus the chorus has Shin written all over it: "I want to live but I'm told to die."

Bug - This song feels like a panic attack so I'm assigning it to Shin. The lyrics that make me think this are: "Well! It's a desperate situation, I'm doomed to fall no matter what I do! Surely, surely sinking, no, no, NO!"

HIBANA - Another song that I think is Maple and Midori coated! Mostly about their messed up "romance" that Maple was forced to feel despite how poorly Midori treated her. The lyrics that make me think this is: "Come, come, mute the complaints. Hesitating over stupid things. You're kidding, huh? Ahaha!. Seems like unbreakable walls are being pressed for a kiss."

Fixer - Again, I think this is a Shin song! He really fits Vocaloid tunes! The lyrics that make me think this are: "With this shoddy excuse for a smile, I let time fly by, acting as if I know what I’m talking about. I never wanted to end up like this."

Orthodoxia - I know you said ignore the meaning but the song seems to fit ASU-NARO as a whole considering we hear that it may have some basis in religion in Kai's mini episode. The lyrics that I think back up my point are: "I take people’s lives away, devouring even their wishes. I’ve been living by trampling on the misfortune of others. The world was not such a wonderful place after all! If you flatter your idol, then your life will be saved. There is no such thing as correct teachings!"

Bocca Della Verita - I think this fits Maple and Midori since I could see it playing over the scene where she attacks him. The lyrics I think back up this idea the most are: "I-I-I quite hate you, w-w-w-w-what is wrong? You're still so frivolous, while I'm noble. I drag you across the dry floor. If you weren't around, I would be a goddess by now!"

★彡Flower shop au with Kanata

a/n: hi! I’m halfway with meteor impact so in honour of that he’s a little thing on Kanata, their not idols btw and did yk Hydrangeas represent gratitude (you’ll understand later on in the fic)

“Excuse me, is this Petit Fleur flower shop?” You gently pushed the glass doors to the shop your referred you to. They needed some flowers from this shop and why not just help them run a little errand?

“Yes Yes~,how may I ‘help’ you?” A faint voice comes from the shop counter, behind the wide variety of flowers and plants.

You brushed the plants blocking the path to the counter, revealing a blue haired boy tending a vase of tulips on the table. He sends a little smile towards you as he places the tulips towards the side, his hands making small gestures to motion you forward.

“Um I’m looking for a bouquet, preferably with flowers suited for a congratulation” you requested.

Thinking deeply, he turns through the back door and returns with a bouquet of flowers. Roses of all different colours, wrapped together with a bow on top. “Perhaps~, this is what ‘you’ are looking for?”

Nodding your head, “yes! It’s perfect, it’s super pretty too” touching one of the rose’s delicate petals.

While Kanata was wrapping the bouquet in some parchment paper, he asked “whoever is ‘receiving’ this must be super ‘lucky’” giving you a closed eyed smile “flowers are ‘expensive’ you must really care for this person”.

“Ah no! No it's an errand for a friend, I wish I could buy flowers, but they really are too expensive” giggling at the way his face seemed to relax a little at your words.

Handing you the bouquet carefully, he returned to the back of the store. “Please wait a ‘while’, I have something for ‘you’” Returning with a small bundle of hydrangeas, he placed them in a small corner of the bouquet you were holding.

“W-wait, I can’t take those! Flowers are much too expensive to be given for free” however, with your hands full you weren’t able to refute his actions before he motioned you out gently.

“If you would like to ‘repay’ me, come again And don’t worry about the ‘flowers’, it’s a thank you for today~” He returns back into the shop once he notices that you are no longer in sight.

“Kanata! Who was that customer, you shouldn’t just give out free flowers like that!” Midori frowned as he lectured Kanata.

