Reason 8: The insert songs!

Following the trend that started sometime in the early 2000s (I think), where many voice actors/actresses started doing character songs in anime, the live-action also followed that formula and had our Senshi cast sing character songs called "Image Songs". Many of them are also featured as insert songs in the show itself!

Minako has the most songs because her character is a pop singer in the live-action, and 6/7 songs actually are used in the show itself. Only I'm Here wasn't.

By far the most famous is the first song you'll hear in the series (hilariously as Usagi's alarm clock...), and with the most brain-washing tune eve: C'est La Vie.

Most of Minako's songs have very catchy tunes. And hidden within are references to her Senshi identity or the motif of love. In fact, the name C'est La Vie is a pun for "Sailor V" pronounced in Japanese. No matter what universe we're in, Minako is still not known for subtlety. lol

It's actually fun to find all the in-universe references in the song titles and the lyrics. You can practically make a game out of it. lol

Personally, I've played this game off and on since I want to say 04/05. It has changed a lot since being dumped into space and being told good luck and figure it out.

This is the only mmo that I routinely come back to since those early days. Everytime I do the game always feels better than how I left it. (I'm still kicking myself for missing out on so many events. The dr.who one looked like it was neat.)

But by the end of my time to take a break it sorely needed. The game has a way of being wonderful, yet burns you out like a furnace. I won't have a fancy icon next to my player name in Iceland for instance because of those feelings.

The only reason I came back in July, was because a friend I made a decade ago was talking about starting a corp. Grabbing people left right and center from our ancient friend group to dive in. All newbies.

Hence I dragged out an old box full of EON Magazines (discontinued), the I.S.K. book (half outdated I bet), a strategic maps of Eve spiral bound (the lack of Pochven is annoying), the rifter usb hub(Anyone elses light burnput within a month by the way?), and that second decade book.

It was near the back seeing that page about the future predictions. That spurred me to quickly take a picture with my phone. I don't mean to bring any sense of hollowness or for people to languish in what could of have been.

Nostalgia is just kind of powerful remembering the good and bad times we had. Being around people we liked.

I see these predictions ranging from optimism and cynicism as the playerbase. We all want this game to be good. But we can also see the writing on the wall.

I went ahead and ordered the 20th anniversary because I am a sucker.

For as much as Eve Online has pissed me off sometimes, I still like playing it.

TL:DR Made this post because those predictions are a cool look at how we as the playerbase both love and hate this game. Our optimism and our pessimism.

If the new Golden Party Hats are of the same value as the previous ones, they could be worth billions of dollars one day.

RuneScape player 120King claims (opens in new tab) they started cooking sailfish at 6:40 am on Monday. Four hours and "roughly" 4000 cooked sailfish later, they accumulated one of the eight shards required to earn the Golden Party Hat, a piece of gear which gives its wearer no stat benefits. They have until the 3rd of January to acquire the other seven shards they need to get an hat that has no benefits, but may someday make them RuneScape wealthy.

Party hats were last available for purchase in the past 20 years. Those originals, which also give wearers nothing and are now worth billions in gold, making them RuneScape's most important items.

It's a classic illustration of videogame economy logic: The original Party Hats are valuable because they're not needed. When the "partyhat" items were first given out at the Christmas event in 2001 the items were "intended to be worthless and disposable," says RuneScape developer Jagex. There was no benefit to wearing them except looking festive-they are similar to the paper crowns that you find in Christmas crackers (opens in new tab)-and lots of players trashed them after the event.

Jagex didn't reissue the hats next year, or for that matter, ever again. As time went on, some of the players who kept their Party Hats stopped playing, further decreasing the number of hats available. The hats became a symbol of the status of an older player or, since they were so rare and expensive.

"The Hats play a pivotal role in the RuneScape economy as investments, cash-placements, staked items, and collectibles," says Jagex. According to an article on the RuneScape wiki, Party Hats actually go for more than 2.1 billion gold. This is just their stated price because it's the limit for a single transaction on RuneScape's Grand Exchange. (A player told me that the blue ones can sell for over 100 billion.)

