FAQs!

I go by Ice, she/her pronouns 💕. In case you had any of these questions, here you go:

1. "Why'd you make this page?"

I want to make the creation space- fandom to professional- more inclusive for people that look like me.

It is very disheartening when you really like something, and you see that oh! It's going to include a Black character! And then you get that character and... They're subpar. Especially in comparison to the usually white characters that have so much thought put into them. You accept them because you REALLY want that rep, but... We deserve to wholeheartedly accept our characters too, no ehhs about it.

I wanted to challenge myself, using my amateur art skills and my teaching skills, to convey to creators how that makes us feel, and little things they can do to more intentionally create their Black characters. There's more to us than adding to a diversity quota.

2. "So you aren't even a professional?"

I got 27.5 years of being a Black person on my resume 🤣 jokes aside, I am a self teaching artist. It's only been about a year for me. My more specific goal here is to use my skills to convey a perspective change towards Blackness, not necessarily a "how to do". If you want to learn the specific how-to's of drawing Black characters, there are Black artists all over Tumblr and the web that can show you. I actively encourage you to go check them out and support them, it's a great way to learn as well as to support our community!

3. "But if you're not a professional, why should I trust you?"

Well, again, because I don't have to be a professional to recognize when supposedly Black characters... Don't look like me 😅. Or, in writing, don't have any thought about me behind them. I could show my 87 year old Grandma some art and she'd recognize the issues.

But also, I personally believe that if you start from the foundations thinking about intentionally creating your Black characters, it'll make it much easier for you moving into the future. I am holding my hand out as a Black peer to HELP YOU! There are professional video games and art pieces and projects out there with poorly designed Black characters. The concept clearly needs to be introduced to the people somewhere before a million dollar project is release 🤣 But I can't talk to the people at the AAA studios. I can talk to you!

4. "I don't think race matters/should matter."

Alas, it does, everything we do is affected by our beliefs unconsciously or not- but I'm not going to waste my time and argue with you. This blog isn't for you 🤷🏾‍♀️ this blog is for those who want to take that first step to be better, both as creators and as people. 👍🏾

5. "Do you support AI?"

Not in the arts. Learn how to draw and/or write, it's very fulfilling.

6. "Do you answer asks?"

I do! However, this is a lesson based page, more than an ask based page. If I think your ask can be answered by one of my lessons, I'll refer you to that lesson. If it's an ask that's relevant to something coming up, I will answer it, but you will find more detail in the lesson coming up! I'm only one person doing this, and I can't answer every singular scenario. Also, keep in mind, if you ask me my opinion on something, I will be fair, but honest!

7. Will you be turning on anons?

Okay: right now, we've earned Anon Office Hours Wednesday thru Friday 12:30-6:30pm EST!

Most of this is due to the nature of what I'm discussing. Historically, these topics (and how race is relevant) upset some people, and it can get unsafe. Personally, I have no intention of allowing racists, or those who will take my advice in bad faith, to hide their faces. If you want to hate me, speak with your chest 😤👍🏾

The other part is that it is not a bad thing to ask questions! I did create this blog to be a learning opportunity. So long as you are kind to me and send me asks in good faith, I will be kind to you and reply in good faith. I'm also pretty sure I have the option to answer privately, so if you don't want your question posted publicly, You can say that.

Hii ! I'm not that good at explaining , but i can try to explain how i do things !

I find masks on pinterest or this carrd i also have my most used ) fav resources in this post!

I use photopea && ibis paint. For the png placement.. i mainly put the mask in the middle and if i wanna add things like ribbons or other pngs i put it like.. to the side but on top of the first mask if that makes sense? theres a lot of ways to place pngs though, i recommend you look through tumblr for edits and you can give urself an idea on designs and even take inspo ! ( rmbr to cr if the creator asks 04 insp credit , you can also search up ' rentry inspo ' on pinterest and a lot of rentry graphics will come up ! )

For the filters ) coloring, you can use polarr (and app) or psds ! you can search up free psd or psd on tumblr.. its sort of like a filter ? it works mainly on photopea & photoshop.. so just download the psd and import it onto photopea ) photoshop ! hopefully that makes sense idk.. @/kiochisato , @/essthereal , @/ii-nandesu , @/heartsymphonia are who i mainly use psds from !

hi! your game is literally so breathtaking and so beautifully developed that i might just collapse soon. i wanted to ask though, if you flirt with Aeran but you don’t select the romance part, will that lock you out of his path forever? it’s just that i wanted to see the other options as well before making a definite decision.