But alas, Kanata wasn’t listening, all he could wonder about was what your name could possibly be?

addressing this blog

hi! so.. i'm gonna try and be as honest as i can with this post. i'm gonna address some questions (that no one has asked but i feel are necessary to talk about) because i kind of just don't want to lie anymore lol

Q: first off, why has this blog been so inactive?:

A: er. a couple reasons. recently, my mental health has been going through a lot of ups and downs, along with the fact i've been trying to focus on things irl like friends, grades, etc. most of the time i just don't.. have time to write or do stuff for this blog. i wish i could, i promise. i'm just dealing with my own issues daily.

the second reason is. well. few people are interested in this anymore. few of us still even have interest in midori. i mean, maybe we do. just not as much as before. its okay, things change over the course of 6-7 ish months. i understand that and i'm not going to try to push it anymore

Q: what do i plan to do with this blog?

A: okay. i'm gonna be as honest as i can with this. i have no fucking clue. i've been thinking about like final bit of lore posts and just simple goodbye posts for a while. i've also been thinking about just completely resetting and completely disregarding the lore and starting over. as tempting as this is, others and i have (probably) poured a lot of time into thinking about and writing our characters' lore and wouldn't be the happiest to just throw it all away. idk. you tell me what you think.

i've also been thinking really hard about just making a new ask blog. or just repurposing this one. not sure yet, i want some other people's opinion first. i just want to start a new ask/rp blog. preferably with a different character. mostly because my y/ttd hpfx has been. non existant. haha..

Q: anything else i want to talk about?

A: this isn't really a question, i know. i just wanted an excuse to yap some more.

so.. mostly, i'd like to say i'm sorry. i'm sorry i dragged all of you along. i was. kind of selfish throughout this entire thing. maybe you guys don't feel this way, but i feel like i've been really controlling in the rp. or just like i spoke over everyone else. and that i haven't been making time for everyone. i'm sorry. i have personal issues that i shouldn't have let affect the rp/everyone else. i hope you forgive me

Q: final thoughts?

A: for now, this post is all i have to say. obviously if you have more questions, then please ask. my inbox has been empty for a very long while.

along with the apology above, i'd also like to thank you all!! i'm so happy you all stuck with me for so long. honestly, i've been.. really uncomfortable with this blog. by that i mean it's just been really stressful to think about what i'm going to do with it. i don't want to throw away the thing i love, the thing that brought me out of a bad mental state. but it can't last forever, i know.

anyway! i'm also kinda curious about something. if i were to make a new ask or rp blog would you guys be interested...

currently these are my ideas: pkmn!shin au ask blog, takeshi (my y/ttd oc) ask blog, h/xh related ask blog, angel (midoribai oc) rp blog, and sunny (midoribai god oc).

MHA Characters x Sick y/n

So the title says it all. After dishing out some angst here and there I thought to add some fluff/comfort. Also i thought up this post since I am sick myself. (Covid ofc -_-) But yeah MHA characters react to you being sick. Also by sick I don't mean covid like me right now I won't do y'all like that.

Also to make it interesting I will rate each of them on how good they do when it comes to comforting someone who is sick. Just to make it interesting.

Izuku

At first can not tell if you are really sick or not. But after a while and seeing symptoms he is like "Oh dang y/n you're sick?!"

Keeps a close eye on you every-now and then or sends you texts telling you to drink water or ask if you took any medicine and to just check up on you while he is out and you are back at home or the dorms resting.

Once he is back he gives you some snacks from school to cheer you up. And offers to help go over some of the stuff you missed in class today if you need it.

"What do you mean you don't want to get me sick? I can never get sick of you y/n." He tries to laugh it off but becomes a complete stammering mess. "I thought it would be a good joke or- no, you being sick is not a joke or-"

Genuinely he just wanted to cheer you up and make sure you are taking care of yourself. Recovery can be hard and bothersome no matter what it is. Take it from him Izuku Midori-ya my bones broken.

All in all 10/10 best way to comfort a sick person/friend etc. Also really sweet when it comes to giving you things to cheer you up a little and help catch you up on anything you missed.

