A coal-fired power plant in China's Sichuan province.
China now emits more CO2 than the entire developed world combined—completely cancelling out all the sacrifices you are being forced to make in the ludicrous pursuit of Net Zero. 🤔

The richest one percent of the global population are responsible for the same amount of carbon emissions as the world's poorest two-thirds, or five billion people, according to an analysis published Sunday by the nonprofit Oxfam International. While fighting the climate crisis is a shared challenge, not everyone is equally responsible and government policies must be tailored accordingly, Max Lawson, who co-authored the report, told AFP. "The richer you are, the easier it is to cut both your personal and your investment emissions," he said. "You don't need that third car, or that fourth holiday, or you don't need to be invested in the cement industry." "Climate Equality: A Planet for the 99%", was based on research compiled by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and it examined the consumption emissions associated with different income groups up to the year 2019. It was published as world leaders prepare to meet for climate talks at the COP28 summit in Dubai later this month. Fears are growing that limiting long-term warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius could soon be impossible to achieve.

Look at the amount of CO2 emissions your idol produced before releasing the most ordinary, mid album with the most r-worded lyrics we've ever seen.

Interviewer: "Some people would even say that if you just planted enough trees, it could take care of the climate issue altogether."
Bill Gates: "And that's complete nonsense." "I mean, are we the science people, or are we the idiots? Which one do we want to be?"
Even if you assume that CO2 is somehow a "pollutant" that needs to be sucked out of the air (it's not, and it doesn't), you'd think trees which suck CO2 out of the air for free would make the ideal candidate. But no, apparently we need to impoverish ourselves into squalor, building hideous expensive and totally unnecessary carbon capture technology attempting to solve a non-existent problem. 🤔

I saw the comment that someone sent you about Taylor being out of touch when it comes to her privilege and blablabla, and I gotta say, I just can’t stand the hypocrisy of these people.
It’s obvious that they try to condemn her out of pure jealousy, from the fact that she was born in wealth and was able to build a huge empire for herself! Thinking of themselves as so superior because…they have none of it. And if they had…they’d probably be 10000% more out of touch and unaware of their privileges. It’s utterly ridiculous. People should just get down of their high horses and stop thinking they have the right to judge ANYONE simply because they don’t act according to the persona they wish they were. I bet none of them have the moral to do that anyway.
I understand your frustration, anon. However, I encourage you to provide examples since this is all based off of assumptions.
Let’s not be too definitive with our assumptions about other people’s morals. For example, I’m sure the people who criticise Taylor - and other white girls who claim to be allies - for dating a racist, don’t actually date racists themselves. If they are dating racists while criticising Taylor for the same point, then I agree with you. It would be a hypocritical act.
However, this is all quite theoretical since we’re not currently talking about any concrete examples. If you have any concrete examples of someone being a hypocrite, please feel free to share.
I don’t want to make you feel alienated in any way so I will share an example that ties to your point.
This example is about private jets. There are many people who criticise TS for using a private jet. However, many of these people stan celebrities like Travis Scott and the Kardashians. This is hypocritical because those celebrities produce even more carbon emissions than TS. This is why these types of criticisms appear to be in bad faith. There are many people who are disingenuous when they criticise TS. However, I don’t believe this means we should excuse her unethical practices. Because we also see her peers do better than her regarding ethical practices. For example, when Coldplay went on tour, they made sure to minimise their carbon emissions. They have a page about this on their website because they are committed to minimising their negative impact on the planet. Taylor could do this too, but she chooses not to. This is one example of a genuine criticism.