Hello! Thanks so much for checking out the game, I'm so glad you're enjoying it! 💞

You MUST select the #4 option when Aeran is introduced to flag the possibility of romancing him. His romance content hinges on him and the MC having unresolved feelings for each other building for a long time. If you do not select this flag, you will be locked out of future romance content with him. There are a couple of friendship flirts in Episode 1, but they do no raise romance points unless you have him flagged.

However, flagging his romance does not lock you into it. It only sets the possibility - the feelings are there, but whether they are acted on or not is up to your MC. You can absolute pursue other romances or flings with his romance flagged. You can do some of his romance content and then break things off (RIP former Aeranmancers in Episode 2, hat's off to you).

Aeran is the only character with romance content that works like this and it's because of he and the MC have known each other for 21 years. I tried to keep it open for the MC to establish feelings for him later, but it got too complicated alongside all of the other nuances going on.

You're not locked into anything when you make this choice, you're just establishing a baseline for future options. If you want the potential for it, flag it. If you know you do not want it, don't flag it.

You’re been waiting patiently, and the answers are here. After the global announcement of the Tamagotchi Uni we soliciting questions from the Tamagotchi community that you wanted answered by Bandai! These questions were brought directly to the Tamagotchi team over in Japan, after their busy week at the 2023 Tokyo Toy Show!

Q: How do two Tamagotchi Uni’s connect?

A: They directly communicate wirelessly.

Q: Which countries is the Tamagotchi Uni being released in?

A: We’re told that there are plans for 35 countries. It will be released in North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Oceania, and Asia.

Q: What is the expected battery life of the Tamagotchi Uni?

A: It should operate 72 hours with about 1 hour of play per day and in sleep mode. Though it does depend on the usage, frequency communication and method of play.

Q: Will the Tamagotchi Uni come in additional shell colors?

A: You’ll have to wait and see!

Q: Are all Tamagotchi Uni devices capable of all 7 languages?

A: Yes, all Tamagotchi Uni devices feature all 7 languages.

Q: Marriage returns to the Tamagotchi Uni! Do the two Tamagotchi’s have a baby or do they drop off an egg?

A: As we’ve done previously, two Tamagotchi characters get married and then you get an egg. You can find a partner via connection or through the Tama Party on the Tamaverse!

Q: Will there be an app or website for the Tamaverse, or is it an on-device feature only?

A: It’s more fun to have it all on the device and not require back and forth play. There is no app. Our website has product information play information, hints, videos, downloads, and more! Plus we’ll be providing some downloads for your Tamagotchi character. So some fun stuff!

Q: How often will the events in the Tamaverse be updated?

A: They will be updated seasonally!

Q: You can send Tama Social pictures to mobile, do you have further information on this, and can you take screenshots on the Tamagotchi Uni and send to mobile?

A: You’ll get a QR code that your mobile device can scan to be added to your photo library. The visuals you can share are from the Tamagotchi profile or Tama Social screen.

Q: How often will the games be switched up in the Tama Arena?

A: They’ll be updated seasonally.

Q: Does the Tamagotchi Uni use buttons only and no touch screen?

A: Yes, buttons. No touchscreen. Though there is an accelerator to add motion play!

Q: How long Is the watchband in size (inches)?

A: The band is about 9.5 inches long plus the buckle.

Hi, How long does it take to complete your game?

Good question! I find it really hard to know at this point!

Technically you can "complete" it in about ten minutes, if you decide to make Watson a very very sad "picnic"....

But if you're actually trying to complete everything you need to in order to make the best picnic, I think that someone could probably whizz through it in a few hours if they wanted. My playtesters so far have tended to spend 3-6 hours, spending time exploring each environment and trying different things.

I wanted to make the kind of game where if you want, you can just leave all the 'puzzles' for a bit and go play your violin for people or get people presents or thrust beekeeping equipment at them and force them to listen to you lecturing.

You could also replay the game and make some different choices, which result in different scenes playing out.

Tics/Tourette’s FAQs:

Note: this is not how every person with tics/Tourette’s thinks or feels, it’s just MY experience, so it’s always best to ask if you’re wondering about someone else. As always, feel free to ask any other questions you have and I’ll answer them!