Bakugo

You can't tell me he is that one friend that is like "You are sick what the fuck do you want me to do about it?" Or he scolds you claiming "I bet you don't wash your hands enough smh!"

But then a good twenty minutes later who is knocking at your door with a bag of cans of soup and extra medicine? "Shut up!- These are were just extra in the cabinet and were going to go bad soon."

Or guess who is texting your phone a little too frequently cause they secretly miss you or worried about you? (He does not even mention how you are doing just talks random stuff.)

Yeah, him.

Also don't worry too much about the chores you might miss or don't get to he already secretly did them or will do them if he notices. "Oi why the hell are you vacuuming the common room?!! You are doing it wrong idiot give me that!" . (And if anyone points it out or says anything about it they will die!!!) And yes he does know you can vacumm properly but he needed an excuse to do it himself.

In total he is a 7.5-8/10 the yelling of this Pomeranian is hard enough on your typical school day. But if you are sick this man is both you peace but also your living migraine. And the messages from scared or concerned classmates telling you to "I know you are sick but come back and get your mans" have not been comforting.

Kirishima

Sends you lots of food or snack to feel better. Since eating helps keeps your strength up or however he says it.

Honestly one of the most sane on how to deal with you being sick along with Deku.

Sick or not that is not stopping him from wanting to hang out with you a little. After he gets done training he comes in your dorm so you both can at least chill and watch a movie or do whatever else you want.

"I was not sure what movie to pick so I got The Terminator, Rocky, and Twilight..Hm? Oh yeah the last one was not mine I borrowed it from Bakugo earlier."

He would also fill you in a little on any school tea/drama if anything went on. He also offers to do some of your chores or does a few if you ask him.

If you try to push him away or worry about getting him sick. He WILL give you puppy eyes for a few seconds. Before giving you a shark tooth grin "Well it is not manly to leave one of your pals sick all alone. Plus it can be like training for my immune system!" (He would also miss being away from you for a long time. Let him hang around you for a bit.

A solid 10/10 as well maybe a 9.5 depending on how you yourself feel about the slight clinginess. But other than that wanting to stick by with you making sure you are not alone or bored is reassuring.

Todoroki

Also does not notice at first glance if you are sick until you or someone else mentions it. "Sick? From what?" This dude will ask you questions about your health that you do not even know the answer to.

In the past he has made a special stash of ice packs he keeps frozen. So feel free to take one if you need to.

Other than that for the most part he never knew how to deal with stuff like this (you know cause childhood and all) But he will do his best and if you say or mention you need something. Then he will make sure you have it or it gets done.

"I heard you only ever really take this medicine so I got it for you."

Will also give you soba or a small gift to cheer you up. "I never really knew how to treat someone who is sick. Am I doing it right?"

Trying his best 9/10 he might not be all that enthusiastic or anything. And he also may or may not have slipped up and said some out of pocket stuff "So if you are sick do you need euthanasia...?" "Todoroki, that is when you mercy kill someone, they don't need that!" "...I thought it was a type of medicine."

I also feel like he would low key be a bit of a germaphobe. I don't know why. Partly due to him just growing up in a wealthy family or something. So expect to see him spraying or wiping everything you touch.

Denki

"Aw what you get to miss classes, no fair" He is a bit sour about that and would miss you in class too. He would every now and then send you positive memes and get well memes. Tries to think of a way for you to take the notes in class if you are not in class.

"Denki, why are you getting up class is not over?" Aizawa watched as Denki just set his phone on the teacher's desk. Everyone stiffled dry laughs thinking he put it there to not get in trouvle for being on his phone. "Y/n said they wanted to take down the notes while they are here." Glancing over Aizawa saw you on the phone screen and hummed "Hmm alright then."

Once school was over he made a B-line to your dorm to check on you. And talk about his day, the stuff he saw, the things he did. Literally everything and anything until he noticed that rambling a lot probably was draining you a little. So he mellowed out.

