I can't believe 2023 is over, honestly. This year has had some ups and downs for sure but overall I'm so proud of what I've achieved. I started the year mainly writing Stranger Things fics, and while I still love that fandom and all of the wonderful people I met there, my inspiration for writing it was beginning to fade.

And along came 9-1-1. I am so happy with where I've ended up, and for all the new friends I've made since I found this show back in April!

He’s just not planning to let himself get attached to whoever it turns out to be, just in case. He doesn't need a step-parent, because he has Dad, and he has Buck, and that’s enough. Whoever his dad dates, well. They'll probably leave, eventually. Chris doesn’t need to worry about them. Or: Eddie and Buck come to Chris with some news, and he doesn't take it very well at all.

Eddie tried not to stare. He really tried. He didn't notice at first, too preoccupied with the tub of pringles he'd been making his way through while talking about Corroded Coffin's last gig. Sure, he'd noticed the shorts. The ridiculous amount of leg Steve was showing, the way they hugged his ass, but it wasn't until Steve moved, lifted one foot to rest on the cushion, knees spread, that Eddie noticed another feature of the shorts. Or: Steve puts on a bit of an accidental show.

That's it for the favourite Precure poll! Thanks to everyone who voted. It was 141 votes total, of which one vote was removed because it had the same character more than once (which, if kept in, would have affected the middle of the following top 20 list but not the top 5).

So La Mer got both the most votes and most points, while Milky got the most first place votes. Also even with so many contestants, almost every Cure got at least one point, which is nice. And it shows that while some of them clearly got more votes than others, there's still plenty of variance of opinions in the fandom (which is also nice).

Overall I think this was a fun poll and having it be about the top 5 made it more interesting than expecting everyone to pick just one favourite. Originally it even had a top 10, but I ended up cutting it because I worried that google forms is such a cumbersome platform for a poll like this that people might ragequit halfway through.

Finally sorry about the Parfait situation again, if I ever have the same poll in a few years I'll be sure to remember to include her. She did get some write-in votes but I wonder if she got more if voting for her didn't require extra hassle.

I'm a very long-winded person and when I like doing something, I like doing A LOT of it. I recently moved to Tumblr full-time after being stuck with 200-symbol posts on Twitter (ugh), so I'm using the full power of this blogging platform. I'm concerned about the AI, so it's all switched off on all my blogs. I hope Tumblr will wise up and survive, because I love it here so far 💛

As the name suggests, this is my Cyberpunk 2077 blog. I used to do a lot of virtual photography in that one - and yes, this time I mean real VP, though still no paid tools, just vanilla and free mods. I love Goro Takemura and ship my fem V with him heavily - wrote a dope fanfiction about them, too. I reblog other cp77 vp (especially of Goro) and fanart. I don't currently play the game or shoot photos, but I have a large collection I plan to drizzle over the next few months, until I maybe decide to go back to cp77 for a while again and finally play Phantom Liberty that's been waiting for me for a long time now xD.

Bits of trivia: I'm Czech, cis woman (bi & poly and, frankly, hyper), 32, in a relationship, mom to a 5yo boy, a writer struggling to finish and publish her first original novel, drowning her sorrows in fanfic instead :). I got to most of my fandoms quite late in life, because where I live this info only started to properly flow in with the coming of the internet. I'm usually a casual fan, though when I hit a gold vein I can get a bit obsessed. I love writing fanfiction, which is mostly why I'm here on this site. I self-insert a lot (therapy writing) and usually ship us, with the rare occasion of finding a couple where I can identify with one of them (or mold them to my image because I like or even fancy them). I've spent my life believing I was hetero and discovered I'm not only once I (finally) was in a hetero relationship and had a kid, so... my ships are also hetero. It's a habit, not hating, I don't discredit any gay ships (maybe quietly to myself when they don't make any sense to me character-wise, lol). My AO3 account: XindiChick I usually try to write even the most niche of my ships in a way that doesn't require much knowledge of the original, so you're welcome to browse and read to your heart's content if you happen to like my style. I welcome any interactions, especially comments, because I don't get many.

{i am the caretaker of souls} Okay, but one of the muses I’ve lost inspiration for is Natasha, so you see my problem, heh. I don’t know what happened, she just went so quiet a while back. It’s not anything you did at all, so please don’t think that. Sometimes it just happens that muses leave the building, heh. For anyone who would like to know which muses would be on the chopping block across my blogs, I’ll talk a bit about it below the cut. Because I can. =P

But yeah, as far as Natasha, I’ve been trying to squeeze out some muse here and there and respond to what I can get her motivated for, but a lot of times I reach down into the muse well and it’s just dry. I do kindof look at all my asks each week, though, to see if anything grabs the muse, and if it does, I work on it, because I do feel bad that you’ve sent in so many things that I just haven’t been able to reply to. So I’ll keep trying here and there, and who knows, maybe she’ll come back fully at some point.

