I just went for a walk, thought about this and that ... And suddenly I wondered, what inspired you to make The Beekeeper's Picnic? Do you remember when you first had the idea? I'm curious! :)

I wish people were nicer to you. This blog helped me a lot back when I first diagnosed with BPD. Some of the people who send you asks sound worried about being ~the problem~ in their lives and take it out on you.

I think for a lot of people, they aren’t ready to hear some of the things I talk about. And it’s super valid. I don’t take it personally because I’ve been there. I usually reply to ones where I think the overall message in my response will also be helpful to others reading my blog.

When Emmeline asks her why she’s staring at Potter (again), she replies with “I can’t help enjoying watching Mulciber get punched in the gob, can I? It’s a sight for sore eyes” (she means Potter).

When Sirius asks her why she’s staring at his best friend, she blinks back - James Potter has fallen asleep curled up on the floor beside the fire, his glasses askew, hair wild, a wet patch of saliva on his shirt sleeve - “he’s so cute” she wants to say; she doesn’t, just blushes.

Thought: combining your interest and your husband's interest to create: Phantom of the Opera except it's a WWE storyline. Towards the end Christine Die (face) has teamed up with The Phantom (heel), and they're shooting a promo for the upcoming Don Juan match. Christine is going to betray the Phantom, except OH NO THE PHANTOM HAS BETRAYED HER AND NOW THE REAL EVENT IS A CAGE TAG-TEAM MATCH (torture chamber/final lair) WITH ROWDY RAOUL RUMBLER AND THE DEADLY DAROGA VS THE PHANTOM and ric flair TO RESCUE CHRISTINE. The match ends with Christine hitting the Phantom with a steel chair (maybe)

I'm sure someone already asked you this, but I am kinda new to your page, so I haven't seen it.

What inspired you/why did you decide to make the game specifically about them after they retire?

Personally, I love the idea and find it really cute and can't wait when the full version comes out :)

I'm sure I have answered before but I'm very bad at tagging things properly...

So, I think my line of thinking/inspiration went something like this:

I just generally really like hopepunk/utopian/introspective stories where the threat isn't an exterior one but solely comes from characters having to figure out who they are and what they want and what a good life means to them.

When Star Trek Picard was announced, I remember instantly wishing it was about retired Picard on his vineyard solving cosy/philosophical mysteries on solar punk utopian Earth. I knew it probably *wasn't* going to be that and it was going to involve spaceships and battles, but I think I filed that idea away somewhere in my brain.

The fun thing with Sherlock Holmes is that Arthur Conan Doyle ended up putting together a slightly patchwork picture of the lives of his characters, which opens the door for speculation about what was "really" happening. In 'His Last Bow', the final story chronologically, Holmes and Watson seem to have grown apart, but the moment they are together again they resume their old closeness. Holmes speculates they may not see each other again after that story... but did they? It feels like there's a story there waiting to be told!

I wrote something in Volume 3 of So Far Down Queer Street if you want to read me rambling more about why their relationship captivates me.

Also when Adrian Conan Doyle had a go at writing his father's characters, he gave us a slightly different ending which I adore...

People seem to be being quite critical today. The thing about recovery is it's not linear, you can be in recovery and do better for a long time, and then have a bad day that makes you feel like you've fallen off track, but that's not putting you back to square one.

You've still made progress, you've still learned how to cope better, and you can come back from a bad day and get back on track. There's always a point to recovery, but you can't expect to be perfect and 100% recovered permanently forever, relapses happen, but that doesn't mean you're not in recovery from BPD.

You're doing great.

I think part of my recovery too is a bad day doesn’t feel off track to me anymore! I see my progress and recovery in how I handle the bad days so I just accept it as a bad day and move on. And that also feels so nice.

Heya! I'm dropping by people's ask boxes today with random fun asks for nice ask day!

Since you've been so excited about them lately, what's your favorite part of the Jaskier/Radovid ship?

...my babies. I love them, your honour.

My favourite thing is that we got them in canon. I still wake up and pinch myself because we finally got Jaskier confirmed as queer and we also got queer Radovid from the get go.

That we got this beautiful kiss

Which got messier. They really went for it.

The way they both openingly eye each other up, building up on their attraction to each other and that they both see behind each other's mask and find what they see beautiful.

And when things fell apart, Jaskier was still willing to help Radovid out despite his heartache. His empathy remains his superpower.

He even says "maybe" to Radovid’s question about joining Jaskier on the road.

Radovid was willing to give up everything for Jaskier. He wanted to run away with him and was actively trying to do so when he got trapped by circumstances.

And the most important thing is that Joey was so involved in how their relationship was written. He wrote a 7000 essay on it, urged to get away from stereotypes, petitioned to have Vespula involved so we could see his bi/pansexuality, and even wrote Extraordinary Things to replace lines of dialogue.

And I hope that we get more of their relationship in future seasons. Lauren did say this relationship would "have ripple effects for a very long time."

Another thing I love (yeah, can't shut me up) is that Jaskier is from royalty: he's a viscount. Being in a relationship with Radovid as a prince (and then king) is entirely possible for them.

In the books, Jaskier was willing to marry ruling duchess Anna Henrietta. Will Radovid become the male counterpart to this storyline? Maybe.

Anyway, to finally get Jaskier confirmed as queer and to explore his lovelife through Vespula and Radovid was amazing.

And all the amazing ideas the fandom are having right now about what could happen between them in future seasons, how they could get back together, it's just amazing.

Hello!! Oh my God, your blog is fantastic! I have been spending hours just pouring over it, noting down the music suggestions. The Diamanda Galás version of “I Put a Spell on You” has changed my life. Because of your blog, I’ve read “Drugs are Nice” and listened to Suckdog for days straight. I was very into no wave initially, and I’m so glad Lydia Lunch and Swans have brought me here. I have loved music for a very long time, and have learned how to draw because I thought I could never “learn” how to be musical, but I can’t resist making beeps and boops sometimes on free software. I’m 20 now, and wanting to get started maybe making music for real. This might be a cliché, but I worry I’m maybe late? So many people started at 13, 16. Anyways, I thought I’d let you know that someone out there is buying a synth because of you!

Wow, thank you! Getting messages like this really puts a smile on my face. I'm happy that you're starting to dip into music of your own.

Also, you're only 20 years old. You've got so, so much time ahead of you to make your musical goals a reality. There are so many musicians out there who didn't start making music in earnest until they were in their 30s or even older. Look at Kristin Hayter/Lingua Ignota, who was held back from making music in her 20s due to an abusive relationship. Look at Heather Gabel, who joined Hide, their first music project, at 37. Hell, Trent Reznor was a janitor until he was 25 and Philip Glass was a mover and a plumber in his 40s.

Hell, look at me. I was in a string of failed doom and death metal bands in my 20s and tried making music on my own starting around 27/28 years old, but I didn't start releasing music on the internet until two years ago at the age of 33. The sky is the limit for you.

Make sure to check out some of the other answered questions on this blog for my advice on what instruments to start with and what noise/industrial musicians are good "gateway" musicians. Good luck in all of your musical endeavors!
