Voodoo dolls have a long history of being enslaved by humans. Entire families would fall under the control of dark hoodoo mystics, and that was the case for Marinette's family. Tom and Sabine managed to get their daughter out when she was eight or so (with help from Bustier and Mendeliev), but they remain in captivity, which haunts Marinette.
Because Ondine's father was saltwater and her mother freshwater, they're essentially shunned not only by their family (barring her maternal grandparents), but by most of their species as a whole. They live in their isolated lagoon because they weren't welcome anywhere else. Most other aquatic monsters immediately recognize Ondine as being mixed (she has lighter toned skin and upward slanted gills, traits of freshwater monsters, but sharp teeth and fins on her arms and legs, which are saltwater features.) and treat her like garbage.
Dragons are actually incredibly rare as of the last few centuries due to the rise of hunting them for their scales and horns. The Tsurugi clan are actually one of the few remaining prominent families, but even their numbers have severely dwindled. Kagami's mother was blinded and her father killed in an attack when she was very young.
Max's creator/father, Markov, mysteriously vanished without a trace around four years ago. Max has scoured every inch of their home and lab trying to find some sort of lead, but has found nothing. He continues to search because he knows his father wouldn't have just abandoned him.
When Ivan was ten years old, his village in the mountains was attacked by a cryptid hunting brigade. His mother managed to get him and Sasha to safety, but his father was killed in the attack trying to give his family time to get away. He still wakes up crying every once in a while.
Simon's parents and the majority of his family deemed him 'worthless' because he was such a 'runt' for their kind. He was essentially disowned and cast out for being an 'embarrassment'. Thankfully, his aunt was having none of that.
Jean possesses a very rare and deadly ability for phantoms, which is to sing a cursed note that can stop the heart and shatter the mind, resulting in instant, painful death. Many see them as a threat because of this, and it's the reason his father took him away from his mother. She wanted to use them as a weapon against humans.
Nathaniel's dad died when a band of humans set fire to the chapel the Kurtzbergs had called home, wanting to rid it of 'demons'. He was smashed to rubble trying to get his son to safety.
Anthony has been persecuted his entire life for being a daemon, and supposedly 'evil'. He has scars from holy water being thrown at him, people have set fire to his family's home, and he constantly gets told to "GO BACK TO HELL!"
Yeah, Ismael’s mom never wanted a kitten and threw both him and his dad out when Fazli refused to “get rid of” their child.
Aurore’s planet was consumed by a civil war which was why her family had to flee to Earth. Her family was a prestigious clan with HUGE targets on their backs, and had to go to a planet basically off the records for their own safety.

SILVER DIMES In Hoodoo
Silver Dimes, Aka Mercury dimes were issued between 1916 and 1945. These dimes were about 95% silver and depicted the of Liberty woth a phrygian cap (winged cap) This winged figure that was thought to be Roman God Mercury is no other then Lady Liberty her self.
Now in the true southern hoodoo not all dimes used were mercury dimes. In reality silver dimes were very difficult for slaves and even some freed Black men or women to get, so they usually had to substitute coins or coin like objects such as metal buttons to perform a ritual. So when you make a payment to a spirit you can use regular coins don't need to be real silver.
When dimes became more available The main types of dime that were used were the Barber dimes, Mercury dimes, and Roosevelt dimes.
In folk magic, images of money can be often used to draw money, luck, justice. These coins is carried to attract a particular essence of luck and money to let the spirit know you need that little extra help. There also carried and used for justice.
Now a lot of cultures from China to Europe, and the United States used silver coins for their magical rituals.
But when it comes to Southern African-American hoodoo tradition dimes were used in mojo bags and also were worn ether around the neck or ankle.
Another myth is that a coin from a leap-day is more powerful. I'm here to say it's not silver in it self is powerful just like gold is and can make a good charm.
