Anyone who tries to say that the rape and intentional murder of civilians is justified on either side of the Israel/Palestine conflict owes me a 5 paragraph essay on the derailed Israel-Saudi peace deal and how the timing of these attacks potentially relate to that. Moving to the US still feels surreal and there are days where I'm certainly anxious about the election and the gun violence and the general state of the country and even just the far awayness but I also know that I can't let anxiety rule my life

#I was anxious before going to England and Spain and Ireland too #The main difference is that I have to cross all of the Atlantic this time instead of just the channel #I speak the language and I know a lot about the country through pop culture osmosis friends and paying attention in school #I'm a white western European and thus have the privilege of not being perceived as an 'immigrant'#And I'm moving to a region known to be very liberal #And it's not like bad things can't happen outside the US #UK politics are an absolute disgrace and have been getting worse for years #I live in a city that certainly has its fair share of violence although it's more likely to be stabbings here #At the other unis I applied for I actually would have received less funding with probably an even higher cost of living #Like I know Massachusetts is expensive but have you ever seen London????

what all creatures exist in your fae!au?

Anything that's appeared in myths or folktales, including the spooky ones, some of which I deeply dislike but gotta stick to the rules.

Creatures tend to stay to their home turf, but they don't have to. You're not likely to see a yeti in the middle of a city but that doesn't mean they don't exist. That said I hesitate to get too mythical monsterful. The modern age has been very adapt or die for most creatures. So things like dragon's probably don't exist anymore in this world, or if they do they don't make themselves known.

That said there are exceptions to every rule, if you have an idea who am I to stop you? I'm just some weirdo on the internet playing with soldier barbie dolls.

#ghoul speaks #the setting is UK adjacent so most of the creatures are vaguely european but the world is so interconnected these days #im sure there are creatures from all over the place wandering the city #i think of the fae as the middlemen between creatures and humans #they have space all over the world and can sorta pop between continents #the fae wild is crazy ljke that
