Summary: Dating a member of the Thunder Legion was fun but when he can be clueless feelings get jumbled

Paring: Freed Justine x gn! Reader

A/N: Thanks for requesting. So, I personally don’t think Freed would be the type to tease or try to fluster his S/O, so I tried to flip it with S/O doing the teasing but then it turned into a jealous S/O to comfort fic with like one teasing comment. Dating a member of the Thunder Legion can be stressful, after all they tend to go on some of the most dangerous missions, but the most annoying part is when said member you are dating follows Laxus around like a lost puppy half the time. Yes, I’m dating Freed and as much as I love the rune mage, it can be annoying watching him give so much attention to someone else. Don’t get me wrong I think it’s kind of funny, but I can’t help but to feel a little jealous. I try not to show it though, I like to hide it by teasing him about it. After a couple comments from me he usually realizes what's happening and stops, but recently he hasn’t been picking up on it as quickly.

That is exactly what is happening right now, I’m sitting with the Thunder Legion in the guild hall. I would like to just be able to spend time with my boyfriend while he’s not on a job but no he has to be following Laxus around. I could feel Evergreen’s eyes on me as I watched Freed talk to Laxus about who knows what.

“Can I help you Evergreen?” I asked, taking my gaze off the green haired mage.

She just rolled her eyes at me before responding. “You know if it bugs you so much that he’s close to Laxus you should just get over yourself and tell him, If you don’t out right tell him, he won’t change”

I nodded along with what she was saying. She was right in a way, as smart as Freed is he can be clueless sometimes, especially with people and feelings. “You’re right, but I don’t want him to change, I think it’s sweet that he cares so much about Laxus. I just wish he would spend more time with just me, it’s like I only see him when you guys get back from jobs and even then we are always around you guys. It’s never just the two of us.”

“Just tell him that, stop making dumb jokes to him about it when you get jealous, eventually he’s not gonna realize that it bothers you. Ever’s right tell him to his face that you’re upset.” Bickslow said, joining the conversation, with an echo coming from his babies of “tell him, yeah tell him”

I swatted away one of the floating dolls rolling my eyes at the two. “I know that I just don’t want to make him feel bad. I don’t want him to feel like I’m upset about it.” I tried to explain why I hadn't said anything yet.

“Make who feel bad about what? Did something happen, do I need to use Dark Écriture on someone?” Freed asked as he and Laxus made their way back to our group after getting drinks from the bar for all of us. I was glad he had missed the rest of our conversation, I really don’t want him to feel bad about it.

I smiled up at him as he sat next to me, greeting me with a quick peek on the lips. “Oh it’s nothing Natsu was just -” “Y/n wants to talk to you privately about something.” Evergreen stopped me from finishing my lie, forcing Freed to look at her in concern before looking back at me.

“ Well let's go for a walk then, and you can tell me whatever it is you need too.” Freed said, standing back up and pulling me up with him. I nodded in agreement as I followed him out of the guild hall hearing chuckles from our friends as I presumed, the two aware the situation filled Laxus in as we left.

Once we were far enough from the guild hall that Freed felt confident that none of our guild members would hear our conversation. He stopped us and turned to me. “What's wrong Y/n? Is it really about something Natsu did or is there something else going on?”

I turned my head away thinking of how to bring everything up without making him feel bad. “Natsu didn’t do anything. I was just nervous to tell you the truth. Now I don’t want you to feel bad about it so you have to promise that you won’t blame yourself.” I said, finally turning back to face him.

“You’re not breaking up with me are you?” he asked with a frown forming on his face.

“Oh god no, I could never do that, I love you too much to do that. It’s just I feel like you don’t want to spend time with me anymore." I said, trying to calm his heart. “I know you are busy taking jobs and stuff with the Thunder Legion and all, but whenever you get back you only seem to want to spend time with them and there’s no time for just you and me. I love that you care for our friends but it would be nice if every once in a while we spent time with just the two of us, when we are both home from jobs.” Finally getting this off my chest felt great, but I was still scared to see his reaction.

It was silent for a minute as I watched him process what I had said, and it was almost like he was replaying the last few times we all happened to be back from the near constant stream of jobs.