In 1967 more than 20 percent of the patients in 4 Louisiana parishes were recorded as reporting to their Nurse or Doctor the use of copper, gold, or silver wires, coins, or rings tied around the neck, waist, or ankle. Today, the use of dime amulets is typically used for spiritual purposes over physical healing and silver is a must in your magical cabinet.
One of the important uses for silver dimes is payment given when purchasing graveyard dirt. (See my post on buying graveyard dirt)
Some Uses For A Dime is to be worn as a anklet or put them inside one's shoes to fear not walking over evil.
Making a charm: Take you mercury dime put in the middle of a piece of red flannel cloth add some money or luck oil. I also add a pinch of success, money powder on top of the dime pull it together and tie with string. This is a good powerful charm to have.

Can black people be mermaids? A theory about elemental spirits
There is something to be said about why Halle Bailey has been receiving so much racist backlash ever since it was announced in 2019 that she was cast to play Ariel in the live-action depiction of the little mermaid. While a lot of use we’re excited for the news to see a black person in a movie about a mermaid, others weren’t very fond of it. In fact some even had racist responses. Some will disguise their racism as the lack of “redhead representation”. Or even will use the argument that since Poseidon is a figure in Greek mythology, Ariel should be white. We’ll get to that part later. 😏
When Black Panther came out in theaters, it was like a holiday for black people. That movie currently has the record of the highest grossing marvel film in history, and the highest grossing film for the year 2018. Why? Because it depicted black people as the leaders of the richest fictional country in the MCU. However, the same thing happened when the trailers released, racist comments left and right. It’s almost as if since y’all can’t keep us in cotton fields anymore, at the very least y’all can watch us in movies as the lowest beings of society to bring comfort to your racist hearts.
Whenever black people enjoy and celebrate something, we get mocked for it. But I digress.
In the eyes of mainstream media, apparently they won’t let a black person be the main character unless they agree to be in a film where their oppression is the main subject.
White people and white supremacy constantly goes out of their way to put down melanated people as nothing more than a slur, or a “token” that white ppl can use to seem “progressive” or “edgy”, or even to fulfill some sick fantasy.
So of course some of y’all can’t possibly imagine somebody black being an elemental spirit, like a mermaid.
Not to mention, so many of our cultures and religions, which for the most part we’re nature-based, are demonized to this day. Look at these industries that white people have created that are destroying the earth. Look at the stereotypes that are given to black and indigenous spiritual practices (hoodoo, voodoo, Santerìa, brujeria, Lucumi, Ifà, etc). The programming that we’ve received that keep us from stepping into our spiritual power because it’s considered “evil” is phenomenal.
Now let’s get to the good part:
Many people speculate that white people don’t even belong on this planet. Which isn’t too far fetched. Look at what white supremacy has done to so many cultures around the world, all of which are NATURE BASED. Look at the way that y’all burn in the sun. Look at the way y’all appropriate our cultures.
In recent years I’ve been seeing a common theme of the earth having a much higher vibration, a very long time ago, where elemental spirits could thrive, until unfamiliar, foreign industrialization and colonization ruined the earth causing these spirits to lose their powers and even disappear over time. That’s assuming that these creatures existed in real life once upon a time, which I personally believe they did.
Melanated people are literally creatures of the earth. We belong here. So in terms of elemental spirits, such as mermaids, fairies (fae), nymphs, angels, minotaurs, etc., It would make a lot more sense for those creatures to be melanated. Not white.
It’s not impossible for a mermaid to be black, in fact it would be the most possible.

The Ledge #579: New Releases
I bet all of you Ledge listeners know the drill. The first show of the month is always new releases, and that's the case here. But there is a little difference in this week's show. Normally, I don't touch on reissued records. That's for another theme. But obviously I can't ignore the news that in September The Replacements are putting out a box set version of the classic album, Tim. Besides the usual outtakes and live material, there is a special remix of the entire album by the legendary Ed Stasium! If you're not familiar with Stasium, he has produced dozens and dozens of classic albums over the years, including records by The Ramones, Talking Heads, Soul Asylum, Long Ryders, Hoodoo Gurus, Reverend Horton Heat, Motorhead, and so many more! Given that the only negative feature of Tim was the mix, letting Stasium do a fix is going to blow people's minds!