Veridian on this blog has gone quiet for a long time now, and I’m sure if I look at my list, there are others who have zero activity that I can cut just to mentally downsize things. It’d be easy to cut Ardeth, Luther, and Vincent, because my activity there is fairly low, but I adore all of the threads I have with @illbringthechaosmagic and a few others, and I’m pretty sure I’m the only person actively writing those three characters on T.umb.lr so I’d like to keep doing so. Kindof a labor of love, you know? So at least right now, they’re not going anywhere.

As far as MCU muses, I think I have the same problem with Natasha, Wanda, Clint, Vision, and Pietro right now… lack of new content. I really get inspired by new content, it helps to revive things for me a bit, so when there isn’t any in years, I feel like my muses get stale. I know I could read comics if I wanted to, but honestly I just don’t have the time right now, or the brain to then sort out the differences between MCU and comic versions and choose what my interpretation will then be.

Pietro was really waning there for a while, but he got saved by the “Speedster of the Galaxy” AU because that to me was like new content, heh. It was just content that me and Mantis-mun and others were creating and contributing to instead of official content, which is fine, it’s great! That’s what we’re here for! Plus I love his ship with @starcchild, and that overlaps with my Tony muse here, which is still going strong. So Pietro is safe for now. XD

Wanda… my muse comes and goes for her but lately it just hasn’t been there. I adored DSMoM, but 99% of people I write with didn’t, and I think the negative backlash from the fandom regarding that movie kindof… tempered my muse a bit. Because I felt like I had to hold back or not talk about it or write about it, when I really wanted to. I was excited and inspired to go in all these new directions with Wanda, only to then still be writing during the same points in her timeline that I had been for a few years already. So that’s what’s been preventing my muse for her from really taking off. Anything that I can really get into or that feels new in an exciting way, I’ll jump on it, but lately I’ve been struggling with her. I do love the threads I have with @illbringthechaosmagic and @multiversalstarlight on Wanda’s blog, though, so that’s helped sustain her for a while.

Clint here on this blog… only has one thread right now, and that’s just fine with me, heh. If not for that one thread, he’d be cut. I still haven’t watched the Hawkeye series, mainly because I lost interest, so that gives you an idea of how long my muse for him has been waning. But the one thread I have with @sadiebrin is very cool and I can manage to squeeze out one thread a week with Clint for that. XD

I would love to bring back Red and White Vision, since they’ve been on hiatus for a few months now due to a lack of muse. I feel like it’s been enough of a break and I could maybe get back into them, but… no time, unfortunately. I’d need to cut some other muses that are taking up a lot of time in order to make time for Vision, and I just don’t see that happening. Maybe if I put Wanda on hiatus for a bit, but Pietro’s activity is really high and they’re all on the same day, so… who knows.

I have been toying with the idea of having an MCU multimuse and putting ALL my MCU muses on there, so that if I didn’t have muse for someone on that day, then I could skip them in favor of working on someone I did, but at this point, they’re so established on their own blogs and here on this one that I just feel like… it’d scatter and mess up where all my shit it stored, heh. I have issues with organization and how I think of things as far as what feels neat and calm and organized to me, heh, and that would drive me crazy to have things split everywhere. But on the other hand, it would really help to lump all my MCU people together on one blog.

Question: If I made another side blog mumu for just MCU people, put them all there, and wrote for them on hmm… probably Mondays, and then removed the MCU muses from this blog and wrote all non-MCU people here… what do you think of that? Would you guys like that, hate that, you don’t care…? I’m not asking you to make the decision for me, I’m just curious. I’m a little worried that a new blog might attract more attention and interaction, though, and I really can’t expand my writing partners too much right now, I’ve got enough on my plate. I guess I could just say something like “closed for new partners” or something, I dunno. Thoughts?

well right now blelaf mainly. no ok hang on. alright. so.

when i was really young i had this feeling like if we could all just understand one another, if there was a perfect way to beam your thoughts and feelings into someone's head, it would fix almost everything re conflicts and human suffering. (naive obviously but this was what i thought lol.) when i started to be aware of what it was to read good books and look at good art it felt like in some ways the closest we could come to fully articulating an idea, a moment, a feeling, and placing it in its entirety into someone's mind. relatedly, uh, bad stories/art that didn't seem to respect their audience pissed me off at the squandered opportunity (sorry the snobbery came out sorry) and made me think, dammit, the audience and types of people evoked within this deserve better and i'm gonna try. with the combo of these two things it was like ..okay i'm going to start writing and drawing. it was all about stories ideas concepts. oh and also i really liked rodents and wanted to draw them as often as possible lol. i drew so fucking many rodents. gah. these concepts were no joke deeply linked for me because as a child i genuinely felt like the bad rap rodents get from people unthinkingly condemning them via stereotypes was a symptom of a societal lack of empathy and consideration. (possibly terry pratchett's fault)