"Since you pretty much finished all the work you needed. Thanks to you know who, that means we can hangout you know when!"

Played video games with you and would lose (Totally not on purpose... Yeah it was on purpose for almost all the rounds.) but he would lose for you any day or on repeat if it meant making you feel better.

"Say so since you are sick do you think you can sneeze on me? A test is coming up in a few days. You will be better by then and all but I don't want to be." Mans tries to get himself sick to skip out on school smh. He may try and do a chore for you if you ask. But other than that probably not. And he also would call you randomly in the middle of the to make sure you're not dead. (Yeah this head cold is killer Denki, my limbs are falling oof now let me sleep.)

Solid 7/10 Does not do as much as hopes or you might have anticipated for but he did at least come clutch on help you get your notes however you need it. He struggles with grades and school as is and he ain't letting his homies struggle the way he does.

Sero

"Lmao imagine getting sick. Sucks to suck." He is being sarcastic of course when he says stuff like this. But he still takes care of you well. Will bring you soup and at least talk to you to keep you company. Expect a lot of jokes, bad and good ones.

"Hey... You know what sick rhymes with?"

"Dis dic-"

His number one goal is to make you smile. So be prepared for him to also sometimes get himself into a little but of trouble here and there. Mans would try and make Bakugo blow up at him. (we appreciate the sacrifice)

He would pitch in and help you with some of your chores.

At some point he just comes in your room and gives you food. And the tasted salty as fuck. Of course you told him and he was like "They say that you being sick means someone is messing with your energy. Eating salty stuff will protect you." Also this man blows Poly Santo smoke on you.

Yeah this mfer cleanses your and your damn room. It seems weird at first but when you ask him about it. It is just sometings his mom did for him as a kid. And he makes you play music in your room. Not sad music or anything but up beat music to fill in the space.

Gets a good 10/10 this man is not leaving any room for slip ups when it comes to you being sick. He will help you out physically, mentally, spiritually whatever. Yes those corny ass joke be annoying af at times but honestly anybody would take that over how some of these other people be acting.

A/n: I kind of sprinkled in some of my own low key headcannons in here to kind of beef this post up a little. Let me know what you guys think and since I am gonna be stuck quarantining for a while feel free to send me a request or two. I do have another headcannon post coming up but I won't spoil it too much other than them dealing with kids. And it won't be your average type of them reacting to y/n being pregnant or whatever you got thinking.

But yeah hope you enjoyed the post and this is also giving me a a few other thoughts and headcannons to add and post for the future. I definitely feel like Sero is low key kind of spiritual. Not in that "Tik tok" kind of spiritual. But I mean like "My mama said if I don't do x,y,z in that order then a monster will eat me and my future kids." And he sometimes just throws salt in certain parts of the dorms.

Alright. Here is Team 2, with the NaruSaku youngest Arashi in it.

His teammates are Tsume (Himawari's youngest brother; KibaHina kid) and Rikona Ota (OC). The Team's leader is Mirai Sarutobi by the way. Team 2 was her first team of Genins and she regreted it almost every days, mostly because of Arashi.

A little about everyone:

Arashi is usually seen as the leader of the three. He's the most vocal and often plays the "My Dad is the Hokage, so you do what I want"-card. But to his dismay, Naruto does not treat him any special way, when it comes to Ninja-duties. Due to an accident (in one of my stories) Tsume went deaf on one side and his parents got him an assistant dog, Yori. Yori is based on a Rottweiler, making him very smart, loyal and dangerous *looking*. (Looking is important here, because Rotties are so sweet)

Tsume is the youngest KibaHina kid I have. He is 100% Inuzuka and named after his Grandmother (because Hinata's sister named her oldest after their father... and I maybe come back to this later) Tsume is loud and cheery, much like his father, but when getting flustered he acts just as shy as Hinata. His dog is called Midori and she is adorable.