Yet that's not my only reissue this week, as fellow Real Punk Radio host Greg Lonesome has just put out a newly remastered version of Shotgun Full of Blues, a record he released 20 years ago as the leader of the Lonesome Kings. There's a ton of bonus tracks included with this amazing record, including demos and special mixes. But it, my friends!
As for this week's edition of "52 Weeks of Teenage Kicks", I actually have a new version. Veteran pyschobilly band Griswalds just released a half studio/half live record, Are Growing Old Disgracefully, and one of the live tracks is indeed a cover of the Undertones classic. Where are the Seven Gates of Hell Located?
Many over the past few centuries tell that the Seven Gates of Hell or each located on one of each of the continents. The seven traditional continents are (from largest in size to smallest): Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. That Means That there is one Gate of Hell for each Continent respectively.
But over the years many strange tales have arisen concerning their specific location and what happens to you if you dare to find them. Truth or fiction the tales often grow with each telling. Many forums, blogs and message boards are filled with the evil's and misconceptions of what a doorway to hell is really like and where it might be found.
The Gate to Hell in Africa many say is located in Egypt. The exact locations said by many would be gate searchers is thought to be located directly under the left paw of the great Sphinx. This Horrific Gate is known to be Called the Gate to The Underworld or After Life, the great hall of records. To this date no one has entered it or found it.
It is situated near the small town of Darvaz. The story of this place lasts already for 35 years. Once the geologists were drilling for gas. Then suddenly during the drilling they have found an underground cavern, it was so big that all the drilling site with all the equipment and camps got deep deep under the ground. None dared to go down there because the cavern was filled with gas. So they ignited it so that no poisonous gas could come out of the hole, and since then, it's burning, already for 35 years without any pause. Nobody knows how many tons of excellent gas has been burned for all those years but it just seems to be infinite there.
The Gate of hell in Asia is located in Aokigahara, also known as the Sea of Trees, is a forest that lies at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The caverns found in this forest are rocky and ice-covered annually. It has been claimed by local residents and visitors that the woods are host to a great amount of paranormal phenomena. It is an old ancient forest reportedly haunted by many urban historical legends of strange beasts, monsters, ghosts, and goblins, which add to its serious and sinister reputation.
Some in the world will tell you it is one of the actual seven gates to hell! The location is said to haunted by demons as well as ghosts. These demons or those that make you take your life. I found these forest to be very disturbing and in my mind what a hideous place of beauty for a infernal hole to hell to be in.
Near or under the Great Temple Mount In Israel. One if the possible gates to hell is called Satan's Front Door. Some scholars will argue that this door was once in Rome and Moved to the Holy land when Israel Became a State 14 May 1948. It is Believed it took 2 thousand legions of demons and Devil's to move the great gate because it is the most powerful and strongest doors that Satan has for gaining souls. When it Was Rome their were two gates of hell on the continent and it is believe that the great Caesar's had it originally moved there when they found it in The Holy Land originally.
In 1867, a team from the Royal Engineers, led by Lieutenant Charles Warren (later the London police commissioner of Jack the Ripper fame) and financed by the Palestine Exploration Fund (P.E.F.), discovered a series of tunnels beneath Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, some of which were directly underneath the headquarters of the Knights Templar.
Various small artifacts were found which indicated that Templar's had used some of the tunnels, though it is unclear who exactly first dug them. Some of the ruins which Warren discovered came from centuries earlier, and other tunnels which his team discovered had evidently been used for a water system, as they led to a series of cisterns.
The Gate to Hell is by many thought to be located in Europe. And it is hidden in Pere Lachaise Paris Cemetery Paris. It is said to be a great grand gate with very notable significance. this gate is said to be the one that all great heads of state must enter through when they die. And through this gate World Leaders must be judged by the Devil first and not God. Many tales tell of vampire-like entities guarding the entrance. Some believe that the Underground catacombs of Paris are the true gates but many beg to differ.
