Okay I had a whole thing typed that was my review for the new Pokémon dropped in Indigo Disk, but tumblr ate it, so take 2
Starting with my favorite, Archaludon. It's a dragon, a kaiju, also a stapler remover, also a bridge with power cables inside. This is a really cool design overall and fixes what I dislike about Duraludon, and it's fun to play with. 9/10
Hydrapple fixes what I dislike about Dipplin, but does make Flapple and Appletun a bit obsolete. Regardless, it's a fun idea and concept- I love that 7 Syrpents (which I guess aren't individually pokemon on their own? Slowbro Shelder situation I guess) make up 1 pokemon. It's silly but fun. 8/10
Also these two are neat because the concepts tie into New York/ Unova if we look at it through lense of Archaludon's Sky Arrow Bridge being based on Brooklyn Bridge and Rainbow Bridge, and Hydrapple clearly being a Big Apple reference. Very creative
Onto the paradoxes
Raging Bolt is interesting. I prefer Raikou, and I'll be the first to admit that I do not give a shit about how many cultural or historical references are in a design, if it looks like shit its a shit design. But this design is pretty okay, and because of that I can appreciate ALL of the inspirations that went into its design.
First off, with the Beast Paradoxes drawing inspiration from dinosaurs, we have Raging Bolt as the Thunder Lizard- aka Brontosaurus. That alone is meat, but it's still pretty mammalian compared to Walking Wake- that's because there's references to something called a Questing Beast. In Medieval times, before the age of cameras or fact checking, a description of an animal far far away- such a giraffe- can get twisted abd distorted via several games of telephone until we get to a creature that combines the lower body of a leopard and deer and the neck and head of a snake- aka the Questing Beast. Raging Bolt plays a bit with all of these ideas in a pretty unique and fun way. 8/10
Iron Crown- admittedly the Justice Paradoxes suffer a bit from the same "just make it a robot" mentality that plagues other Violet Paradoxes, but the Swords of Justice got the better end of it, I'd say. Iron Crowns in particular actually fixes what I hate about Cobalion by adding segments to the legs and thus making them feel less like bipedal knees on a quadrupedal animal.
It's signature move, Tachyon Cutter, also looks so cool in action by making the horns HUGE and GLOWING. That's awesome imo. 8/10
And now the new paradoxes we knew were coming
Gouging Fire, Entei's Paradox. I'll say that I like it, although this is the least changed of the Beasts and is basically just Entei in a fancy hat. Hey, that's fine though.
The dinosaur Entei is based on is some kind of ceratopsian blend. I personally thought they'd go in that direction with a triceratops design, so I was close. The head dress piece actually gives me Ho-Oh vibes, in particularly the gold and greens, which could be purposeful and root the Beasts Paradoxes back to the Beast's master, Ho-Oh. Fun design, 8/10
Iron Boulder. This one imo is more of the "robot" angle but done in a very good way. I like Terrakion best out of the Swords to begin with, but only at certain angles in 2d (they murdered him in SV. Murdered. He looks like a cross eyed frog now.) Iron Boulder takes the bulky build of Terrakion and makes it work better in 3d by incorporating spherical and cone builds along its body and head.
It definitely looks the LEAST like a psychic type out if any psychic type I've ever seen, but that's fine. Like Iron Crown with its twin horns and Iron Leaves with its 3 blades, Iron Boulder has a cool looking sword move- his turns his two larger horns into ONE MASSIVE GLOWING BLADE. THAT'S REALLY COOL! 8/10
And now. The Boy
Terapagos is a cute design that becomes more elegant, refined, and Stellar as it becomes stronger. While I'm a bit disappointed at how they handled it in story after a year of build up, I do think the designs after it's base form are incredibly detailed and creative.
The type patterns on its shell actually shift and change smoothly to other types, and the Terastilized form is even more incredible by representing every type plus a hat version of its original form. Beautiful, yet imposing, and a tad silly. The dome is an interesting take that I believe might represent the world or perhaps even a larger turtle- the design could reference one of many World Turtle mythologies and possibly have it represent a planet in space, or maybe a Turtle floating in the ocean, perhaps it's even a reference to the Tale of Urashima Taro. If Terapagos was available in Blueberry Academy- which I think it started out that way in planning- it could even represent the Terarium itself. Perhaps a deeper story was originally planned but dropped- like the castles and gigantic tree of Crown Tundra.
Regardless, base form is a 6/10. Its cute but kinda pointless. The other forms though are 8/10 though for incredible execution, wonderful and pleasing use of color, and overall just being great.
This batch of new Pokémon is way better than Teal Mask's, let's be real. For the paradoxes, I'll say the Future ones got better after Iron Leaves, while Walking Wake was the peak for the Beasts. Ogerpon wins for cutest legendary with the best build up, but Terapagos definitely wins for best design. This batch is an everall 8/10