Lastly, Rikona Ota. She's from the Ota-Clan who have the ability of "Mind-reading". It's quite useful for the members, but Rikona's powers are probably the most powerful out of all the Clan-members. She constantly hears thoughts of the people around her and has to actively shield her mind against those of others. When she doesn't, she hears like a constant white-noise around her and when looking at people. Only those with strong mental barriers themselves are safe from her, those who - for example - are Jinchuriki.

Tsume, the starfish-type of sleeper. I just wanted an excuse to draw them together. I won't apologize.

Yori and Midori are best friends, due to basically growing up together. They are also both bred by Kiba (he's a dog breeder on the side, because it makes sense and Hinata loves taking care of the puppies)

This is their dynamic. They can be super serious, but also goofballs. And they love to embarrass their Sensei

Hallo! Could I get Kai Satou, Rio Ranger, and Midori's reactions (separately) to having their own personal (gender neutral) simp... Like the simp reader just constantly shly ogle at them and get very flustered whenever they're around and yet will do anything for them happily whatever they been told or ask. Maybe they get told by someone else that reader is simping? It can be during the deaths game (let said the cast live longer than the original for more plot-) or the non death game au yet. Kai Satou

I'll be honest with you, Kai is kinda dense

He won't realize you're simping for him until someone (likely Sara) points out your behavior to him

He's not experienced with romantic affairs at all so someone is gonna have to spell it out for him

He doesn't really take note of your staring or how flustered you appear to be when you're around him

So yeah, he's clueless as hell

But once Sara points your behavior out to him, he'll be the first to approach you about it

Though he doesn't show it, he's secretly overjoyed that someone feels the way you do about him

Once he knows, he won't stop taking notice of your behavior even after you two are in a relationship

It makes him feel so warm inside seeing you sneaking glances at him and constantly looking for excuses to be near him

How can he not feel joyful when you're looking at him like that? How can he not crack the smallest of smiles when he sees how flustered you get as he holds your hand?

He also loves your acts of service, it being his love language.

One day, you tried cooking something for him to thank him for always feeding you good food, but you ended up screwing it up and serving him some sad steak. Even if your cooking failed, it certainly didn't fail to make this man overjoyed that you'd tried to share his passion with him, so he ended up eating the whole plate for you.

Though, as happy as he was, he now prefers you stay out of the kitchen and let him do the cooking.

He loves how much you love him, and to be honest he loves you just as much. It shows in his smiles reserved for your eyes only and how he'd do anything for you just as you'd do anything for him.

Rio Ranger

This one's another dense one, but not in the same way that Kai is

While Kai is clueless, Rio is confused

Why do you keep staring at him? Why do you get so stuttery and blushy when he's around? Why do you seem to be looking for excuses to be near him? He's so confused by your odd behavior

He's so used to being disliked and feared that he just doesn't get why you seem to want to be around him.

At first, he hates it. He hates the way you ogle him from afar. He hates how you seem to always be in the same room as him. He hates how you're not fearful of him like everyone else is. Why aren't you afraid of him? You should be!

That's pretty much his thought process at first.

Over time, he slowly starts to get used to your behavior, though that won't stop him from trying to push you away. He still thinks you're weird.

One day, however, you seem to be missing, and he feels strangely empty without you around. He's confused. He doesn't like you, so why is he wondering about if you're alright or not?

He would rather die than admit to anyone, even himself, that he was actually worried about you.

The next day you show back up, following him around once more after you had spent the day resting due to illness.

Why is he...relieved to see you?

He doesn't like you, he knows this. So why is he relieved that you're back with your strange antics?

He doesn't know it yet, but he's become attached to you. He's come to enjoy the way you look at him and follow him around. He's come to adore how you seem to be willing to do anything for him.

He does his best to repress those feelings. No, he doesn't like you at all. In fact, he hates you. He hates the way it makes him feel when he catches you staring at him like he hung the stars in the sky. He hates the warmth in his chest when you get a little too close. He definitely hates when you give him little charms and trinkets.