Some searchers believe that the actual Hellfire Caves Buckinghamshire, England is a indirect gate to Hell. Some call it a side door to the dark underworld of Satan.
West Wycombe Caves, also known as Hellfire Caves, located in the Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire, England, are most well known as a meeting place for members of The Hellfire Club. The caves were extended by Sir Francis Dashwood (later Lord le Despencer) between 1748–1752. They provided work for unemployed farm workers following a succession of harvest failures, and lie close to Dashwood's country house, West Wycombe Park (now owned by the National Trust). The chalk mines that were extended to form the caves had existed near High Wycombe for a considerable time. The mines are said to have a prehistoric origin, and were presumably created to extract the flint found in the chalk to make hand tools. Locally, flint is used as a building material.
The entrance to the caves is built from flint, and St Lawrence's church, above the Inner Temple, is also built using flint. Due to the extensive alterations made by Dashwood, all evidence of the caves' earlier history seem to have been destroyed. The underground "rooms" are named, from the Entrance Hall, through the Circle, Franklin's Cave (named after Benjamin Franklin, a friend of Dashwood who stayed with him at West Wycombe), the Banqueting Hall, the Triangle, to the Miner's Cave; finally, across a subterranean river named the Styx, lies the final cave, the Inner Temple. An alternative viewpoint was advanced by Daniel P Mannix in his book about The Hellfire Club. This theory suggests that the caves had been deliberately created by Dashwood according to a sexual design.The design begins at the 'womb' of the Banqueting Hall, leading to rebirth through the female triangle, followed by baptism in the River Styx and the pleasures thereafter of the Inner Temple.
This theory is not mentioned in National Trust literature and is allegedly refuted by the Dashwood family.The flint mining theory is also questionable because the Chiltern Hills flint bed overlays the chalk escarpment and does not have to be mined except by means of small open flint dells of which there are many on the area.The caves were refurbished and made suitable for visitors during the 1950s by the late Sir Francis Dashwood, 11th Baronet.
They are now open as a tourist attraction, with life-sized waxwork figures in period costume illustrating the life of the caves in the 18th century. The caves have attracted over 2 million visitors since 1951.
The Gate to Hell in South America is located in Rio de Janeiro. Harbour of Rio de Janeiro is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. The actual open gate yo hell is said to be near where the world famous "Christ the Redeemer" Statue stands. Some say the entrance is in an underwater cave or hidden near the top of Corcovado Peak. Locals believe that during the festival of Carnival the gate swings open to trap those that or unaware of it's location who deserve to be taken to hell alive.
The gate has also been thought to be located at Machu Picchu, Iguazu Falls, Angel Falls, the Nazca lines are thought by some to point the way, Galapagos, along the Amazon which is thought to originate or flow into the river Styx, Patagonia, Andes .
The North American Gate is said to be located at or very near the Tomb Of the great Voodoo - Hoodoo Queen, Marie Laveau. Many say it is the doorway to the home of the eternally tortured and living dead. Many old tales tell of strange monsters issuing from the infernal gates. Vampires zombies and a host of Ghede and strange half dead beings.

Embracing My Spirituality doesn't Mean I've Strayed from God
The fact that I even need to write this is astounding. I’m realizing that spirituality is soooo taboo and people aren’t really sure what it is. But with that comes a lot of ignorance – including people alluding to devil worship. *Eye roll* But Embracing My Spirituality doesn’t Mean that I’ve strayed from God in any form or fashion. My relationship with God runs deep. I’m not even sure how the devil worship even became a thing or an assumption.
Disclaimer** If you are easily offended it may be time for you to bounce that aaaaa*** because I definitely need to set the record straight, and if you’re offended.. I won’t apologize.