 tl;dr plunging themes and concepts i find interesting; communicating them to other people. (sometimes the concept is admittedly not highbrow. sometimes it is very silly. sometimes it is 'hey ! it would be hot if this happened to b*laf'.) it can be hard to reconcile the desire to 'communicate' via art/writing with some of my work just not having much of an audience or even feeling like i don't want to share it for various reasons lol, but in those cases i frame it to myself as, the effort of presenting the idea was enjoyable in and of itself, an act of personal communication between me and the subject or content of the work even if the thing itself will never be shown to another soul : v anyway fanwork can be a neat way to do that because it's like shared muses or canvases where what you see in them or love about them is already partially pre-communicated to people and you can hit the ground running on evoking emotions, concepts and narratives using the shared frame of reference, as well as skewing and transforming said frame as needed. btw i found another drawing of me and the sages that i didnt use in the other post so here it is

there have been many periods of my life when i was making more original work, though. (i'm sure i've said this many times now but before the sages i had a very comparable attachment to a couple of my OCs.) i also had a pretty terrible experience with fandom around middle school that sort of drove me away from heavily engaging for a long time; i was still in fandoms but basically never shared my writing outside of like PMs and servers. that's part of why my current abyss bullshit is so precious to me and also why i can get protective over it; it pretty much singlehandedly brought me back to the Blessings and Curses of being directly engaged in sharing a lot of fan content publicly. (man for a person who doesnt like bondrewd i do quote him a lot unfortunately.)

ADDRESSING COMMON QUESTIONS because even though I've said and state this in my rules, i want to make it clear by actually writing it out myself.

HOW MANY MEMES CAN I SEND? I genuinely mean it when I say send as many as you want. I've had several people send me 20+ memes at once and i sit there Delighted to see them every time. More memes often means multiple dynamics and different situations, and can give me a lot more to work with if i'm feeling a certain genre of writing. The question is how often do you want to see me in your notifs because i do try to answer all the memes I get. So it's a challenge. You spam me, I spam you. mutual exchange. ( and 4 is NOT spamming okay, you gotta hit at least 8 before you can call it spamming in this establishment. )

YOU REBLOGGED THIS MEME AGES AGO, CAN I STILL SEND SOMETHING IN? My memes don't have any time limits on them. I could have reblogged it back in January and if you want to send it in, go for it. The only ones might be like the 'next ten asks' memes since those are for 10 but the common, typical meme? Go wild.

IS IT OKAY TO TURN THIS INTO A THREAD? I literally write my meme replies with the intention of making it easier for people to continue if they want to. New post, and i try to end my meme responses in a way that lets people continue them with ease. I LOVE threads, I've legitimately had 15+ threads with just one person ( not including all my threads with others). So please, if you want to turn something into a thread, literally just take it and run. I'm genuinely thrilled every time someone is inspired or liked a response enough to continue it.

I WANT TO WRITE WITH [MUSE] BUT I DON'T KNOW THEM. CAN I STILL? / DO YOU WRITE CROSSOVERS ? Yes! I'll be honest here. I am FAR, FAR more prone to straight up crossovers than making fandom specific AUs. Sure, I sometimes might. But I love straight up crossovers way more, whether its your muse coming to my world or mine going ot yours. Most of my muses come from sources where ending up in another universe could genuinely happen as well so its not hard to do. I'm always happy to discuss who goes to what world. I think its fun ; plus it makes muse interactions all the more genuine for me in a way since if I don't know the muse, it doesn't somehow influence my muse either. And I'm always happy to share any relevant information to them!

DO YOU WRITE WITH OCS / CANON DIVERGENT / ETC. I do! I genuinely love writing with OCs and I know sometimes it can be hard. I've personally dropped all my OCs because of that. So I try my best to give them attention and build bonds between the characters. And same goes for Canon Divergent! It might need some discussion depending if it effects my muse somehow, but I am genuinely absolutely here for it !

