[ID: a digital painting that copies "cafe terrace at night" by vincent van gogh. the sky is replaced with one copied from his other painting "starry night". a couple holding hands across a table have been added to the foreground, along with a grey and white cat perched on a stool. end ID.]
this whopper of a commission was for a client who wanted herself and her partner edited into their favourite van gogh painting for valentine's day! it was pretty fun to experiment with brushes to get a look reminiscent of real paint.
i charged $80 USD for this, but if i did it again i'd probably charge more like $200. it took a lot of work to get right!
perpetually outdated commission info: link

I know they're not necessarily the most popular ones according to everyone but they're widely known and I'm not sure how many of us would agree on a top 9.
I may make other Van Gogh polls. I have polls about literature, art, comics etc in my pinned post.

Van Gogh 360 Review
Author’s Note: I recently went to the Bangalore edition of the Van Gogh 360 exhibit. I have not attended any other editions of the exhibit in any other cities. All of life is fodder, and I haven’t seen an exhaustive review that covered the content of the exhibit apart from practical details like dates and booking information, so here’s my brief review. Vincent Van Gogh died an artist’s death –…

This is an inspiring art named "Café Terrace at Night" created by Vincent Van Gogh. According to a researcher named Jared Baxter, Van Gogh's artwork has similarities to Leonardo da Vinci's “The Last Supper”. A close examination of the painting reveals that the central figure has long hair and is surrounded by 12 other people. In addition, a cross glows in the background of the composition, and Van Gogh has incorporated more cross-like shapes throughout the piece. It may be Judas represented by the shadowy figure sliding through the threshold.
What inspired me is even if something didn't work out, Van Gogh had the inspiration to keep going forward, which shows how driven and courageous he was. Despite having a difficult upbringing, Van Gogh serves as a role model for people like me to be inspired by. Whatever the circumstances, he persisted in creating art and using paintings to communicate his emotions.

My Paintings
My acrylic painting of Claude Monet’s “Water Lily Pond, Harmony in Green,” with a red rose from our 25th Renewal of Marriage Vows on the left, and the bow John made from a pine tree in our back yard in our old forest 25 years ago. When we retired here, I decided that I would try my hand at painting. The last time I painted was in Mrs. Weed’s Junior High School Art Class. I remember painting Van…

For the month of January I will be posting a piece of my favorite art (almost) every day.
Day 1 is Café Terrace at Night by Van Gogh
This is one of my favorite pieces by Van Gogh (in fact my first oil painting was inspired by this piece). I love the use of color and the stars. The brushwork is beautiful! I love this painting so much.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s painting!