Q: What do tics feel like?

A: It’s kind of like blinking or a hiccup. I don’t have to think about it for it to happen, they’re just second nature to me. For the most part I don’t even notice them unless they’re interrupting me or someone else points it out.

Q: Do you know when you’re about to tic?

A: I usually get a warning called a premonitory urge. With vocal tics this feels like my throat is scratchy or tingly a split second before the tic. With motor tics it feels like lightning or energy in the area, for example, energy running down my arm before hitting something.

Q: Can I laugh at your tics?

A: I don’t mind if you laugh at tics that look/sound funny, but if you’re laughing at me hurting myself or if I’m obviously in discomfort I’d prefer you don’t. Just distinguish between laughing WITH my vs. laughing AT me.

Q: Do you tic in your sleep?

A: Sometimes in really light sleep I twitch slightly, but generally I don’t tic while sleeping.

Q: Can you drive with tics?

A: Yes, I can drive just fine. I don’t have many tics that would be dangerous on the road. However if it became an issue I would pull over and calm down before putting anyone’s safety at risk.

Q: Can you tic on command?

A: Yes and no. My tics are involuntary, I can’t control when they happen. However they can be triggered, so if someone mentions a specific tic of mine I’m probably going to start saying it(on a serious note, please don’t trigger specific tics because you like them, this can cause really big issues for me)

Q: Do you know when you tic?

A: I’m still conscious while ticcing, I don’t black out every time it happens. But honestly I am so used to the tics I don’t even notice them sometimes.

Q: Do you ever say something bad and blame it on a tic(even though it wasn’t)?

A: I generally don’t use my disability to get away with things that I know are wrong. I’d never be saying this stuff otherwise so I don’t use my Tourette’s as an excuse.

Q: Is Tourette’s something you’re born with/Is it contagious?

A: Tourette’s is a genetic condition that you need to be born with to have. This means that you can’t ‘catch’ tics if you don’t already have Tourette’s or another tic disorder.

Q: Have you ever been accused of faking?

A: More times than I can count at this point. My tics can be really out there and tend to be very confusing for people who don’t try to understand. Unfortunately this does mean that I get a lot of fake-claiming.

Q: What’s the difference between a tic disorder and Tourette’s?

A: Tourette’s is a tic disorder, but not every tic disorder is Tourette’s. Tourette’s is only one of three main organic tic disorders(chronic tic disorder and provisional tic disorder being the other two). Aside from those, there’s also a lot of other things that can cause functional tics, like FND, brain damage, encephalitis/BGE, etc.

Some basics about union membership in the UK, for you all:

                            You have the right to:

 choose to join or not join a union

 decide to leave or remain a member of a union

 belong to the union you choose, even if it’s not the one your employer negotiates with on pay, terms and conditions

 belong to more than one union

Your employer is not allowed to:

 offer you a benefit to leave a trade union

 threaten to treat you unfairly if you do not leave a union

An employer or employment agency is not allowed to insist that you:

 join or leave a trade union

 leave one union for another

Your employer is not allowed to dismiss you or choose you for redundancy because you:

 are or want to be a union member

 are not or do not want to be a union member

 took part or wanted to take part in union activities

Your employer must not treat you unfavourably (for example refusing you promotion or training opportunities) if you:

 join a union

 take part in its meetings

 leave a union

Even if your employer does not official recognise your union, these rights apply. In certain situations, the employer must acknowledge your union rep.

Employers must consult with union reps if:

 there is going to be a business transfer or takeover

 they are planning to make 20 or more people redundant within 90 days

You have the right to be accompanied by your union rep to some meetings with management - for example, if:

 you’re facing a disciplinary charge

 you wish to raise a grievance with your employer

You have the right to take action with your union, including strike action. If you take strike action, you are seen to be in breach of your contract- this sounds scary but it’s not, it just means your employer is allowed to dock a day’s pay from you. They don’t have to do this.

Taking part in industrial action does not end your continuous service with your employer, but your employer can reduce the number of continuous service days you have with them- this can have implications in terms of sick pay, maternity rights, etc.

