i'll just call myself the avoidance anon (lol) and yes, we're doing much better, thank you! I'm happy to say that, as a big FU to my (ex) dad, I am now earning three times his salary. haha

anyways, on the subject of kids, I have this scenario where my PC have always wanted to have a child (totally not me btw) but obviously that didn't happen bc of the cheating and divorce. in a game I played recently, the MC's mother had artifical insemination to have a baby. so what if our PC did that too (we better be making big bucks as a marriage councellor or i'll sue) a year or two after the divorce.

I hc my PC as someone who overworks to cope (if I can't see you, you can't see me) and kinda just... forgets to take care of themselves at some point. while spending a day-off on their favorite cafe, they happen to see a happy family walk by and after almost a week of thinking, they're on their way to get an IUI. a few months later, its confirmed that they're pregnant and affectionately call the bundle of joy, 'my miracle'. ('I lost myself but I found you, my tiny miracle')

on the night of the accident, PC asked the sweet old couple next door to babysit bc they're working late aaand... there goes the plot. at some point after the accident, the ex-spouse somehow meets the child and is curious about the father and (possibly) gets even more heartbroken realizing PC most likely went through a pregnancy alone; the morning sickness, pregnancy cravings, and the heightened emotions on top of the soreness.

ex-spouse: 'oh, what are you drawing?'

(c/n): 'ms. penny said to draw my family. this is me; I'm a prince/princess.'

ex-spouse: "oh, is this your mommy and daddy, then?"

(c/n): 'no, mommy is the fairy godmother. that's daddy and his princess.'

ex-spouse: 'your daddy and... his princess?'

(c/n): 'mmh! mommy said my real daddy left to look for his true love, and that they lived happily ever after.'

(the skit is purely for emotional damage LOLOLOL)

ex-spouse is left to be a silent observer as he watches PC put the child to sleep by singing them a lullaby (think 'never grow up' by ts) and watch them be the mother they always wanted to be, except, the spot next to them was empty (different from his imagination) and the warm, loving gaze PC used to give him was now directed at someone else.

for extra angst, i'd like to imagine the ex-spouse's parents being aware that PC had a baby and sends birthday and holiday gifts for the little one. they were even there for the baby's birth. when the ex later called his parents to ask why they didn't say anything to him about the baby, they simply said 'it was none of his business'. of course, the parents would notice PC overworking themselves, but months later, they saw small, positive change with the PC, and when they opened up they were, in fact, pregnant, they didn't want their kid to ruin the happiness PC found (again)

at this point, it just became a mini-au of an au. I'M JSUT SO EXCITED FOR THIS IF JSJAKPQXNWO

uhm...this skit😭😭 emotional damage achieved anon😭 also i love never grow up!! well this story broke my heart WHYY. reading this makes me so glad i didnt add any kids into this horrible mix LOL. and by the end of the book itll just be up in the air what happens with MC and their partner, so you guys can just create whatever scenarios you want haha

You kind of already answered this with the ex so I’m just curious about the other two :)

hi! i think both of them would be understanding, but it would also depend on how extreme the MCs paranoia/insecurity was. sure, theyd completely sympathise with the MCs past experience, but if it got to the point where it put a serious strain on the relationship, i would imagine both of them would take a step back from that relationship label. just because those constant stresses wouldnt be healthy

but you can still expect loads of support without that status. and im sure theyd both be open to trying again when MCs in a better headspace!

yayyyy sure!!

they teach at the local primary school

theyre childless, but they spend loads of time arranging cool activities for their nieces and nephews haha. i guess theyre the fun aunt/uncle

the youngest of 3 siblings but theyre all pretty close in age

theyre actually quite a nervous person, but theyll ignore their discomfort to "get things done", especially if its to somebody elses benefit

i think for people romancing them, theyll find it really hard to balance time for MC and time spent putting others first, because the last thing they want is for anyone to feel bad. (thisll lead to tension because of the frequent '"rain checks")

people take them for granted. they spend a lot of time and energy taking the load off their sisters's backs, when kids and life get too much, they offer help where they can etc., so i think a bit of appreciation is LONG overdue!!!! (but that subject can definitely be broached later on...)

they do!!! I think theyd love to ultimately settle down and have a family of their own. but because theyve already experienced a household filled with lots of kids, im not sure if theyd be super ecstatic about having a bunch themselves, just because they wouldnt deem it possible to allocate enough time to each child (which is a must for them). theyd definitely want to compromise though, so theyd meet the MC somewhere in the middle (2/3). definitely no more than 3 rascals running wild though haha

well the bartenders got a pretty big family and i guess most of their (over)protectiveness stems from that responsibility (not gonna say too much cause spoilers) and hehe im so excited for the upcoming chapters cause lots can go down hehehe

the patients up for anything even though it might take loads of convincing, id recommend 10/10. but obviously be prepared for some drama, because thats my passion haha

I am really wondering, what would ex do if they were in mc's position? Like if mc cheated on them for months like they did and then came back with barely any character development would they forgive them?

well, i think that the ex would have removed themselves from the situation if they found out about the affair the way the MC did. i dont think they wouldve necessarily flipped or anything (just because its such a shock), i think they wouldve definitely needed to take some time to think and digest. then, after the divorce (they wouldnt have fought against it), they wouldve felt very directionless, you know?

now onto the present. if the MC suddenly showed up without any character development, it wouldve been really difficult for them cause the second theyd see the MC theyd have all these beautiful memories etc., in their head, which they cant just erase - they arent wired that way, sadly. (side note: this is also why they re-enter the MCs life the way they do) and going back to their believe in fate, i think they wouldve heard the MC out, at the very least. and while the MC might not have had any character development, knowing and hearing that you do want to make things right, but your way of going about things is just terrible, i think they wouldve opened the door to their life very gradually, with no intention of necessarily rekindling the relationship, after seeking advice on how to deal from family, friends etc. if, some time down the line, things were starting to point towards possibly rekindling romance, i dont think theyd be opposed to second chances

but thats them, of course! if this is completely irredeemable for you, thats valid too!

as someone who saw their dad cheat and became numb to the 'hurt' (as in, 'it happens. people like the 'thrill' of someone new') i'm really curious how the ex-spouse would react if, after the cheating was revealed, our PC was just like, '... it's fine. I kind of expected it' with a blank look and resigned tone. cue that night, PC either slept in a guest room or the couch (i have severe avoidance issue. don't judge) and the next morning, PC took a day-off to take care of the divorce procedures like a normal monday morning, truly believing the ex-spouse was just staying out of obligation and genuinely wants to give them back their 'freedom'.

(bonus: the ex-spouse later found out the reason why PC didn't take any alimony because they had a savings account 'just in case' with a HUGE sum of money, as if they were expecting it for a long time. my mom had to shoulder a lot of debts bc the sperm donor kicked us out to marry the mistress lawlz)

i think that would have been something that kept replaying in their mind for a long time. because, for them, the cheating was a regrettable mistake, a slip up, a thing theyd take back if they could. but to see that the MC was prepared for that to happen e.g., the savings etc., thus always expected the relationship to come to an end the way it did, would have been a tough pill to swallow.

they were supposed to be the MC's reason for believing in relationships working out, and the fact that theyve completely let them down, and that theyve essentially left the MC "disappointed but not surprised", would have really haunted them in the years following the divorce. i think there also would have been a lot more introspection, if that was the case