The 2021 Party Hats differ from the 2001 caps for parties. They are Golden Party Hats. The originals were only available in blue, white, and red, but they also came in green, yellow and yellow as well as violet. (Correction: Actually they were pink, not purple, a player tells me that the color was changed in response to a duplication glitch.) The Golden Party Hat will be an indication of a player's participation in RuneScape's 20th anniversary celebration or something that can be traded, although they won't automatically be as valuable as the originals. Each player is only able to gain one Golden Party Hat during the event, which means they'll still be rare however, players aren't likely to throw their hats out this time.

To get a Golden Party Hat, players must accumulate eight Golden Party Hat Shards and have an active RuneScape membership, which is $11 per month, or less if they sign up for 12 months of Premier Club membership. (Membership can also be purchased with Bonds which can be traded in-game items, similar to EVE Online's Plex.) You can earn shards through doing specific tasks, such as the 'Once Upon a time in Gielinor’ anniversary quest or by purchasing one for 30,000,000 gold. Some others are random drops that happen while players are learning or participating in another sport.

Jagex claims that the "bad luck protection" system will keep anyone who is actively playing RuneScape from being left hatless until the 3rd of January. apisanet

"As you continue to train the ability or complete clue scrolls, the likelihood of getting a shard grows exponentially," says the developer. "Essentially, it's our intent that players actively playing throughout this event will be able create their own hats without much hassle."

However, some players from trying to grind out Shard drops as fast as they can, like by cooking in the morning thousands of sailfish. Another participant on the RuneScape forum claimed to have killed "2,000 demons in the abyss" without having any Combat Shard drop, while another reported that they got the Combat Shard after fighting dark beasts for six hours. Holiday season & why we celebrate

Well Christmas is coming up for a lot of people. There are more holidays during this time and I would like to say Happy Holidays to everyone. For my family, we celebrate Christmas. We aren't Christian or Pagan but we still very much enjoy the holiday.

There are actually two religions that I know of that celebrate this. One is Christianity and the other is Pagan. I have family that is Pagan and family that is Christian. Christians celebrate Christmas Day as the anniversary of the birth of Jesus, a spiritual leader. Pagans celebrate the Winter Solstice with gift giving and parties.

Decorating is fun as a family. We usually put the tree up together and put on the ornaments. Everyone has their favorite ones. Mine is my Buddha, my daughter's is her ballerina, and my step son's is his red truck. My husband doesn't actually have one. I need to get Pagan, Satanist, and Wiccan ornaments for my other family members. I have asked them to send their favorite symbols so that I can. We already have the Star of Bethlehem for the Christian side. The rest of the decorations we split up between us. The tree is the main thing to do as a family.

My favorite part is giving gifts. I love finding the perfect gifts for all of my friends and family– something they’ll really appreciate. But true to most moms, we seem to have a really hard time asking for what we want for Christmas. This is due to us having to make sure everyone else has their gifts. I buy all of the gifts. My husband just provides ideas and I shop. As a busy working mother, I mainly shop online. I don't have a lot of time for shopping in person.

It can be stressful. Buying gifts for my side of the family and my husband's side, friends, kids' teachers, and so on. I usually just ask them what they want. If they don't know, I either guess based on what I know or I give a gift card.

We have our fun traditions. My husband's family has always had a Christmas movie of some kind with hot cocoa and cinnamon rolls in the morning. His family used to always get dog stocking with all those toys for his dogs growing up as well. We have three and they get stocking each year. I added stockings for the two cats. My family did a Christmas eve gift of PJ's and a that large can with three types of popcorn with a movie for Christmas eve night. Mine always did pancakes for breakfast but my husband and I had to compromise with what we would do. This year we are watching "The Polar Express" for the movie.

Every other year, we do have to celebrate early; like this year. We celebrated on the sixteenth of December. This is due to the facts that we only get my step son every other year. His mother gets him this year. So Santa, being the understanding man that he is, comes early on these years to our house with half of the gifts and then goes to his mother's to give him the other half of his gifts. It's the same way at his mother's when we have him for Christmas. But we do the same things just on different days. It's still fun and memorable.