“I love you too, and you’re right we haven’t been spending a lot of time just the two of us. I’m sorry for that, to make up for you, we are both going to take a week off from taking jobs and just relax together. I truly am sorry for making you feel like I didn’t want to hang out with just you. I honestly thought you wanted to hang out with everyone and didn’t even think to ask if you felt different. I promise to try harder at asking about your feelings and to make time for just you.” Freed said resting his hand on my cheek, smiling gently at me.

I leaned into his warm touch smiling at him as I took in his apology. “Thank you, I truly appreciate it, but it’s partly on me as well. I should have said something more. But, I can’t wait to take a week off, I'm tired of listening to you fawn over Lauxs all the time.” I said with chuckle breaking the soft moment we were having to poke fun at the green haired mage.

He pulled his hand away rolling his eyes, “I do not fawn over Laxus, I just care about my friends. But whatever, let's just go back to your apartment and rest. We both need it.” He said defending himself before grabbing my hand and walking in the direction of my apartment. “We can tell makarov that we are taking a break in the morning.”

And with that we were off to enjoy some time alone, just the two of us. Sure when we get back we’ll probably deal with some teasing and stupid jokes from the rest of the guild but I’ll deal with it if I get to relax with my favorite mage.

- Natsu is a similar but because igneel was a guy Natsu wanted to be to, and he wants to be just like his dad

- I feel like Fried (Freed? It's been like 4 years since the fairy tail hyperfixation) is bigender

- speaking of laxus' crew the knight guy with the souls. Agender. His name escapes me.

- gray is transmasc I make the rules. He and Lyon are both transmasc. They saw each other on galuna Island and mutually understood each other through their twisted siblingesque relationship that they were both men now but they all had bigger problems to content with

- I could see laxus as transfem. But so deeply in the closet it would be physically impossible for him to leave or externalize it. Because it's laxus

Hey, requesting a ramble; given the chance what singular thing would you change about Fairy Tale as a show?

What would you change about the fandom?

Blessed with the ability to ramble I'm gonna answer these out of order because one I want to actually go off about and the other I'm trying so hard not to be too negative with.

The fandom itself, I'm surprised to find, is still alive. Mostly for the manga, 100 Year Quest, and the Gajeel spin off apparently. Super cool love that for y'all.

But I think the general Fairy Tail fandom is very... Boring?

I don't want to be mean! Everyone has the right to enjoy fandom however they want of course! This is an attack on no one! Live your life! I love and respect you so much!!

Just like. 90% of the active fandom are infatuated with Natsu/Lucy exclusively, which I don't get at all. Coming from My Hero Academia, I saw how big the cast of this program was and really expected everyone to have their little Blorbo guy with their own niche content. Blurry screen caps and low quality images with "There he is the scrimblo!!" kind of nonsense.

Instead the entire place only cares about the Main Guys Smooching. There's no crack ships, there's no Tono Rabbits Stan accounts, there's no Some Gremlin Blorbo from my shows background character lovers and it's Really jarring?? And boring. Y'all boring.

If I could change anything about the fandom, I'd ask y'all to pick A Guy (gender neutral) and go rabid for them. There's so many guys of so many types in this program. Please fawn over someone other than the main 7.

Okay I'm worried about this post being annoying and too long so what I'd change about the show itself is going under a Read More

Really I want to change a LOT about the program itself. The execution, the treatment of most female characters, everything with Lisanna, the lore behind Magic, the Morals behind Magic. There's a lot to unpack here.

But if I absolutely had to pick one thing to change it's be the character's ages.

I found out recently that Mirajane is 19 in canon. Cana is 18. The oldest woman in the Guild before the 7 year time skip was Evergreen at 20. TWENTY. That's how old Bisca is when she gives birth to Asuka!! (roughly. Asuka doesn't have a canon age but she's somewhere between 5-6 based on how she acts)

I'm twirling this show's timeline on a fork like Spaghetti these girls are going to be 20+ and you're going to like it.

