this whopper of a commission was for a client who wanted herself and her partner edited into their favourite van gogh painting for valentine's day! it was pretty fun to experiment with brushes to get a look reminiscent of real paint.
i charged $80 USD for this, but if i did it again i'd probably charge more like $200. it took a lot of work to get right!
I know they're not necessarily the most popular ones according to everyone but they're widely known and I'm not sure how many of us would agree on a top 9.
I may make other Van Gogh polls. I have polls about literature, art, comics etc in my pinned post.
Author’s Note: I recently went to the Bangalore edition of the Van Gogh 360 exhibit. I have not attended any other editions of the exhibit in any other cities. All of life is fodder, and I haven’t seen an exhaustive review that covered the content of the exhibit apart from practical details like dates and booking information, so here’s my brief review.

In addition, a cross glows in the background of the composition, and Van Gogh has incorporated more cross-like shapes throughout the piece. It may be Judas represented by the shadowy figure sliding through the threshold.

For the month of January I will be posting a piece of my favorite art (almost) every day.
Day 1 is Café Terrace at Night by Van Gogh
This is one of my favorite pieces by Van Gogh (in fact my first oil painting was inspired by this piece). I love the use of color and the stars. The brushwork is beautiful! I love this painting so much.
