The lightning strike is hands down one of the best story arcs of the whole series. It was so satisfying to be able to address certain things like Bobby and Buck’s relationship and Buck’s idea of his self worth. Oliver’s grasp of Buck is insane. He took us through all the mental and emotional trauma Buck battles every day. That conversation he had with himself was just so raw and so heartbreaking. You felt Buck’s panic and longing and then torn ultimately bittersweet acceptance when he remembered who he was. The Hallisay family cameo was the perfect twist of the knife in the tension. Brian is SUCH an amazing actor because we haven’t seen him in four seasons and I still hated Doug on sight. Jennifer Love Hewitt’s acting is so deeply understated by how incredible she conveyed the emotions she went through. You felt the team’s grief and anxiety and Ryan’s moment brushing away the tear? It was so beautifully shot too! All three of those directors should be insanely proud because I was in the episodes. I was engaged and in love. It made it feel like season one mixed with season four but also brand new and fresh at the same time. I could go on and on about the writers as well but all I would end up saying is bravo. Bravo and well done. That was fucking television.

spooky tuesday is a (now not so new!) podcast where we’re breaking down all of our favorite slashers, thrillers, monster movies and black comedies on the new scariest day of the week.
did anyone else just get the strangest craving for pizza? we could use a little snack here at spooky tuesday, especially since we've got nothing to do for the rest of the night besides play the harpsichord, try on other people's glasses, and snoop through this big old house while babysitting some old lady. oh, yeah — and we're watching the house of the devil (2009). in ti west's satanic panic-inspired '80s slow burn, college student samantha agrees to take on an unusual gig for some much-needed rent money, and though bestie greta gerwig reminds her to be wary of weirdos, things still go more than a little sideways.
give spooky tuesday a listen on apple podcasts, spotify, iheart radio, or stitcher