I hope some of this might offer relief to you guys who might have been wondering about these things. I tried to think up common questions / sources of anxiety that people have in the RPC and really write it out here. I'm sure I've missed some and you can feel free to write in the comments or send an ask if there's a question / topic you're wondering about. I definitely feel like i'm missing some pretty obvious ones, but I think these are ones that I've had come up most frequently when interating with new people so maybe this will offer

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I very rarely write angsty endings, so they're kinda notable when they happen: "Cold" (Eobard Thawne/Killer Frost, The Flash) (Very short but I've been told it packs a punch. 🥰😉) "Dark/Light" (chapter 1) (Harry Wells/Caitlin Snow, The Flash) (An experimental fic where the dialogue is exactly the same in ch1 and 2 but they tell vastly different stories. 😉) Honorable mention to "Gray Sunflowers" (Caitlin Snow/Hunter Zolomon, The Flash) as a rare one where the entire fic is a metaphor for depression and even though the ending isn't super angsty by any means, it also isn't particularly hopeful either. It's still one of my favorites, though, because I felt like it has a distinctive voice.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I'm resisting the urge to put "Side Effect" and the, er, multiple "happy endings" that occur in it here, lol! 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly, basically all of my other fics have a happy ending. I might go with "The Thousand and the First" (NSFW)(Eobard Thawne/Caitlin Snow, The Flash) because I wanted it to carry through a complete redemption arc for Eobard and I think it succeeded. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯😉

Do you get hate on fics? So far, no. On vids... oh yeah. 😑

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Um, yep. Lots. I tend to write smut with a funny tone. I've very rarely done a conventional "romance novel" type scene. "Balancing Act" (Ten/Donna, linked above) was one of the first I'd did with that quasi-realistic/funny tone to it.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I've only written one so far: "Cold Hands" (Caitlin Snow/Jordan Mahkent, The Flash/Stargirl), which also has a vid, "Gasoline."

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? "Try" (both versions of Eobard Thawne/Caitlin Snow, The Flash). I have 3 chapters completed and it's definitely the fic with the most world-building in it and it would also be the first full-fledged poly fic I've done. But my inspiration for the Flash just got smushed by the show so repeatedly I doubt I'll ever get enough oomph to finish it.

What are your writing strengths? Funny smut? Taking fandoms that are very not domestic and writing domestic fics in them? (I'm looking at you, Halo. Apologies to all of the Halo fans out there who absolutely hate people like me. 🫣I know you're out there but I appreciate you only vague-posting about me/people like me and not calling me out by name.)

What are your writing weaknesses? I don't write plotty fic very well, nor do I stick to canon very often. Worst thing is how easily I can sabotage myself and get convinced that everybody hates what I write. I've had SO many wonderful comments telling me otherwise but mannnnnn, my Evil Inner Editor can make me feel like the worst imposter ever. 😔

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I've written for Sherloque Wells a handful of times, most notably "Unrequited" (Sherloque/Caitlin, The Flash) but I had help from a genuine French speaker to make sure it was saying what I thought it was saying, lol! It's not something I would want to do a lot, though, because I don't have a good enough grasp on any other language to feel comfortable with it. I greatly admire those who can, though!

First fandom you wrote for? Lord of the Rings, though it's no longer online anywhere. Doctor Who was my official entrance in the awesome world of fanfic after that!

Favorite fic you’ve written? Well, ask me my favorite child, why don't you? 😮🤣 How about I pick one two that haven't been mentioned so far that I'd love to see get more attention? "Phase Two" (Ninth Doctor/Rose Tyler, Doctor Who) is a sentimental fav and "Offer" (Eobard Thawne/Killer Frost, The Flash) is honestly a world I would've loved to have written more in because I found it so interesting.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

Mmm, I don't actually have a character I hate, but I'm not particularly fond of the general fanon characterization of Xiao. I adore his character, and the man vs self struggle that's both the internalization of his past as well as his 'acceptance' is just *chef's kiss*.

But while he sounds edgy, Xiao's pretty soft. Sure his en voice is on the gruff/edgy side, but if we always just took voices at face value then ho boy would that be a world of trouble. I get it though, voices generally should (take v lightly) match the characterization, but I really like his en voice! Laila Berzins did so good!

14. that one thing you see in fics all the time

Yandere-ization is noticeably prevalent in Genshin, which I think just is because it just so happens they both became more popular (the yandere tropes/characterizations and Genshin in general) around the same time. It's not my cup of tea, but it's not the end of the world either. At one point, scrolling through ao3, I'd pretty much see a yandere fic every other work--especially for characters like Scaramouche or Xiao or Kazuha.

16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

Making everything edgy- Genshin isn't really a just soft feelings game, and a ton of the characters have a pretty dark backstory, but I just am not super into this. It's probably because I'm also just tired of getting such dreary (?) stuff from fandom, but who knows. Specifically though making it seem like Kaeya and Diluc hate each other's guts, making Albedo seem like he's cold or purely calculative, Kaeya being only manipulative and sleazy, Diluc being only broody and grim, Xiao being overly rude and mean, Scaramouche (/j).

That's not to say I downright hate it, but man it does get a little tiring seeing it. That's probably why I tend to write only soft stuff- also writing angst puts me in intense pain

17. there should be more of this type of fic/art

MERMAID--Merbedo my beloved...I want more mermaid fics and art! And I know it's mermay but (': I've been so busy that I don't have the time and I am down my tablet so I also can only do traditional art OTL

18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...