Embracing My Spirituality doesn’t Mean that I’ve Strayed from God
The fact that this needs to be said, is a problem within itself. I pray, everyday and I give thanks daily. Just because i chose a different way to follow God doesn’t mean that I’ve strayed. No, I may not sit in a church every Sunday, but I am finding ways to honor God in my day to day life. I meditate, practice yoga & reiki. I mind my everyday business and I genuinely just try to be the best version of myself, everyday. And I don’t see the problem. My aim is for more peace & light within myself as I navigate through life.
What does sage& crystals have to do with it?
Sage & crystals somehow make you a devil worshipper. I’m definitely uncertain of how this analogy makes sense. Incense are burned during most church services & I don’t see anyone crying devil worship from the pews. I don’t see questions being raised about that or any questions from those in service.. Yet, the fact that I burn incense bothers you… But you don’t live in my home or partake in anything that I do for myself so why would this affect you?
The main reason I burn any of these things is to cleanse myself & my space of negative energy. I just want to be able to enter a room and sit with myself during meditation or prayer & just be. I love entering a room where the balance has been restored and it’s peaceful. Just mind your business and don’t touch my things. Your energy is gross and I really don’t need that sticking to me in any form. I’m just over here connecting to my higher self, seeking a sense of peace and happiness within myself and just bliss. I deserve bliss….
Using religion to back negativity and ignorance doesn’t help you
If you genuinely don’t understand someone’s “way of life”, there are ways to either ask or research for yourself. But linking everything that you don’t understand or you’re unaware of to evil, is beyond ignorant. Not everyone is trying to be a “witch” or practice voodoo, hoodoo or whatever else you picked up from TV. We allllll loved Coven but not everyone is out here trying to Marie Laveau, even though she was definitely a bad bihhhh… Most people, still listen to a great gospel song, meditate, align their chakras & stillllll make it to Sunday service to worship. But I guess ignorance is bliss. You want to believe so bad that the woman connecting to her roots is the devil or up to no good. You choose to believe that crystal use is of the devil and more. It’s the most backwards yet judgmental thing I’ve ever heard.
Plus, being spiritual just means that you aren’t tied to a specific religion, it doesn’t make you a Satanist or an Atheist. So relax, mind your business and make sure that YOU are living a life that God will be proud of. Ya’ll worry entirely about the wrong things. Focus on yourself, and what you’re building and teaching your children. Focus on your relationship with God and if you truly have one verses just going through the motions. Do not ask me about devil worship, because I don’t know anything about that. I don’t practice it. I’m not a meditation away from that, and It’s just not in my nature or spirit to do so.
Just Mind Your Business
Let me glow up. Everyone is attracted to the peace. the light and good vibes. And that’s cool and all, however, minding your business is in your best interest. Stop judging my life from a distance, sending me Bullsh** memes and using it as a Segway to ask if its true. Don’t worry about how I find peace or positives in crap situations. And if I’m truly going through what I am going through because my energy doesn’t show signs of struggle. It takes work, to see the positives in life and in every situation. It takes a whole lot of God and all of the light placed within the universe to function at a high frequency. God blesses me immensely and I’m beyond grateful. There is no devil here.

#tbt I recently read an article about the significance of Haint blue. In Gullah Geechee culture, it is the faint light blue used to ward off evil spirits. You will commonly see it as a color used on porch ceilings in parts of the South. Water is protective in the sense that the malevolent spirits cannot cross it to reach you. Have you ever seen a bottle tree? With colorful glass (blue included) bottles? Same intent and purpose. . Blue has found it’s way into much of my art. It’s been wild to me, about spirituality and faith.
First of all, I respect Christian/Catholic/Baptist faith, I was raised in that. But I don’t run with it. Because it has been an active, and very successful, tool to erase not only black identity but also our roots from where we come from.
