Sirenia Sphyrnidae, better known as the Hammerhead Maid, is one of the apex predators found within the Sirenia class. Yet despite this, their interaction with man is quite limited. Unlike many other mermaid species that can be found in coastal seas the Hammerhead maid has no interest in interacting with humans. You will not find this species luring sailors, quite the opposite actually. Living mostly solitary lives the Hammerhead Maid is quite content not interacting with species outside their own. Having taken an extreme approach to their camouflage many times humans might not even be able to distinguish between actual shark and maid. 

While humans are relatively safe around this apex predator other marine life, including smaller mermaid species, better steer clear. Using their serrated “toothed” arms, coined “mandible arms” they can quickly strike and cutch fast moving prey. 

As with many Mermaid species, males and females are nearly identical. The only obvious dimorphism found are on males who possess “claspers” used in mating.

Have been desperately trying to scratch and claw my way out of my creative block so drew this for @fairytail-redraw month. It probably would have looked a little better if I’d inked it in but my chronic health problems are kicking my ass so. Didn’t change all that much about the prompt itself, I’ll probably come back to this at a later date but I’m other wise proud of myself for it after weeks of not being able to draw or write anything.

#Fakemon #Specifically Nokemon #I didn't watch the Drawfee video but I did immediately swipe the link lol #I also just rerolled until I found some that I thought would be fun to draw #And they were in fact fun to doodle! Excellent news #The last one is clearly my favourite lol but I do like all of them #I get bug vibes from the first one way more than the second one - probably the big eyes #But I didn't really like any of the water/fire dual types #I got so many! And most of them were nonsensical tbh #I can't think of any bugs that look like fish hmmm #I mostly like him because of the goofy mouth haha ♪ #That Fairy/Dragon was actually way funner to draw than I would've expected! #I was skeptical since it really seems like a bunch of disparate elements but it's actually surprisingly cohesive when drawing?? #It was really the wings that won me over tho lol they look like closed little dragon wings - but small enough to be like fairy wings #I like that as a translation of both types #It also kinda has gorilla proportions but a reptilian(?) head! Very strange little lad #And then the last one is just perfect ♥ #My first thought was Slowpoke - like maybe a fairy version? #I also wasn't sure if the little puff over the bottom of the face should be /part/ of the face or should be like a high collar? #I'm also so in love with the pink curls lol ♪ They're not exactly that but that's the only way my brain is willing to interpret them lol #Such a cute little lad

A young knight finds a pair of infant dragons in the cave where he was sent to fight a monster, and his heart is as soft and foolish as the wizard that he escorted, so the young knight does not slay the dragons but adopts them. A touch of magic makes the dragons look as human as the knight. The powerful wizard asks the young knight what he plans to do, and the knight answers that he plans to raise the dragons and train them as his squires and one day knight the pair as he himself had been knighted. 

A powerful magic, the wizard warns, for this noble choice, but the magic will break if the dragons see in their reflection that they are not knights but dragons. The wizard’s spells will hold on every mirror and shiny metal surface, but not forever. The knight thanks the wizard, carries a toddler in each arm, and leaves the cave. 

He visits a witch to ask for advice on how to raise sons, his shining armor dusty from the road and the dirty handprints of boys. The young knight is afraid of fatherhood. He is also afraid of dragons, but only adults. And these are two boys that pet the witch’s cat and feed the witch’s goat and do not ever breathe a lick of fire, not even a puff of smoke. The witch gives him stern advice and a stiff drink and a spell so that no body of water will show the true reflection of the dragon boys - but the spell will not hold forever, the witch warns, for lakes and rivers are one thing, but puddles of rainwater come and go too fast for magic to catch. 

The knight laughs and says perhaps he should raise his boys in a desert, so there are no reflections to break the spells. A good idea, agrees the witch, rescuing her cat from a pair of curious fingers. 

The young knight takes the boys out into the desert where they visit hermits and protect travelers from bandits and fight monsters in the dunes and gullies of dried river beds. Years pass, and the knight grows a beard but not a long one like the wizard and raises goats but not magical ones like the witch. The two boys learn the skills of lance and sword and chivalric vows, and the knight gifts the pair with their own suits of armor. He calls them better squires than he had been to the old knight that trained him. No scales reflect back on the plates of armor, but beneath the spells and years the two boys are still dragons.