Soft poetic characterization of Kazuha, domestic Xiao, RUBEDOOO (subject 2).

I just love the idea of Kazuha just quietly musing over something, no matter it's importance, or maybe even just admiring the simplicity of something that's equally profound. Kazuha being flowery in his language with that dreamy feel but you can still feel the brewing storm within his mind- oiashdfioe

Xiao being (not) forced into a situation where he's with someone for an extended amount of time, shadowed by his worries about his karma effecting but also those silently brewing emotions that flutter at the simplest thing. Xiao not being very physically affectionate but instead leaving little gifts, or perhaps offering to take watch (like you're traveling together towards a common goal or something and he sees that you're nodding off while on watch so he sits there a little ways away to keep an eye on you while you sleep but also make sure no harm comes).

AND RUBEDO (': I miss him, I want more mhy please give me more of him because I KNOW he's not dead. There's no way--regardless of whcih Bedo is the Albedo at the end of Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, there's no way that he's dead. If the Bedo is Albedo, then he's clearly hiding something or making light of the situation. If it's Rubedo then that's self explanatory.

it doesn't even matter if he *actually* gets much more content I just wanna know my other boy is safe and sound (or maybe just alive yknow)

OH AND EULA! I get that there's that whole thing where people overreacted and took it way out of proportion (esp. on twt), but Eula is a great character! She's good for the trope of breaking away from what you're associated with and I feel like she could do with being included more in the game! I hope she gets another character story because I think she's pretty cool neat

Scaramouche. I still am baffled that he's the reason I started writing for Genshin and why I have an unholy knowledge of his entire character and background like I think about it and wonder "the hell?"

Also his personality is exactly the type of person that pisses me off irl so I hate that I really like his character.

Peeps who hear 'Genshin' and immediately just- yknow the thing. Judging and stuff like "Oh. You're one of those people." Like, right back at you dude, you're one of those people who judge someone based off what they enjoy and just can't let people to enjoy what they like right? Yeah thought so.

Last Song: Had Radio Company's Keep on Ramblin' on as I had a nap earlier so something from there.

Favourite Colour: (Yes i gave Canadian spelling) Black. I LOVE Black way too much but if you don't consider that or white colours then its a tie between blue and yellow.

Last Movie/TV show: Supernatural of course for tv. Movie i can't remember off the top of my head so I'll give a second last tv show which was Ally McBeal.

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Sweet for sure. I'm so addicted to chocolate and sweets its bad. Then Savory.

Relationship Status: Married to my high school sweetheart. We met when I was 15 and he was 16 and been together ever since. 32 years and still going. We are the epitome of boring old married couple and I love it even when he's a cranky asshole!

Last thing I googled: Hair colour photo's because i decided to drastically change my hair. Think long (mid back) thick and blond to a dark chocolate bob. Needed a big change. Needed to not live with it pulled into a bun all the time because I'm too lazy to do anything with it, lol.

Current Obsession: A friend just recommended Tangents with Tyler and Todd podcast on Youtube and I have binged it all. first they talk a lot about their relationship and history then they get into what they call tea time and those eps are HILARIOUS. Basically people writing in their scandalous situations and the boys comment and give their advice. Once I binged that in like 3 days I then went back to watch all their rv trip (right before covid) and am now watching them set up land off grid during covid, lol. They are the sweetest gay couple who married after university and have been together 15 years and they are the cutest most adorable couple. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for something to watch.

and of course SPN ever since i started it during the pandemic. I will forever be grateful to Covid for this particular thing, giving me time to tackle a 15 season show. By the end of the first year i had seen the whole thing three times already and was deep into youtube con videos.

Last book: Although I used to read romance novels and some biographies all the time I haven't read anything except fanfiction in like a year, year and a half. Too obsessed with Wincest to read anything else these days.

Looking forward to: So many things. Looking forward in what sense... entertainment? Well I'm going to watch the He-Man Revolution with two of my kids tomorrow that we have wanted to see. Looking forward to any J2 content from the next convention. Looking forward to finding my muse again and getting back to writing (really want that one to happen but its been gone since a medications change at the end of summer). Oh here's a personal one, looking forward to more snow so my husband and three kids (teens - 20s) go away sledding and i can have the whole house to myself. peace and quiet!!!!!

A/N: This takes place after Christmas Carols. And this is obviously subjective. I happen to find NYC gorgeous and charming in the winter and at Christmas time…I’m sure there are many who would disagree. 🤣

You shivered as an ice cold breeze swept through you. Dave noticed and pulled you into his side to help keep you warm.

“It’s so cold,” you murmured.