Love the idea that shiganshina becomes a fucking cyberpunk capital and not just a big city
Anyway all jokes aside, the ending still feels a bit inconsequential seeing that no one dies in the final battle, considering how the rest of the show was. Eren's still a coward and a pussy and his inability to act with decisiveness is the reason shiganshina (and presumably the rest of Paradis) is inevitably destroyed, it also proves the Jaegarists point that no matter what happens theyll never stop trying to wipe out eldians, even centuries after titans are wiped out. Eren lied to the people of Paradis and got them killed so like 8 people could live half decent lives cleaning up his mess, most hollow victory of all time. Over all its like a 7/10 ending, there isnt any other way it really could have ended comsidering the story. The new paradis emblem is so fucming cool tho holy shit. Get Rumbled Stay Humbled.

Just an update as to what we’ve been up to! I know it hasn’t been all that active here on Tumblr as I (@reaux07) have been house hopping for the past month, but hopefully when things get more stable, we can get back into the groove of things! Image description under the cut.

I read 166 books in 2022. Yes, some of them were shorter books: several middle-grade books and a few advance review copies of picture books. Most were novels, though few were truly giant tomes. I really enjoyed most of them.
Which is to say, trying to pick the "top ten" was excruciating and an exercise doomed to failure. So... I cheated. Or rather, I modified the goal. 4cr Plays - Freshly Frosted (PS4)
Hi. Anybody still out there? It's been a minute, eh? Life happens, and suddenly it has been quite some time since the last post.
However, sometimes, just when the world is getting to be too much, a metaphorical hand descends from the clouds with a wonderfully wholesome, addictive puzzle game for you to get lost in for a few days. In this case, that game is Freshly Frosted - a sugar and pastel-filled puzzle game about topping and delivering donuts.
I've been sucked into the game recently, and you get to hear all about it.
The core idea at the heart of Freshly Frosted is that your bakery has machines that produce plain donuts and counters where the donuts are served. In between are stations that dispense toppings - frosting, whipped cream, sprinkles, and so on. Your task is to lay conveyer belts in the right configuration to deliver donuts with the correct toppings to the counters.
Take a look at this level here. The machine with green arrows is releasing the plain donuts. Your conveyer belt takes the donut past the frosting machine (in pink), then sprinkles (blue), then whipped cream (white), then cherries (red). Finally, the finished donuts speed towards the exit (the machine with blue arrows at the end).
Now, you can't just lay any conveyer belt in this level. The order of the toppings matters. Additional mechanics are also steadily added that increase the complexity. You might have multiple dispensers, and multiple exits - each demanding a different topping configuration. Later levels get even more complex, adding in pushers, cloners, teleporters, and other complications.
The entire experience has a meditative quality. Mechanics are added slowly and steadily, so while there is a shift in difficulty, you have time to get used to new mechanics before others are introduced. Each puzzle is narrated with a calming voiceover - focused on positive encouragement - and the gentle, catchy soundtrack sucks you in. The art direction itself is also really colorful and pleasing. The end result is this tremendous hit of serotonin that will cure pretty much anything bothering you.
Freshly Frosted has a total of 144 puzzles to solve, split over a series of 12 themed "boxes". Each box has its own theme and new puzzle twists, including the seasons - imagine pumpkin shaped donuts and deep orange and red color selections for the autumn - nights under the moon, and so on.
I've really enjoyed my time with Freshly Frosted. The puzzles are quite satisfying to solve, and the difficulty does ramp up nicely. Still, even the later puzzles are absolutely solvable without a Ph.D., and won't leave you stressed out. There is also a nice hint system if you do get stuck - it gives you a starting point for placing your conveyer belts that you can build off of. If you do get stuck, you can also skip individual puzzles and return to them later.
It's a game that you should absolutely not binge, but play for a puzzle or two at a time to chill out after a long day. I'd guess that a total playthrough would take about 10 hours, maybe less.
If you're looking for a wholesome and addictive puzzle game to get lost in, then I heartily recommend Freshly Frosted. I played on PS4, but would actually say that this game would be best on either Switch or the Steam Deck - something you can take to bed with you to ease your way to sleep. In any case, this is definitely a puzzler worth checking out.