The older boy wants to journey as a knight errant, to do heroic deeds on his own, and with the reluctance of watching a fledging leave the nest the older knight lets him go. There is rumor of a fair maiden in need of rescue, and the knight agrees that rescuing damsels, princesses or otherwise, is a proper calling for a knight. The young knight rescues the maiden from a giant, and she takes him to her oasis to heal and thank him, giving him her token to wrap around his arm. A nymph, not a princess - but the two young lovers are too enthralled with each other, staring at each other’s faces to compose courtly love poems, for the knight to notice anything strange about his reflection in the oasis’s well. 

The bearded knight is relieved when his first son returns. Less pleased about the vows of love, but a water nymph will make a decent daughter-in-law, especially in a desert. He pulls her aside as the young knight errant goes to tell his younger brother the news. He asks the nymph if she knows that her love was born a dragon. A curious question, she admits, and more telling in how it is framed. Does the young man remember that he was once a dragon, when his only goal is to be a knight, and when his own father forgets that he was born with scales? She sees a man when their eyes meet. As the old knight only sees men when he proudly looks upon his brave squires.

The only one that sees a dragon is when one brother looks at his kin.

Winx Club Head canons: Workout Edition.

As you guessed by the title, I am going to give my head canons on what the Winx Club characters I will start with the girls first, and I will put them in order of how they are introduced. The head canons are inspired by my Boyfriend’s @thewickedmerman​ redesigns, and each girls' personalities and their powers. The inspiration for the head canons also come from The Owl House and the movie Tarzan. 

Flora Magical Flowers: Fairy of Nature

I always feel like Flora gets nerfed or knocked out in the first few minutes of a fight. As a nature fairy I feel as though she has the potential to be one of the most powerful fighters. Her workouts would look very similar to Willow Park’s from The Owl House, she would do battle ropes, jump rope, and rope climbing and weightlifting.

Most of us think of Flora as dainty, very girly and wouldn’t be very strong. However I love the idea of there being this whole other side to Flora who could punch through a brick wall if she needed too.

Tecna Digital Powers. Fairy of Technology

Because I don’t really see Tecna being hardcore because I picture her being the surveillance for the team similar to what Barbara Gordon does as Oracle and what Wade does in Kim Possible. However, as a Winx Member who has to fight a lot I think her workouts would consist of weight training, slight cardio and I also think she would take a lot of self-defense lessons. 

Musa Rhythm and Tunes: Fairy of Music. 

As the Fairy of Music, it only makes sense that Musa is a dancer. She does ballet, hip hop and some tap. She is also great at martial arts. I know it seems stereotypical of me to put the one Asian Character in Martial Arts however a lot of moves in Martial Arts are similar to ballet. She would do a lot of cardio in her workouts and strength training and she would be a skater both ice and roller skating/blading.

Stella The Sun & The Moon: Fairy of the Sun and Moon.

Her workouts would consist of Hot Yoga, regular Yoga, Spin Classes, swimming  Pilates, and some cardio. These workouts just seem the most appropriate for Stella. She is one of those people who wants to feel as good as they look. She focuses mainly on weight training because of the fact weight training can help sculpt the body similar to how artists chisel away at a statue. 

Aisha Magic Shapes and Shifting Tides Fairy of Fluids or Waves.

As a Water Fairy and due to her being the most Athletic Aisha’s workouts would consist of swimming, water skiing surfing, skating of all kinds but mainly ice skating. Aisha as shown in the actual show is the most athletic of the girls. With her morphix she could make a lot of makeshift workout gear and this is proven in the show where she made gym equipment out of her Morphix powers. I also believe this is why she is the best fighter in the show. She is a take action kind of gal. I also see her doing a lot of water aerobics.  

Bloom Fairy of the Dragon Flame: And a Fire Burning Deep Inside.

Due to her being from Earth, and the fact she rides a bike, her workouts consist of mountain biking, rock climbing, going for runs and I can even picture her joining a CrossFit gym. I also think Bloom would be into Hot Yoga and regular Yoga