“Yeah,” Dave agreed. “It’s not usually this cold…it’s going to be a harsh winter.” You shivered again. Your parents had returned from their trip late on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning was spent opening presents you couldn’t care less about. Your parents still believed if they bought you things, you’d be happy. Parents who gave a shit about you would make you happy.

After presents you had all gotten dressed and headed over to the York’s house for Christmas dinner. It was something you did every year, though this year was a bit more awkward. Well, every year was awkward due to the inappropriate crush you had on Dave for so long, but this year was especially uncomfortable now that you were having an affair with him. Dave had pulled you into the guest bathroom while everyone was distracted to kiss you, then invite you to New York for New Year’s Eve. You had to contain your squeal of excitement, and immediately agreed. So, after Christmas, you told your parents you were going to New York with some friends from school to celebrate the New Year. They barely even reacted and told you to have fun.

“I’m so glad we did this,” you said happily.

“Me too, baby girl,” Dave replied. “After getting you all to myself last weekend, I got addicted. Needed to get my next fix.” You laughed and hugged him closer. He had booked a swanky hotel overlooking Times Square. Neither of you wanted to venture out tomorrow on New Year’s Eve since it would be insanely crowded, so Dave made sure your hotel room had a perfect view of the ball drop. You had decided today was a good day to explore the city and look at all the Christmas decorations still on display in all the store windows.

“The city is so beautiful at Christmas,” you mused. It had snowed a few days before, so it was a literal winter wonderland.

“Ive always loved New York,” Dave said, “but it’s even better this time of the year.” You walked a bit further and then stopped in your tracks outside the Tiffany’s store. The window display had you mesmerized. It was breathtaking. It was a miniature scene of decorating a Christmas tree. The iconic Tiffany chandeliers surrounded it. A gorgeous solitaire engagement ring sat on a small chair in front of the tree. You couldn’t take your eyes off it. Dave pressed himself up against your back and wrapped his arms around your waist. He snuggled his head next to yours to look at the display.

“One day,” he said softly, “when I can do it safely, I’m going to divorce Carol and put that ring on your finger, baby girl.” You sucked in your breath. Dave had never really discussed a future with you before.

“Really?” You whispered.

“Yeah,” he nodded. “I told you. love you. You’re mine, baby girl, and one day the whole world will know it.” You turned in his arms.

“I love you too,” you whispered. He kissed you sweetly.

“Let’s go in,” he decided.

“Now?” You asked, pulling back in surprise.

“Yeah,” he said with a nod. “I’m buying you that ring tonight.”

“Dave!” You gasped.

“I’m serious,” he said in a low voice. “You’re mine. Forever. I want that ring in my possession to prove to you I mean it.” You blinked away tears.

“I never thought you’d want that with me,” you said in a small voice.

“I want everything with you,” he said simply. “Marriage, a house, kids, a future. I just have to keep playing this part until it’s safe for me to make the changes I need to…you know my work is dangerous.” You nodded. “I won’t risk you. I have to make sure it’s safe before we start our future.”

“I understand,” you said immediately. “I can wait, Daddy.” He smiled.

“That’s my good girl,” he murmured. “Now let’s go buy you a ring.”

3 - What fandoms do you write for?

Redacted Audio, Owari no Seraph, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Funamusea Universe, Hollow_ VA, Tokyo Ghoul, and D.Gray-Man by technicality though that oneshot isn't done or posted yet, lol. The ones I write for on the regular honestly vary depending on my mood and current devotion to the series, including the possible spite I feel towards that series, lmao. There are way more brief fic sparks I get for other series, but just never get the inspiration to go through with and end up forgetting.

4 - What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Yes! I love giving love back to the love I recieve! Admittedly though, the only comments I haven't responded to seemed more like musing aloud, and I genuinely wasn't sure how to respond, lol. Now I feel like it's too late, so I feel awkward trying to respond now, but I feel bad not doing so all the same....

6 - What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Probably Inversion: Another Story considering all the death and bad things it leaves off on, lol.

7 -What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

To Date a Vampire, though it's more like...reader-self-insert-y I guess? But is basically pure fluff, lol.

8 - Do you get hate on fics?

Not yet! I expected to get more hate for how many OC and OC/Canon fics I write, but my fics don't tend to garner much attention over all anyways I think, so it can't reach the loud haters, lol.

9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nope!! I hate writing smut, I don't like reading smut that much either. I'm a fade-to-black type writer. The closest thing I'll get to writing smut is maybe writing brief instances of the off-screen smut, and there'll be a graphic sexual assault scene later in EIC (y'know, for the therapeutic aspect).

10 - Do you write crossovers?

