FANTASY HIGH JUNIOR YEAR SPOILERS

i 100% think Ankarna/ uncorrupted ankarna is Figs nightmare king/Cassandra. This deity was made for her, just the description of this deities original domain 100% resonated with her, summoned a steed that was one of ankarnas, pulled ankarnas domain into her own, has been using magic that looks like SUNLIGHT instead of FLAME, and i think the decision emily makes that changes the direction of figs story has to do with ankarna

just like how Ally choosing to have Kristen worship the unnamed goddess and trust the unnamed goddess and the nightmare king were one and the same changed her story completely as well

HELL FIG IS DATING A PHOENIX, KRISTEN WAS DATING A WOLF WHEN SHE STARTED WORSHIPPING A GODDEXX OF THE NIGHT

And while neither Ayda or Tracker worship the goddess that their girlfriends chose/might choose to worship, they still have a major connection to the subject matter of these goddesses imo

tbh the way i’ve been viewing cassandra is that she’s talking about both the kimye situation and the scooter situation cause in the first verse she says she’s patching up the crack when she got the call (she was trying to mend things, the phone call happened) and then in the third verse when she references it again she says she patched up the crack and that’s when she lost it all (she felt like she was finally in a good place again/had moved on and then she lost her catalog)

i think this is a very astute reading!

Hot take. Rapunzel should not have forgiven Cassandra or Varian for what they did to her. Cassandra only "went good" after Zhan Tiri took the stone and she lost everything. Varian only "went good" after he got thrown in the dungeon cell with Rapunzel. None of them sorted themselves out until AFTER they lost. And then Rapunzel comforts THEM? UGH!!!

You seem to be misremembering what happened with Varian. We, the audience, see him having second thoughts after the initial fight with Rapunzel and co in the throne room. And then, he only got thrown in jail because he turned on Andrew and attacked him.

Then, he and Rapunzel had a genuine heart-to-heart, during which Rapunzel explained her side, that she had more things on her plate than just what Varian wanted her to do. He accepted this and apologized and then she forgave him.

Rapunzel has always been a person of chances. She gave Eugene a chance to help her, and during the course of their time together, got to know him as a person. She gave the pub thugs a chance by asking about their dreams, and they turned out to be thuggish men with largely artistic dreams, not to mention fiercely protective of her. She gave Max a chance to get to know Eugene the way she did by asking him to put aside his duty for one day, after which Max came to understand the kind of person Eugene really was an came to his rescue.

While I have never been on board with her forgiving Cassandra, I do acknowledge that it's 100% in character for her to have done so.

“they say “what doesn’t kill makes you aware,” what happens if it becomes who you are?”

the original saying being “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” and taylor could’ve used that to say that her circumstances made her stronger, but her specifically using “aware” is so notable to me because now she’s specifically not saying she became stronger, but she just became aware of how people will betray and hurt you. and the follow up lyric being that being aware is what she is now. she looks for people back-stabbing her and is very cautious. it consumes her so much that it’s who she is; always worried and sleeping with an eye open. it’s not given her the desired quality of being strong, but just makes her overthink to point of it consuming her. such a poetic way to express that her trauma and the level to which it affects her.

thinking about Cassandra and Ankarna. Like, Brennan didn’t seem like thrilled as Cassandra when she realized Ankarna was still alive and it’s like - how do we know this wedding was a happy one? what if Ankarna doesn’t want to be redeemed?

We have a high possibility for a repeat of “to reach a hand down to someone they need to be Beneath You”. Like it’s true, Ankarna could be redeemable and i’m down for both versions of this story

But what is more teen than believing in your heart in the inherent goodness of all. What is more Fig than believing that someone just needs another chance and someone in their corner. She heard that you can change a god by changing your belief and said “yes, I can do this, because I know that love changes you. I see it. I lived it. I can be that for someone who needs it”
