I’ve watched “Starship”. I’m not even going to try how many Star Trek references and jokes are in here because I feel like it’s just one huge Star Trek joke, have you even seen their emblem? “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few”, - are you even serious? It’s like the sixth minute. I bet at the end somebody will say that sometimes the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many. February, sweety, that’s not a tricorder, that’s a communicator how did even show you anything. Joe Walker looks unexpectedly good with a moustache, his look feels especially refreshing after the penis costume (yes, I still feel a little traumatized after it). I saw Joe Moses and spent some time with that odd itch in my brain trying to recognize who the hell is that, because without a black wig and twisted face expression he looks like a completely different person (I would never think that he’s actually pretty). Okay, some silly Terminator and Futurama jokes are here too. The “lap” scene (when commander Up asks one of his subordinates to sit on his lap, but then it turns out that it’s nothing sexual, he just wants her to sleep better) was at the same time weird and unsettling but very sweet. No, it’s sooooo sweet. Almost too sweet to handle. How they rub their noses! Okay, audio jokes were very good, especially the one when Mega-Girl makes a modem sound. I’m too lazy to retell the plot right now, but just believe me that it’s about acceptance and tolerance. And love. Of course. Seems like we’re getting back to the good stuff – with funny jokes, interesting plots and, what I forgot to mention – pleasant music! It’s not like “Twisted” yet, but it’s already pretty good. P.S. I lost the bet, nobody said that. Such a missed opportunity.

Fantasy Diary Entry: Glasswings

Stranger things have happened thus far, haven’t they?

Fantasy Diaries are an ongoing series of my own female Sims navigating their own stories, and the first entry will be Mina Alvaro’s here in Strangerville.

Young, gorgeous and influential, Mina Amaranta Alvarez is the odd new yuppie internet figure among the residents initially hired by the government-backed companies back in her hometown of San Sequoia to do some good PR.

However, after some bullshit with the bureacracy Mina never figured out, she remained static in Strangerville, content to keep up her odd jobs as a work-from-home programmer.

That is, until an upcoming visit from her strict and appearance-conscious mother spurs her to action.

Truth is, she’d been living an entirely different life in her sparsely-sent texts to her mother: she was here for the science, tech-y jobs, successful, and had a boyfriend.

Yowzers. She had none of those three, but the one she could manage was by roping in that acquaintance she has that sold those odd knickknacks across the street where her house was. After all, he was nice, and he seemed a bit ditzy enough to agree.

Holy shit, he does.

She gets into an agreement with Erwin: he’ll pretend to be her boyfriend as long as she helps him solve the town mystery, by being his girl on the inside and do investigating for him. A fairly easy arrangement for her mother’s two-week stay.

As we all know, such partnerships are…complicated. Will either of the two realize this was never just a fake relationship from the start? Will Mina be able to solve the mystery—more importantly, does she even want to?

Here in this Fantasy Diary entry, truth is the wings Mina needs to finally be her best self, and fly.