I’m happy that I’m seeing more and more black women have a growing interest in looking into Hoodoo (non religious) and Vodou (the religion) because, let’s be real, only women seem to have an interest on improving from deep within the soul so that it can reflect in reality. I’m ecstatic that I’m seeing black people getting interested in ancestral work and worship. It’s encouraging to see us start to pick up the pieces and comb thru the bullshit and misinformation out there, but…
It’s like a game of extremes still. Like, say you’re into spirituality but only the “light and bright” parts (Reiki, Akashic Records, Chakra cleansing) and completely shit on “that devil worship” (spirit work, shadow work, dealing with anything labeled “low/negative energy”). And shit on anything labeled “witchcraft”, because that’s “low = bad/evil” energy. You’re missing the whole point of spirituality. It’s the understanding and study of the soul, ALL OF IT. That which is good and that which is bad, the prejudices (we all have them, don’t lie) and the things we’ll defend with our dying breath. Hatred and love, light and dark, and all that gray area of apathy and gray arts.
It’s interesting, but it’s wild. Because it’s an ongoing process of deconstructing what’s been forced on us for hundreds of years. And it’s difficult, but it’s worthwhile.
Don’t even get me started on black witches *men included, though some try to gender discriminate by saying only women are “witches” and men are “warlocks”, fuck outta here) that vibe hard as fuck with Greek, Norse, _insert non African and open pantheon here_ and get jumped on by the black witches that SOLELY work with African magic and worship as well as getting dogged by non black folks who share in their faith, that’s a whoooole different beast.

Where are the Seven Gates of Hell Located?
Many over the past few centuries tell that the Seven Gates of Hell or each located on one of each of the continents. The seven traditional continents are (from largest in size to smallest): Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. That Means That there is one Gate of Hell for each Continent respectively.
But over the years many strange tales have arisen concerning their specific location and what happens to you if you dare to find them. Truth or fiction the tales often grow with each telling. Many forums, blogs and message boards are filled with the evil’s and misconceptions of what a doorway to hell is really like and where it might be found.
The Gate to Hell in Africa many say is located in Egypt. The exact locations said by many would be gate searchers is thought to be located directly under the left paw of the great Sphinx. This Horrific Gate is known to be Called the Gate to The Underworld or After Life, the great hall of records. To this date no one has entered it or found it.
It is situated near the small town of Darvaz. The story of this place lasts already for 35 years. Once the geologists were drilling for gas. Then suddenly during the drilling they have found an underground cavern, it was so big that all the drilling site with all the equipment and camps got deep deep under the ground. None dared to go down there because the cavern was filled with gas. So they ignited it so that no poisonous gas could come out of the hole, and since then, it’s burning, already for 35 years without any pause. Nobody knows how many tons of excellent gas has been burned for all those years but it just seems to be infinite there.
The Gate of hell in Asia is located in Aokigahara, also known as the Sea of Trees, is a forest that lies at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The caverns found in this forest are rocky and ice-covered annually. It has been claimed by local residents and visitors that the woods are host to a great amount of paranormal phenomena. It is an old ancient forest reportedly haunted by many urban historical legends of strange beasts, monsters, ghosts, and goblins, which add to its serious and sinister reputation.
Some in the world will tell you it is one of the actual seven gates to hell! The location is said to haunted by demons as well as ghosts. These demons or those that make you take your life. I found these forest to be very disturbing and in my mind what a hideous place of beauty for a infernal hole to hell to be in.
Near or under the Great Temple Mount In Israel. One if the possible gates to hell is called Satan’s Front Door. Some scholars will argue that this door was once in Rome and Moved to the Holy land when Israel Became a State 14 May 1948. It is Believed it took 2 thousand legions of demons and Devil’s to move the great gate because it is the most powerful and strongest doors that Satan has for gaining souls. When it Was Rome their were two gates of hell on the continent and it is believe that the great Caesar’s had it originally moved there when they found it in The Holy Land originally.
In 1867, a team from the Royal Engineers, led by Lieutenant Charles Warren (later the London police commissioner of Jack the Ripper fame) and financed by the Palestine Exploration Fund (P.E.F.), discovered a series of tunnels beneath Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, some of which were directly underneath the headquarters of the Knights Templar.
