Thinking about Sam and how central autonomy and violation is to his character. How many times and ways he had his choice taken away throughout the series. All the things we don’t know about his time with Lucifer, but are also so heavily implied that we do.

Imagining he eventually gets out of The Life and becomes a victim’s advocate. He ultimately decides not to try and pursue law school at this stage in his life—it’s been so long and so much has changed—but finishes his bachelor’s and pursues a master’s in social work. He never expected to end up here: the boy with the demon blood, no longer living out some doomed and twisted fate, helping people. He’s passionate about representing those made most vulnerable and unsafe in their own skin, supporting others as they come out the other side survivors, lending the compassion he’s always struggled to have for himself. Every time he listens to someone else’s story, helps connect them to resources, advocates for their case, he heals a little bit too.

i am officially, FINALLY all caught up again in both the manga and the anime for bsd and OH BOY there are thoughts and opinions but also WHO CARES because my tags are finally FREE to be unfiltered

#hnnnnnn #i am SO happy #i am BEYOND happy #i love the arc even if i complain about it a lot #but i am also hnnnnnn…….displeased……..with a few things #the anime fr about to catch these hands #i already KNEW they were rushing it from the few episodes i had watched #but the anime is usually SO good at pacing #that i fully trusted that certain things would be slowed down for significance/impact/etc #but instead the pacing just stayed WAY too fast for me #and they ended up cutting SO many small moments that had SO much importance like im going crazy about some of them #some of the lines they cut……. #or even adjusted slightly that it drew away the impact #ugh i KNOW there was a LOT to balance and a LOT of content to get through #but i am a little disappointed that so many emotional scenes were what ended up suffering for it #this is why i don’t usually like reading the manga for animes i watch #i always end up getting disappointed by the limitations of adaptations #that being said though regardless of general limitations i don’t think some of the rushing is above criticism #and i am going to go and eat glass while seething over the particularly offensive rushing/cuts😤 #OKAY DONE that’s the last i’ll say about it i would just go crazy if i didn’t vocalize it somewhere #in general i was VERY happy with the arc in both the manga and the anime i have SO much love for it #definitely a favorite for me #and THAT concludes my very vague no spoiler review #i swear one of these days my self control is going to snap #and im just going to start posting my full essays and content analysis shit about everything i watch here #but for now we’re safe and all my rants will stay spoiler free tag paragraphs instead godbless🙏

The thing about those posts that are like “cis people can go on masculinizing/feminizing hrt” or “cis people can get trans surgeries” is that imo if you’re doing things that change your sex you kind of are trans. Even if you identify with the gender you were assigned, you are transing your sex and that’s a trans experience. Like you may not be transgender but you are transsexual which is still trans. I just don’t think it really makes sense to classify someone as cis when they have materially changed their sex, even if they identify as the gender they were assigned

#this is why I identify as a transmasc woman. I was cafab and I’m a woman but I’m pursuing medical transition to change my sex #so it doesn’t make sense to me to call myself cis because taking hrt and getting surgeries to alter my sex is a trans experience #there’s more nuance to my identity as a transnasc woman than just that and I also don’t see my sex and gender as completely separate #but I’m not getting into all of the details here. although I’m always willing to answer questions abt it because I love to talk about myself #also because I know people on this website love to interpret things in bad faith on purpose #this post is not implying that trans people who don’t medically transition aren’t trans #medical transition and rejecting your assigned gender are both things that make you trans even if you do one without the other #because they’re both in opposition to the way that gender and sex are imposed upon us by cis societal rules