Everyone has their reasons for celebrating. For our family, it's mainly for fun. I do have family who celebrate for religious reasons. We celebrate with them on a different day usually. It's always after the 20th. I do wish everyone Happy Holidays and enjoy yourselves.

I think he means trans activists will not be charged for doxxing J.K. Rowling’s address on Twitter and that the “Harry Potter” author previously called out such behavior as harassment.

Transgender activists who publicized “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling’s home address on social media will not be criminally charged, Scottish police said Tuesday.On the eve of Transgender Day of Remembrance in November, comedian Holly Stars, actor Georgia Frost and drag star Richard Energy staged a demonstration in front of Rowling’s home near Edinburgh, Scotland, to protest her views on the trans community. The trio were criticized for posting a now-deleted photo on Twitter with Rowling’s home address visible in the background.A Police Scotland spokesperson said in an email Tuesday that “enquiries were carried out and no criminality has been established.”

Through a representative, Rowling declined a request for comment about the decision.

Rowling had bashed the trio on Twitter for “doxxing” her, a word used when people’s private information is shared online without their consent.“I have to assume that @IAmGeorgiaFrost, @hollywstars and @Richard_Energy_ thought doxxing me would intimidate me out of speaking up for women’s sex-based rights,” Rowling wrote. “They should have reflected on the fact that I’ve now received so many death threats I could paper the house with them, and I haven’t stopped speaking out.”

She added, “Perhaps — and I’m just throwing this out there — the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us.”

Stars, who previously defended posting the photo, said she deleted the tweet after she received online threats.

“While we stand by the photo, since posting it we have received an overwhelming amount of serious and threatening transphobic messages so have decided to take the photo down,” Stars wrote. “Love to our trans siblings.”

Rowling has been at odds with many in the LGBTQ community for her views on trans people, which some have called transphobic.

The rift blew up in 2019 when Rowling expressed her support for Maya Forstater, a British tax specialist who was fired for tweets that were deemed to be anti-transgender. Rowling then drew criticism for a slew of tweets that many said included transphobic ideas.

In 2020, after she mocked a news headline that read “people who menstruate,” Rowling wrote: “If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.”

She doubled down on her views in a nearly 4,000-word blog post in 2020, questioning whether a “contagion” fueled by social media has led to the rise in the number of young people coming out as transgender.

In the blog post, she also revealed that she is a survivor of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

“So I want trans women to be safe. At the same time, I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe. When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman — and, as I’ve said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones — then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth,” she wrote.

Stars from the “Harry Potter” films have distanced themselves from Rowling over the last several years following her inflammatory remarks on the trans community.

Notably, the series’ lead actor, Daniel Radcliffe, hit back at Rowling last year in an essay, declaring that “transgender women are women.”

Cast members from all eight films of the “Harry Potter” series released a behind-the-scenes reunion special on New Year’s Day to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the film franchise. The special, which premiered on the streaming service HBO Max, notably did not feature Rowling.

VH1 Goes Inside Primetime Cartoons (October 2, 2003 - 5:00 PM)

This was a fun special. I actually got online with Kon and co. to watch this on the eve of Adult Swim’s 20th anniversary. This lightly touches on a bunch of Adult Swim shows. The entire special can be found on YouTube, but I linked to this stretch that focuses on [adult swim]. But the whole thing is worth watching, as the [adult swim] people comment throughout the entire special on various shows. Too bad they couldn’t get the rights to show any clips of The Simpsons, though.

If someone had told you at the beginning of 2020 that the year was going to be spent mostly at home and online, you’d probably have laughed it off. However, in arguably the most challenging year of our lifetime, that’s exactly what happened. Thankfully, we’re fans of the King of Pop and that means that no matter where you are in the world, you’re part of an active community that engages fans and always finds ways to celebrate no matter how challenging.

So, before we turn the page to 2021, Here is MJVibe’s top picks for Michael Jackson 2020 – Year in Review!

