Seventh Doctor actor, Sylvester McCoy is set to attend a premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe for a brand new multi-media production, described as a ‘new concept for our times’.

When Poetry Meets Music
There’s a natural affinity between music and poetry, each using sound to create meaning and texture. Even the genius of Goethe’s poem ‘Erlkönig’ becomes more powerful when Schubert uses its words to create a Lieder.
I’m always thrilled if my work is performed or set to music. So I was delighted to hear my poem ‘Refuge’ transformed into a piece of music at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival,…

Edinburgh Fringe Interview: Andy Manjuck and Dorothy James - Bill’s 44th
Bill’s 44th will play at the Underbelly Cowgate between Thursday 3rd and Saturday 27th August (not 14th)
New York-based puppeteers Andy Manjuck and Dorothy James bring their wordless tragicomedy Bill’s 44th to the Edinburgh Fringe, in association with Underbelly. This introspective puppet show explores physical and emotional seclusion, a concept that carries added weight following the pandemic,…

Show 3: Alone (Dusty Room Productions)
This show was certainly not what I was expecting - I booked the ticket on a whim, led in by promises of explorations of climate change, faith, feminism, and David Bowie. The show certainly has all of these, but also so much more. After expertly introducing us to our two characters, Holland and Dr Taylor, in a Bowie-fueled joyful dance sequence, the show gives us just enough time to grow to care for and sympathise with the pair, and understand their fundamental differences, before things on their mission start to go awry. The second half of the show is utterly fantastic, and nearly brought me to tears at several points - the two characters grapple with the inevitability of death in achingly beautiful, relatable dialogue, while still exploring both of their personal failings and flaws that have led them to this point. Even with some technical difficulties, (an LED crucial to the final scene refusing to play ball), the show left me utterly speechless - I would urge absolutely anyone to see this, although maybe with slightly more preparation for the show’s heavy subject matter.

Travel Horrors: Being In Love
Travel Horrors
1984 and the Textiliste and I married. That’s officially long ago. We’ve done the 30 years – pearls apparently – and rubies beckon.
They’ll be cake and stuff and hopefully no travel. Big events and travel don’t combine well when I’m involved.
The wedding went well; she mostly planned it. The honeymoon? That was me. A few days in Paris. We couldn’t afford a lot, having just forked out on a flat…

On Friday 25 August, at 1.30pm, I'm filming my standup show in Edinburgh.
If you're around, please come to this! If you know people in Edinburgh, please recommend the show!
It's pretty much perfectly designed for Tumblr. Bringing queerness and neurodivergence to mainstream standup. It looks like a normal standup - full of jokes, high-energy, uplifting - and at the end you get to see the twist, as audiences realise they've been watching something deeper and more complicated all along.
I'm excited to share the recording with you once it's done, but right now I need an audience. If you can do anything to help, I will love you forever!

On today's episode of, there's a musical about basically everything;
Have you ever wished you could see two true crime fanatics actually solve a murder, rather than talking about them on podcasts? Now you can!
Are you a Great British Bake Off fan? We got you covered.
Do you... Like public bathrooms? That's... Yeah we have that too!
Donald Trump with some sort of artistic subversion that I couldn't figure out? You bet we have it.
(Not technically a musical, but) Lesbians;; can sing... So... That's cool.
Musicals, in order:
Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! (by Jon Brittain and Matthew Floyd Jones) | Great British Bake Off: The Musical (by Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary) | Public - The Musical (by Kyla Stroud) | Trump L'oeil: The Musical (by Henry Parkman Biggs) | The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs (by Iman Qureshi)