Here's my rough concept so far (this is for the beginning of the series, the wiki list their ending ages, after the two different 1 year time skips and the 7 year stasis)

I want to make Natsu the oldest of the dragon raised dragon slayers, but still roughly the same age as Grey. I'm thinking 23 or 24 for the both of them, with Gajeel close behind at 22, and Laxus just ahead at 25 or 26.

Lucy I want to be the youngest current member, so she can stay at 17-18, but I also want Erza to be young compared to the Raised By The Guild squad, so she's 19, maybe? Levy's 20-21, Cana's 23, and Juvia is 19-20, like Erza.

Mira gets the most change because I just think she should be pushing 30, maybe 27 or 28. Elfman about 3 or 4 years younger at 24 or 25, to keep him Grey/Natsu aged. Lisanna has about the same age gap, 3 or 4 years, making her somewhere between 20 and 22.

I really jangled up the Thunder Legion because apparently Bickslow is the oldest at 22 in canon. He's still 22 in this version but now he's the Thunder Baby. I wanted to keep Freed around the same age as Laxus, so 25, and Evergreen the same age as Mira, maybe a tad younger at 26-27. I like the idea of Bickslow being the youngest anyway, he's big but young and it fits with his personality. I'm tempted to make him 18, but your 20's are age of being dumb anyway so it's fine.

Macao and Wakaba are in their mid 30's at the beginning of the series, Reedus in his early 30's on par with Mira maybe older, with Warren, Max, and Mest all near mid 20's I think. I don't have exact numbers for them because I don't really know if they're meant to be Natsu's peers or not, but they all seem pretty young and stupid. Jet and Droy are the same-ish age as Levy, 20-22, with Jet being a year younger than them.

Wendy's hard because apparently she's 12 when we meet her, but she doesn't change at all in the next 2 years, which simply isn't how being on the cusp of puberty works. But I don't have as much wiggle room as I do with everyone else sense she's at the stage where she should be growing a lot so I'll just keep her 12-13.

Unrelated but Sting and Rouge being the same age as Wendy is the reason I hate the 7 year stasis thing. We deserve more age diversity in dragon slayers, I say. They can't all be a brisk 18, that's boring. Also how old is Erik??? Genuine question I cannot get a read on him.

The exceeds are also hard but it bothers me that supposedly they all hatched at the same time when they were supposed to be an entire lost generation (which for humans is about 20 years, cats about 2 years). Unfortunately I don't have a scale for how long they are expected to live, what their incubation period is like, how long their infancy to adulthood is, if Happy and Carla are even considered child bearing aged adults in their society at their canon age of 6, etc.

Still I think there should be a few years or so between them, so in order oldest to youngest of Earthland born Exceeds it's goes; Carla, Samuel, Lector, Happy, and Frosch. Also I wanna add right here unrelated to anything, Nadi is my second favorite Exceed, right behind Samuel. I love them.

I realize this causes a collection of problems with how the timeline reads, but considering the constant usage of 7 years never really came up in a meaningful way I am more than happy to tear that consistency apart.

Freed hadn't expected anything less from his team mates and close friends. They were like a little bickering family of their own sometimes and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Lips curved into the faintest of smiles and while it was as small as it was, the softness of it reached his eyes. "You might have seen him around town, or seen me speak to him on occasion. He has long blue hair and typically wears an eye patch. His style of dress is quite striking as well ," he began to explain. Of course these two had to receive details now, those were quite unique ones, and he'd had the hint that Ever knew something already anyway. They also knew that he was attracted to not only one gender, so that he ended up dating a man shouldn't make for an all too big astonishment - one might say his sword swings all ways. The time spent with Kaeya had really left its clear imprints on his mind already, hadn't it? "His name is Kaeya and he would be pleased to meet you both." And he was breathtakingly pretty without a single doubt. Handsome charm. Intellect. Very good company, someone he'd come to feel so utterly comfortable around.

After all he'd left imprints not only on his mind and body, but his heart as well.

Evergreen had an inkling already, of course, she was an incredibly intuitive young woman. She'd lift her fan to her face and wave it a few times, simply because she COULD not because it was needed. She'd seen the signs that her friend was in an... agreement if not a relationship of sorts a while back. She'd opted to leave things as they were rather than pry. Out of respect for Freed, of course, and not for ANY other reason whatsoever.