Thriller appears in the Top 10 vinyl sales of the decade in the United States at number 6, having sold 334,000 copies between 2010 and 2019. In 2019 alone, 88,000 copies of Thriller on vinyl were sold across the U.S.

A pair of Louboutins designed exclusively for Michael to wear during ‘This Is It’ go on display in Paris France at the Palais de la Porte Dorée as part of an exhibition focusing on the world-famous designer Christian Louboutins. The sparkly shoes offer a subtle nod to Michael’s Triumph/Off The Wall look and were displayed as if Moonwalking.

- Bad in Wembley and Dangerous Live in Bucharest are once again made available for streaming on YouTube through Michael’s official channel in an effort to encourage the ‘stay home’ order given to countries around the world.

- After 11 years at the Lyric Theater, Thriller Live closes its doors for the final time. The show had been scheduled to complete on April 26th 2020 and leave the Lyric to find a new home. However, the UK-wide lock down as a result of the pandemic saw the show close earlier than planned.

- The MJ Estate donated $300,000 to Corona Virus relief efforts in Michael’s name. Broadway Cares, Three Square Food Bank (Southern Nevada’s largest hunger-relief organization) and MusicCares each received a $100,000 donation.

The Estate release ‘Heal The World 2020’, a new short film to accompany Michael’s 1992 hit of the same name. The film focused on the Covid-19 pandemic and was produced to unite Michael’s fans virtually during an almost global lock down.

In response to the release, fans ensured ‘Healtheworld2020’ trended two weekends consecutively. As of December 2020, the short film has 4.3 million views on YouTube.

- As a result of the pandemic, MJ The Musical’s debut is once again delayed to September 2021. Originally planned to open in Chicago in the Summer of 2019, the launch was cancelled with a plan to head straight to Broadway in early 2020. After three rescheduled dates, the decision was made to push to September 2021.

- Michael dominates Smooth Radio’s All-Time Top 500 Songs with the most entries by a solo artist. With 20 entries, Billie Jean and Man In The Mirror placed inside the Top 10, with George Michael being the only other artist to do so. Averaging four million listeners a week, Smooth Radio removed Michael from rotation in 2019, however, this poll as voted by the public, ensured Michael returned to the station’s regular playlist. #MUTEWHO?!

- HIStory turns 25 and while fans around the world mark the album’s monumental status and timeless appeal, the Estate chose to release apparel and a badge set, which mostly amounted to, what some fans considered an overpriced, bad quality, poorly designed, late delivered collection.

- Marking the 25th Anniversary of the album, the HIStory teaser is added to YouTube where it has since been viewed 1.5 million times via Michael’s official channel.

- It’s been over 50 years since the Jackson 5 performed on the Ed Sullivan show. As part of a full library upload, the performances are restored and uploaded to YouTube for future generations to enjoy. You can watch the iconic performances here!

- Sixteen11 Media Group announces the release of a new book titled, ‘The Story of HIStory’ by Pez Jax. The book charts the creation and release of HIStory and marks 25 years of the album’s release. Including interviews with many people who worked on the album and short films, Jax called upon HIStory Statue sculptor Diana Walczak to help create the cover of the book. By the end of 2020, the book was released in special gold hardback and has been shipped to over 30 countries around the world. Several of Michael’s items from the era were placed on auction through Julien’s Auctions. Taking place from the 15th – 19th of June, listings included the three Olodum outfits worn by Michael in ‘They Don’t Care About Us’, the black trench coat from Stranger In Moscow and the handwritten lyrics to D.S.

- Author Damien Shields releases ‘The Genesis of Thriller’, a special audio documentary that takes listeners into the studio to discover how the world’s biggest-selling album was made. HIGHLY Recommended!

- SiriusXM launches ‘The Michael Jackson Channel’, a radio station playing nothing but Michael Jackson music for a strictly limited time. The station also featured a special playlist titled ‘The Now More Than Ever King of Pop Playlist’.

- UK Nationwide Radio Station ‘Smooth Radio’ host their annual ‘Top 100’ poll to find out who the number one Icon is, according to listeners. With an overwhelming number of votes, Michael comes in at Number one.