You can’t be dismissed for industrial action if:

it’s called as a result of a properly organised ballot

 it’s about a trade dispute between workers and their employer (eg about your terms and conditions)

 a detailed notice about the industrial action (which is legally required) has been given to the employer at least 7 days before it begins

You can claim unfair dismissal at an employment tribunal if you’re dismissed for taking industrial action at any time within the 12 weeks after the action began.

To go on strike, you simply withdraw your labour. There is no requirement to picket. However, picketing your workplace can enable others to withdraw their labour.

I know some employers are trying to scare their staff out of going on strike, but you do have rights and the union will help you if you are treated detrimentally because you’ve gone on strike.

What is this?

Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss is about the structure of Hell through Vivienne Medrano's mind. With the completion of the first season of Hazbin Hotel, we are excited to host a themed week to focus on Hell a little bit more. Through the themed week, we are hoping for more content from you guys, whether it is art (of any media other than murder, we'll keep that to the shows only), fanfic or anything else that makes sense to you to create!

When is it?

HellaVerse Week will take place between October 27th, 2024 to November 2nd to honor the release of the Hazbin Hotel Pilot which is October 28th, 2019, and @random-nerd-posts is hosting other events between that time and can't do two things at once it seems.

HOWEVER! This should not stop you from creating fan works for the fandoms either! But if you post before the week, we might miss you, so be sure to tag us when you do post so we can share the joy of creation with you.

Are there prompts?

Yes! There are four to choose from each day and some alternate prompts as well. This post has the final prompts and explains the tagging system. Many thanks to the discord mods for helping ensure the list looked pretty and readable.

The theme of the prompts is rainbows, rings of hell and the seven deadly sins, which in itself is a load of days you can use as well.

What can I make?

You can make or write basically anything: haikus, limericks, 100 word drabbles, ficlets, long fics, traditional art, digital art, gifsets, cosplay, embroidery, etc.

Just keep the killings to the shows please, I don't need to be arrested for accessory to murder.

What about existing fanworks?

Feel free to link existing works you have completed in the past, but they need to be tagged accordingly so we can share the works on the blog and you get credit for the day. You can also recommend other's works (obviously crediting to the rightful creator) so that they can get credit for the day as well.

What if I'm not interpreting a prompt correctly?

If the prompt calls to you one way, but not another person's, that's fine. This is what we call the creative process and encourage it.

Is NSFW Allowed?

YES! For sure NSFW is allowed. Yes, we will reblog nsfw content. Do we feel uncomfortable with the possibilities of minors participating, yes, but we also trust that they know not to post nsfw content online. So don't do it.

We are allowing NSFW works because... HAVE YOU SEEN THE SHOWS?!?! Have you seen Asmodeus, or Hazbin Hotel episode 4? Yeah, those are nsfw, so can the content. BUT TAG ACCORDINGLY OR WE WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT!

Are there other events for HellaVerse?

Not that we know, but there is a @nimonabigbang happening. The writer applications close March 1st. Artist applications close April 1st and more information can be found on the blog, which is run by @random-nerd-posts and @zyrafowe-sny.

There's also a @nimona-week going on, which is run by Zyrafowe and you should give them a follow.

Night Market FAQ's

We have reached the point where I'm getting a lot of the same asks coming in so I'm going to have a FAQ's sheet that I can hopefully update with the most common questions.

How to avoid spoilers

Block the tag end game spoilers. I will make sure to tag anything incredibly spoilery with that.

Are there poly routes?

Yes. Bella/Gabriel. Milo/Mal. All poly options will be marked accordingly. You will not fall into a poly without your knowledge

Is there a solo Milo route?

You can romance Milo by himself but Milo is not monogamous and will end up having a relationship with Malcolm at some point. What that relationship looks like is still up for debate. But you do not have to romance Malcolm.

Is there a solo Mal route? See above. It's a similar situation except for the fact that Malcolm does identify as monogamous. Milo and Lamplight are an exception to his rule.

Will there be more books?

Yes! I have two more planned at the very least.

Will this be released on Steam/Itch/IOS?

I will be releasing on Steam and itch.io to begin with. It is a little harder to convert to mobile so I will be looking into that when I have time and the money to have someone convert it for me.

Can I be mean to the RO's?

If the situation calls for it, normally there is an option to be firm. To state that you are upset. To even yell or argue your point. No, you cannot be mean for the sake of being mean. You cannot be violent for the sake of being violent.