"Oh, the bartender at the bar nearby? I've seen him around a few times though I've never spoken to him, personally."

She'd certainly heard him being spoken ABOUT though she never pried. As much as she enjoyed the good gossip some days she was far too busy tp give in to taking part.

Bickslow wasn't surprised at all that Freed was dating another man. He had a feeling their entire group wasn't exactly simply, straight. Maybe rainbows or circles more so than straight. Some of them acted more straight than others, for sure. Then there were the chaos gremlins, such as himself, who just liked to be menaces whenever they could.

"I'm not surprised, honestly. He sounds like a good match. Just from what you've told us about him."

He was being honest. He was happy his best friend was happy. The fact that he was with another man didn't phase him in the least. Kaeya, huh? What an interesting sounding name.

Can we have more Bickslow headcannons? And maybe Evergreen, Freed, and Lexus too?

Fuck yeah you can! I’m gonna start with a lot of angst and then move into their dynamics as a team. (this got REALLY long but I’m not sorry)

-I gave you all my HC for Freed’s backstory in my last post and mentioned that Freed is the reason that Bickslow and Evergreen joined the guild, so have both their backstories too!

-Bickslow grew up in a travelling circus with several other child performers. It wasn’t exactly a nice environment. There were lots of issues and safety hazards and abuse going on behind the scenes, but they were forced to keep smiling and performing through it all.

-Bickslow was especially targeted by the ringmaster because of his magic allowing him to look into people’s souls. The ringmaster is the one who forced him to wear a helmet when he wasn’t using his ability on the crowd for money.

-Because of that, he only had five friends back then, all children younger than he was, who looked up to him both for his tricks and the fact that no matter how upset he was, he had a smile for them.

-one day the tent caught fire during a practice. Bickslow was the only one to make it out alive.

-but considering all the traumatic events they went through, most of the children kept there weren’t able to move on, and their spirits lingered in the area... Except for the five kids who were most fond of Bickslow. They stayed near him and talked to him all the time, especially once they realized he could see them. You still have a soul as a spirit after all.

-the town he was in began to think he was crazy because he was “talking to the air” all the time, and they would continuously call child services to try and take him to an orphanage. The five spirits however, would warn him before they could, and Bickslow used his years of acrobatics skills to stay away from anyone who tried to move him away from where the circus burned down. It may have been a place of trauma, but there were good memories too, and it’s all he had.

-So the town tried one last gamble. Who better to adopt a child with mysterious magic that Fairy Tail?

-And Makarov, in an attempt to get Laxus to be more social, decided to send him and Freed.

-It went about as well as you’d expect. Laxus tried to fight him while Freed did research on the area and what happened to him.

-Laxus didn’t have as much control over his magic as he thought he did at that age, and Bickslow was kicking his ass before Freed showed up and trapped him so they could talk.

-Freed shared his story with him and offered the same thing Laxus once offered him: a home.

-Bickslow cracked soon after that, and told them everything after Freed started asking questions about the town thinking he’s crazy while they were on the train back to magnolia.

-While many members of Fairy Tail were unnerved by him, those around their age did their best to make him feel at home. Natsu listened to all his stories about the circus and about the five ghosts who followed him, and Bickslow listened to his stories about the dragons.

-Freed used this time to research Seith magic extensively, and he eventually came across the idea of putting the souls into objects. He and Bickslow worked for weeks to figure out how to do it, and the five spirits became his five main “dolls.”

-He of course, asked them if they were okay with being alongside him before putting them inside the tiki dolls, and if he cried when they said there was nowhere else they’d rather be? Well Freed and Laxus weren’t going to tell anyone about it.

-Evergreen was both harder and easier to get back to Fairy Tail.

-Like Freed, She was once a part of the noble class, but under a name she never wants to use again.

-When she gained her eye magic, she accidentally turned her mother to stone, and it was all downhill from there. Her father tried to keep her locked in a room, and it worked for a long time.

-Eventually though, she had decided she’d had enough, and snuck out and ran as far away as she could. She kept a ribbon tied around her eyes any time she had to go into town, and learned how to walk while completely blind. This did some damage to her eyesight after several years of doing it.

