Not really an explanation, but:

The image is a regular square grid, in alternate shades of blue. There are also small stars over every other corner of this grid, alternated in black and white.

For a section of the grid, however, the color pattern for both the grid and the stars is inverted. This provides the illusions of a square section in the middle that moves differently from the background, and that the lines of the grid are not parallel.

Trying to be productive member of society when this scene is living rent free in my head is the most difficult task I've ever tried to accomplish.

The Bell's Chorus, and Yuu

In a world where everything was engulfed in the very things I despise, I suffered an unbearable agony. When it reached an unfathomable screeching cacophony of sound, you appeared and held me near. But you said something truly terrible.

“Rollo! I won’t tell anyone, I promise, but you can’t go through with your plan. It won’t work.” You were right of course, and you kept your promise. I admired that about you. I became enraptured by your grace and needed more of you.

It felt wrong somehow, that those villains would take you away. You poor thing, you must have been coerced by them. I will admit they bear a charisma befitting of villains, but that only makes it more concerning you seem so fond of them.

"Yuu." The name lingers, even as you're no longer present at this academy, your name lingers. Your visage dances in the flames, your laughter accompanies the Bell's chime.

You are my salvation.

A perfect being in this tainted world. You knew my plan and knew it wouldn't work. You must have a brilliant mind, be it that of a genius, or that of a prophet. If I had met you sooner, would I have been able to subdue magic with your help? In this world where you alone have no magic, aren't you burdened? You told me you'd gotten used to it, but I can't fathom you enjoy it, that unreasonable difference.

Ah, I know. I must save you as you have saved me. My light, I will guard your flame and hold you close. In my arms, you will never be subjected to the cruel and rambunctious magic that entraps you so. I will save you, that I promise.

Now that those villains know my plans, I must find aid, people who can sew the seeds of the fire lotuses when the time is right. It was ... difficult ... to obtain what I did, but I can and will do it again. This time, the scale will extend beyond this insufferable city. This time, it won't be stopped by the very bell I so admire.

The bell.

Its ringing instills pride in me even now, even though others say I have tarnished its view of me. I know well I did right, and as such I know the bell does not disown me. But somehow, even while pride takes up part of my heart, the other part keeps finding you. Was it just your magicless nature I admired? Or was it the warmth from your gaze, your gentle warning, or your pleasant voice?

I need to hear it again. The voice that called out to me, however cruel. I need to have it near. Surely you understand me. Yuu. You warned me. You gave me those cruel words, but you still wished for my safety. Yuu, my angel, I need you to come back to me.

Yuu.
