why is it that when I write fanfic I get wayyyy caught up in details that don't matter (I seriously just googled "types of deer in Poland" so I could figure out the average deer height there and compare it to how tall Nina is next to one in Apocalypse so I could guestimate her height. This, surely, is not crucial to a fanfiction about Peter Maximoff and all his familial angst) and then I get so stuck on big details, like how to actually end a fic??

#brain.... please do what I want. think of ways to wrap this fic up #like youre telling me im spending time doing this and I *still* (after like 2 1/2 years) can't figure out a proper ending for this fic??#if I don't do this (inconsequential) research though it's gonna bug me that I wasn't “accurate” *facepalm*#sometimes being detail oriented w/ adhd is cool and sometimes it means I am powerless against extensively researching really dumb stuff #sigh #peter maximoff #quicksilver #xmen #nina gursky #xmen apocalypse #the magnet family #fietro's writing

Hello and welcome to the House of Dadneto 2024!

I am extremely excited to announce the very first House of Dadneto event, a month-long fan creation challenge with a focus on Magneto and his (many) children! The event runs throughout the entirely of June 2024, and includes 15 main prompts, 15 alternate prompts, and an extra 10 prompts designed for editors! You can check out the whole list of prompts here!

All fanwork mediums are welcome (fics, art, animations, edits etc.) and you can complete as many or as few prompts as you would like, though there are prizes for those who complete either 15 or 30 prompts by the end of the month! Check out the rules here for information on how to participate, how to qualify for prizes, and any other questions you might have!

Hello everyone! I'm back again with another piece of banner art for the @house-of-dadneto event, this time starring the Fox-Verse Magnet Family! These guys were how I first got into dadneto, so they'll always hold a special place in my heart, even if we were robbed of seeing them at their full potential. I suppose that's what us fan creators are for though, right? 😭

Andreas Gursky’s photographs are strangely fascinating: from the early 1990s on he developed what he calls „knitted“ photographs, made up of different individual shots, massive in format and detail (and eventually also price). In 2008 the Kunstmuseen Krefeld staged a grand retrospective of Gursky’s works from 1980 to the then present at Houses Lange and Esters, an exhibition that was accompanied by the present handy catalogue: published by @hatjecantzverlag it offers a beautifully designed and comprehensive overview of the photographer’s development over almost thirty years, from his early „Pförtnerlogen“ to later works like „Kuwait Stock Exchange“. What we get to see in these photographs is the morphology of the world that grew in scope alongside Gursky‘s success: where his early works explore his familiar surroundings of the Rhineland and Ruhr Area he later travelled the world in order to capture the determinants of our globalised world. Interestingly there’s always a somewhat distant but inevitable presence of man in relation to the world. When Gursky photographs stock exchanges, production halls or crowds of people during concerts he makes visible more than the human eye can see. But at the same time he captures determinants and symptoms of the present day in the manner of an encyclopedia of which each photograph is a necessary part. Read in this way his massive and massively successful work functions as an inventory of the late-capitalist world we live in and opens up a resonance space for the manifold discussions surrounding the human condition‘s status quo. „Andreas Gursky - Werke 80-08“ is an excellent cross section of the photographer‘s career that thankfully also brings to light his lesser-known series from the 1980s, more intimate, smaller works that often possess a subcutaneous wit his later works only rarely show.
