Today marked Fat Thursday in Poland — essentially our national doughnut day. On my way back from therapy, I went by every spot without a colossal line, snagging 2-3 doughnuts at each. Curious about the final count of my doughnut haul? You'd need to sign an NDA for that info. Let's just say the number teeters between 'impressive' and 'should I be worried?' 😅

#it's NICE to be back #things i did this lent: #tried to observe lent #school #saw live music last week! it was fun #hung out with friends over spring break #got into one piece and yes that is still ongoing so there MAY be posts about idiot anime pirates in the future #and in the past couple weeks (somewhat because of the last tag) rejoined the christian tumblr discord #...which DID feel like cheating on the Giving Up Social Media intent of giving up tumblr #but on the other hand i initially stopped hanging out there by accident/too much Life Stuff getting in my way #and i think being back there is good for me so i'm not gonna worry too much about the lent aspect :P #oh!! and my new tiny writing group with other people from my english program #is turning out to be good for pushing me toward writing (or at least getting excited about writing) some of my stuff that isn't fic #and on Easter AND Easter Monday we get to visit with family :)

Going Off Tumblr for Lent!

Hey gang, River of The RIU here! First, no I’m not Catholic; but in my area, some of us Protestants choose to give up something for Lent (the six weeks leading up to Easter). I decided to give up social media this year, so after today (Tuesday), I won’t be on here or able to reply to replies, asks, etc. until Easter.

You’ll still see posts popping up on my tumblr, thanks to my queue, but it’ll only be five a day (look we just had this discussion about my queue being REALLY full). I will still be on Discord and Facebook Messenger, though, for those who need to reach me there! (I did confirm Discord does NOT count as social media by definition, so no this is not cheating. :P)

I hope you all have a great Lent season, whether or not you celebrate Lent! God bless and happy Ash Wednesday/Valentine’s Day! :D

my friends sorta bailed on me for our planned may vacation, or like, not bailed per se, but it was supposed to be a longer trip, and now it turned into an extended long weekend - which is fine! it's still gonna be a lot of fun

but i have all this vacation time i have to use up before the end of July or I lose it - which is such a whiny privileged problem ik - but it's like....i dont HAVE any other nearby friends.....sitting around in my apartment for a day or two is nice, but a whole week? it'll probably just be really depressing??? i'll sleep to much and be a miserable wretch..... but obvs i dont want to NOT use that PTO that i am so lucky to have with this current job (yay unions)

also like i get that i'm not everyone's priority and they used most of their pto for trips with family and significant others....but im just... i saved it for you... i am too pathetic sad bad to have any other friends apparently....