-it felt like it was too good to be true. She was free and she did odd little jobs in a town far from her original home to earn money for food. it was all she needed..... Until a child tore the ribbon from her face.

-the second she made eye contact, the little boy turned to stone. There was nothing she could do about it except cover her face up again and run.

-her father, however, had notified several guilds about her disappearance and claimed she was dangerous if left alone, so when stories spread about a homeless child turning a boy to stone, it became their first lead in months.

-there was a lull in fighting missions at the time, and something about her magic intrigued Freed. It was an eye magic like his and Bickslow’s first magics, and they aren’t exactly common. Freed, Laxus, and Bickslow took it upon themselves to take the mission to bring her home.

-She very quickly figured out how to hide herself in the woods and away from people. Freed had to trap the entire area and make it so that eye magics don’t work within his barriers before they could even get close to her. It took almost a month.

-And much to their surprise, she was nothing like what they were expecting. After all, they were supposed to be hunting down a nobleman’s son, not a daughter.

-Bickslow almost immediately asks her about why she ran away, and Ever looks up at him- then panics as she slams her eyes shut- but he doesn’t turn to stone because of Freed’s runes, and he explains as such.

-They have a long conversation about why she ran away, and she tells them everything her father did to her, from being locked in her room to being terrified to tell him she’s his daughter and not his son because of his anger issues.

-They realize then and there they can’t give her back to him, and Freed comes up with the plan to tell him that they didn’t find his son, but rather a random girl with a similar magic, and she can join Fairy Tail instead of staying on the run.

-The only reason she doesn’t agree immediatly is because of her eye magic. She couldn’t control it, and the idea of turning someone to stone again scared her.

-Freed sent Laxus to buy a pair of glasses without a prescription and a nice dress for her to wear, and he etches runes into the glasses to block her eye magic when they’re on.

-She’s sold from that moment on, and the raijinshuu’s friendship is sealed with that secret.

-Laxus helps her chose her name before they get onto the train, and they solidify the story before then too

-Makarov Accepts the story without question, even though they have a sneaking suspicion he knows.

-They become a tight knit group in no time.

-Then they learn about Ivan and all he did to Laxus, and they start to jokingly refer to themselves as the Laxus protection squad. It’s a lot less of a joke when Ivan’s actually around though, and the guild definitely notices. Makarov even starts to officially call them that in some reports.

-No one remembers who suggested the name “raijinshuu,” but they all privately agree it’s dumb. Especially since it insinuates that Laxus is the team leader. Freed’s the captain of their team for a reason.

-Dispite the fact that Bickslow is the tallest of them, both Laxus and Freed are both physically stronger than him. That’s not to say he isn’t strong, but Laxus can carry freakish amounts of weight due to his slayer biology, and Freed does the same due to his demon biology.

-Freed can carry all of them at once. No one knows how.

-Freed puts new runes on Ever’s glasses every time she gets new frames or a new prescription. He knows she doesn’t need it anymore, but she’s always grateful for the option.

-if they share a bed, Freed and Ever cannot sleep next to each other. Their hair tangles together and they’ve only had to make that mistake once.

-Ever and Bickslow are not under any circumstances allowed to cook, Freed can make fancy meals, and Laxus makes homemade stuff that would make your mouth water. He also stress bakes in secret at four am.

-That’s how they always know he’s stressed when he doesn’t tell them. It’s kind of hard to miss 6 batches of cookies that spontaneously appeared overnight

-Freed has an unsharpened rapier that feels like getting hit with a slap bracelet at full speed. Naturally, this is the sword he chases Bickslow with when he pisses him off.

-Laxus likes to pretend he’s one of the smartest members of the guild, but the raijinshuu knows he’s actually kind of a himbo.

-Bickslow is really close friends with Loke, and when he noticed the man was dying slowly, the others comforted him despite not knowing what was going on.

-Bickslow often helps ghosts pass on from the mortal plane.

-Evergreen keeps up with all the latest fashion, but she still considers Freed to be more fashionable. Because of this she always double checks her outfits with him.