Various small artifacts were found which indicated that Templar’s had used some of the tunnels, though it is unclear who exactly first dug them. Some of the ruins which Warren discovered came from centuries earlier, and other tunnels which his team discovered had evidently been used for a water system, as they led to a series of cisterns.
The Gate to Hell is by many thought to be located in Europe. And it is hidden in Pere Lachaise Paris Cemetery Paris. It is said to be a great grand gate with very notable significance. this gate is said to be the one that all great heads of state must enter through when they die. And through this gate World Leaders must be judged by the Devil first and not God. Many tales tell of vampire-like entities guarding the entrance. Some believe that the Underground catacombs of Paris are the true gates but many beg to differ.
Some searchers believe that the actual Hellfire Caves Buckinghamshire, England is a indirect gate to Hell. Some call it a side door to the dark underworld of Satan.
West Wycombe Caves, also known as Hellfire Caves, located in the Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire, England, are most well known as a meeting place for members of The Hellfire Club. The caves were extended by Sir Francis Dashwood (later Lord le Despencer) between 1748–1752. They provided work for unemployed farm workers following a succession of harvest failures, and lie close to Dashwood’s country house, West Wycombe Park (now owned by the National Trust). The chalk mines that were extended to form the caves had existed near High Wycombe for a considerable time. The mines are said to have a prehistoric origin, and were presumably created to extract the flint found in the chalk to make hand tools. Locally, flint is used as a building material.
The entrance to the caves is built from flint, and St Lawrence’s church, above the Inner Temple, is also built using flint. Due to the extensive alterations made by Dashwood, all evidence of the caves’ earlier history seem to have been destroyed. The underground “rooms” are named, from the Entrance Hall, through the Circle, Franklin’s Cave (named after Benjamin Franklin, a friend of Dashwood who stayed with him at West Wycombe), the Banqueting Hall, the Triangle, to the Miner’s Cave; finally, across a subterranean river named the Styx, lies the final cave, the Inner Temple. An alternative viewpoint was advanced by Daniel P Mannix in his book about The Hellfire Club. This theory suggests that the caves had been deliberately created by Dashwood according to a sexual design.The design begins at the ‘womb’ of the Banqueting Hall, leading to rebirth through the female triangle, followed by baptism in the River Styx and the pleasures thereafter of the Inner Temple.
This theory is not mentioned in National Trust literature and is allegedly refuted by the Dashwood family.The flint mining theory is also questionable because the Chiltern Hills flint bed overlays the chalk escarpment and does not have to be mined except by means of small open flint dells of which there are many on the area.The caves were refurbished and made suitable for visitors during the 1950s by the late Sir Francis Dashwood, 11th Baronet.
They are now open as a tourist attraction, with life-sized waxwork figures in period costume illustrating the life of the caves in the 18th century. The caves have attracted over 2 million visitors since 1951.
The Gate to Hell in South America is located in Rio de Janeiro. Harbour of Rio de Janeiro is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. The actual open gate yo hell is said to be near where the world famous “Christ the Redeemer” Statue stands. Some say the entrance is in an underwater cave or hidden near the top of Corcovado Peak. Locals believe that during the festival of Carnival the gate swings open to trap those that or unaware of it’s location who deserve to be taken to hell alive.
The gate has also been thought to be located at Machu Picchu, Iguazu Falls, Angel Falls, the Nazca lines are thought by some to point the way, Galapagos, along the Amazon which is thought to originate or flow into the river Styx, Patagonia, Andes .
The North American Gate is said to be located at or very near the Tomb Of the great Voodoo – Hoodoo Queen, Marie Laveau. Many say it is the doorway to the home of the eternally tortured and living dead. Many old tales tell of strange monsters issuing from the infernal gates. Vampires zombies and a host of Ghede and strange half dead beings.