- Following global demonstrations in relation to the killing of George Floyd at the hands of police, Spike Lee teamed up with the Estate to release a new version of ‘They Don’t Care About Us’ for 2020. Mixing together both the Brazilian and Prison versions of the short film, Lee also incorporated footage from demonstrations around the world, which once again proved just how timeless Michael’s music is when used as the backdrop to current affairs.

- Chinese fans celebrate Michael’s 62nd Birthday with the unveiling of 10 statues across the country. Created by MJJCN, the statues were installed in prominent locations including Nanning and Beijing and serve as a wonderful dedication to Michael.

‘Loving Neverland’ is released on YouTube as a five-hour compilation of footage and information that details Michael’s life, challenges and career in great detail. Compiled by fans Nandita Raghav and Deboleena Aich, Loving Neverland serves as a powerful reminder to what Michael experienced for anyone looking to understand who he was. You can watch it here!

- Finally, and after many years of asking, the Estate decided to do something with Michael Jackson’s Ghosts, announcing it would be free to stream on YouTube from 29th October until the 1st of November. To mark the Halloween period, which Michael ultimately rules, the mini-movie was uploaded in better quality than the previous uploads.

- Walmart release a limited edition 2x colored vinyl of the Jackson 5 greatest hits album ‘The Ultimate Collection’. Available only in the U.S, the album was issued through Universal Music.

- In what’s almost yearly fashion, more of Michael’s personal items were placed up for auction including the 2006 Japan VMAs jacket that marked Michael’s first official red-carpet appearance since his 2005 trial.

Also on auction were platinum record awards, signed items, photographs, drawings and a glove.

- Cirque-Du-Soleil announced that despite being closed for most of 2020 due to the pandemic, Michael Jackson ONE is one of five Las Vegas residency shows to receive a contract extension. Originally signed as a 10-year with five years guaranteed at the Mandalay Bay, the show has been so popular that both Cirque and Mandalay want to keep it going past its 2023 end date. The new end date on the contract extension has not been announced.

- On November 16th, the legendary Bruce Swedien passed away. Having worked with Michael as Engineer on all his Epic solo albums up to Invincible, Swedien continued working in the industry up until his passing and became an inspiration to many upcoming producers and engineers. Rest in Peace Bruce!

- Michael once again topped Forbes list of the Highest-Paid Dead Celebrity. Coming in at number one with $48 million earned, he beat Dr Seuss who came in second position with $33 million. FYI, Elvis came in 5th.

- To cap off another year of insightful interviews and important documentation, the MJCast episode 126 was a special featuring TJ Jackson. TJ speaks about growing up a Jackson, working with Michael and how the last few years of negativity have affected his family. You can listen to this deeply personal episode here!

- On Christmas Eve it was announced that Neverland ranch had officially been sold. Purchased for just $22 million by Billionaire Ron Burkle, the final price was a huge reduction from the overzealous $100 million asking price when the property was first put onto the market. However, there is hope as Burkle was a former business associate and friend to Michael, so while it may not be a ‘Michael Jackson Memorial’, it will hopefully be treated with the respect and history it deserves.

As we begin 2021 with hope and optimism, it may take a while before we can all be back with our favorite MJ friends; throwing down dance moves on his birthday and lighting candles on his anniversary. However, with the 30th Anniversary of Dangerous and the 20th Anniversary of Invincible at the tail end of the year, it’s likely we can look forward to some exciting coverage from a variety of different places and hopefully some more chart-topping achievements throughout the year.

Start at the begining

U2, founded in 1976, remained the most popular band in the world until the mid-1980s. It was a rock band from Dublin, Ireland, with John Bonham, Brian Eno, John Paul Jones, and Larry Brown.