Rock Point Collection by Freya Barker
Four Book Collection
This is an author that once read would become a go-to and must-read author for me. When I saw this collection of four books, three of which I had not yet read, available, I snapped it up. Freya Barker has a unique ability to create a world that is populated by complex characters I’d like to have as friends and provides stories that have me rooting for the main characters to come out with one another in their lives forever. No two books are the same and each one provides a story that I love from beginning to end. So…here’s my take on the four books that introduce and FBI team that will provide over 1000 pages of enjoyment in one volume as each of them find their HEA with their perfect partner.
KEEPING 6: The introduction to the Rock Point Series sees Damian and Kerry meeting briefly in a case that Damian is involved in. Awhile later they meet again as Damian tackles another case involving stolen first edition high-value books and perhaps this time the time is right for a HEA.
CABIN 12: Next up is FBI Agent Jasper’s turn to find his HEA with Damian’s sister Bella. This time the FBI case deals with police corruption and medical professionals working together in criminal activities that include murder. It also deals with a character dealing with depression swept under the rug but dealt with through the story.
HWY 555: This is the one I had read before. Loved Luna going undercover with the MC, falling for Ouray, and the way her issues from the past were dealt with by the gentle hand of a dominant alpha. Makes me smile thinking about this story now twice read.
10-CODE: Marya and Jasper showed up in previous books in this series and both are worthy of one another. This time the criminal activity has to do with pedophilia and the story is a bit dark. Both characters have much in common and are perfect for one another. I loved reading this boxed set and will no doubt read it again. I loved the characters and also the way the stories were told about them and the situations they were able to come out of on the other side of whole, healthy, and in the arms of their perfect mate.

He does not have much choice because with pressure both in- and outside the club mounting, he no longer knows who to trust. Except perhaps the pretty agent who is shaking up his life—and stirring his blood. ***
10-CODE Single mom, Marya Berger does not want to be attracted to Special Agent Dylan Barnes. Not only is he several years her junior, but he is also the father of one of the boys on her son’s soccer team. But when the disappearance of a child hits a little too close to home, she finds herself responding to the agent’s need to protect her and her boys.

The bafflement when i clicked though to the source to find out JFSP stands for John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme. Isn't that a radio 4 sketch show?? did it massively change genre or??
Oh!!! Yes kindof?
Season 9 was recorded during the lockdowns when they couldn't film in front of a live studio audience, so John finnemore took the opportunity to change it a little for the season. Instead of individual unrelated sketches, the 9th season is 6 episodes of snapshots of different times in peoples' lives, slowly collecting together as you realise they're all related and it's showing 7 generations of the same family and telling a family history.
It's still funny, it has a lot of little in-jokes and call-backs, a lot of the episodes still have a song and a fair few of them end with 'well since you asked me...' but it is, in essence, a Very Different Show. Less sketch show more comedy drama.
We don't know if/when they'll be a season 10 as John is very busy with Good Omens at the moment, but if there is I suspect it'll revert back to form.