-Evergreen’s always the first to sass someone when they’re being rude to her team. It’s earned her her reputation as a “bitch” but she’s far too proud of it to be offended.

-One Laxus was open about his dragon slayer magic, they pushed him to talk to the other slayers to learn about himself and his magic. Freed and Bickslow pushed the hardest though, since they’re friends with Natsu and knew that he would be all too willing to drag Laxus into his little family of dragon slayers.

-Laxus was much happier oncce he accepted that he was more dragon that human anyways, and the more he learned, the happier he was.

-In case it wasn’t clear: mtf Trans!Ever (she/her exclusively), he/they Freed, and wtf is gender, is it a food?” Laxus and Bickslow (any pronouns).

He loves hugging his partner from behind and resting his head on theirs or on their shoulder.

And hugging them from the side if they're standing next to each other.

And holding hands while walking.

You can expect a lot of pda, really. It's not like he's on top of you 24/7, but he's not physically distant either. It's more like... You both have your space, but sometimes that space includes each other.

He does that with friends too, though, so you can expect him to koala hug you way before you start dating.

Sometimes he even koala hugs the rest of the raijinshuu and Laxus. It's a mix of hilarious and adorable.

His babies sometimes float to your lap as well.

Any relationship with Bickslow is based on trust and honesty. He can see souls so he'll know if you're upset for example, but will give you all the time and space you need. If you don't talk about it with him, you'll have reasons, and he respects that. The only reason he may confront you about your feelings if it seems like an emergency.

On the same note, he is emotionally wiser than he is given credit for, and although he may joke around a bit, he's certainly a good person to go to for advice or comfort.

Being around him means you'll never get bored. He makes you laugh all the time and having fun together is an everyday occurrence.

Cooking with him is really relaxing... Unless you are the type that hates when people steal food before the meal is ready.

Ok, so let’s say that your parents died when you were little, so Bickslow had to care for you and raise you.

You became a member of Fairy Tail at a young age, and they also helped raise you because, let’s face it, Bickslow has no idea what he’s doing.

He tries his best, though, and eventually gets it down pat!

Diaper changes? He plugs his nose and gets it done.

Late-night crying? He has a whole bookshelf of books on magic to read to you and help you get to sleep.

But when your teenage years roll around, he’s back to square one. He has no clue what to do.

You are a really quiet teen and keep to yourself. Quite the opposite of him.

He tries to draw you out of your shell but you really just put up with it until he leaves you alone and then goes back to your normal personality.

You surprisingly get along with Laxus though! After he becomes kinder after his fight with Natsu, the two of you become fast friends and Bickslow is stunned and confused.

So one day, he goes to Laxus’s house one day and asks for his help.

Admittedly, Laxus isn’t much help.

“Just get to know them. It’s not that hard. If you know what to talk about, they can talk for hours.”

He leaves Laxus’s house with little to know ideas on how to get you to open up.

He finds out how, on accident one day.

He’s practicing his magic behind the Guild’s building when you are pushed out of the shadows by Laxus.

He waves as he leaves Bickslow with you.

Bickslow is shocked, had you been watching him? Where had you learned shadow magic?

He asks you those questions and you cringe, mumbling an answer that he can’t quite hear.

“What??” He asks and you fumble with your fingers, not looking at him.

“I taught myself.” You say and he is floored.

You must’ve been a genius! Shadow magic is no joke and difficult to learn.

He tells you as much and watches as you get embarrassed, rubbing your nose and looking off to the side.

The two of you end up sitting on a bench and talk about magic for hours.

He finds out that him reading to you about magic from a young age fostered your love for magic and you taught yourself all kinds of magic.

Shadow magic, fire magic (don’t tell Natsu), gravity magic, you’re in the process of learning lightning and celestial magic. You’re crazy powerful and he just never knew!

He vows to get to know you more and bond with you just like your parents would’ve wanted.