The band was also responsible for hits like "The Power of Love" and "Lonely Boy" as well as many others. Coldplay might sometimes be mistaken for a U2 tribute act, but only "U2" sounds exactly like them. Clayton Mullen formed the rhythm section, which was unexpected in itself, and Edges' sounding guitar is a perfect complement to Bono's emotion - soaked vocals. U2's songwriting Edge is said to have laid a series of hooks and chords, with Bono adding first-rate melodies and lyrics, but producing music that can wrap quietly and hover high to fill a vast space. In high school, Bono, Edge, and Mullen grew up in a faith community called Shalom, whose members lived on Dublin's streets as first-century Christians and were described as Christians in high schools. It was traumatizing, which is perhaps why almost all U2 albums contain lyrics about belonging to a band and not a church. After listening to U2, he said: "I'm glad I was able to benefit from this advice because my own band, the Black Eyed Peas, benefited from it.

U2 "s energy and ambition distinguished them from the rest of the band and formed a band they could play in. Bono, Edge, Mullen, drummer John Paul Jones, and bassist Larry Gossard met at Mount Temple School and formed U2 in 1978, signed to Island Records.

On the eve of a tour that began in October, a turning point came, and Edge announced that he was leaving U1 because he could not reconcile the two demands of piety and rock star. The new album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, making U2 the only band in history to top the charts for four decades in a row. They are considered one of the best live acts in the world and have released 14 studio albums and sold over 157 million copies.

The band launched eXPERIENCE in 2018, and in June 2020 SiriusXM and U2 announced a partnership to curate the first US live concert series on Sirius XM Radio. Arena production has led them to push the creative boundaries of technology and technology. They formed as a kind of band, formed by their schoolmates at Oxford University in Oxford, England, in the early 1980s as part of a group of friends. After the release of their debut album Boy in 1980, the band signed to Island Records, and things moved quickly. It was their third album, 1983's War, on which U2 began to establish themselves as one of the most successful rock bands in the world. The song "Sunday Bloody Sunday" provided the big political statement and activism for which the band was to become known. Bono remains one of the world's leading social activists, and the most recent is the 2014 song Innocence. Since then, the band has released four 21st century albums, with four more on the way in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Following the pop-mart tour, the band played a short concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland, after the audience voted for the Northern Ireland peace deal. In late 1998, U2 released their second studio album, "The Joshua Tree," a follow-up to their previous album, "Omagh," and performed at the memorial service for the dead and injured in the bombing in Omagh, Northern Ireland, earlier this year, which killed 29 people and injured 220. It was released in October 2000 and was seen as a return to grace by those who were not convinced by the band's experiments in the 1990s. To mark the 20th anniversary of its release, U2 "s" Can't Leave It All Behind "was remastered and re-released as" The Joshua Tree. " U2 returned to their rock roots and won seven Grammys, including the record for best rock album of the year and a Grammy for the best rock album.

It really started to solidify and there was a sense of continuity in U2, which is their biggest attribute. As so often with her songs, it can be heard in every album, from the first to the last. There is no way to get involved in it, but I am sure that you will follow them and put yourself in their shoes for the next 40 years.

Happy 80th Birthday John! Sending out Wishes of Peace to the World!

I was 5 years old when the Beatles were introduced on the Ed Sullivan Show. I can remember sitting on the floor in front of our black and white television watching them. My oldest brother is 8 years older than I am and became a huge Beatles fan. So, I grew up listening to their music. The Beatles announced their break up in 1970.

For me, John Lennon became a man of Peace. I was 22 years old when he was shot and killed. A man of Peace killed. I remember it was announced on the news that night. I wasn't sure what to do, how to react, there was no internet to get online and share your feelings. It was too late to call a friend and vent.

I walked to my 2-year old daughter's room and just watched her sleeping. I sat and tears flowed, quietly...thinking back to the Beatle's music flowing through my childhood home. I remembered my mom telling me to do the twist to the song 'Twist and Shout. I thought about the funny movies the Beatles made, how goofy John was, all of them showing the lighter side.

I am grateful to have grown up in the time that I did...I am glad my brother was such a fan (still is..will always been) his love for their music is a gift to me. I am also (alays will be) a huge fan.

Thanks John, for sharing your gift, your love for everyone. Let's hope your wish for Peace comes true soon.