...Technically? Lmfao. Though unfinished, Our Solemn Hour is a crossover with Tsubasa and X/1999, with many of the X characters appearing in it mostly as cameos. Embers of an Iridescent Cage is maybe a crossover between stories? Though, Decem: Anges et Demons does exist now. Burning Wings is a crossover-ish with characters from Tsubasa in a setting inspired by The Last of Us, though I didn't crosstag it in the latter fandom since the only similarity is literally just the setting. And that's all.

11 - Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I better fucking not. (No one wants my trash lmfao.)

No, but that would actually be incredible if it happened.

No, I am a selfish, haughty bastard and I need full reign over my stories, lmfao. Unless the other person was a similar writer with very similar ideas to me, it would never work. (Plus...I write about my FCs so often, so, lol. I personally find it very difficult to write stories about characters that aren't my own, hence the large volume of OC fic.)

That's a great question. (It honestly varies depending on my mood. Mostly OC/Canon ships probably. I do still adore SuzuFeri.)

I mean, if you know the language or do your research, go for it! Maybe add a footnote mentioning what was said for non-speakers if it wasn't brought up in the fic? (I don't personally ever plan for this myself for fics, but it is a small thing I plan on doing research for in my novel series, and I feel the same about original work too.)

OKAY SO, I think my actual first fanfic ever was a Kingdom Hearts fanfic, but the first one I posted on ao3 was for Owari no Seraph.

Fic-iversary, Year 2!

So two years ago, I posted my first ever JatP fic (you can read it here if you so want-or the one I posted today if you'd rather) and whoo what a ride it has been since then!

I said at the time I wasn't sure if I was gonna write more for this fandom or not, not fully realizing how fully this silly little ghost show would consume my life. Now here we are, 2 years, 60+ fics (and almost 500 ficlets!) later.

We've gone through some hardships, and the fandom has definitely gotten smaller, but I'm sticking it out. I have too many ideas not to!

But because it's an anniversary of sorts, I just wanted to send some love to a few people who have made the ride all the sweeter. I love all of you Fantoms of course, but these four have been floating here in the Rulie canoe with me and deserve the extra attention.

@jmrothwell Josie, it has been a pleasure to watch you blossom as a writer in this fandom, and I just love your determination and creativity. Merry Christmas and happily holidays! 

I honestly can’t belive that I joined this fandom by coincidence almost, if I had never said anything about wanting a new muse and had Arson not recommended me watching HH at the time then I wouldn’t be here now. 

Which honestly would be quite sad for me since it would have meant that I never got to meet some of you. I remember being scared off pretty much all the people that followed me at first just to end up being friends with a lot of you. Actually if you go even further back if I hadn’t ever downloaded Tumblr on my phone to look at fan art and randomly stumbled across role players then not only wouldn’t I be here I would probably still be single! 

It’s wild to me to think about how many people I met since I joined not only this RPC but Tumblr in general. Some have come and gone out of my life, others didn’t leave a lasting impression but there are a few that I consider to be good friends of mine who I will remember for quite some time no matter what happens. 

I would tag who I all mean but nobody needs that spam and you guys know who you are anyway. 

If I am honest I still sometimes wonder about my place in this RPC, I think making this blog for Dia helped with that but I sometimes just wonder what people think when they hear my name. I would hope that it would be either good things or something cursed but well I don’t really know. I try my best to be kind but I am sure there are people out there that dislike me which is a normal part of live. 

Anyway I really just wanted to thank all of you, who have accepted me as part of the community and take time out of their day to write sometimes very silly things with me, from the bottom of my heart. I can’t imagine how boring my live would be if I didn’t have all you chaos noodles in it and I am grateful for all of you.

7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?

The probably obvious answer (if you’re me) to that is Nature 2.0, which contains the largest amount of actual worldbuilding I’ve done so far, but given the fact that I’ve only completed about 7% of the worldbuilding it needs, I’m not sure I can really choose this? In any case, it’s a dystopian future with bioengineered people and houses and miniature pet triceratops and feelies (which seem the logical next step after movies and talkies), and global conspiracies, and I don’t know much about the political landscape in general but Scotland, Ireland, and Wales are independent. Also Seoul is a floating city and the US have probably disintegrated. So bio-punk dystopian au?

Other noteworthy pieces of worldbuilding: Morning Rituals (in which I dreamed up a whole ‘canon but with dinosaurs’ world and then used it only to write smut that didn’t feature any dinosaurs) and Battlefield (a WWI/WWII AU).

All of these are for my previous main fandom, Metal Gear Solid. I definitely came up with more interesting AU settings for that one, huh? For Jatp, I think the best contender is my darkish merman au, Call of the Ocean | Depths of Devotion but that’s not a whole lot of worldbuilding and just a bit of creaturebuilding, tbh.

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

Okay, my first thought was “high school au” which just shows that my brain did not get the assignment. Learn to read and process, brain! 

But the truth is, I have no clue. I don’t read as much fanfic as I used to or would like to but I think my preferences have stayed pretty consistent throughout the years.