Maybe one day he'll come to realize how absolutely smitten he is with you.

Shin AI's words can't be taken at face value considering the only cg we have of Shin and Midori under an objective light is of Shin looking incredibly relaxed, on top of all the pictures Midori seemed to take of him being of him smiling in a way that Kanna is mournful of. Regarding his behavior in the death game, Shin says that he looked up to Midori specifically as an anti-hero, and when he took on his Sou Hiyori persona, he used that to justify treating others the way he did. But comparing the words Midori gave him in the past, of not putting himself down and relying on his own power, to how Shin treated Kanna at present, undermining her perception of her own capabilities and attempting to distance her from the group, all so she could keep working with him under the excuse of him protecting her, it's much more apparent that the persona Shin used embodied his anti-hero ideal of Midori rather than any actual traits that could be observed from Midori during their time together. Also it seems like a far reach to consider Shin keeping things like his mecha builds- extremely delicate items that would take an immense amount of trust to keep in somebody else's space- in Midori's house to be a result of Midori pressuring him into it. Especially since, again, the only interaction we see between them was of Midori encouraging Shin to become the kind of person who can meet his younger sibling proudly,

As per usual, long post, and I repeat myself on some occasions

First of all, I wouldn't dismiss AI's experiences so easily. While it's true he could differ from real Shin, in theory he has same memories of events so his feelings about the matter could be taken into consideration.

As to that CG and how peaceful Shin looked, I admit he could feel some level of comfort, he did consider Midori a friend after all. But while we have one flashback with them and happy photos, I think it's not right to base everything on it. Moreover, at that moment Midori was likely exploiting Shin's feeling to get him sign consent form, which lessens level of wholesomeness. If we are talking exclusively about how Shin himself viewed that scene, yes, he could appreciate having such brother figure at that point of life. But upon reconcideration and reflection he could change his mind. The fact that his photos show him genuinely smiling and not sweating bullets are primary because:

Midori was the one deciding when to take a photo. He only took photos of what he liked, that doesn't strictly mean Shin only was happy and comfortable even if physical evidence doesn't cover it.

Shin indeed felt comfortable at times, because he did trust Midori after all.

Nevertheless, I still think that during their relationship Shin had double impression of Midori. While liking support, he disliked other sides of their friendship, for example being caught on camera or being afraid in general. It is something Shin tells Sara, so I take this into account, I believe his reactions display what he thought all that time ago. If their relationship could be summarised by that one lone flashback, I don't see how Midori could be considered anti-hero and not hero by Shin. Yes, his actions came from his perception of what Sou-Midori would do. But as far as I can tell, it is not that different from reality. That fleeting moment of kindness is not the only thing that happened. Even in toxic or abusive relationship there are moments of peace, they are the reason why victims give another chance, they still see the best, trying to disregard all red flags. Perhaps that's what happened to Shin. He still cherished his friend despite being uncomfortable (I think he did feel uneasy due to his memories where he says he was afraid of Midori and, once again, his AI. Not to mention his reactions now, but it is also due to Midori being with kidnapppers). But, as I mentioned in previous posts, then he potentially learned more about how suspicious it all was and grew distrustful.

Also, about toy robot, I admit my assumption is far-fetched, though we know quite little about their actual relationship, so I could picture Midori telling something along the lines "Come on, aren't we best buds, let's put your mega-robot in my house". Not the highest probability, but still. Or Shin indeed could do it of his own volution, but it doesn't cancel out all red flags.

In conclusion, I still stand by my opinion that Midori had negative impact on Shin, and I am not persuaded by Midori supporting Shin as I don't believe it was truly genuine or that Midori was exclusively kind and caring.

It seems we keep discarding evidence of one another as unreliable enough, so I suggest to stop this discussion altogether. I liked reflecting on their friendship with you, but I think there's no point of continuing as we just end up in a stalemate.