Sexuality Headcanon: Lisanna I can see as either Biromantic Ace or Ace Lesbian. Or you can just say Bi and Lesbian and that would be cool too. Gender Headcanon: I can see Lisanna as Cis or Trans Woman and I am happy with either one. (I wish I had more to say on these like the other two, but i think I over hyped myself.) And it just felt weird to me to have all the Strauss siblings getting with the entire Thunder Legion like they're making some weird collection of white haired, take over mages. A random headcanon: She snores. Not loud, like a freight train snoring. But not cute little squeaks either. Almost like she has sleep apnea. It just hits her at random and sounds like a little snort, or like she stopped breathing for a few seconds. Then she rolls over and it stops. (don't ask me why I hc this. I do not know. it popped into my head one day and never left.) General Opinion over said character: I like her. But I also felt she was massively underutilized and pretty much just ignored after Edolas arc. Like, why bring her back if you're not going to USE her? There could have been so many moments of her making new friends or joining adventures with other people and just being bad ass, but it NEVER HAPPENED! And also took away from the lesson of learning to grieve over losing a loved one. It's complicated. I like her alive and I love her character. I just wish Mashima had done more with her.

are there any other preferences or exclusions when it comes to the characters or readers you will write besides the ones your already mentioned in your rules? like your preferred characters for fairy tail, characters you will not write, certain genders of reader you will or will not write for, do you lean more towards dom or sub etc?

I haven't written FT (and curse my phone for autocorrecting this constantly) yet, but I tend to favor writing Reader x PickYourVillain for just about everything. I enjoy some yandere themes and the bit of spice that comes with twisty, broken personalities.

Like Bickslow. He is hands down my favorite twisty in FT because of what yandere-y things can be accomplished with those crazy eyes of his.

In terms of specific ones I won't touch - I won't do Gajeel. He and Levy are just too perfect in my eyes. I also probably won't touch Natsu because he's a fire breathing toddler, and I doubt I could write him seriously unless I were in a mood. Elfman is another one I probably couldn't get into because that "manly" thing was just so grossly overdone in my opinion that I can't take him seriously either. Happy, chipper characters kinda bore me when they aren't paired with offsetting snark. (There are always exceptions, though, so seriously don't be shy about messaging me if you have something in mind). Like Tobi, I will almost always write him with Deidara because their dynamic amuses me.

I tend to stick to my own experience when it comes to what I write because honestly, it's easier to describe something when you know what it feels like. For example, I am unlikely to write male readers because I don't have a dick (though who hasn't wondered what they'd do for a day if they did?). I will write non-smut with gender neutral readers, though.

Touching on experience again, I favor writing sub readers because, again, that's what I have the most experience with. Same goes for the kinks featured on this blog. D/s dynamics, ropes, restraints, blindfolds, pain play, spankings, spicy brat taming, electricity - you get the idea. I like writing about that sort of thing because I know what it feels like, so I feel I can paint a better picture for the readers as a result.

You may catch me in a switchy mood depending on what the ask is.

As for fem character + fem!Reader matchups, that's another one where I kind of need to feel the right vibes in order to make it work. Erza, Cana, and Virgo for example - I could see those working easily. That's just one of those things where you're best off just throwing an ask at my inbox and seeing if it sticks. I'll stew on things for a while if I'm unsure before giving a definite no.

As I have mentioned before in other asks and in the rules, the big exclusion for readers is body types for asks and requests. It's a pain point for me, so you will only ever see reference to weight/breast size or lackfhereof/etc in writings that I've done for myself, that I honestly will probably not post here because it's exclusionary and/or triggering for so many people. I want it to stay vague so that as many people as possible can feel like they can step into their chosen universe.

The only exception to the above is the tiny/tall matchup trope. I'm a sucker for short readers, but I feel with the ones I tend to match them with for this, literally anyone would still feel short in comparison (I'm looking at you, Sharkman).

I might not even think of certain things to exclude until they come up. Never feel shy about directly messaging me or sending me an ask if you aren't sure about something. I'm sure there are things I missed that just never crossed my mind because I don't spend time thinking about it. In those cases, I'll still respond to the ask with an explanation as to why I can't do the thing said anon is asking for and add it to the list of nopes.

I hope this answers your question without adding more confusion. I'm just now seeing that I kinda wrote you a book. I have a history of getting carried away, in case you all hadn't noticed yet.