25. What other websites or resources do you use most often when you write?

Since I’m not a native speaker, I do use a dictionary website frequently enough that it’s usually open in a tab. Sometimes it’s just for checking spelling, sometimes it’s to reverse search for a German word I’ve forgotten, sometimes it’s a sort of thesaurus. But I do also use one of those on occasion as well.

I mostly use both of those in a passive vocabulary way though, i.e. finding words I already knew but just forgot about, instead of finding completely new words. That happens, too, of course, but it’s riskier, also of course.

37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?

As always, my answer to this is The Last Standing because I still love it a lot. It was the first jatp story I started and the second I posted, and it tries to unravel the path of how Bobby turns into Trevor. But it’s a character piece and not shippy plus I wrote it at a time when the fandom still primarily hated Trevor and ignored Bobby so … not much of an audience for it.

It didn’t do terribly and it’s actually in the top third of how many kudos I got on jatp fics but I think that’s mainly because it was early days so it had more time to accumulate them but it still feels a little … ignored? I know that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. But the heart feels what the heart feels.

Okay, I’m just going to say thank you to my muse for staying unpredictable. Do I wish she was more constant in her attention to me? Yes, absolutely. I would love to write more again (although that is also fraught with danger when it comes to publishing and managing expectations). But the thing I find very comforting is that I have returned to something long abandoned often enough and then found myself motivated again and often even finished writing it, that I don’t despair about losing motivation for a fic. Because chances are good that I will eventually return to it. Maybe years later but that’s okay. It’s not completely lost.

How did you first get into Naruto? And what drew you to Kabuto as your muse? 💚

*sit down kiddies. It's going to be a long story that I'm going to try to keep it short.*

I was about 13 years old when Toonami started showing the anime Naruto and I remembered that back then. I wasn't really into the Naruto fandom or any fandom. (I also was a major Sonic the Hedgehog fan back then.)

And believe it or not, it was the chuunin exams and Orochimaru of all characters that brought my attention to the anime into watching it. The whole "predator and prey" mentality and the brutal tests from the show had me hooked. And what made me a complete fan?

The moment when Kisame Hoshigaki showed up with the promise of wanting to cut off Naruto's legs in order to make him easier to carry. And I only kept reading just so that I can see both Orochimaru and Kisame.

That... was when I was hooked to the show. Especially when Itachi scared the crap outta me too with his brutal beating of Sasuke who at the time we all thought that he was the gifted.

Was it hilarious that I never once had an anime crush or was ship obsessed when I was in the fandom? I just loved the show because of the fights! I also remembered crying a lot when Naruto and Sasuke are fighting each other at the end of the first season of Naruto because, "They were friends, I can't believe that it has come to this..."

As for the origins of this Kabuto blog and it's creation? You should thank @kimimarothechosenvessel for encouraging me to make it!

I was merely a invisible OC blog and a Manda rp blog in the past when I haven't really got the hang of roleplaying with people and it was when the fandom was thriving and full of people. And as awkward as it was, I always wanted to rp with an Orochimaru and Kabuto blog to go with my OC and Manda (as in the Orochimaru's snake summon). But unfortunately a lot of them were either very selective, private, or just outright rude to you or problematic rpers with bad reputations. And when I was trying to roleplay with a (now gone) very popular kabuto blog with a thread or even just an offer of friendship to get to know them.

Without even saying a word or at least a reason, they outright ignored and blocked me while rping with other people and even OCs just fine. Just like as if I didn't even exist to them.

That day, and after so many rejections and when I had a friend who was a Kabuto blog that decided to leave the fandom for personal reasons and I had the chance to say goodbye to them.

I decided to become my own Kabuto blog. One that I won't even have that worry of being rejected or even thinking of having to try to impress the "elites" when I can just have fun my own way.

So while I had my own worries about my portrayal, Kimimaro mun convinced me into making the blog and was quite patient with me at the start till I started to get the hang of it. And then before you know it? I had this blog for years and it's still going strong! Kabuto still captivates me as a character on his own and even now, I still am learning new things from him. Sure that I'm not a super popular blog nor aesthetically beautiful enough to gather attention or is my writing as perfect as a lot of peoples. But isn't the whole purpose of roleplaying is to have fun?

I guess I could say that perhaps I was a bit annoying in the past, even if I did learn from it and how hard roleplayers have nowadays. But even then, I wouldn't be as cruel enough as to ignore such requests and treat people like crap. Even then, tbh I still have my own troubles with this blog and even being canon roleplay blog doesn't spare you from the pain and drama that happens in the community and in private messaging from your former and current friends.

I guess you could say that I picked Kabuto... because I myself really wanted a friend who was a kabuto roleplayer so I decided to become one for everyone!
